I do wish we could skip the countdown, or at least let us use alt-tab without interrupting the countdown.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've discovered recently that if I hit the Windows key immediately after hitting the "Quit to Login Screen" button, the Start menu pops up but the countdown keeps going in the background, so I can switch over to another window while I wait. Gotta hit it straight away though - leave it any longer than maybe half a second and it'll interrupt the countdown.
[/ QUOTE ]
I played in window mode, so can just hit the minimise button during count down. -

So I have to buy the game - AGAIN, just for one little thing? Lame.
[/ QUOTE ]
At least you CAN buy it. I've bought almost all the packs and extra goodies this game has, but one thing I don't have and really want is the Arachnos cape logo, and afaik, it was only available in the COV Collector's Edition DVD, and I don't believe that is available anywhere.

They are often on Ebay too. -
Buying premade IO's isnt that expensive.
With patientence, for the generic IOs its likley to be cheaper than making them yourself.
I get most generic IOs for between 40,000 to 90,000 from levels 30-45, placing a bid when I finnish leveling/playing and coming back three-four days later. Or place you bids 3-4 days before you think you will need them.
I also tend to slot the low level IO's. Level 10/15/20 generic IOs should cost less that 10,000, and often buy it now for 5,000.
I like how they don't go grey as you level, saving me a bit of INF, though never really been one for making sure my enhacnments are always +3. -
My best overpaid amount was 80 million for a generic IO.
Not sure how, as taking out a 0 still leaves 8 million which is a lot of an generic IO.
Was a very nice surprise though. -
[ QUOTE ]
This will make PvP IO sets almost impossible to obtain for the casual PvPers.
I feel sorry for the PvPers on low populated servers. One more reason for them to head over to freedom.
GG devs. PvP IOs will make purples look cheap.
[/ QUOTE ]
Gotta add, I was shopwing a friend PvP in arena the other night. After killing him, I found myself say now wait five more minutes so there is a chance of a reward for who ever kills each other next.
Not exciting. -

Won't care either way.
And there will be doom through the forum no matter which way too. -

You can change it preferences, until the semi-mythical forum change over.
I like the proc for a slot for same reason as above, its nice ot have a chance of end after doing a nuke or being sapped -

Theft affects you in every power I have seen it in.
It is especially awesome in dark regen
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks -
Is it the same with the "Theft of Essence: chance for +End"? The target getting the +end...
I assume it is, which is pretty silly for an accurate healing set, the target is going to always be the enemy, and its a newish set IIRC. -

No, these folks arrived at account creation that way.

What annoys me the most is that making the "clear last room" objective shows up in the description as "kill all" :-/

This annoys me a lot too. -
Awesome guide - Thanks for the work that went into it.

MMOs are about balance and even if you take farming out of the equation, AE is not balanced.
-Regular missions have contacts you have to earn/find, then continually travel to until you get their cell. AE puts the contact right next to you.
-Regular missions have doors that can be on the other end of the zone or even in another zone entirely. AE always has the door right next to you.
-If you want to go to the hospital in a regular mission it could put you hundreds of yards away from the mission door, the AE hospital always puts you right next to the mission door.
-Random missions give you random salvage and recipe drops. AE tickets allow you to more selectively choose your drops.
-If you're having to buy enhancements with influence you will have to find a vendor selling your Origin, then you'll have to wade through the sometimes oddly named inventory list (curse you Magic Origin). If you use AE tickets you travel a few feet to a single person who offers not only every type of regular enhancement, they even have a nifty menu that lets you select the type of enhancement you're looking for.
These are just a few of the examples of how convenient AE is compared to regular content. Why does AE not have ANY downfalls to balance all of its amazing features that dwarf the regular content?
[/ QUOTE ]
In theory, this is all balanced by there being no "end of mission" reward in terms of XP/Influence/Prestige. In practice...not so much.
[/ QUOTE ]
Would increasin Non-AE content mission bonuses be a decent idea? I would highly suggest spreading the Story Arc Reward Bonus to the entire team instead of just the leader.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be great imo, story arcs should be given to all on team.
Otherwsie, one person getsthe rewards and the whole teams has to wait for fed exs, or zone a lot etc. All the minor annoyances for little of the benefit.
Radios/Papers are not a lot different to just running random AE missions as far as I'm concerned. -
The kin powers aren't ghetto
I like them better though as no combat supression
-
Yes & Yes.
Mostly to real life freinds I've intro'd to the game, or for SG related stuff.
The last email I got looked great & perhaps the longest i've ever been sent before it disappeared by mistake as i mass deleted the spam surronding it.
Now I also take the time to check them carefully. Still wonder what it was. -

