  1. Since it has been stated before that Aang almost lost to the Fire Lord when he took away their bending, Korra just needs to succeed in her willpower saving throw.

Reading the avatar wiki on energybending, there is two possibilities and both involve Aang energybending incorrectly. Aang could have accidentally imparted the knowledge of energybending to Yakone so either Yakone is an energybender and bloodbender or just an energybender. Since energybending is the primal bending and has been lost to the ages, then Yakone could have gained energybending. The other possibility is that the energybending done on Yakone caused Aang to be corrupted and somehow lost his Avatarness. Of course, Amon could be someone not connected to anyone we know and learnt energybending from some other source.
  2. Another possibility is that Amon is a bloodbender. If there is one ability that can affect a person's ability to bend, it is bloodbending. It would also explain why Amon could overcome Tarlokk's attack. Tarlokk's father was subjected to Aang and his ability to remove bending so he could have learnt it from Aang directly. Also it would make sense to overthrow the country and start a revolution since that was what Tarlokk and his father planned to do.

Its obvious. Amon is an android or cyborg.

Said someone like. New series, therefore new characters unless they stay true to the comics.
  5. Most impressive part of that video was the various images of the Sun using different wavelengths of light and that can be seen anytime with the proper instruments. Only thing cool about it is how rare it is.

Be interesting to see if they stay away from the superheroes and supervillians. Heroes and villains like Batman, Joker, and Lex Luthor are fine, but someone like Superman, the X-men, or Fantastic Four is not.

  8. Might be interesting. Captain America as a comedy.
  9. I don't think that pic is safe for the forums.

Amon can take away bending permanently (though it remains to be seen just how permanent that is). Something previously established as a skill only the Avatar can do (and even Aang was unaware of it until the original finale).

Meanwhile, Tarrlok can bloodbend, something only the most powerful of waterbenders can do, and only during the full moon. Tarrlok did it outside that constraint.
It is the future so it is likely that he is taking some type of drug that enhances bending ability. It could explain why there are so many lightning benders. Korra wouldn't know about it since she is a country girl.
  11. So coult Tarlokk be the reason why we haven't seen Toph, Sokka, and Aang yet? Bloodbending seems to be the most powerful ability in the Avatar universe. Unless someone comes out with vacuum bending (might be high level air bending technique) or particle physics bending (not likely). I assume that either Katara will make an appearance to deal with Tarlokk, Tarlokk has a change of mind, or Korra learns bloodbending to protect her from Tarlokk.

But as to the question...hmmm...don't know! If K didn't kill the evil alien or didnt apprehend it there, then *** would likely be dead now.
Well K was giving the whole recruitment speech to *** so if they joined MiB, then it would explain a plot point. Of course, I meant still alive as in after the Apollo launch since being a MiB agent has a great deal of risk so they might not be around in 2012.

I am thinking there are two realities. The original one where *** joined the MiB and the evil alien lost his arm and the new one where *** and the evil alien died. It could also explain why young K changed into old K. Separating a kid from their dad due to MiB recruitment policies could cause the shock that caused K to be so guarded.
  13. Have a theoretical question about the movie. The weird autistic alien says Death follows Death or something like that. So *** is injured by the evil alien. If K didn't kill evil alien, would *** be still alive?

  15. Smart idea. If the world ends this year, then they don't have to worry about finishing production.

    Sanctuary RIP

Could always do the sensible thing and make everything CG. In a few years, we won't even be able to tell that there are no actors in a TV show or movie. After all, why pay $50 million for an actor when you can just use computers to generate the actor's image and voice. No problem with them doing controversial scenes or physically impossible scenes since CG actors have no rights.
  17. Spiderman is Goofy
Thor is Horace Horsecollar. No idea who he is.
Not sure why Invisible Woman is in the Avengers.
Iron Man is GizmoDuck which fits so well with the character just like Daffy Duck fits so well as the Hulk.
  18. Here we go.

And Here is link for credit to author.
  19. When I think of Disney characters, I think of Mickey Mouse, Jasmine, Snow White, Beast, and other such characters not Pixar characters. Still a good picture.
  20. Now if only his rep is good enough to release Firefly: The Next Generation. Been too long and not animated to do what Family Guy and Futurama did.
  21. If anyone is into Pathfinder, then a Kickstarter project is being formed to create a Steampunk Campaign which is partially inspired by Girl Genius. The ad for it is currently on the Girl Genius website.

