You would also need extremely good involuntary reflex control, otherwise, super strength could be seen more as a curse than a blessing. See Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex by Larry Niven. Heck, even breathing could be an issue, in that you could inhale so much that your lungs pop and/or burst right out of your chest.
Can have super strength without invulnerability. Exoskeletons are already capable of doing it. But there are not many heroes or villains with just invulnerability or super strength. Although I can't imagine any decent person with super powers going out into public without a dampening device or some control over their powers. Super strength has to be worse than Midas touch since you can at least sell who you touch to certain collectors. Victims of super strength are such a pain to clean up.

Two different powers, Invulnerability and Super Strength. Although they are part of the Superman package. Could use a impentrable force field and I would be invulnerable, but I couldn't dent a bank door in. Having a more powerful muscular structure or raised in a higher gravity world could give invulnerability and super strength, but still two separate powers.

And you can do it on multiple runs, not have to it all in one or 'You fail!' which is a crap feeling to have after having to go through and form a team for the thing.
Master of BAF does, but Master of Lambda doesn't. To get it, you need to defeat Marauder in exactly the same way 3 times. Which is why I want the Lambda badges to be defeat with no grenades, defeat with no acids, and defeat with only temp powers found in the courtyard.

As far as changes to the old Master of badges, the only one I would accept is changing the TFs so that they are in the same style as the new Master of badges. Like a badge for destroying Romulan Phalanx without destroying the robots in ITF or leave none of Aeon's Clones alive in STF when Aeon goes down.
  4. Problem with Reality Warping is that there needs to be a reset function or the person needs to have the wisdom to use it so they don't need to reset reality every few minutes. Of course, that is for permanent Reality Warping and not Proteus' Reality Warping where it goes away after he loses consciousness.
  5. Technopathy, hypertechnology, or whatever you want to call it would probably be my choice. Want Flight, then build a flying suit. Want Invisibility, then build a cloaking device. Want to create a better you, then inject nanites into your bloodstream. I wouldn't limit it to only technology that is possible given our current technology path. Technoorganic, organic, and other theoretically possible technologies would be under my control. Might take longer, but with this power, I can be omnipotent and omniscient.

Had fun with the Base Raids years ago, but if supergroup IoPs are granted, it would probably mean only one reward for the group. It is just as likely that only personal IoPs will exist. Not holding my breath for Base Raids since my base has only 2 rooms and only just a bunch of alts. Besides my PvP experience and desire is rather limited so even if Base Raids existed, I would not participate in them.
  7. It looks like IoPs have been made into a strictly personal thing with the Cathedral of Pain trial. So it is likely that when Base Raids return, Supergroup Items of Power might not be with them. As far as Base Raids go, they might show up next issue or they keep on being pushed back.

What I want Base Raids to be is have the same type of setup as before, but have powerless Items of Power as one of the possible objectives. That way people can stare at Items of Power when not raiding, don't have to worry about losing it, and supergroup powered Items of Power can be added to the base when supergroup Cathedral of Pain trials are available.

Not always. There is such a thing as a benevolent dictatorship where the dictator works for the good of the people and not himself. Not suprisingly, the number of benevolent dictators are very rare. Many dictators claim to be one, but few reach that level.

I believe it to be the most efficient form of government, but almost impossible to achieve since usually absolute power corrupts. Out of all the leaders you know, do you want any of them to have absolute power?
  10. What is meant by adequate protection? Any network can be hacked with the right amount of skills, time, and resources. I would assume that if Sony provided the same or greater level of security as other organizations that require to protect their data, then Sony and others would just need to improve their security. If I could hack Sony with a cellphone since my computer skills are as good as the average person, then they should be punished under the full extent of the law

When you have a larger population base to work from, with sufficient numbers dedicated to ensuring a reliable food supply, you can then branch out into other fields that allow for more specialization. Remember...everything in their society at those early stages, had to be made by another person. Every nail, every window pane, every piece of clothing, every door, every barrel, every cup, all were made by hand. There was no mass-production. They had it worse than the people who settled in the U.S., as they at least had the benefit of coming over with tools and some supplies. The Destinyites had (virtually) nothing but the knowledge in their heads. You can't just jump from that to mass production of tv sets, cars, and microwave ovens.

    Some examples...

Someone who is making light bulbs isn't making glass planes for windows or creating containers to allow for medium to long term storage of foodstuffs.

Someone who is making copper wire for electric lines isn't using that copper (or their time) for the production of buttons, plows, nails, door hinges, arrow heads or tools for the creation of homes or the capability to clear/work more land to ensure food for the winter and lean times.

Someone who is mining metal for the filaments isn't mining metal for the things the smith needs. Or digging wells or ensuring that the water supply for the community isn't in danger.

Someone who is making the ceramics to hold the light bulbs isn't making pottery for storage or cookware.

They simply don't have the capability with such a small population base to dedicate towards maintaining those unnecessary luxuries. And yes, having light bulbs is an unnecessary luxury. It's a stupid argument. Simply put, they don't NEED electricity at that stage in their development.

The best thing that can be done (and apparently was done) is to have Eli and the other boffins make sure that a record is put in place of those technological advances so that once it becomes necessary and feasible, that the populace doesn't need to start from scratch and has a leg up on their development. They didn't even have a real school until all but Camille were in the ground. Figure 50-70 years after landfall.
There is the issue that the colony is only about 40 people. So all that is necessary is one person that is responsible for creating the various "luxuries" like plates, light, and others. The point is that it is possible to create various luxuries we take for granted in a more primitive and useful form a few years after landfall not decades. Most of the colonists are scientists so they would be busy developing stuff to improve their lives. People don't need to spend 16 hours each day on surviving so the other time can be used for "luxury" items.