Add me to the list of people who regularly impose on strangers to help me transfer inf and have never been burned.
I just camp Atlas and ask lowbie toons - especially those making purchases at the Training Enhancement stores - if they'd like to make a little startup cash.
50k to a lowbie is a really nice sweat-saver, especially when all you have to do is hang around Atlas for 5 mins and go thru the Trade process twice.
I've never been turned down, never been burned, and the lowbies end up thanking me sincerely.
If I'm feeling generous (which I most often am), I'll actually give them 5.5m, and Tell them to give me just 5m back, and keep 500k for themselves.
I do the generous thing primarily with lowbies with No or Very Few Vet badges, mostly they're just bonkers with gratitude.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've replied to dozens of requests in broadcasts redside and blueside to transfer inf and commonly holloween salavge; more often the tip is a million. I'd probably refuse 50k - probably already made that much with inspirations from the tutorial if on a lowbie
If all they are transferring is less than 1 million plus the halloween stuff, I also refuse the tip. I've been surprised how many are just tranfsering little amounts like that.
Then again, I feel inf rains like water, and despite being easily able to transfer funds between my and my daughter's account, its less work just to collect it normally. -
Thanks very much for the info & explanation.
Interesting, so its possible to heal more than you harmed... yikes. -
If I put a IO with a chance for x% damage in spectral wounds, does the damage it (may) do not get healed?
I'm guessing no, but ?
Thanks -

I've got my own base on both the blue and red sides, just because of the convenience factor mentioned above. If all you're doing is flipping recipes and salvage, it's not necessary. But if you're going to do much crafting, you can save yourself a LOT of travelling time.
[ QUOTE ]
No, I even used trial accounts to pad my villain groups to get prestige to make sure I could have bins for storage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Warning that this doesn't work anymore.I tried it. Trial accounts aren't allowed to join Super/Villian Groups anymore. I had to subscribe a second account for a month to do my padding.
[/ QUOTE ]
It was a long time ago when I did it. But there are people around here who will roll up a temp guy to help people fill their SGs with their alts and then delete that character.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure if you delete the characters it deletes the 'sign up' prestige with it unless you're also over number of toons to get the bonus (15?). -

Yeah, I know about those. I just want them like the ones that you can just click on in game already. You know, the emote icon down next to chat? Click on that and have them all come up...All of them, not just what is there already.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't really have time right now to go through the quickchat menu and correlate it with our list of emotes to see what's missing. I also can't add any emote that's restricted by a badge, vet reward, invention, or booster pack.
But if someone would like to give me a list of emotes that everyone can use but aren't in the quickchat menu right now...I'll add them in.

Perhaps (re drasticaly inflated opinion). Or you vastly under rate how many lurkers use marketing posts for information, or how that information is dasiy chained along.
[/ QUOTE ]
I spent a lot of time and energy in here blowing the horn for Dark Astoria, back in the early days of the market when "everything" was too expensive and "only 50's" could afford anything.
Farming DA and selling drops could make anyone rich.
The thread went on and on, and eventually I convinced all but the most cement-headed reprobates that it worked.
The result?
DA was still empty every time I went there.
I did turn on quite a few people to the joys of blowing up zombies, but the number wasn't even a drop in the ocean of the larger game world.
I'll agree that with things that are super simple with zero entry requirements there can be a snowball effect. Meow farms, fer instance.
But for anything with higher requirements, the #'s won't be meaningful.
[/ QUOTE ]
But street sweeping DA is hard work when there is much easier ways to collect the INF raining down.
I think PVP io farming is close to a case of zero hard work, with the needing two accounts being the harder entry requirment.
That said, if you had two accounts, and saw the threads listing the huge inf they generate with PvP farming, you'd try it.
The 1200 odd views this topic has had, your right about it not being on radar in terms of greater game though.
I agree with you though, that most market posts make very little impact.
That the flipping of generic IOs still is profitable despite the many times its been outed as a steady money maker shows to me not too much notice is taken.
In short, I think you are probably right. -

Is the Jetpack Quartermaster in Grandville new? I never saw that before (but then, it DID take me a month to spot those 'Abandoned Laboratories' scattered around too...)

Not new, at least one issue, maybe two.
There is one in shadow shard for heroes too. -

Look at my posts through this thread, I've been consistent.
[/ QUOTE ]
I really shouldn't keep this going, as it was stray curiosty that prompted my post in the first place; but what does your consistency have to done with it? Does consistent equal clearly written or correct? Are you changing the goal posts of what we are/were discussing?
This is your quote in full, and your first comment in this thread, and what puzzled me idly.

That said, the thing that irritates me most about the pieces isn't that they're gone - but that the tailor wants to *charge* us for things we're not willingly changing...or that are simply rearranged on a menu!
[/ QUOTE ]
This happens to be my major complaint.
[/ QUOTE ]
I really cant see how you can read as anything other than "the thing that irritates me most about the pieces isn't that they're gone - but that the tailor wants to *charge* us for things we're not willingly changing" or the thing that irritates me most about the pieces isn't that they're gone - but that the tailor wants to *charge* us for things that ... are simply rearranged on a menu" as anything other than the inf being the important factor.
You can now return to being confrontational about my reading comprehension than acknowledging what you wrote wasn't what you intended.
