Quote:Whatever you pick will be fun!whats better a plant/thron dom or a plant troller, and which is more fun, why, give everything! and also whats the best secondary for a plant troller?
thanks
Plant is pretty unique. I have taken several to 50 on each side,
and enjoyed them a lot!

Quote:Interesting....Honestly, on the list of Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, and GR in general, Demon Summoning is at the bottom of my list.
Sorry to disagree with you, but DP applies to multiple ATs while DS only applies to one, and GR applies to the entire game. You know what they say about the needs of the many...
We have already seen DP, so we can cross that off the list.
We already know when GR is coming. That is set,
So we can cross that off your list.
So what does that leave then? . . .
Oh yeah! Demon Summoning . . Yes you are right... Let's see that!
It seems you aren't disagreeing after all.

Quote:Yeah, fighting Dracula comes to mind..How can you make a STALKER heroic!?!
I mean what could be MORE HEROIC than LITERALLY STABBING YOUR FOE IN THE BACK!?
Or eliminating key people to stop atrocities or Evil from taking over.
Hmm .... Inglourious Basterds , perhaps???
and have we been given the go-ahead to say we are actually 'killing' our enemies? . . . even redside?
. -
Yup.
I have had a couple work correctly.
At least for now, it looks fixed!

There have been a few cases in the history of this game, when the newest drivers for a card was a 'bad thing' for running this game. And the appropriate answer was sometimes "roll back to the previous drivers."
MOST of the time though, the most recent drivers were the best idea.

Quote:OO, that might explain a lot. Also, just to make sure, did you enter a small sewer map, or a very big one?
Because there are sewer mission maps, but also an actual sewer zone, with entrances in most of the other zones, which are marked on your map - so I was thinking you might have gone in there by mistake.
If you got the mission and went to the yellow or red star on the map that is the mission, You will probably be able to handle it with a little experimenting.
But if you saw the circle at the edge of the map that said "sewers" and went there,
That is way over the head of a single low level character.
That place requires a team.

Quote:(Looks at the OP post quote.)Yes, I remember them talking about that. The way it's worded thoe, sounds like "aholotmoar".
(Looks at the original release post)
Nope.
I only see "and more."
Is it some special pixel in one of the letters that changes the entire meaning of the phrase for PP?
Looked carefully. But I still only see "and more."
"and more." usually is understood to mean:
"We listed all the main things already, but there are another 2 or 3 things not really worth mentioning."
Nope. Don't see it. . . . Should I be squinting or something?

Quote:I fought him again a couple weeks ago on a lvl 42 alt.I've never actually fought Doc Vahz. At all. Ever, in the three years I've been playing. Why? Because I'm trying to get out of pre-22 like a bat outta hell. Which I think is a shame.
She is 50 now, with the TF Commander accolade under her belt
Especially now, when you can exemp and still get XP, you can still do any of the things you passed by, and still enjoy them AND continue levelling at the same time.
. -
Came back to make a correction.
Tried again, on yet another alt ...
and they were as rare as I remembered from before.
Don't know why they were easier the other day.
But the hunt path mentioned above by BBhume is definitely true.
And also....
If you find a group with a Master Illusionist... Kill her last.
All the things she summons count as one carnie each, except for the Decoy Phantasm.
Even the Phantasm and the Dark servant.

Quote:THIS.Might I point out, that other sets, too have holes that cause issues. Psi is a popular hole in defensive armors, as is Fear, another one being Endurance Drain. Dark Armor has a level of protection against each of those, and simply lacks KB. On Fire? Well, I am a bit confused on the thingking behind it. Yes it has a high damage component compared to most other Armors... but it seems to be a touch more "holey" than others.
- Or,They decided it was no problem, since it is so easy for the player to plug the hole himself.
- OR, They have not plugged that KB hole yet, because they have not yet decided what other vulnerability to insert, if they remove that one.

Quote:Thanks, ZM. I think the one I was thinking of, linked to that one right away.
So that one has the meat of the info I was thinking of.
We know more about GR now than we have known about any other issue or expansion ahead of time. That is a link to put in all the "I deserve more GR info every day" whining threads.
I really think they should not have given us all that info at the con.
They should have trickled it out a little bit every week, to keep those people happy, or at least shut them up about how long it has been that they have suffered without new info.
. -
However, there is some more recent thread, (Not from a redname), which has a lot more information gathered.
I think it is named something like "What we know so far"
But I have lost it...
Does anyone know where that thread is?
. -
And this AT includes two of the powers I consider the most visually awesome.
Carrion Creepers everywhere,
and the Lightning storm.
I love watching them both.
. -
Interesting....
I used to hate these carnie hunts.
But I have done them both twice in the last two days, and completed them in 10-20 min in all cases.
(Two with a full team, two solo)
I decided that the devs had redone the spawns as it was so easy.
I was finding many in the regular place, toward the north before you reach PortalCo.
But I found quite a few in the middle where malta usually were, and middle, east side of the island.
I was even spotting carnie swarms toward the south, near Vanguard, mixed in with all the Nemesis.
I was surprised, and pleased.
Edited to add:
I just went and looked again. and there DO seem to be less than when we were running them before, but there were still more than there used to be.
. -
-
Interesting list.
And those things each would tend to be more positive, than negative.
However . . .
If each of those things really do represent 16.6% to 20% of the requirements for your happiness,
I expect that your happiness meter may not reach 25% this year.
(Number 4 might be a likely . . . Any of us can look at anything as long as we like.)

