Snow seems to be available to everyone. Fireflies, like the pre-20 capes from the booster packs, are only available to males.
I guess the devs hate females as much as they hate Europeans and villains (I kid!). -
Quote:So, am I understanding this correctly that we really don't need to worry about the character fitting in at Studio 55? It's perfectly fine if they stick out like a sore thumb? This is completely up to you and don't forget the name will be a big part of the design too. Don't call a beefy, evil, maniacal looking character Teddy Bear or Cuddly Prince...although now that I'm thinking about it, it sounds rather appealing.
Anyway, let your imagination guide your mouse! -
Thanks so much, I love it when you do these. My only complaint is you don't do them often enough!

Does anyone have any idea which roll is the most valuable use of AE tickets at level 30? All the advice I can find on the forum says it's best to roll 35-39. That's what I usually do, but I have some lower level toons I really want to play and I want to convert those tickets into inf NAO. I understand this isn't as profitable as using a level 50 to earn tickets, but fun is my priority here.

Like many, I don't like the copy pasted buildings. However, I wouldn't really mind if each zone had its own copy pasted buildings. This is one of the reasons I much prefer redside. If I log in a character and can't remember where I left it, I can see right away that I'm in Grandville or Mercy Island without looking at the map. There is still more similarity than I would like, but it's much better than blueside. Most of the zones in Paragon City all look the same to me. I would much prefer if each zone had its own flavour. I don't expect every zone to be as awesome as Croatoa, but when I think of a zone, I want to immediately think of the unique style associated with it.
I would also love if there were more iconic structures. Just as Paris has the Eiffel Tower and London has Big Ben. Cap Au Diable has that awesome huge atom (I remember that I gasped with joy when I first saw it) that is iconic of Cap Au Diable. Slightly less so is the clock tower in Mercy and the huge Lord Recluse statue in Grandville. I would love it if more of the zones had some kind of iconic thing to associate with that zone. -
If I can find the time, I'm planning to create one this summer. So go ahead and chime in with any feature requests now if you like.

Quote:Actually I haven't done the last Ouroboros SF. I forgot about that one. Thanks, I'll do that tonight. :-DHave you done Mender Silos's SF? (lists as a SF, but can be started solo.) 46-50.
Quote:Hamidon Raid? Mothership Raid? I know you said you play at odd hours, but it's more content to consider.
I was considering it when I was working on my sixth arc just now. ^_^ But no, nobody ever plays them. The most people who played one of my arcs was the first one, which was played by a whole four people. -
My first level 50 (and still my favourite toon) seems to have run out of things to do solo. The toon is a villain.
- I've done all the story arcs from Grandville contacts including the unlockable ones.
- I've done all the story arcs from Rikti War Zone and Cim.
- I've done newspapers and the highest level Mayhem Mission to the point where I'm sick to death of them.
- I've spent months doing loads of AE arcs and I'm getting pretty sick of AE now, too.
- I would prefer not to do flashbacks, because I don't like to get scaled. Besides, I prefer to experience those as I level up my other toons and not be sick of them by then.
- I want content. I don't care about badges or loot.
- Strikeforces are great, but I often play in the early hours of the morning, forcing me to solo. Besides, I'm starting to get sick of the strikeforces, after having done them all so many times.
Have I exhausted the end game content or is there something somewhere I missed? Should I give this toon a rest until Going Rogue or is there anything else I can do? -

I guess we have very different perceptions of why there are more people blueside. I kind of assumed it was to do with the fact that there is far more content and zones blueside, loads of neat goodies with special mission mechanics, and especially some really awesome content like Croatoa. Damn, I almost want to go Vigilante just for Croatoa. Are you serious? I don't go much on the forums, but are there actually people who say there aren't inflated rewards blueside? With everyone I've played with in-game, it's been taken for granted as a completely uncontroversial fact that blueside rewards are inflated. Are we all just imagining that, for instance, there are a lot more merit rewards to be had on a TF than a SF, because we're all so silly? I'm a little thrown out of whack by that claim, like someone just told me Earth rotates around Mars and it's silly to say otherwise or something.

