I think the Brute damage cap is 800% or something like that. Highest of all ATs. If you're running with 100% Fury, +60% stacked Follow Up, approximately +95% IO buffs per power and a +49.5% from set bonuses, you are looking at +304.5% damage bonus.

Adding Musculature Core for about +33% damage (After ED) and Assault +10.5% will give you a total of about +348% damage which will equal to about +13 DPS on your FU-Foc-Sla attack chain. Not a huge difference but those would be the only changes I would make to increase DPS. Anything else would be scraping bottom of the barrel unless there's a better attack chain.

Add/subtract enhancement boosted IOs by clicking the +/- signs before selecting the IO.

Last I read, devs changed Hybrid. It costs 0 endurance to use and has a 120s up time and 120s downtime but is still labelled as a toggle.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I think the base damage of each power counts as 100% as well. Someone else can probably confirm that.
  2. Nice build! If I had a Claws/SR Brute, do not know how I would build it. I am pretty sure you can get enough recharge to run the FU-Focus-Slash chain and can definitely hit the softcap without the Agility Alpha. Musculature might get watered down when Fury is involved but still well under the brute's damage cap.

You can save some slots if you get the Glad Armor +3% def. You won't need to 6 slot the Red Fortunes. Can drop a couple slots in Tough by 6 slotting Performance Shifter for the +3.13% AoE def. Use Enhancement Boosters to get Hasten close to perma. Drop the proc out of Shockwave for the 10% recharge bonus. Stupefy Boxing for a little more recharge and VOILA!

Regardless of what AT I am playing, I take Leadership powers often as long as I have the endurance to run it/them. Hasten is needed if you want to use the top attack chain but you can probably come up with something pretty darn good without it. Currently the best known chain is: (BU-AS-CU) SB-AS-SC-SB-AS-CU

My personal best time using that chain is 2:42 for 364 DPS but TommyTrD recorded a time of 2:14 for 414 DPS. As he put it, "BOOOOOOOM!"
  4. ElM/SD is a great combo. AAO is a taunt aura which keep enemies pretty tight around you at all times. LR and SC is still one of the best 1-2 AoE combo in the game. Toss in Spring Attack/Judgement/Fireball and you will be decimating groups, one after the other from mission start to end.

I also like Spines/DA. Double damage aura is nice and 2 good AoE attacks (Throw Spines and Spine Burst). Does not need a lot of recharge to run it's top attack chain and easy to reach softcap in S/L/E/N. I do not usually mind enemies running in fear as 2 attacks in the chain are ranged.
  5. I was genericized once for a character named Captain Latin America, a MA/Shield scrapper. I made 5 different costumes, each one using colors of various South American flags. One costume was red, white and blue with a star, fashioned after the Chile flag. There was a star on the shield but the rest of the costume was pretty different from Marvel's Captain America.

All 5 costume slots and my name was gen'd including the Brazil (green, yellow and blue), Peru (red, green and white), Colombia (yellow, blue and red) and Argentina (white, blue and yellow) costumes.

I thought it was a little much that the CoH rep trashed everything.

    Slotting Necro

The problem is, I'm not sure what to slot into those pets. I'm looking to give the pets the best performance, not looking for set bonuses. So frankenslotting is probably the way I want to go. Is the heal the pets get worth slotting a Heal/Something IO into them? What procs are the best to use? Is it worth putting an Achilles Heel in Grave Knights? Also, do I need to slot any control enhancements in the Lich? Sorry for the rapid questions, but I'm a little new to slotting MMs with IOs
Not sure if I have ideal slotting but it seems to be working out well. The MM ATO is pretty decent in Soul Extraction but typically crappy in other pets. All pets including soul extracted has no endurance problems, in fact probably too much end as their blue bar just bounces between 90-100%.

I did not slot any heal or control IOs in the Lich. With the DM secondary it felt redundant as he would be spitting out the same controls as Dark Servant and myself. Also since Lich attacks are all range, he is rarely the target of attacks and the base heal to Life Drain is good enough. Thanks to the devs for not giving him brawl.

I try not to keep Soul Extraction as just an IO aura mule, their damage is decent and worth enhancing. Spread the auras out among all pets and you can still get enough acc, dam, end redux, procs to make them formidable.

I did some proc testing when players mentioned defense debuff procs did not trigger often in Grave Knights. It is less than what I expected but it was still enough I put it in. Ran around RWZ fighting lower level groups with just the Lich and Grave Knights. On average, the Lich with Cloud Senses proc'd about 11 times per group. Grave Knights with Touch of Lady Grey proc'd around 8 times, split between 2 pets, per group. So it was considerably less. I did not keep track of Achilles Heel but it should be procing the same as ToLG. No other damage proc is worth the slot as too few of the pet's powers has a chance to trigger them.

