Yes. I would quit the game in a second if I moved at that speed constantly. It's not about being spoiled, it's about this being a leisure activity presumably done for fun. I went in the trading house once and I will never go back on any character ever. I normally park my characters in WW/BM as the market teleport is the only patrol power I find useful, but I stood outside on the street in Praetoria when I logged.

Right click on the follow button and edit the text. Change Aggressive to Defensive.
If they're on both follow and defensive, you'll be in BG mode. -

I was about to come here and make a thread just like this, but I'll ride on this one instead. For a reasonably cheap build, here's what I'm using now...

This one you should be able to afford, and it has plenty of recharge and decent bonus healing. Plus it has 4 slots that can be easily moved wherever you want them.
But I want Piercing Rounds, so here is the build I'll be changing to as soon as I decide if 1 more membrane exposure is worth 0.3 seconds on Fort and figure out where to pull one more slot to stick a -recharge in PR...

Like it all you want, but on many characters it can save you 2 wasted power choices by adequately substituting for a travel power while requiring no slotting. I would be absolutely shocked if most people didn't buy it for it's effect - it's easily considered the most powerful of the buyable powers.
-
Someone needs to make arch-nemeses characters and pact them.
-
As I still have never seen more than 3 people in any of the auction houses at once, I think people are making stuff like this up.
-
Are there special missions that give bosses even though they are turned off?
I started getting Malta bosses in a normal mission thread, but thought it might be part of that mission that force bosses no matter what your settings are, but then I got the same thing with Devouring Earth in a morality mission.
So far, other enemy groups are fine, but Earth were throwing 3+ bosses into every spawn and they were eating through my defenses like they weren't there. -

All I can say is that I'm glad Praetoria only goes to 20, as I consider the trading house unusable and won't enter. If they left sprint and ninja run alone I could handle it, but molasses run speed is not something I want to put up with in these needlessly big rooms.

What? You don't think "the best way to find a team in-game is to visit the server forum" speaks to a flaw?

Consider this: What about the people that preordered thinking they would get ALL the GR content? That's called Bait and Switch and it is illegal. -
My demon MM guards the gates of hell, but you occasionally need to take the boys out for a walk. Otherwise, they will ruin your carpet.

Quote:Taunting is not what it is in WoW. You will get attacked. Your scrapper will and your blaster will. The blaster defends by being far away and having some minimal control. The scrapper defends by using defense/resist.As a tank that makes good sense I guess, but why do so many scrappers go on about it? Now understand I am used to WoW, and if anyone but the tank gets hit by a boss that's all she wrote anyway, so no one other than tanks go for def. I realize this isn't WoW, but other than for soloing (farming) why would a scrapper (or stalker) want softcap (I assume that the squishies don't even try for it?) wanna softcap? Are AoEs that bad at endgame? Maybe it's necessary for farming (solo)?

I'd say it's more likely to encourage grouping. How long until we see padding messages?
-
Yea, I figured it was just a delay, so I bought 2 so I could play right away, and those don't show up either. I can accept the free ones might not show up until the day it's supposed to be released, but it looks like the entire system is shot. Hopefully I won't get charged and have nothing to show.

My experience as well. If anything, my other attacks actually do something meaningful now instead of being a big light show to finish off 2 lts.

Quote:So you openly admit to trolling.I think a lot of people are thinking that I'm saying defense-based armors suck. This isn't what I'm saying at all. In fact, if you go to the Archetypes and Powers Discussion part of the forums, you'll see that I'm very excited making my Ice Armor Tank :]. Sure, the title may suggest otherwise, but it's just to grab the readers' attention.
Quote:Still, I'm saying that resistance-based armors have more potential to become better from IO bonuses. If we're just comparing resistance armor with defense armor without any set bonuses from IO's, then yes defense-based armors would be just as good if not better...but IO's and set bonuses change everything.
Not only have people described why you are theoretically wrong, the simple act of observing reality would show that you are wrong in a practical sense. -
The op demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of how defense works in this game. Softcapping isn't easy. And it's harder still when you don't have a base to work from. +3 defense is worth 3-5 billion inf. Sure, a resist based character who got all of the same defense as a SR would be incredible, but that's not actually an option in the game. And "layered" defensive powers isn't necessarily good with the way defense stacks. Even if my shield defender could stack resist as easily as defense, I wouldn't bother with it. Those extra 2-3 percents in defense offer me more mitigation than 20% in a resist would.
-
Shields of any type only come into their own once they can essentially stop incoming damage completely (or completely enough for natural regeneration to take care of). Before the buffs/debuffs get to that stage or before you can keep damage only happening to the people with defense that good, then healing is better. The other abilities only become better than healing when you reach a point where healing isn't needed, not because they are intrinsically more powerful.
-
For the fire/SD, purples are hard to use. You really need to get a bit of defense to cap all positions, so you don't have a lot of room left for purple sets. I'm sure you could fit a couple if you got the gladiator +def. I make do without PVP or purple sets and the character is still a beast - but I have zero slots/powers to spare.

Quote:I can do +0/X8 without paying attention. That's what I farm with. +2/X8 I might have to eat a green occasionally. I've been in full teams where the whole team strategy was to follow my character around and kill anything I didn't get to. Not only realistic, it's easy. The only thing I've had that was easier was my bots/FF.I just saw some builds for Scrapper Fire/Shield that are purported to be highly effective - softcapped at 45% def, lots of damage, etc.
Anyone familiar with Fire/SD Scrappers that can chime in? One thing I read said that he was even handling +2/8-man solo missions! Realistic?
