I guess he could play a superhero if acrobatic superheroes are popular in the future. Chances are that he would be a world-class dancer. He is much better than some of those participants in dance reality shows.

Its not Total Recall if there is no woman with 3 breasts.

The can't logout feature was something that was introduced when the game went live without a mention in the patch notes. So basically, it is the first day of launch of an awesome game that tons of gamers want to play. No way that anyone could know that they would be trapped in the game.

Quote:The game system connects to the mind so without the proper passwords, then there is no way to stop the game on your end. Any way to delete the game would require external effort and probably has safeguards to prevent or hinder tampering. The essence of the problem is that there are 10,000 players that are trapped in a game with no way to get out as far as the players know.If I'm going to the effort of deleting the game from my system I don't think I'm concerned about my character "dying" as far as the games concerned. I'll have beaten the game because it won't be getting anymore of my "money".
The only way the game wins is by keeping me interested enough to give it money.
An amusing moment in the anime was when the dev made every avatar look like the player. So the classic male playing as a female to get good loot for free from other players turns into a male. Resulting in an awkward situation. -
There is this anime/manga called Sword Arts Online where a beta tester plays this virtual reality MMORPG about 10 years in the future. He teams up with someone to show them the ropes and they try to logout, but can't. The main dev appears stating that the only way to exit the game is to beat the game. Dying in the game or removing the VR gear results in your brain being destroyed.
Since there is no interaction with the outside world, then there is no way to know if your teammate that was killed is alive and free or dead in the real world. PKing takes on a new meaning. Instead of just getting XP, some fine loot, and causing people some minor grief, you are a potential murderer. There is also the issue that time might be going at a completely different rate. Two years in the game might be only 10 minutes in real life.
So how do you think you would react in this situation?
Personally, I would probably stay in the beginning town for a few weeks or months, then go crazy and decide to go on a journey to elsewhere. If I die in the game, then I will know the truth about the game. Either I am dead and the game is no longer a concern or I am alive and I can put most of the game behind me. Either way I would be free. -
My hope hasn't been high for any of the Syfy shows since it added Wrestling and has no Star Trek content. At least Space has two or three Star Trek shows airing each weekday. It even has TOS airing at the moment.

But how long did it last? 1 Joule of Energy delivered in 2 femtoseconds is the same as 500 Terawatts. It is a lot less impressive in that short of a time frame.

Quote:Saw this at school in a Nanotechnology course. Think my class saw the whole series of Making Stuff. Just hope that milk doesn't reach the stores since it could give serious medical problems. There is a Nova which shows the goats the goats. Thet are at the end however if you are intrested.

If Grant appeared on a previous episode, then it could be a spoiler depending on the character. However, a few second cameo is not a spoiler.
This is how TV series should end. I hate it when the story just ends on a cliffhanger or important plot points are resolved. It is like reading a book and the author forgot to write the last few chapters. Eureka ended with most plot points resolved, but leaves room for a sequel. -
Interesting. That was Grant Imahara from Mythbusters that I saw. I am assume that was one of his creations that was in the same scene as him.

Apparently a new series is coming to Space (Canadian version of Syfy) called The Almighty Johnsons to replace Eureka. Basically it is about a modern family of Norse gods and the son finds out he is a god. Could be an adequate successor to Eureka's timeslot or a massive failure.

Has been done before. The Vosh in Star Trek come to mind, but they were evolved dinosaurs. Doctor Who has the Silurians which are evolved dinosaurs as well. I assuming we will see another episode with Silurians if this is correct. Having actual dinosaurs in space sounds like something that might have been done with Star Trek since there was an episodes where they transported an alien village to another planet. Doing a Noah's Ark for a doomed primitive planet would make sense if Star Trek had a future series in the 25th Century or beyond.

Superman 2012. No matter what his moral alignment, he would be better than 99.99999% of the politicians out there.

Assuming that the type of bending is used affects personality, then it is surprising that Air Benders were in a temple. Air Nomads makes more sense for Air Benders. There is some proof and exceptions to it. Zuko is hotheaded while Aang's Earthbending friend from before he got frozen is completely nuts and doesn't fit with Earth Benders being sturdy like a rock.

The funny thing is that it sounds like there is an actual limited time item (before July 5) being introduced that makes you view the world as Pyro would. So you can experience the world as Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows.

Quote:Not according to this article.Actually if I remember correctly the Prize WAS Omnipotence, that the final one would become a God...atleast that was what it was in the original movie but been a while since I've seen it
Quote:After roughly a month of negotiations, Ryan Reynolds has officially been cast in the lead role for HIGHLANDER. Reynolds will play Connor MacLeod, a Highlander who discovers he is one of a dwindling group of immortals who wander the earth and kill each other in combat for the final Prize mortality. -
A bunch of immortals fighting to the death for the prize of mortality. That makes absolutely no sense. Now a bunch of mortals fighting to the death for the prize of immortality makes sense. Or immortals fighting to the death for the prize of omnipotence makes sense as well. If an immortal wants to die, then they have the fun of finding an interesting way to die like being ground zero of a nuclear test or flying a spaceship into the sun. Mortality is the most boring way to commit suicide.

The Weekend Superheroic threads have been mostly about Korra for the past few months with minor discussion of the other new cartoon episodes.

Quote:That is what I was implying in my previous post.So who wants to start writing the Asami/Iroh slash? Because I'm betting that's the way that's heading.

Apparently they didn't know if they would get a second season so everything had to be resolved in one season. Just like they don't know if they will get a third season so the second season will be resolved in the end.