For big time fun using old school classics, Spines/DA! Running 2 damage auras is pretty sweet. Managing endurance will be an uphill battle all the way to 50 but it is doable and worth it IMO. I used to have a total of 10 damage procs in the auras and on occasion, before even clicking an attack, several minions would automatically collapse the second I jump in.

If you just want to try the newer powersets, I did not really like the momentum mechanic for Titan Weapons. I will only play Street Justice on a stalker as StJ on other ATs do not compare in regards to DPS.

I recommend a Staff Fighting, Electric Melee or Kinetic Melee scrapper. As for secondaries, I like Dark Armor, Regen, Energy Aura, Super Reflexes and Shield.
  9. Since endurance isn't a problem, build for less end and add slots to your attacks for procs.

Made a few changes to your build. DDR is a little low for an SR scrapper but my SR stalker runs with 84% DDR and is pretty solid. If you really want DDR at 95%, use enhancement boosters on the LotG defense IOs in the build.

Added 5 procs between Smite, MG and SL. In one cycle of the Sm-MG-Sm-SL attack chain will give you 7 chances to proc for extra damage (Providing you hit your target). On average I think you will get 2 successful procs with one cycle of that chain for about 140-180 pts of bonus damage.

  11. IA builds type defense better than positional so Touch of Death, Mako's Bite, Obliteration and Scirocco's Dervish are not really ideal. Kinetic Combat IOs are great for S/L and a combo of Cleaving Blow and Eradication IOs will help bring your E/N defense to softcap. I often use Aegis if I want to build for F/C defense.

All added slots/IOs you have in Combat Jump should be put into Hide instead. They provide the same base defense of 1.88%. It is better when exemplar below level 25 and you will keep the defense bonus if you run out of end and CJ detoggles (Hide uses 0 endurance) or decide to use Super Jump. Also you do not need the extra KB protection.

    Will it get better????
Spines/Elec scrapper is a totally different beast. Using Assassin's Impaler on a regular basis really does burn the blue bar. Both Spines and Ice Armor use more endurance than the average stalker set. There are levels to look forward to to help alleviate your endurance woes.

    Level 17 - Miracle +recovery IO
Level 18 - Performance Shifter Chance for +end IO
    Level 27 - Numina +regen/recovery IO
    Level 35 - Energy Absorption/Superior Conditioning/Physical Perfection
    Level 38 - Icy Bastion
Level 41 - Physical Perfection (If Superior Conditioning was taken before)

I also recommend 3 slotting Stamina until 19 and then add a 4th slot for the PF proc. Respec out what you do not need at a later level. Make sure you do not keep powers like Sprint or Ninja Run active while fighting. It'll get better, guaranteed!
  13. Not sure if it has been said already but I would like to see Atlantean pets. Using the announced Water Blast set at the last summit and the Staff Fighting, trident weapon. Some decent pets can probably be made.

I would like to see a MM set with no theme. Just tier 1, 2 and 3 pets with powers but no pattern to one another. So it would be like a group of heroes or villains brought together by the MM, like a miniature Justice League. One pet would be a melee specialist, another ranged, a support specialist, a taunter type and of course, controls.

I also want cowboys/indians, insects, aliens and the angel sets.

I have never really found Mercs to be that bad. They have their downsides compared to other pets but in the end, they still held up well through content I played. The 'stay' command is a Merc's best friend. I say leave mercs be and just create Guerrillas or Green Berets. Gorillas! Vicious monkeys like in Rise of the Planet of the Apes or Congo. Strong smashing attacks and they throw bananas and fling their feces at targets.

I have seen a lot of regen builds in the past and they vary depending upon the player's playstyle and concepts. I have built my DM/Regen scrapper to try to be decent in all areas but is not exceptional in any one.

With stalkers having lower hitpoints and since you picked the Soul Mastery PPP, I recommend just building for high recharge and letting everything else fall into place. High recharge to run a top ST attack chain, Dull Pain well perma'd, Reconstruction recharging within 15s, Instant Heal up more than 50% of the time, Lightning Rod and Thunderstrike up as often as possible for some knockdown mitigation, Shadow Meld with a 20ish sec recharge so it can be running 75ish% of the time and MoG should be recharging in less than 60s.

Spiritual Core or Agility Radial would work well with the following build. Incarnate trials can get hairy if you're running abouts solo so carry some small purple inspira to help you along. I hate that stalker regen lost Quick Recovery but I imagine Ageless would be your best friend:

    /macro FXon "SuppressCloseFx 0"

They add buttons to your tray that can turn power Fx off and on. Works great for IA.

Actually, my question should be...Is capped Stealth necessary in the Arena, specially when everyone knows to keep moving to avoid AS?
I haven't PvP'd or played the arena in ages. I remember players being able to see me at times when I only ran Hide and the Celerity unique. It wasn't until I added Stealth into the mix that I was totally hidden to everyone. I used to just stand around, wait for people to run by and click AS when they pass me. They'll be a good 50 yards away when suddenly 2/3rds of their hp is gone and someone else would finish them off. I was a pretty lazy PvPer.

