I wished that some of the SoA's costume items were available for all slots like the Crab Soldier's bladed gauntlets.
The only SoA costume item that is available with Ascension Armor is the Crab Backpack unless there is some future change that the devs haven't mentioned yet. -
I just find retcons in comics to be the result of laziness. Clark and Lois have been partners for too many decades and yet they haven't aged, got married, or had children. Clark I can understand since Superman is supposedly near immortal, but Lois is just a regular human so she should age. Progress is not existent in most comic books. I can't think of a single comic that has to retire characters every 20 years since they go from a hero character to a mentor character with a new hero character that picks up the mantle.

Had that problem with one of the many 3D movies that I have seen. I believe it has to deal with the focus since the first few minutes had the double image until me and others complained about it. If it was a problem with the glasses or movies, then it would not have been fixed so quickly.

Lex Luthor seeded the clouds over Kansas with Kryptonite to take care of Superman.

If you were in a prison, would you prefer playing WoW for 12 hours each day or working in a quarry, mine, factory, or any of the other hard labor that prisoners do? Doing hard labor for a few hours each day keeps the prisoners fit and playing WoW for a few hours each day keeps the prisoners from collapsing due to physical exhaustion.

Have to agree with this. Give 10 years and we might see 3D TVs without the glasses. 3D movie screens without the glasses would require something else since it would require not using a projector or some new technology. Glasses-free 3D TVs for about 10 people should be
possible eventually.
I personally like my 3DS, but the 3D camera should have better resolution, waiting for 3D movies on Netflix, and the lack of 3DS games are some major problems. -
Exterminating humans is a career not a hobby. It starts off as a hobby, but after the millionth human, it loses all fun.

I figure the next big move after 3D is restricted VR where you can see all that is happening in the room instead of just a minor fraction of it or experience the movie in first person. Imagine being trapped in a person's mind for 2 hours. The technology after that would have to be where the movies are more real than reality.
I am not certain if 3D lenses causes 3D movies to dim, but I do know that it is mostly the 3D glasses fault due to polarization. Would make more sense to have the same projector used to project 2D and 3D movies than having to switch out a lens each time since people forget. If you take 2 3D glasses and rotate one of the lenses, then all light is blocked off. Regular 3D glasses reduce the image intensity by 50%. -
Or maybe the Doctor that was shot was the duplicate and the Doctor was in the spacesuit.

Bugs vs. Humans is the same thing as Federation vs. Klingons, or any of the numerous wars that have resulted due to resources. Two diametrically opposed species meet together and need the same type of worlds for colonization. Wars usually don't start with one massive battle or tons of destruction. It is usually minor skirmishes that eventually turn into a war.

Quote:Our ancestors earned the right to vote. It is something we have to fight for all the time. The belief that they deserve something without willing to fight for it is whats wrong. There are numerous countries where the right to vote is not a basic, unalienable right and the only reason it is not is because those countries have not decided to fight for it. Fortunately, there have been many of those countries that have decided to fight for it this year. Unfortunately, those countries' government have always acted in their best interests rather than the peoples.You consider the freedom of voting a "self-entitlement?" That's frankly terrifying. It's a basic, unalienable right. The Constitution of the United States starts out "We the People" not "We the Government" or "We the State."
I'm sorry, but I dislike your political view terribly.
For your information, I am not a citizen of the United States. There is a lot of things in the United States that I am appalled by. One of them is the false superiority they display to other countries. Another is the amount of self-entitlement that exists. One of my philosophies is that if you are not willing to work for or defend something when it comes under attack, then it is not that important to a person. The most important things are things that you are willing to work for or defend so if someone is not willing to work for the right to vote or to defend it, then it is not that important. -
Quote:To you it is morally repugnant. To me it is prudent and effective. We do not live in a "free" society. We vote for which people we want to represent us and hope that they represent us in a fair manner. If there is a majority, then we have a democratic dictatorship. Effective voting on every issue requires clear knowledge of the issue by each voter instead of the cursory knowledge that most voters have. Why should some ignorant hillbilly vote for which scientific research to be funded when they don't have a clue about the potential rewards of it. Besides, the government in Starship Troopers appears to be more of a Direct Democracy than a Representative Democracy so it would be more accurate to consider all voters to have the same level of power as an elected official rather than regular citizens. Elected officials have to work to be elected so they earn the right to vote. Our vote only means something every four years while an elected official's vote means something every time a vote is called.That is not a free society. And earning the right to vote through service to the state is frankly morally repugnant and disgusting. The government exists to serve the people, not the other way around.
As far as your claim about the government exists to serve the people not itself, the more people involved in voting, the less power one individual can have. If people cared about how their government is run, then they could earn the right to vote provided that there is no repugnant restrictions like race, gender, or preference. I find self-entitlement to be far more repugnant than earning the right to vote. If people got more involved in the government and don't let someone else to do it, then votes would have more meaning.
Oh and IBTL or IBTD. -
Going to have to explain how Fascism equals only allowing people that serve their country to vote. Switzerland has compulsory military service and no one would consider it to be a fascist country. Most healthy males have about 1 year to vote before they have to serve their country. Since the voting age is 18 and the drafting age starts at 19. Therefore, most male Switzerland citizens have served their country before doing much voting. At least Starship Troopers allows people to choose if they want to serve or vote.
Also, the article doesn't mention anything about fascism. It just talks about the controversy of voting being earned not freely given. I have to agree with votes being earned since voting should require people to care for their country and military service is an effective way to prove that a person care more for their country than themselves. -
Quote:Anarchy Online has Insurance Terminals that insure your XP. So playing for 2 hours and dying without using the Insurance Terminal would make you lose all the XP you gained for that play session.- Anarchy Online... actually, I don't remember any more.
- I *believe* STO rezzed you in a safe spot, at least in PVE/instances.
STO has respawn points. -
I bought a Nintendo 3DS the day it came out so that should tell you what I think about 3D. Impatiently waiting for 3D versions of Tangled, Avatar, and other good 3D movies to come out on 3DS cartridges or Netflix. However, I find most movies don't need to be made into 3D movies. Assuming it is James Cameron that is directing the 3D version of Titanic, then it could be good, but I won't see it since I haven't seen the original or plan on ever seeing it. Only way I would see it is a future girlfriend or wife drags me to see it because she has a need for a decent Chick Flick.

