The problem here is with the word "mix". Having the weekly task force be lower level is a great idea. Having to run a low level TF with a 50 in order to advance at 50 is a horrendous idea. The problem isn't with a low level WTF, it's with the stupid notices being tied to the WTF.

It would be better if they improved the quality of the other TFs to make them desirable. It's not like people will run STF any more next week than they did last week. At best, you're adding a third option to the mix, not opening up a wide world of new things to do.

A better choice would be looking at why LGTF and ITF get run so much more than the others and trying to replicate that formula for success in the currently existing crap TFs.

    Fixed.

I got my merc/pain to 50 and it works, but comparing it to my bot/FF or Demon/poison makes the mercs look pathetic. I never found anything mercs could do better than the others. It can't steamroll like demons or stand up to AVs like bots.

Maybe. But running missions without a team is as much of an action as running those same missions with a team. I'd love to hear the reasoning why one of those actions is more valid than the other.

    Great extension of the metaphor.

Except in this case there are concrete rails blocking everything but the carpool lane. People are expecting "you go faster with a group", but are unhappy with "no group = **** off".
  6. Without the end alpha the prince is going to be drained constantly. Shiver and Chilling Embrace don't benefit from the end reduction in the pet damage sets - and he spams those.

The other build that mixes end reduct from both slow and damage sets might do much better on end (insofar as the prince is concerned.)
  7. Well, if it was button pushing/babysitting you don't like, then Willpower is regen without the button pushing.

But, I don't think any dom would make you happy if you don't like micromanaging what your character is doing. Doms and trollers are both wet toilet paper squishy, and require the constant use of controls to keep you up. And Plant doesn't really have any passive controls that give you much defense at all.

If you're fine with melee, spines/wp seems like a better choice.

Not as rude as expecting someone to inconvenience themselves to please you when you could just go to a different zone without a crowded market - or, you know, buy a computer made since y2k.

And that would be a problem why?

That's part of the flavor of the set, though, so if someone doesn't like it, oh well. No way you can please them all.
But that's also a performance issue. Anything that dies before you hit it is wasted damage. Not that there shouldn't be sets like that, but if you're always Mr Too Late, it's going to make the set feel slower than it is. And they do seem to ignore a lot of things in their balancing equations, and where in the animation the damage occurs is likely one of those things.

NPCs of all types have exactly the speed and recharge rates that the developers want them to have. Having an auto-"power" that does nothing but increase these things is pointless as they simple set the values to whatever they want on their spreadsheets. Saying NPCs don't have mental training is about as meaningless as saying they don't slot accuracy enhancements.
  12. Why does mids list that as an option? I was so excited until i tried my respec. Physical perfection would be so much better than anything else I got.

I have it on one softcapped character, but even then I took it mainly for group support, not for it's own effect to that character.

Most characters who are going to get the softcap are going to have terrible modifiers for that power. A defender gets the best bonus, but isn't in the scrapper/brute/tank family. A tank is more likely to shoot for softcap, but gets almost no bonus from that power. Weave gives you over double the effect for less end cost. And that end cost matters on those high end builds.

    Stacking Procs

If I put them in Followup, poison dart, and gloom, it should be pretty much the same chance to get them to overlap as if they were all in the same power if I chain them. Of course, I didn't realize decimation was unique, so I guess it's just trying to get the two to stack - drop gloom then. Much better chance of getting just two to stack.

    --The Tailor Missions
Only the first two safeguards are really worth it since they give travel powers. And I've accidentally done a time travel once - usually it's easier to go to ww/bm and say "hey, could you open an oro portal".

Midnighter is the only necessary one.

    Stacking Procs

Will the build-up procs stack from different powers? Does it matter if they are from different sets? For example, 1 gaussian and 2 decimation procs, how many can be active at once?
  18. Yea, on the nightwidow thing - I haven't even started on an alternate fort build yet. But to get both, would it be worth it to dump eviscerate to get both? It's another step away from a melee build, but it's a stupid animation anyway.

  20. For a while I was trying to get my lich killed to summon the spirit with the highest pet. I would send it in and watch it's heath dip precariously low and then stop and start rising. Then me and the other guys would run in and see a group standing around doing nothing while the lich blasted them for negligible damage.

At that point my glass cannon zombies could eat them with no danger. I wouldn't want to try that at /X8, but it's silly how much control they have.
  21. When I hit 47, I respeced to start on my final build for my widow. Originally, I had tried all melee, but the -regen on poison dart was too tempting. Since I had one ranged power, I decided it was worth it to grab another AoE cone.

I figured the Scream would be better since it was the highest level power and was in the specialization tree, but I find I seldom use it (got plenty of attack powers). So, I was thinking of changing to the burst for more stackable -regen. It's better for specialized AV situations and it's not like I need to use either power every fight anyway.

How do the two really stack up? Any good reason to take one over the other? Is psy really that much better than toxic in terms of mob resists?

    Tip drops

It's been over a week since I got/did any tips, so it's not any of the slots being full. I really don't know what kind of string of luck would equal no tip drops in 12+ missions.

    Tip drops

So, I moved villain to rogue and fine. I went to PI and got the first 6 hero tips fine. Now I get nothing. I started at 45, and I've run enough radio missions at 0/X3 with bosses to get 2 bank missions and leveled up to 46, and no tip drops.

I went back to grandville and got 3 tip drops in < 10 minutes. I delete them, back to PI and nothing. I'm still rogue and still have the rogue power, so nothing happened to change my alignment, but I don't get drops.

I bugged it, but I wanted to know if anyone else has seen this and if so, is there a workaround. I'm thinking I'll try to get a hero tip group, but it would be nice if I could get a drop myself.

Ultimately, you're really only getting the same benefit that a Scrapper, Tanker or Brute would get from Leadership.
Except, a scrapper or tanker or brute can take another power that directly increases survivability or damage, and MMs often cannot. It's not that MMs get more benefit from leadership than others do (because they don't), it's that they get less benefit from everything else (including inspirations and set bonuses and armor powers).

True, but I have a demon/poison and took all but the first demon attack and all of poison except the crappy sleep trap, and I still had enough room for all the leadership. When I said "crappy attack", I really meant some epic single target immobilize that is basically inferior to the worst leadership could do for me.
