  1. Would having everyone consume lucks like candy cause Director 11's bombers to miss their target or are they unresistable?
  2. With a title like Dylan Dog, I was not expecting that. Thought it might be one of those anthropomorphic animated movies that have been too common in recent years. I definitely have to see this.

What does AoE buffs have to do with Destiny or procs have to do with Interface? The only current slots that fit their name are Alpha and Judgement. Alpha because it is the first slot and Judgement because it fits various instances of God judging unworthy people by smiting them. The other slots are just as likely to not fit their name.

Wisps are more powerful than PPD psi dudes, but it doesn't matter, because it's not a Wisp, or PPD psi dude, it's a Seer wearing their skin, that has "Wisp" over its head.

Warriors would probably be out, since none of the pets presented could be reskinned and passed off as Warriors. But you could have, say, a Coralax with Seer powers without making any changes to the NPC Coralax group. Why does it have all those powers a regular Coralax does not? Because it's my freaking pet, that's why. I'm an Incarnate and I beat up an awesome uber Coralax that you mere mortals wouldn't stand a chance against, mwahaha. Or I imbued a Coralax with some of my power. Leave it up to the players to explain.
I would rather have us not do this method, but create our own pets with Praetorian powers. A Coralax with Seer powers is not something I can get my head around since Coralax have their own style of attacks. A Mind Flayer with Seer powers is something I have no problem with since there is no preconception of what a Mind Flayer does.

Having us all have the same pets allows us to look at our teammates and know exactly what we can expect from their pets. I know that this teammate has a couple of pets which deal lots of control and this teammate has a couple of pets which just deal damage. Allowing customization would not allow us to know what their pets could do at a cursory glance. Which is probably one of the main reasons why the lore slot is set this way.

How is this irrelevant? Either the devs would have to add more npcs to the lore set with no major changes except tweaking the numbers a bit, add some new npcs to the various groups, or allow us to create our own pet with our own choice of powers.

Say I choose the Warrior pet for my Lore slot. Either I am severely limited in what they can do or the devs would have to add a few more npcs to the Warrior group so I have the same options as another person that took a better selection for their Lore slot. The problem is bringing up the Warriors pets to other enemy groups so they are balanced or ignore them which might anger a few people that have good reason to pick Warriors.

Creating pets similar to the AE system brings up other problems as numerous people that have tested the AE system know. It is just too easy to create characters that are too powerful in the AE system. My Illusion/Granite Armor pet with Robots/Rad pet would makes things very difficult to balance.

The only other option is to have full customization with lots of different power animations to accommodate whatever choice we want, but limit it to the powers of the current Praetorian pets. I could change the Seers to be robe-wearing Mages that use spells to knock people out. They are still Seers as far as the game is concerned, but to me they would be Mages.

All of these options would take more time and resources to achieve and some might not even be possible. Therefore, changing the Lore slot to accommodate a vocal minority would delay other features from being added. Keeping the Lore set simple is a way for us to get it now and not in I30.
  6. If I can't have pet Titans, then the next best thing is Praetorians. My next choice will be CoS with a Master Illusionist and Illusionist. However, that is also too powerful. Shivans would be another possibility for me, but we already have the Shivan Shard. No other Primal mob gives me any interest.

There is also the other choice of picking something like Warriors. Therefore, the Primal choices can be either too powerful or too weak. The Praetorian mobs seems to be balanced compared to most Primal mobs.

As far as customization goes, I am willing for them to allow changes to lore pets, but after I20 hits and as longs as I am able to customize my henchmen. I am sick and tired of having only males as henchmen. It is just too creepy to think of Oni and Dark Servant as female. Allowing us to customize our Lore pets' powers can either make them overpowered or underpowered depending on our choices.

I know that my first very rare will be the Lore slot with my Seers since my Mastermind likes control powers.
  7. If you are using Windows XP, then you need Service Pack 3 installed.
  8. How do we know that we need to gather only threads to craft future slots. Apex and Tin Mage can have their own salvage for completing. BAF and Lambda could have their own salvage for completing. Then the devs could add new salvage to each of the old level 50 TFs. Although most likely, only the trials will have either one or more salvage that you can choose from since any of the new common incarnate salvage costs more shards than just 4 to craft. If you want to get the Judgment slot unlocked ASAP, then run a few trials to craft the common and quite a bit more to unlock the very rare Judgment.
  9. New Reboot movie with a Blade Runner style to it? Sounds interesting and I would definitely watch.
  10. Infinite Comedy will join up. Have rare alpha slotted.