Quote:Incarnate abilities aren't magic origin. Incarnate is the original origin before it split up and became Science, Technology, Natural, Magic, and Mutant. Kind of like the theory where gravity, electromagnetism, weak, and strong forces were originally one force at the beginning of the universe.(Underline added by me.)
A small quibble... Aren't ALL of the Incarnate abilities of a magic origin? I mean they are granted by the Well, right? Unrelatedly, I guess I also have an issue with folks complaining that Natural characters aren't covered by the Incarnate powers. There is a good reason why that is: as soon as they start to become an Incarnate... they cease to BE natural anymore.
I suppose Natural could be explained through either they had some latent alien DNA that wakened up or through extensive training and meditation, they were able to pass some impossible barrier and achieve enlightenment. -
Yes and No. Any reference to the intelligence controlling the TARDIS has to use Sexy. Referring to the blue box or any Time Lord's ship is still TARDIS. For example, Sexy takes us to the end of the universe. The Doctor lives in the TARDIS. Although, I suppose it would make for some interesting dialog. The Doctor lives in Sexy.
On second thought, it would depend on what Sexy is. If Sexy is a living organism that controls the TARDIS, then Sexy and TARDIS are two different things. If Sexy is the mind and TARDIS is the body, then we have to call the TARDIS Sexy. -
I don't like formulaic shows since they don't seem that much different than Mad Libs.
House can be phrased as:
For n=1 to n=x
{
The <medical treatment> to the <body part> didn't work.
Must not be <medical condition>. Try <new medical treatment> since it must be <new medical condition>.
n=n++
}
It was <new medical condition>. House was right all along. Let's bow to his medical superiority and regret being inferior to him.
If each episode can have most of its dialog written as the same Mad Lib, then it is not a well-written show.
Doctor Who is well-written since there are many episodes where you can't predict what will happen next in the episode and keeps you entertained for the ride most of the time. -
Quote:The Only Certain Way for people to be spoiler free.The people who *don't* want spoilers... I'm calling the people who insist that everything must be shiny and new (i.e. spoiler-free) to be enjoyable "ADD-headed buffoons". I can only imagine they flit frantically from new thing to new thing, desperately seeking out the next exciting surprise to use up and then toss aside like some hateful reminder of what it's like to actually enjoy something because it's good rather than because it was unknown, before inevitably running out of new things and dieing in a spectacular flash of boredom.

I find spoilers to be just like the back cover of a novel. If the spoilers indicate that the episode is good, then I have higher expectations of the episode.

SOE is back and players are getting an ingame compensation including free play time (45 days) for the inconvenience.

I always thought of the TARDIS having a consciousness that is so far beyond our understanding that there is no possible hope for us to understand it. She decided to kidnap the Doctor to explore the universe. She decides where the Doctor needs to go which explains why the Doctor is always at the right place and right time. The TARDIS is more alive than the automatons that live on the Earth whose entire life consists of getting up, work, go to bar, come home, watch TV, then sleep or some other routine where all thought has been destroyed.

The players who benefited from your friend's blunder have no obligation to reimburse your friend. Besides only a small fraction of the players actually read this section of the forums. Also there is no way at all to determine which server the sellers are from so your chances of finding them are almost impossible. Should teach your friend to be more careful about what they bid.

Actually thought this was about doing a reboot of Jem instead of just reairing the old episodes. Can get some of them from Youtube.
