  1. What if the game was making enough money to continue operations, but the biz ppl at NCSoft figured they could make more money investing in their other titles, specifically GW2. This is the only way this closure makes any sense to me.
  2. Its all a conspiracy to keep us from getting a MA secondary for blasters. The combined awesomeness of all the */ma blasters running around was just too much awesome for NCSoft to handle. It would have exposed their other games for what they really are: not awesome.

Lol. I've been pleading for years for an ma secondary, and just when it seems within grasp its pulled away. Its not hard to dream up all the badazz power set combos and theme characters to go along with it.

Seriously, this closing down feels like a human tragedy. I know it isn't a real bonafide tragedy, but my heart doesn't know the difference. Reading some of these threads brings tears to my eyes. I was just starting to get my daughter to play this wonderful game with me.
  3. I remember coming in third place in a costume contest with the first toon I ever created.
I remember making friends in Infinity and regularly playing with them for my first 6 months in the game.
I remember the first toon I created that felt really powerful, Heh Man, a BS/inv scrapper.
I remember mg first level 50 toon, Combat Fembot.
I remember the time I joined a lowbie sewer team (before DFB) and we steamrolled it all the way to Kings row and our first bank mission. We had so much fun together that we later formed a short-lived Supergroup, Team Extream.
I remember the first time I played the mission arcs in First Ward and being in awe of how well it was done.
I remember being the lone tank on an otherwise all controller team and being in awe of the combined power they brought to bear. I wasn't able to contribute anything of importance.
I remember the Strong and Pretty thread that kept getting necr'd over the years. It was always good for a laugh.
  4. Even if the game was underperforming, I find it hard to believe that killing it off was the only solution. I'd like to think that they considered a lot of different options first before they came to this drastic step.

******* it! I was going to upgrade back to VIP once I24 came out.
  5. Hello. First of all, i absolutely love the power set combination. I can solo well and help teams out tremendously, even with SOs. However, I'm ready to take the "next step" with this toon and start IOing him out. As of this writing, I'm level 46. I've already picked up LoTGs back when they were on sale on the store, and placed them in my mules. I'm not quite perma dom or perma hasten with this build, but i'm really close sometimes depending on when hasten is active and if there is a kin on the team. This build also has severe endurance issues, even with domination being up so often. I didn't bother to slot the SOs in Mids, but you can imagine they are the standard accuracy, damage, recharge, holds, etc. The SOs aren't the point anyway. I want to slot in some IOs. I have a budget of 250,000,000 inf, so I can only slot uncommons at this point. I need help with perma doming and endurance, and once that is taken care of I'd like improved accuracy and damage. I'm not in love with the powers I took, so I'm open to anything. Ultimately, I'd like to be competitive on high-end teams and farming, so I can earn enough merits/inf/rares to start thinking about purple sets.

  6. A martial arts or hand-to-hand combat-based secondary for Blasters is long overdue. I'm not sure what the devs are waiting on. There is a well established history of players asking for this kind of secondary. Theme-wise, I would love to have a Dual Pistols/Martial Arts Manipulation blaster.

This is more of a problem in early levels, I imagine, and seems to be worse on a Brute since Build momemtum comes before Follow Through. Here's the scenario: take all the primary powers up to Build Momentum, don't slot for recharge or get hasten....now jump in a mob. It goes like this: Sweep-> sweep -> crush -> follow through -> sweep. Now wait forever for your powers to recharge while your Build Momentum is wasting away.
  8. Thanks for the advice, everyone. I rerolled my TW/EA scrapper. I'm at level 14 so far, picked up hasten early, slotted for accuracy and endurance reduction. I've skipped Build Momentum for the time being. I'm soloing at -1/x5 w/ bosses and loving it.
  9. I currently have a lvl 13 scrapper Titan/Energy Aura, and so far I am underwhelmed. I picked up all primary powers up to Build Momentum and a few secondary powers. I haven't picked up hasten yet nor have I slotted for endurance reduction on anything yet. Between the recharge issues of TW and endurance issues of my build in general (especially with toggles), and Momentum requiring a successful hit to accumulate, I feel like I under perform. I think I should re-roll this toon as a TW/WP or TW/Regen and pick up hasten as soon as its available, and start slotting for endurance and accuracy. Also, I'd be willing to go Tank or Brute...just took a stab with scrapper for their critical hit ability. I really like the concept of TW and want to figure out how to enjoy it.

Has anyone else felt the same way and was able to overcome these limitations?

    Brute Help!

WM is a good set like any other set. It has some knock up and knock down which comes in very handy. It also hits very hard. I have a WM brute and he was much fun to play. More importantly (IMO) you've thought up a good theme for a character and power sets that thematically work with what you are trying to accomplish, so you should have lots of fun.
  11. I agree with OP and what others have stated as a good way of dealing with broadcast spam. I resubbed a few days ago to see what the commotion was about, and the AE spam in broadcast is HUGELY annoying. It drowns out CCs and ppl looking for sewer teams. Personally, if they don't do something about this soon I won't renew my subscription.
  12. No offense, but I hate all holiday events. I think MMOs could do without them but for some reason they all feel like they need to do something around the holidays.