It is nice to be the only super-powered entity around, but if you gain powers, then someone else can use powers and they will most likely use them for personal gain. The whole idea of a person gaining powers (political or super) makes their deepest desires in the forefront. Some peoples deepest desire is heroism while others are villainy. There is also various deepest desires that have nothing to do with super battles. For example if I had super powers, then I would save the people I can, but I would be busy learning about the universe. What is the closest planet with extraterrestrial life? What does it feel like to be standing on a neutron star? In other words, if I had super powers, then I would be a Superscientist.

I know people say that only police should get involved, but from what I saw that was taught in the military (I was SF in the USAF), most of what we are learn isn't all that effective, with firearms being exceptions. I questioned this, and was then told why everyone isn't taught special forces techniques, which are very effective. Not everyone is as adept at restraining themselves.

Still don't really understand what he meant, but it'd be a rather scary place for criminals if every cop was as well trained as a 10 year Delta operative, Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, et al (I am aware that some officers have these backgrounds)
I imagine it deals with unnecessary pain and injury. Teach a special forces technique to someone that can't control their body well and they could kill a person instead of just restraining them. Or worse yet, they get in a fight with their friends, family, strangers at a bar and they get sent to prison for manslaughter. It will be a while before it is possible to train proper restraint. A chip in the brain could solve this.

It is on the Endangered List so it is just as likely to be cancelled as it will be renewed. It is all based on TV executives that usually have no idea what makes for good television. IMO good television is stuff that is memorable even after twenty years after the series finale not having millions of people watching the same garbage.
  13. Doesn't work anymore, but EM/Regen before they changed MoG. Reduces your health to 25% and kept on spamming Energy Transfer would get you to commit suicide.
  14. So I assume if more than one team ties for the least deaths, then the one with the fastest time will win?
  15. Only advice I could have is get some use out of your powers with different types of set bonuses. For example, you have Lockdown and Basilik's Gaze in Gravity Well, but 2 Basilik's Gaze will get a bit more defense. My approach was getting perma-eclipse so I could make Nova a tankmage, but your method works too.
  16. Why should I be proud for not having a farming character? Farming is a very noble and ancient profession. They deserve our respect for feeding our families.
  17. I would say it is a matter of rearranging your slots. My Warshade is a perma-eclipsed Nova with a focus on Dwarf and Nova so I can't help much for Human form except Stygian Circle and Eclipse. Unless you are putting a set in Dwarf, then I think 3 Damage Resistance are enough and more slots in Stygian Circle.
  18. I can understand his reasoning since I wouldn't want to release something unless I was satisfied with it. At least it is better than having twenty rewrites during filming.

Better than the original TV series, but debatable if it is better than the original miniseries.

  21. You are not a superhero if you wear a goofy costume, fight crime, and have no powers or training above the average person. Fool, yes. Hero, maybe. But not a superhero. That doesn't mean there couldn't be real life superheroes that spent years training in Martial Arts or create highly advanced nonlethal weaponry, but these people are not superheroes. Besides there is no real point to attacking drug dealers. Their clients will find another way to get a fix and the drug cartels will just find another to take their place. Teaching and destroying their drug labs are far more effective ways. If no one buys drugs because they know better, then the drug cartels will go out of business or lose a lot of money.

My analogy was based on the assumption that we would have to physically manipulate objects from orbit not create machines that can manipulate the objects for us. Physically manipulating atoms is currently possible with Scanning Tunneling Microscopes. Creating microscopic machines to manipulate atoms is not currently possible.

Although I agree that other new science topics should get their say as well.

As to Robocop's Prime Directives vs Asimovs Three Laws of Robotics: Robocop is human brain hardwired to a CPU and its shown that his human side can overcome the machine except for Directive 4 which appears to be hardwired into him.

Asimov's laws of robotics appear to less open to interpretation, not saying they are foolproof, but I think I'd trust them better then Robocop's Prime Directives.
There was one of Asimov's books where a robot was created without the Three Laws. It amounted to them starting from scratch since they were hardcoded. Another robot developed the Zeroth Law where it can't let humanity fall to harm. Then there was a bunch of robots that were programmed to kill humans by changing the definition of human. There are ways around any law.
