Glad to see some positive support for this idea.
I bring this up because I've seen quite a few people who play (or want to play) a character based on a villain group or Vanguard, but had to (or don't want to) slog through several levels with an incomplete character until they got the required costume pieces. I'm in this boat myself with my Nemesis Automaton character. He looks silly running around with the Merc Assault rifle, but if costume unlocks were global (or I could trade unlocks between characters, that's a good idea too) he'd already have his Nemesis Rifle since my badger, a Katana/SR Scrapper, alreay has Unveiler. -
Quote:Wait, can a Hero go to either Atlas or Talos? Or is the zone it's in dependent on the server you're playing on? If so, which server events will be in which zone?
Depending on your server, report to Atlas Park or Talos Island (if youre a hero), and Cap au Diable (if youre a villain)!

This has most likely been suggested before, but I was unable to find a thread about it, so here it is.
One of the things that annoys me the most about CoX is this: If I want to create a Roman Gladiator, I can. But he has to hit at least level 35 and complete a Task Force before I can make him look like a Roman Galdiator. If I want to make a Nemesis Soldier, I can. But he has to hit at least level 40 (or be SK'ed up to that level) and defeat 100 Fake Nemesis before he can get his Nemesis Rifle. I'd go on, but I think you get the idea.
What I'm suggesting is make it so when one character on an account unlocks a costume bit, weapon, or shield all other characters on the account get it as well. It sounds simple, but I'm not a programmer so I have no idea how simple or complex this would be.
There are a few problem areas with this though, so I'll try and solve as many of them as I can now. For starters, this would NOT effect Invention costume pieces. If these were made global unlocks the prices would drop so low you wouldn't be able to give them away and it would make the recipes useless. Also, with the ability to mail items to yourself in I17, it's very easy to get the Recipes and salvage to the right character.
The second problem is with Vanguard pieces and weapons. They are "bought" with in-game "currency" but since the currency is un-tradable, I don't see a problem with making them global unlocks. The prices may need adjusting, but IMO they are high enough as it is.
Third problem is the Epaulets. They are Hero-exclusive and I don't know if costume pieces can be flagged as Hero-only. But would giving them to Villains really be a problem?
I have a feeling that the biggest complaints about this will be from the "I worked hard for my [insert unlockable bit here] on all my characters, so everyone else should too!" crowd, but that is why I'm suggesting it like this. You still have to unlock the bits, but only once. I could have saved a lot of time by suggesting this idea as a Veteran Reward or Booster Pack.
And here's a list of what this idea would effect:
Cotumes: Witch's Hat, Stocking Cap, Victory Laurel, Pumpkin Head, Ear Muffs, Toga, Epaulets, Santa Gloves, Santa Boots, Hellenic Sandals, Naughty Halo, Nice Halo, Hearts pattern, Vanguard costume set, and Roman Armor set.
Weapons and Shields: All unlockable weapons and shields. -
Quote:This.Since it was brought up, Irish has to agree with making the Anniversary badges global.
Preferably retroactively awarding ones that we have on one toon, to all of them.
For some weird reason, my badger does not have the first aniversary badge. I know he was around for the anniversary, but I guess I forgot to log in with him. I was probably a bit overwhelmed with everything since I was a fairly new player (I'd only been playing a month before the first anniversary). And believe it or not, I only have one character with the first anniversary badge that's still around. -
I can't believe I didn't think of this before:
BackAlleyBrawler quote t-shirts! You could have the CoH logo on the shirt with one of BAB's most well known quotes. Examples:
"Did you just use "Casual gamer" and "Purpled-out Warshade" in the same sentence?"
"Because we really hate villains."
"Kneel was overpowered in PVP, so we removed it from everyone in PVE. Eventually we'll remove it from PVP too, but only on the Villain side. Right now it's nerfing accuracy for Villains, so we kind of need it"
"YOU *****!" (this one needs to be in big red letters). -
I think CoX needs more merchandise.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm a Nintendo fanboy, and when I go somewhere I wear one of my many Nintendo t-shirts and hats and I even have a couple of Pokemon plushies in the rear window of my car. I LOVE to show off my fanboy-ness to other people, and I'd really like the ability to do the same thing with CoX.
Merch suggestions:
- Toys: Action figures. While custom figures of player characters would rock, I think some signature characters would be a great starting point.
- Plushies: Again, signature characters are a good starting point, but some enemy mobs would be cool too. I'd be first in line for Captain Mako, Rikti Monkey, and Freakshow Tank plushies.
- Clothing: T-shirts. Some simple blue, red, and black(?) tees with the CoH, CoV, and GR logos respectively. A set of tees with the AT symbols (and maybe a description of the AT on the back) would work as well. Also some tees with villain group symbols (Freakshow, CoT, Arachnos, PPD, etc). And last but not least, a tee that simply says "Everything is a Nemesis plot." -
Quote:They don't look different, but they all have different powers. From the site:7. I can only see the minions and the LTs. every time the take a pan around the pets all I can see is 3 minions and 2 pets that look exactly the same so i am guessing there LTs.
Quote:The hellfire whip and the seven elemental demons--Fiery Demonling, Cold Demonling, Hellfire Demonling, Ember Demon, Hellfire Gargoyle, Demon Prince, and Living Hellfire--are what sets Demon Summoning apart from other Mastermind primary power sets. -
I like the fact that each demon is different. I think I found my new favorite MM set.
-
Holy crap! 7 different demons! Close-up MM attacks! Wicked awesome looking pets! This is everything I want in a MM and more! I'm probably going to end up woth at least 3 Demon Summoners now.

