Haha? I made this thread to apolige to the peeps I offended, yet I still keep offending them...Spelling is trully a personal refernce. If you want respect of others, you should spell correctly. If you don't care, then prepared to be bashed upon. I know this. Plain and simple! But if you hate someone or something so much, why put all your energy and time into it, when you could be putting it else where? Just a thought...

Why is it that on everyone of my threads, the topics change to grammer? Lol, I know that there are a lot of peeps on here that major in English, grammer, ect., but do you have to show off constantly? Everyone does have their own dialect of the English language, you don't like it, don't bother. If they wish to make changes, kool beans, by all means help them. But if they do not realize that they are speaking or typing that way, just be curtious enough to tell them. You shouldn't bash them if they don't want the help!
-
So, your telling me, that when your in the middle of a huge battle, you take the time to spell each word correctly, ect? That's crazy talk. Out of battle, I obvisiously talk like I should.
Now, about me being lonely with my toon, that is so wrong. I have a ton of friends on the game who are are always wanting to team with me. Plus, people I don't know always wanting to team with me. I understand that correct grammer is a huge part of roleplaying, and when I am in battle, using shorter vised words fills my cup of tea so that I can continue with battling like I should. -
Know any good websites or should I just take a gander myself on the web?

Quote:You spelled 'realize' wrong....
You do realise that the last time spelling was optional, it was back in the days of William Shakespeare, the most famous playwrite in the world.. and yet, looking back at his works now, his language is CHAOS even WITH approved spelling forms.

I know IO, but what kind really. There are so many different types and I don't want to waste my hard earned infamy on something that isn't for me. BTW, my origin is magic, I definitly should have said that in the beginning!

Quote:This is so true. I am fairly to to RPing myself in been in the D 3xQuote:
Yeah people I know who brought me back to CoX didn't like the term MRP because usually they felt it lead to the same crap, just another way to get off. :P
Personally I'm an MRPer, if stuff happens... well hey, "shiat" happens. But I don't purposefully go around looking for "stuff" to "do". Otherwise to me MRP is all about being mature about what is described or done in a RP format. Cursing, body language, violence, gory descriptions, etc/etc.
Like an R-rating pretty much.
Unless you know the other person in real life (as in actually met them, not just know each other from myspace), it's simply inappropriate to leave the guidelines the game itself has set of keeping things "T" rated, IMNSHO. Otherwise that hot 20 year old catgirl you described all those wicked naughty things to might really be a 13 year old boy.
Think about it.I guess I am a little scared of what to do and how to interact with the pro without looking like an idiot. This guide is a good guide. But if you use your common sense, myself included, I should be just fine!
With the quote from above, its just like talking to someone online. You trully can't believe them unless you have met them in person because everything they tell you could be a web of lies! -
Yes, i16 is a wonderful thing. I sorry for those who aren't enjoying as of I am!!!

LOL! A Spelling Nazi, that's new and interesting! What's the Nazi's name?
-
Ok, I have a level 48 faery brute with Super-Strengh/Willpower. She's good and all, but not good for bigger groups like coalitions, TFs, ect. How can I make her, Shikratia, better? BTW, how do I change my forum name, I accidently misspelled her name. LOL!
-
I understand i didn't need to apologize, but I didn't get on the forums so I could get bashed. I just wanted to be on here because you could communicate with other citizens of the game that 1. You would never run into and 2. I love meeting new peeps! The buttheads and the sweethearts, everyone is interesting to me. How they respond, react, their opinions....everything. I always thought of maybe being a therapists or psychologist or something of that nature.

