• I am pretty sure this is totally counter to the desire of the devs. I actually believe they WANT people to experience the switching process, and other new content they are slaving over.
• You might also while you are at it ask for the ability to just create new alts that are 50 from the beginning. You DO want a 50 Brute hero right? and you don.t care about the content?

Well, It got demoted about the time the rednames started punishing us if we just replied yes or no to ideas, or /signed or /unsigned, or /jranger.

The idea is that if you only saying those, you were not contributing to thoughtful discussion.

I mostly agree with that concept . . .
except for the ideas that are sooooo bad that I like the idea of a few dozen NOs, or unsigned following the OP.

Or the regular dead horse threads.

But, we live with that now,
and that seemed to be the catalyst of demoting the forum to a less serious level.

I have had a theory for a while...
It might be random, but I have thought that it might be what level you go to PO.

I usually go to PO at level 5 or 6, get the contact and run the few mishes to get the Mayhem, and go back to finish Mongooses arc.
(I like to lvl once or twice to let the mayhem age ... the first Mayhem seems rougher than the later ones.)

So I am thinking partially random weighted by how early you go to PO.
It's a guess.


(It also seems to me that the earlier I go to KR, the more likely I am to get the detec outside the building rather than having to run inside the station.)

often, they add people in waves.

But then, in past betas, I have known people who got their invites several days after they had been in, testing away.

And there was at least one beta where people did not have access to the forums until they had PM'd the proper redname to fix that for them.

If those forums were up,
and someone released that information,
They could be kicked from beta
for disclosing such info.

So no matter how wonderful a person you might be,
Nobody is likely to answer your question for us.

Not surprised at this date at all.

Even more reason I would like members of my active VG on test to be able to get a character or two copied now, before the doors close, so we can make sure they are promoted up so they will be able to run the VG, if they are the only ones who make it in to the beta.

and I still think they should flag that the Copy Tool is turned off when it is,
so that people don't waste their time and effort, and get frustrated.

I do kind of understand P_P's attitude and also reluctantly agree with your interpretation, but often think that the more begs and whines there are on the forums, the more negatively forum readers will feel about the game, even if the intention is "I want more for me and others to love".

On the topic of "More Content":
I often cringe when that cry comes up.
The thing is, MOST people will only accept . . . MORE ZONES, to satisfy themselves that there is more content.
More places for people to be.
(I don't claim to know if P_P and hubby mean 'more zones' when they say 'more content'. )
We do know we will get some of that in GR..


The problem with More Zones is . . . The more places you add for people to be....
...The fewer the people that are in any of those places at any given time.
If, over time, we add 6 or 7 more zones to redside,
We cut in half the average number of people in each zone.

You think we have a lot of people whining about "There is nobody on!!!" and "CoX is becoming a ghost town!!!" now?

Hide and watch after several more zones get added!
More zones is not the thing to make more people love the game.
Zone redesign maybe. More zones just thins us further.

I am more and more starting to think it is just turned off.


I am usually the one arguing against conspiracy theories.
But I am starting to buy this one.
And I am just starting to wish that if the Copy was not going to work, they should say so on the copy page, so I can quit repeatedly trying to copy alts off into the big void.

Does this mean that if you upgrade your trial account with a real full code, that you:

can continue the trial time, without the trial limitations,
and THEN, it starts your 1st month paid time after that?

Also, to any of you on trial time,
When you activate a full code
BE SURE that you upgrade the current account that you are using on trial.
If you start a new account, it will not be able to see the characters you are currently running. It would be a seperate account with its own list of characters if you start a new one.

I did have that problem a few weeks ago, and deleted wildly till I had spots.

Are you suggesting that the Copy IS working right now?
Have you copied a character over in the last 24 hours?
I know I have just deleted about 3 alts that I had copied in the last couple of weeks, and It will not let me copy another, even though I opened those spots.

I would love to know if it is working right now for some people, to figure out what the difference is.

Thanks. I knew the dates, and it has been a great, ongoing thread. The most recent posts in it are about 5 months ago.
I challenge you, or anyone to read through a couple pages of that thread, no matter how long a veteran, and not learn some things they wish they had known earlier. ... Depends on how you play. Very often, If I don't do it the first time, I don't bother going back later on that alt.
As you mentioned, I like to get those temp travel powers from the mayhem missions as early as possible, while they are still useful before I get a real travel power.
And I like to get things like the temp Nemesis staff, or other things that list reminds a person of, earlier in life than waiting and going back for them at 50. To me, that sort of thing is meaningless to me after I have already hit 50, or late in alt life. (He does keep his things to do list up to date.)

It sounds to me like you may be like me, and have a slight aversion to Tankers. or at least I had trouble finding one that would hold my interest from 1 to 50.

My advice would be
Find the good binds for using TP.
Learn to LOVE TP.

If you can do that, I also recommend Stone. Preferably stone/stone.

I had tried a lot of different tankers, and enjoyed them a lot.
But I always got them up to somewhere between 30 and 40, and just got tired of them. altoholism carried me away to somewhere else.

Trying a Stoner changed all that for me.
I DO love TP. and it helps overcome the penalties of Stone.
I went from 1 to 50 smoothly, and my interest was held the whole time.

They are challenging to do right, but can do some of the best and showiest tanking in the game.