    Quote:
Dirigibles hover silently over dark streets. The hiss of gas lamps mingles with the soft, far-off chanting of wizards. A grizzled mercenary guards the railstation, a rune-inscribed pistol at his side.

This is the world of Terah, a Steampunk Campaign setting for the Pathinder Roleplaying Game. The Terah World Guide is slated to come out this July at PaizoCon 2012 and will be the flagship product of Rossi Publishing Games. Although the project is already partially funded and the release date is certain, further donations will allow us to add more art/other content to the World Guide and will speed up the rate at which we can release further supplements once the World Guide has been published.

Currently, the world guide contains these exciting features:

    - The World of Terah: A carefully constructed campaign setting rife with history, culture, and exciting set pieces. Attend the underground universities of Khauzi or explore the inner workings of Clocktower Fortress.
    - The Spark: A mad scientist who crafts magnificent wonders with a mix of magic, technology, and pure insanity. Based off of the Girl Genius Webcomic by Phil and Kaja Foglio
    - The Charlatan: A con-man who works fantastic illusions and tricks his way out of trouble with a silver tongue.
    - The Vykati : A race of tribal wolf-men that lurk near the edges of civilization, fighting to preserve their culture amidst the tumult of industry.
    - Telepathy and Telekinesis Feat Lines: Psychic powers for the strong of mind or the curious of spirit.
    - The Runeworker Feat Line: Prepare the battlefield by inscribing runes on walls, weapons or armor.
    - Automatons: Create mechanical servants or unstoppable vehicles, minute sidekicks or monstrous behemoths.
    - And Much More: Gain access to new feats, knowledge skills, magic (and not so magic) items, monsters and spells.
  22. The Neighbours appears to be interesting. Not many shows with peace loving aliens trying to get along with humans and no hostile aliens trying to kill humans and the peace loving aliens.
  23. Tenzin's kids seem to be talented with Air Bending so to make Korra not learn Air Bending, Tenzin and his family would have to be permanently prisoned (not likely) or killed. Of course, there is Air Bending manuals so Korra is not completely screwed. It would be interesting to see if Korra can learn lightning bending and metal bending since the Avatar is supposed to be able to learn all bending.

That brings up something interesting. Air, Earth, Fire, and Water are the basic types of bending. Earth, Fire, and Water have an advanced form of bending that seems to be only possible by highly gifted benders. Earth has Metal. Fire has lightning. Water has blood. I think Swamp Bending is a combination of Earth and Water. Now what would the advanced form of Air Bending be? Vacuum Bending?
  24. Well it all depends on what doomsday means. The Earth can take a pounding and the Earth will survive almost anything except the most extreme cases. According to theory, the Earth was hit by a massive object and the Moon was created as a result. So even if 99.9999999% of life is destroyed, then Earth will eventually try the life experiment again.

Considering that the last massive meteorite hit Earth millions of years ago, there is a very low probability of a doomsday scenario based on asteroids with no external forces applied to them. Having 50 asteroids directed towards Earth by aliens is another story.

So all realistic doomsday scenarios are by some sentient race. We are the most likely culprit either due to someone's stupidity or ignorance. There is a certain minimum level of population that is required to function as a modern society. Lowering the population to 100 million would probably have no major effect on our ability to survive as a modern culture. However, the scorched earth scenario is more difficult to deal with and if the Earth is dying, then either we change or we die. The Fallout game is probably the closest we can come to understanding that scenario. Very few doomsday scenarios have the devastating effect of nuclear warfare. The only ways to survive such a scenario is adapt through genetic manipulation (Ghouls), treat the Earth as Mars (Vault Dwellers), or download our consciousness into a computer (Matrix).

Of course, in a century or two, interstellar colonization would make any doomsday scenario irrelevant and the only possible ones are a nearby supernova (if we are only at initial stages of interstellar colonization), galactic collision (should be able to compensate for such a scenario with plenty of time to spare), aliens bent on eradicating us (unlikely for them to get us all), and destruction of universe (humanity will most likely have tons of time to figure something out and won't happen for an inconceivable amount of time).
