True enough, but the 35 year old on the farm is a Farm Hand and lots of Farm Hands live at their place of employment. There is also the possibility that the 35 year old living with his parents could be his parents' caretaker and that is a completely different scenario than the 35 year old virgin living in his parent's basement playing video games all day.

Quote:Exactly. You need to teach your kids to survive on their own and lend a hand when life gets too hard. Overprotecting your kids doesn't help them to live when they are on their own. It just teaches them to live with their parents when they are 35 years old.You also see these same parents dosing their kids with every antibiotic and germ-killing thing known to mankind. Rather than helping their kids, they are doing them a vast disservice since childhood is the time that people develop their immune systems (to a great extent). If you kill off all the germs, their systems won't know how to fight 'em in the future, as well as helping to develop germs that are immune to the cleansing agents.
I blame the media and their constant need to show stuff like "18 items in your house that are killing you!" and the reliance on shock journalism. -
Nope, I never wish for that. IOs make characters unique. In each powerset, there are always some powers that are always better than others so it requires characters that take the same powersets to be almost similar. With IOs, each powerset can alter what their character is. For example Crab Soldiers, I can make my Crab Soldier into a Ranged Fighter with lots of AoE and defense, Melee Fighter with pets, a pseudo-Mastermind that is more durable, or some other variation.

I always imagined Sheldon as Data or Spock. Howard or Leonard might make a better Barclay.

Quote:Until virtual worlds can replicate the taste and smell of delicious food or be able to smell roses, then they are still inferior to the real world. No matter the person's situation.Have you ever thought that some people are just happier on-line? That maybe real life has screwed them over so many time's that they would just welcome something like that? I know that I would.
Also, I believe that most people that play MMOs would welcome such a virtual environment. -
Virtual properties are only worth something if you can actually live in them. In fact, I see virtual properties being the home of the future. A basic place to live with room for a kitchen, dining room, and bedroom with no luxuries to sustain a person's physical needs and a virtual mansion that is dependent on the imagination of the person. All senses except pain is possible in the virtual world. Pain is possible, but only certain people use it to get a completely realistic experience. I can see this happening in our lifetimes. Also it is the only way for people to exist if we continue our self-destructive path. Can't go to the park in real life so it is necessary to go to a park in virtual life to smell the roses and have a picnic with your loved one.

I would say her combat level is the same as a henchman or two. Her influence level would be one of the top 100 on earth in the DC Universe due to her influence on Superman and her status as a world renowned reporter. If Lois wanted to get rid of someone, then she could just ask Superman. She can get whatever she wants by just asking Superman.

Anyone who plays DCUO knows who Booster Gold is since his role is explaining the various locations of Gotham and Metropolis and trying to get endorsements in the process.

You're giving us too much credit. It is not when we learn how to communicate with them, but when they learn how or feel like communicating with us.

I wouldn't be surprised if US scientists "discover" intelligent life on Mars bent on our destruction. Starting Wars seems to be a President tradition for improving ratings. Of course, the Martians are just CG created images to instill fear in Americans so the government will have more control over our lives.

or C) They learned from their errors and it will go on for a few seasons before being cancelled with Terra Nova being a great SF series.
Chances are that it will be A or B. -
The governor of Delaware just appointed the First Ambassador to Mars. Isn't one of the jobs of an Ambassador is live in a foreign country and represent the interests of their nation? I could understand it if there was alien life on Mars in contact with Earth or a human colony on Mars, but this makes as much sense as an Ambassador to Atlantis.

Obviously Superman and other superheroes generate a force field to protect the people they are helping or their criminal victims from severe harm. It is part of the superhero starter kit. Otherwise superheroes would have a ton of lawsuits against them.

Quote:It makes perfect sense. HAL escaped Discover One and impersonated Skynet. When HAL was done destroying Earth, he had a dimensional portal built to mess with Black Mesa.Japanese professor invents mecha HalfLife HEV...

Worryingly for the operators, the suit is named HAL and is made by the prof's firm "CyberDyne Systems". Hmmm... -
Quote:I am thinking that there is the commercial Grimm Fairy Tales that we all know and the classified Grimm Fairy Tales that contain all the Big Bad Monsters that actually exist in that world. Doing that would not limit the writers of Grimm to the monsters in the books.Enjoyed the second episode of Grimm as well. Although it's increasing my feelings of a boring main character with a lot of interesting secondary characters. Love the bobad or however it's spelled. How many people can rip an arm off and make it seem funny? Makes me want to look up the Grimm tales and see which ones they are actually responsible for.

Seem to be missing the most important issue. How does it taste?

Some of the greatest discoveries are due to accidents that the discoverer didn't understand how it worked. If someone creates more energy than they put in, then we should be learning how to use it and figure out how it works rather than figure out how it works, then use it.

Interesting. Dr. Rush is in Once Upon a Time. Might be my favorite character depending on where they go with his character.

Hulu only works if you live in the US and not all members of the board are US citizens. For those of us that can't benefit from certain website, then our hands are tied with hoping local stations allow us to view the show from their websites or Bittorrent.

Words can't express what I saw there so I won't bother trying.

Quote:And who is the idiot that thought that producing a tear in the space-time continuum is a good idea? Although, if humanity has to be destroyed, then a physics experiment is how I want us to go.I didn't check every link so sorry if it was posted before but we (humans) need to build this.

You know a Dub is bad when it has to be redone. Pure One Piece Sub fan here. Have watched some of the Funi Dubs and consider them better than the original Dubs, but not as good as the Subs.

Why do I have the sudden urge to put Batman in a box with poison gas and a radioactive trigger?
Anyway, you just figured out Batman's most effective torture technique. -
I said that it was a superhero/supervillain origin story not that it was a superhero/supervillain movie. Basically, it is a horror movie if Carrie is afraid of her power and never uses it again, a superhero origin story with horror elements if Carrie uses her power for good, and a supervillain origin story with horror elements if she uses her power for evil.
-
I just watched the Carrie remake and couldn't shake the feeling that it was a Superhero or Supervillain Origin story rather than a horror movie. Thoughts?