Quote:I did not see anyone mention it, butI'd codify the challenge thusly:
The Ebil Marketer Newbie Challenge
- Start with a brand new character
- Complete the tutorial (dropping a mission to save time is legit)
- Fight nothing else outside the tutorial...
Have anything you'd like to add or subtract?
With number 3, the challenge is over. The attempt fails.
- If you fight nothing, you have ZERO inf.
- You must have at least a few inf to pay the auction fee when you put an item up for sale.
- When you exit the tutorial, you have zero inf, until you defeat at least one or two mobs outside the tutorial.
- If you have zero inf, you can NOT put the two inspirations on the market.
- Challenge fails. You cannot begin to make any money until you sell those inspirations. and you can not put those insps up for sale, until you have defeated one or two to get the market fee.

Quote:One guide I like and it is good to refer back to for new players or old. What's the one thing that you wish someone would have told you when you first started out? I have played other MMORPG's before so I have a little experience. What specifically about this game should I know?
Thanks in advance for your help.
It is a list of things you might want to do at each level of your character's life.
Things to Do Guide at different levels.
It is good to look at if you are just bored and want reminders of things you might want to do at your level.
It is good to look at to plan if you want to achieve some of those things before you outlevel the ability to do some of the things.

Yeah, I would at least wait till the mish ends, or I see repeated afk without explanation.
I recommend reserving quick kicking for those days when you are an omniscient (all-knowing) being.
If you absolutely know what is happening for that person at that moment in RL?
and you know absolutely what is going on with their internet connection?
Sure. If you are omniscient . . . 30 second kick is OK.

Quote:Well, no. Probably no update that would be useful. Can we get an update or something on the forums? I mean don't we deserve to know what is going on?
- It is obvious they are working on the problem. *(See below)
- They will have the servers up as fast as they can.
- Until they find the problem, solve it, and test it, . . . There is no way they can predict how long it will take.
- (i.e., they can't say how long till just before putting it back on live.)
But just for you.... Here IS an update:
*One down . . . two to go.
Justice is back up.
Only Virtue and Guardian are still down. (crossing fingers)

Quote:That is like when I am watching a TV show with friends, and The main character gets in a tight spot.PPL from freedom server are saying that the reason the server is down is they are getting rid of it anyone know if this is true?
I say "Oh yeah! I heard he was going to die on this episode!
This is the last show of the series."
Most people just ignore that, but it is always fun when someone believes I am serious.
Also years ago a friend and I were visiting Central High School in our city,
and I had her convinced the statue in the lobby was a statue of John B. Central.
Priceless!

Quote:. . . I don't understand the logic behind this?. . . a Dev post something and explain what might be happing? . . .Quote:... should make it a point to inform their gaming community when there's a major server issue . . . bring us up to par on when they'll be back up.Quote:. . . they could at least tell us SOMETHING instead of nothing . . .
When a few servers crash,
Here is what we already know:
- Something went wrong and some servers are down
- The devs didn't just flip an off switch on a whim.
- To find out what happened, they will need to test.
- To get them running they may have to fix some things.
- Then they will have to test again.
- Until they have tested, and fixed, and tested again ... They do not know how long it will take.
- If testing again fails, they may have to go back to step 1,
- They will get the servers up as soon as they possibly can.
- Until they are finally sure they are ready to turn them back on, they will NOT have any useful, meaningful info they could give us.
Here is all that the devs would be able to tell us:
- Something went wrong and some servers are down.
- We didn't just flip an off switch on a whim.
- To find out what happened, we will need to test.
- To get them running we may have to fix some things.
- Then we will have to test again.
- Until we have tested, and fixed, and tested again ... We do not know how long it will take.
- If testing again fails, we may have to go back to step 1,
- We will get the servers up as soon as we possibly can.
- Until we are finally sure we are ready to turn them back on, we will NOT have any useful, meaningful info we could report.
Is there any real point in asking them to tell us what we already know?
Yes, If they find out that the fixing will take a really long time, and are sure of that, they will tell us.
Yes, I am frustrated too.
But when all they can tell us is what we already know, that would be pointless.