Yep. Rain's falling, wind's blowing, stuff's falling over, and Six Flags closed early Sunday and apparently was closed yesterday and today too. At least it's supposed to be nice out tomorrow.

I once saw a Stalker named "psycho ex-boyfriend"
I've seen several variations of DBZ characters, ranged from "Saiyan Prince" to "Super Saiyaman"
I've also seen several Hulk variations, my favorite being "Bruce Danner". I also had one of my own for a while named "Hulking Thing" (can you guess who else he was based on?} but he was gen'd. -
You'll want to speak with Serge in the Tailor in the northern end of Steel Canyon. He'll give you a mission (defeat 30 Tsoo) and upon completion you'll unlock your second costume slot.
You may also want to speak to the City Representative in the Atlas Park City Hall and complete her series of missions to unlock capes. -
I'm patching my test server now so it's ready when OB starts. I don't think we'll be seing it until tomorrow though.

I hate getting beaten up by somebody else's ambush. I've been hit by DE in King's Row and Family in Mercy. And way back when I was fairly new, a Kheld zoned into KR via the Yellow Line and a group of Nictus spawned inside the train station with her. Luckily, she actually stayed and fought them instead of leaving all the low-level heroes to their fates.

Huntsman: Character, I'm gonna cut your heart out with a spoon!
Wolf Spider: Why not a fork or a knife?
Huntsman Because it's blunt you twit, it'll hurt more!
Dr. Aeon [to his minions]: You! Get me the Wall Street Journal! You two! Fight to the death!
Aside from those, I've always wanted to see the Zombies from a Zombie Acopalypse break out into song. This song. -

Other than here, I tend to go to:
http://www.gamefaqs.com (Sometimes I read an FAQ if I'm bored, other times I hang out on the message board for the latest Pokemon game)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (I'll look up something I want to knpow more about, or I'll I'll hit random Page repeatedly and see what comes up)

New Powersets - Piracy for MMs, Scythe Melee for Stalkers, Staff Melee for all Melee ATs, and actually figure out how to implement Dual Archery, Quad Blades, Quad Pistols, and Carp Melee.
Hire more costume designers to make more Anthro stuff. That way we get Anthro parts and Jay doesn't have to make them.
Make two instances of each PVP zone, one for PVP and one for PVE. PVEers will no longer complain about PVE stuff in a PVP zone and PVPers will no longer complain about PVEers in their PVP zones.
I'd also give players the option to attempt a TF/SF solo. -
1) Badging with my Kat/SR Scrapper. He's just shy of 400 right now.
2) Making my MA arc. I stopped once I decided I didn't like the second mission and I need to remake it.
3) I have three characters I'm "working on" and actually trying to get to 50 instead of just playing them whenever I feel like it, which is what I do with the rest of my chars. They are Kaos Blak (32 Claws/Nin Stalker), Break Stuff (27 IIRC, Arachnos Huntsman), and Not a Nemesis Plot (4 AR/NRG Blaster)
4) Creating Not A Nemesis Plots other costumes. He's a Nemesis Automaton and he'll get a "Civilian" costume, three hero group costumes, and one Nemesis costume. I love the idea so much that I already made his Nemesis costume and have ideas for the first hero one.
