Aslo some people comment on a build with thought to costume and theme, ie a good build for a certain look.
But more likley in this case, they just like the shields :P -
Also download something like stinger http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ and make sure your virus scanner is up to date.
System Restore is _not_ a safe way of getting rid of viruses.
And doesnt stop any passwords already stolen. You should change any net banking ones.
Super Antispyware another good antinasty program for spyware and such. -
I'm attempting to copy CoX from one computer to another. I've read Billz Guide for Moving CoH or Installing Test and in past havent had troubles with the process.
At the moment though, it gets past check summing and hangs on 'downloading file manifest'.
0:00 time remaning, 0kb/sec etc.
Any suggestion what I am missing?
~
Edit: I deleted everything from main folder leaving subdirectorys (like piggs) instead of just th checksum file, and that seems to have done the trick.
Most likely overkill but only took 10 minutes to redownload those files. -
I hardy ever touch the mouse. Save for powers like O portal which exists mostly hidden in a tray 4 behind my inspiration tray.
I use the arrow keys near the numpad for my movement needs, which leaves my other hand mostly free for tabbing targets and hitting the number keys, plus alt or control plus numberm with some powers bound to the numpad like speedboosting/healing/shielding teammates. -

It's not just you. This change has frustrated me and my emoting greatly, but there is a fix.
Copy this exact entry to your keybinds.txt file or custom .txt file.
; "show chat$$beginchat ;"
Or another way:
/bind ; "show chat$$beginchat ;"

Thank you very much. -
In the recent past, when I pressed the ; on keyboard it would send focus to the chat input with a ; there ready for my emoting.
Now pressing ; (without the chat box having focus) results in sending a / instead.
Is it just me or a bug? -
Thanks very much for the link.
Silly me was looking at http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Category:Temporary_Powers which isnt as ordered as nicely and didnt think to look further. -
Hi,

After watching the Red Dwarf episode I've never had any trouble remembering how to spell Ouroboros. They thought it was a wierd way to indicate what they wanted his name to be, "Our Rob or Ros."

Hah thats right, Now i will never forget again,

SwellGuy: I tried for many, many months when this forum was launched to educate my brethren (the poor) on how you can play and with minimal market use get rich and how you can use the flippers to help yourself and to be patient.
Then I got tired of the same old ignorant positions trotted out as fact. But there were more hostile posters to slap the fools around then.
I find myself less and less interested in educating since there are plenty of well written guides for those truly interested in learning.

Over the past couple of years, I've appreciated your thoughts on using the market. Thank you kindly for everything that you've been doing because it's helped me, and I'm certain other people listened whilst ignoring the trollish comments.

I too would like to say thanks for your posts -
You can
a) Wait 15 months for vet reward wings
b) Buy the valkyrie pack
c) Get the invention costume part from a drop or buy it from wentworths/black market. Then you have to craft it. (easy done)
All are different types of wings.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page is great for newbie questions too.
eg see http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Wings for pics of the different types of wings, and for more about inventions see http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Inventions.
Also, Welcome
PS level doesnt matter. You could get wings from any of above methods at any level (I think, inventing _may_ require level 5).
Probably worth noting that wings dont equal the flight power. -
Congrats winners.
And I want my Rikti Monkey Plushie too. -

Today, Landon Fuller posted a proof-of-concept exploit for an unpatched vulnerability in the Java Runtime Environment currently in use by OS X. While this particular proof-of-concept is meant to be harmless, the vulnerability itself currently affects OS X, including OS X 10.5.7, the latest shipping version of OS X. This vulnerability could be exploited to perform "drive-by-downloads" commonly used as a means to infect computers with spyware, or any arbitrary command with the permissions of the executing user. All a user has to do is visit a web page hosting a malicious java applet to be exploited. Until Apple patches their implementation of Java, we recommend that users disable Java applets in their web browser.

A new variant of the DNSChanger Trojan Horse, DNSChanger 2.0e, has been discovered in the wild. The trojan horse arrives in a disk image (some samples are called serial_Avid.Xpress.Pro.5.7.2.dmg), and is again disguised as an installer for "MacCinema," just like the 2.0d variant. Once installed, the trojan horse behaves in a similar manner to past variants.