It is far easier to create something from a plan than to create it from scratch. The early colonists would not be able to create a modern fluorescent light bulb at the start. The first light bulbs didn't use tungsten and could have used numerous different filaments that are more available. Tungsten wasn't used until 1910 which is about a century before the first electric lamp was created. Apparently, Edison didn't discover the light bulb, but he did make it feasible. The early colonists would have used low tech principles to create "modern" equipment. Therefore, creating things like electric motors and light bulbs would be possible in a few years, but they wouldn't be as reliable as modern equipment.

Not only is this now (or will be?) the only Collection-of-badges "MO" that cannot be completed in one run, it all even boils down to the exact same challenge, which is defeating marauder without using any temp powers.

It's not even really much of an additional challenge to *only* get grenades and not use them, or *only* get acid and not use them.

It's still about beating marauder without using grenades. And then doing it again. And again. Which, given you've pretty much got the only group composition capable of doing it repeatedly, isn't much of a challenge, either.

There already exist players on some servers who are excluded from trials for various reasons - why GIVE PLAYERS THE EXCUSE to do so? The exclusivity of some players is bad enough, now some content is excluding specific ATs...

Give us a worthy MO for Lambda please.
I have to agree with this completely. The requirements for the lambda badges are the same. It is all just one strategy. Certain powersets and Incarnate powers are required to succeed at this. Although I like Seers, people should not be forced to create them just because they have Psi powers which is not resisted by Marauder.

In another thread dealing with this topic, I suggested that Antacid and Well Stocked have the can't use its specific temp power while you can use the other temp powers. I also suggested that Lambda Looter would be given if the League didn't use any temp powers in the previous portion, but collected them all. So to get all 3 at once, it would be a regular Master of Lambda run. However, it would be possible to get Lambda Looter by having a few players go after the temp powers in the courtyard and use them. The system would check to see how many temp powers have been collected and how many have been used. If the number is less than 10 for each temp power, then badge is not granted. If number is greater than or equal to 10, then Lambda Looter granted. Don't have enough -res or exotic damage, then collect a grenade from every drop and pacify Marauder. Ambushes slaughtering your league, then grab a few acids and close the portals. Mastering a Trial should be all about using strategy and tactics to overcome difficult odds and holding onto temp powers is not an effective strategy. Any League should be able to get the Master of Lambda badge with the right amount of skill and strategy, not having the right powersets and incarnate powers.

The morality mission is obviously missing, but I assume that gaining credit for other alignments and the allowable tip missions might be just hero or villain depending on current alignment. Can't do a vigilante mission if you are a pure hero with no chance of falling.
  16. There is also the morality tip system for switching sides, accessing Praetoria through Pocket D, and joining an Incarnate Trial if you are level 50 and don't want to create another character.

  18. I am of the opinion that Time Tourism caused the Terminator loop. Idiotic time tourist drops iPad or their equivalent and scientist or businessman discovers iPad and develops it to be leading computer company of world. Company gets military contract to build Skynet and end of the world occurs where some time traveller hooks up with Sarah Connor. First two realities have John Connor don't exist. Also possible that John Connor's father is same idiot that dropped iPad in past so John Connor doesn't exist in only the first reality.

Taking a break for the holiday, but I can't do this since I am too close to my T4 Barrier, but I might take a break after getting it. Have 7 Empyreans to get before I get my 1st very rare component. Assuming I don't do the improbable and get a very rare component to drop. Anyone can get 2 T4s in a month through just Empyrean merits by doing both every day and assuming that 4 rares drop or you craft the rares.

I think PEATs would be added when they have 20-50 content for Praetoria since EATs all have 1-50 content or add hero and villain contacts for Praetorians.
  21. Ran it under an hour and we were just avoiding the optional objective. Was in an average team. Only recommendation I have is stay with the team. Those portal computers are nice to touch, but they spawn death. Learnt that the hard way.
  22. Now they just need to make Gladiators useful instead of just another badge for us badgers.
  23. If devs were more consistent with their implied threat to delete characters on test, then the devs would not need to be worried about players sticking with the test drive model. Or they could have it so that the test drive model has an expiry date. Say create a character and talk to the level up contact. Contact gives you enough XP to get to 50 and timer is activated for a specified period of time. Timer ends and perma dead character.

    Master of Lambda

I think the Lambda Looter badge should require you to get all the temps in the sabotage portion. It should also allow you to get any temps in the courtyard, even accidentally. You should NOT be allowed to use any of the temps. (Keeping track of where you got the temp could be a headache for some teams, and probably a pain to code. But I digress.) I also think that if you do this you, should have met the requirements for both Antacid and Well Stocked.
The reason why I suggested it is that almost everyone I see has Master of BAF while Master of Lambda is far more difficult to obtain. They should be at about the same level of difficulty. Also, it is not like you can shut down all the portals or pacify Marauder all the time with my suggestion for Lambda Looter. There would be nothing preventing players from getting Lambda Looter using the normal method, but it would give the players an edge when they need it. So instead of failing with 1% left, a few players could get the grenade and succeed. Players would be able to control the difficulty of the fight. Lambda Looter could be set so that the more temps from the courtyard used, the less likely the league will get the badge. Use one grenade and the league has a 90% of getting the badge. Close all portals and the league has 0% of getting the badge. Not sure how some people will react to badges based on probability.

    Master Runs

I would be in favor of the devs changing the TFs that award the classic Mo badges so that they are in line with the new Mo Badges. Not sure how many changes would be required. One badge could be awarded by defeating the Phalanx without killing any of the bots. Another could be don't defeat the Flyer in the STF. Another could be defeat the Future Phalanx on the ground in the LRSF. No deaths make for very irritable TFs.