Ah! You're right! This happens on every toon. Males with high collars get all those options from level 1, but females have to unlock the cape mission to get those options. I guess my friend and I are going crazy and I didn't do the cape mission. That is really weird though. I hope you can see why it confused me so much.
-
Thanks, mate, but I'm not here to complain. I don't mind running the cape mission again. I just want to find out whether there is a bug or if I'm just missing something. If this is a bug, I thought I should bring some attention to it.
I usually just do an in-game bug report when I find a bug, but I figured that support wouldn't believe me, just as several on this thread didn't believe me, which is why I brought it up here.
Would others agree that this is indeed a bug then? -
I thought that was exactly the problem we're trying to fix here - they're luring people to go blue since there are inflated rewards blueside and it needs to be balanced out.
-
Quote:That's exactly my point. That's why you can see that when the toon is female, I can get the magic and Valkyrie capes, but as shownUnless I'm mistaken, you can use the magic and valkyrie capes because you PAID for them. I believe that these capes are granted independent of the cape mission and can be used before reaching level 20. (I'm not at my home computer to check.)
here, I only get Basic, Arcane and Valkyrie on the high collar cape. Then when the toon is male, as shown
here, I have all the cape mission capes available on a high collar cape, including the long cape with fringe that he is currently wearing. The options are only available when male and using high collar. I can't reproduce that high collar cape when the toon is female, because those unlockable options are only avaible when it is male.
Quote:Is it possible that you have NOT done the cape mission on this character? Maybe your friend who remembers doing the mission with you is mistaken about which CHARACTER. -
Sorry SwellGuy, but I don't quite get it. You seem to start out by saying that it wouldn't work as a fix, but then everything you say afterwards seems to support the idea that it would work.Wouldn't this work out then? If there is something equivalent to a Luck of the Gambler or Numina proc that you can only get redside, then you would have people going redside to get them, or buying from those who went redside to get them. In your terms, you will have buyers/sellers/drop producers moving to redside. You will also have buyers who will be forced to buy specifically from villains if they want a certain item. What am I missing here?
-
Sorry for double post, but could anyone please take a look at the pics and either confirm or debunk this as a bug? Or let me know if there is any more useful information I could provide.
-
Yeah, well, I can complain back about the disadvantages that villains have. But excepting a few griefers, wouldn't that solution work to balance out a merged market?
EDIT: You know, it just occurred to me. The incarnate system seems like a perfect opportunity to fix this. I assume we will get some new items for slotting up our incarnate levels. So all the devs need to do is put some valuable new recipes or salvage into content that is only available redside. Perhaps some SF that awards the valuable item, and that is the only way you can get it. Or perhaps there is only one enemy group that drops it and you have to go redside to find them.
Then heroes will need what villains have to sell and players will also have good incentive to go redside at least for a while. If they implement this with the correct balance, this should make merged markets feasible and should also solve the problem of Rogue Isle becoming a ghost town.
Again, I'm no economist, so correct me if I'm embarassingly wrong. -
Wouldn't it work to somehow give villains a little bit better access to rare stuff? A small increased rare drop rate, or a redside SF that only villains can do with really good rare stuff opportunities? Then go ahead and merge the markets and if the devs get the numbers right, it should balance out. Of course I'm no economist, so correct me if I'm horribly wrong. Heroes would have to be real bastards to complain about a measure like this one considering how many advantages they already have.

I noticed something else when I was taking pictures. The cape isn't slot-specific. It's mantle and gender specific. The cape works on all three slots if, and only if, the toon is male and using the high collar mantle. This is significant because the slot I had the cape on already was male and had a high collar mantle. The other two slots were female and had no cape.
Unfortunately, I noticed the picture quality was very bad after I uploaded them. If it's too bad to see what's going on, let me know and I'll take new screnshots.
Here is the toon on the slot that already had the cape.
Here is the tailor screen, trying to get a full mantle cape with male sex selected. Only Valkyrie is available.
Here is the tailor screen, showing that all cape options are available on a male using high collar mantle.
Here is the same toon at the tailor screen, trying to get a high collar cape as a female. Only Basic, Arcane, and Valkyrie are availble.
Here is the same as above trying to get a full mantle. Only Valkyrie is available again.
Quote:Ah, thanks. That's a helpful clue. I thought the only new i17 missions were those new 20-29 arcs and the taskforce update, so it's good to know there's more new content, too!Remember that the Cape Mission status was reset when they updated the cape mission, so that even though you had already done the old cape mission, you will get prompted to do it again.
In that case, I shouldn't be able to have the capes from the booster packs and vet rewards either, right? -
I have three costume slots, one of which has a cape. I tried to put a cape on my third costume slot, but I don't have access to capes at the tailor anymore. I still have the single shoulder cape from my veteran reward, the high collar cape from the magic pack (though not with the extra options you get after cape mission), and the Valkyrie cape. I do not have access to all the other capes, the ones you get after doing the mission. I also tried loading a saved costume file with a cape and it would not load.
I might have assumed I was going crazy, and that I just thought I had done the cape mission, but hadn't. But my second costume slot still has the cape, and my friend who I did the mission with remembers doing it with me. He hasn't lost his cape, and he even tried deleting his cape costume, then going back to get one again and he definitely still has access.
Oddly enough, this is only on one toon. All my other toons that have done their cape missions still have full access to capes.
When I go to City Representative, she gives me the cape mission again, so I'm going to run through it again when I have some time and see what happens. If I get my cape back after the mission, then I don't really mind, but I thought I should bring up this problem on the forum. -
Servers up and market working! Very annoying that it was down for several days, but I'm thrilled that the server maintenance period was so short. In other words:
To whoever decided to push through i17 despite reported bugs (casting a suspicious eye at marketing): A good slap on the wrist
To whoever was working on the server maintenance: A promotion and pay raise is in order! -
Quote:Do you really live by that logic? Yesterday, I didn't have a cold. Today, I have a cold and the news says workers in Greece are on strike. Therefore, the strike caused my cold. Yesterday, I ate cereal for breakfast and my cat was at home. Today I ate eggs and bacon and my cat ran away. Therefore, eggs and bacon makes cats run away. Yesterday I didn't have a spot on my chin and I watched Evil Dead before I went to bed. Today I woke up with a spot on my chin. Therefore, Evil Dead causes acne.I don't care what anyone says. Its i17.
simple math=
works before i17
doesn't work after i17
problem is i17.

If you seriously live your life by that logic, you must be in a state of constant confusion.