Security Alert: A trojan is being distributed with pirated copies of Apple's iWorks 09.
Pirated copies of iWorks 09 are being distributed with a trojan bundled in the installer package. Intego has released a warning recommending that users should not download iWorks 09 from pirate software sites.
The malicious software is installed in the startup items folders ( /System/Library/StartupItems/iWorkServices ) where it has full root privilege rights. Once installed the trojan connects to a remote server notifying it of the infected computers location on the net awaiting further instruction including the ability of downloading additional components.
Users concerned of infection may use third party software from security vendors to remove the trojan horse.
New Mac Exploit to be detailed at Blackhat DC 09 security conference held in Washington DC in February. Vincenzo Lozzo's presentation ' Let Your Mach-O Fly' will demonstrate how it is possible to inject a binary into the machine without leaving traces on the hard disk. Read more at ars technica.

What the heck is diseased, dsyfunctional or mentally disturbed about "Allowing characters owned by the same player to interact " -
It seems to me that merits will be quickly adjusted downwards when speedsters change favourite taskforces, and will be slow to change up (as said that the times are all determined and most unlikly to change).
The impact of the teleporter to mission power is going to speed up times even more, which kinda unsettles me. As neat as the booster packs are, having to buy one to stay within a decent merit/time range suxs, which seems certain to happen. -

If everyone gets the reward on Flashback, why cant that be changed for story arcs as well? -

QUESTION: How will you be looking at merits for story arcs with PUG teams.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can anyone explain to me how this is different than the current setup with the reward window and the arc bonus XP only going to the mission owner? This is what they made shared missions for. (now, some aspects of sharing mission completion don't work as well as they could, I'll grant you...)
[/ QUOTE ]
Merits are better than XP, or harder to achieve anyway.
If devs are expecting players to acheive x amounts of merits by 50, by being the story arc holder x amount of times or running taskforces where as many of my characters have leveled a lot without doing story arcs. Those characters under merits would of been better off soloing.
It really seems a no brainer, run your own story arc and get merits or run someone elses and they get XP boost and merits. In terms of time for reward, why excatly does the mission holder 'merit' the extras.
When you get raptor pack, or other safeguard/mayhem powers, you get it from being a part of the team, not just mission holder. I bet there would be a lot less people running others bank missions if that was the case. Merits are going to be perceived as more important than a jetpack for a while imo.
Shared missions dont really work in PUG world. Different contacts, different level ranges etc etc. Trying to do shared midnight arcs is enough a pain in [censored]. At least thats been my experience.
I think (that is without serious consideration to flaws as yet) inflate merits (eg x10 for current rewards or similar) then giving 1 per part of mission arc for each player would be fine.
If its meant to be time for reward, then reward time played! -
QUESTION: How will you be looking at merits for story arcs with PUG teams.
I'm worried about the effect on teaming with merits only going to the task holder (team leader probably).
With so many on them inloving touring all over the map, hunts etc it doesnt seem worth it risk/time vs reward to be doing other peoples arcs.
I'd suggest inflating the merits system, and enable a merit for all for each bit of any arc. -
After midnight when? Gametime, or a US time?

But they don't get the normal Good vs. Evil goodies of the jump pack, the Pocket D teleporter, and the justice and sinister costumes.
And while it'll be the package that Mac people are pointed to...a new PC user could get that package and download the PC client, while a Mac user wanting the old GvE goodies could buy the old package and download the Mac client.
I'm a mac user who will be switching to running the game on his Mac (probably...my PC is newer and has a better video card than my Mac, so I may stick with the PC), and I won't get those goodies automatically because I'm using the client, as I understand it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont see why you wouldnt get the goodies. You'll keep your toons with all thier stuff I'd imagine.
You will most likley be able to buy emac client and have all the goodies added to each character and get an extra months subscription like Good vs evil or DVD collectors work.
~
Good news for mac users, even if it brings out all the OS tripe about whats better.

Not real pleased about more micro payments, espically as this one will be most likley be seen as 'needed' to completing TFs quick and all that. If it has a short recharge time it could really change a few dynamics around, and if short enough i can see less people picking recall friend....
It is how the good vs evil extra items were done, so it isnt anything new. (and damn that jump pack & pocket d thing are useful) -
Pretty nice.
Odd ball collection of generic toons on first look of 'Pick a side and fight' thing.
Merged CoX icons look cool.
The iconic heroes and villains look way better. -

I havent had much trouble getting most badges within a few hours with lots of good drops salavage wise. Buster has been harder.
Fort Mercy redside was pretty horrendously feral though, I started new toon, and had to dodge lots of purples running through following ToTers. Was off peak time, but still too many for the drones to zap. Died before I realised what what happening.