Quote:Yea! I have another western Pennsylvanian on here! But ya, if you all lived here (meaning the English majors) you might hate it because of the way we talk!I haven't seen the original post(s) this thread refers to, so I don't know how annoying the colors or the grammar were, but your grammar in this thread looks OK to me. What I can't abide is people who write things like:
"Y is AE been nerf sence that was the only gr8 part of dis game!"
New or not, if someone can't even express themself on an 8th grade level, they shouldn't be wasting time playing videogames.
Anyway, welcome to a fellow western Pennsylvanian! I hope yunz have fun in dahntahn Paragon City n' at. Go Stillers! -
Just so I know, is this thread dead? And is there a way to delete it?
-
HA! I totally get it!
Its really hard to admit when your wrong, but I was wrong and got on a lot of peoples nerves and bad side and I definitly don't want that!
-
It's very hard to roleplay, escpecially with Shikratia. She's rather vulger and has a very quick temper. I have simply asked people to just go away or something of that nature, but I do understand critizing is everywhere and noone would be anywhere without it, but the lengths people go to really bothers me sometimes.
-
This may be the most pointless thread any of you have ever read. But I started this new thread to apologize. Apologize for my 'misuse' of colors in the font. I am not going to lie, I am VERY new to this. Before I just played the game for fun, then I discovered this forum site. It intrigued me to know that I could post so many things on here, for instance...the AE thread. But I obvisiously didn't know is how critical everyone is on here. I don't mean how critical people are with the thread titles or the idea of it, I mean how critical people are of color fonts and how i use my grammer, yadda yadda yadda...But since everyone here has been so kind as to point out my faults, let me point one out to you, when you know someone is newer on here, instead of being so mean about things, just give them a heads up and tell them politely, instead of, well, basically starting an arguement! I really don't expect any responses, and if I get a few, kool beans. I just wanted to tell everyone that happens to read this, that I am sorry for the colors of the font and my 'attitude'. Hopefully, in the future, I will get better at this!!

Quote:And just as a side note. Here's a little exercise for you. Turn your head away from the computer monitor for a few seconds, let your eyes focus on something else. Then, look back, and glance at the following picture. Within the first glance, what 'pops out' to your attention?
When I do it, all I see is this:
T e i f l
Shikratia
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with this result.
I have tried to change my signature, but it won't change and I have no idea why... -
I never asked for it to be explained in depth. And yes, I can read your responses just fine. I am not an idiot. But because I am newer to this forum, I wish peeps would be a little more understanding. Though, I am not talking about you, or even this thread of mine. It was a simple question of what is roleplaying? I guess, what the topic should have been was, 'What is everyone's definition of roleplaying?' And I really didn't mean to sound so angry with the the very first post. It's just I had just gotten off the game, and I had an issue with it and was still very angry with it. When I was in the D, with Epouvantable of course, I actually had no problems there. So, I figured my RPing was just fine.
-
Actually, I don't have the 'screw you attitude'. I only have the screw you attitude when people, like yourself, are so critical and don't even stay on the topic I have asked about! Yes, I have recently joined and considered a noob. Don't really care. So excuse me for being defensive when peeps won't even stay on topic!
The spelling, I was talking about the game. In the game, peeps get so critical about how you spell when your right in the middle of battle. Well, excuse me for shorting the words so I can type faster and attack at the same time.
BTW, why is everyone so angry with how I type on here? What is wrong with my grammer?
PS I will stay with the white text if peeps lay off my back -
Quote:I think sometimes people judge things, based on how the overall mass-concensus and appeal.
Something can be great, wonderful and useful without having universal appeal. I'll cite my own personal examples:
Ween
C#
Tofu
Seattle
Twelve-Sided Dice
Gamma World
Wes Anderson
The fact is, AE serves a wonderful purpose for role players, story tellers and those who like to dabble a little creativity with their game play. These people are the minority in these games, as others point out here all the time. Still, it doesn't mean mob-rule defines everything.
If it did, Citizen Kane would be considered garbage, Woody Allen a useless hack and Motorhead an inferior brand of metal. To my eyes, all of these assumptions are dead-wrong, but because all three were never truly beloved by the masses, and aren't readily pumped into frenzy by mainstream media or any other measure of "alive" versus "dead", you could argue they are not worthy. The precise argument, those who contend AE is "dead" are suggesting, from what I can see.
This doesn't mean that things that are obscure, or limited in appeal are inherently superior either. This is where "Indies" have it all wrong (in my view).
AE is a superb addition to this game. I use it all the time. Many of my other friends in this game do as well.
I tried boss farming, I hated it. I don't mind others found it wonderful and fun. I respect that. What I dislike was the sense of entitlement it created when it was nerfed, or worse, the idea that boss farming was "intelligent", and that it required skill. Boss farming was devoid of skill, it attempted to minimize all skill, effort and risk solely to make the XP dial go "whirrrr". Even the maps chosen, had to be the least challenging or interesting of all of them, because this could deter the XP ever so slightly.
This is all fun for some, but hardly something to brag about. To me, it would be like bragging about how well you jerk yourself. I mean, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, and we all enjoy it, but it is literally something a monkey can do.
Well, I don't know if your on my side or not! LOL! But yes, ChaosRed has a point and so did I. Hopefully this will end the pitiful arguement of me being whatever and now we can focus on AE, still breathing. Which is good. I like that, given that I have a few stories on there myself that are quite interesting if I may say so myself!!!
