    First, I understand what everyone is saying. I just threw the question out there, that's all. I never insisted nobody answered me. I am just commenting. I don't expect anyone to drop anything. I got answers, not that I was looking for anything specific in response, I was just commenting. Thank you everybody who responded.

    How do you balance any power? That is for the Devs. There are powers that people would like to see, growth or shrinking are two of them. I don't really want to get into a debate other than asking if it was something that might be considered down the road.

    Btw, I don't mind roleplaying, but I also actually want the powers. As an aside, maybe customization is the way to go for that, e.g. optical blasts, and other powers that could be done using that instead.

    Growth for example, grappling, water powers, there are others that have been mentioned that might require more than one animation to execute. I don't know all of them. I do know that it has been mentioned on various occasions. I don't know all of what the current engine can or cannot do. I just know that I see it quite regulary.

    So then, will there at some point be City 2, so that they can expand the range of powers. I don't think there will be. I mean we do get a broad range, but it limits others as well. Interesting to see what way the Devs go on this one.

    As I said, the system by which powers are engineered and interact with the world, characters, npcs, etc. is pretty rigid. So are the AI scripting system, the targeting system, and some others.

    These are what I am talking about. These seem to be rigid, and I am wondering if they would require an upgrade at some point, not saying now, to the next level of tech. Hopefully I am making sense.

    I guess what I was talking about are certain powers are not doable because of the engine. Not sure if vehicles is a part of that as well. Correct me if I am wrong, but also being able to further customize costumes and things of that nature cannot be done. I was simply commenting because I have seen references to the current engine not being able to do something. It could be graphical in nature though, and some good points were brought up as well about Devs only releasing something if they can do it right.

    I am wondering, there are limitations to the current engine, that won't allow for some powers and different types of things that players would like to see. I know GR is a big expansion, but from what I understand, it is not a change to the engine, or maybe I am wrong.

    My question is, when do they consider going to another engine, or is that something they would even consider?

  9. Set specific. So let's say for Fire Blasters, have one called Flame of the Phoenix, but only usable by Blasters. Sets like that. Kitsune, do you ever take a break from the forums, lol.
  10. I was thinking, how about IO sets, maybe make the sets of three or four with the additional benefits, but, based on each of the power types. So a set for Fire Blasters, Energy Melee, Katana's, Kinetics, Gravity, Storm Summoning. But one set for each of the powers in addition to the other IO sets available. We have them overall, but why not specialize for each specific power. Reason why I suggest this in addition to the other IO's available, is because it would allow for greater customization for each set, not just in general terms like Accurate to Heals, or Melee, or PBOA.

  16. I agree Ad Astra, but this is an opportunity to do something a bit different. Just because things are the way they are does not mean they can't change. Besides, just throwing out some options, but you are right, it does not match the typical secondary, and for that reason I am going down in flames, may day, may day! lol.

    Sometimes I think though the whole thought process of it is the way it is needs to be challenged. Gives opportunities to flesh out heroes and villains.

    So really I17 is part of GR. I18 will be whatever they have planned, new content or so on and so forth.
  18. Why not a secondary for blasters that is different. One that has melee, but also maybe has some defence or damage resistance available. A mixed bag really. It gives another option for blasters, and heck, that could go across all of them really, except scrappers and tanks.

    I downloaded it, but I am just trying to understand the numbers. When you use Mid's, can you cut it off at certain levels, just to plan one stage at a time?

    Follow up, for damage that adds let's say 25%, and the power does 20 points, it would then do 25 points.

    Hover for example, I have a level 10 blaster that has this. The defense is 1.75%. If I add a defense IO that adds ten percent, then the defense would be 1.92% roughly, is that correct?

    When I have an accuracy modifier from let's say an IO that gives 16% accuracy bonus. Is that truly 16% or X 1.16 modifier, and did I just say the same thing.

    Same for resistance. Let's say I slot a damage resistance IO that gives 20% damage reduction, does that mean I take 20% less damage. So an attack that normal deals 10 points would only deal 8 instead.

    I'm not a numbers guy, but when I slot something that says 20%, then I look at the defense or DR and it changed from 1 to 1.20 against ranged attacks.

    I really do hate numbers, lol.
  23. What I would like to see in that list is a mix of melee, defense and ranged(thrown objects) attacks. Make it no all offense, but allow for some defense as well. So MA with some defence attached to it. This might be too strong for a blaster, but I think it's a good mix.