By the way, when in game, open up your Combat Attributes under the Powers tab and check your melee/ranged/aoe defense. It will give you all the percentages of your current defense. Then go and punch something in the face to see how close you are to being softcap after Hide/Stealth becomes suppressed. It might help you decide if you want to work on it some more.
  17. I take Tough and Weave for all my melee characters. Some players 1 or 2 slot Tough for the Steadfast Protection and Gladiator's Armor unique IOs (For a total of +6% defense to everything) and leave it detoggled during gameplay to save their endurance.

With defense taken care of, I'm not sure about the slots for my Patron powers. Seems like there isn't enough for them. Do Patron powers need more than 2 slots? If not, then I'll just focus more on others.

You've been a big help so far, thank you so much!
No, the damage sets do not offer the same increases in buffs. Below is a pic comparing Touch of Death vs Mako's Bite:

Even with ToD at max lvl 40 and Mako at 50, ToD still has a higher dam buff while Mako has better acc, end and rech buffs.

The levels of IOs does not make a huge difference IMO. A well built character is a well built character whether using lvl 35 IOs or lvl 50. In the end when slotting IO sets, the differences become fractions and are often small enough that they are not noticeable. It's the stacking set bonuses from the IO sets that count more.

Patron Powers is a preference. Some players use it because they like the powers/fit a concept, some use them as a mule to hold IO sets, some pick them because they need them. If the PP you picked isn't really categorized in any of the above, change them out or slot them less. You can easily take the Fighting Pool with those 3 PP picks and get yourself that much closer to softcap def.

Download Mids' onto a flash drive and bring it to school, work, friend's place and install it on a computer there. If anyone asks what you're doing, say, "Statesman is dead and I'm trying to save the world. Leave me alone!"

Dropped the defense in Kuji-In Retsu and added recharge instead, and planned to slot the LotG recharge in Hide, along with one for defense to get the regen bonus.

What is the Rule of 5? I don't follow, is it having too many attacks 6-slotted?
You can read about the Rule of 5 here:

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Rule_of_...e_Law_of_Fives

It's basically players cannot have more than 5 of one type of set bonus in their build. If we do, the 6th set bonus is null/void and does nothing for our build. For example if I slotted 5 full Mako's Bite sets and one full Numina's set, I would have six +3.75% ranged defense bonuses. My total ranged bonus would be 18.75%, not 22.5%.

Checkout the following links to find out what IO sets give bonuses to positional defense:

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Category..._Melee_Defense
    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Category...Ranged_Defense
    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Catego...Effect_Defense

To get softcap 45% defense, you will need a combination of powers (Ninja Reflexes, Danger Sense, Weave, Combat Jump, Stealth and Maneuvers), IO set bonuses and unique IOs (Steadfast Protection, Gladiator's Armor). There's also Nerve and Agility Alphas that increases def if you are playing incarnate material.

Try googling "City of Heroes Ninjitsu softcap build," and I am sure a whole bunch will pop up. Try to find one that lists the power picks/slotting as well as the datachunk.
  20. I took the time to put your current build together on Mids':

Stealth is helpful in PvP but for PvE, the extra stealth is overkill IMO. The only time I ever have it on a stalker is if I need the defense and want Ninja Run on all the time (NR detoggles Combat Jump).

On your build, when Hide and Stealth are suppressed, you have 36% melee, 44.8% range and 31% AoE defenses. Melee and AoE are pretty low, Ninjitsu can reach 45% softcap defense fairly easily with some effort and influence. Or is that your intent and planning to use Kuji-in Retsu often?

Kuji-in Retsu while active provides you 45% defense already without any slots. Add that onto your current def totals, you are well above 70% in m/r/a. I would just slot it for recharge.

I am not sure how experienced you are with CoH combat mechanics but maybe this page by Dechs Kaison will help. It discusses and explains the importance of softcap defense: http://dechskaison.blogspot.ca/2011/...important.html

You are above the Rule of 5 for 3% damage.

As for the Patron Pools, it's pretty much personal choice or to try to fix something a build may be lacking such as endurance, AoE/ranged attacks, holds, pets etc.

If you ever get Mids' going, here is your build:

  21. It depends on my stalker's primary/secondary. Fast attacks, Assault Core; slow attacks, Assault Radial.

If the build has softcap defense, Melee Core for the damage resistance (/DA would have maxed dam res to everything when surrounded by 10 enemies). Melee Radial if below softcap or to bump up to 59%.

Control Core would be horrible for most stalkers builds since it only enhances status effects (Does not apply them). I think Radial will be great if it double rolls for bonus damage if an enemy is both "controlled" and has low health.

Not a fan of Support but I will gladly reap the benefits of anyone who does take it.
  22. Too much chatter, not enough pylon kills:

    StJ/SR Stalker. (BU-AS-CU) SB-AS-SC-SB-AS-CU. T4 Musculature Radial, T4 Reactive Radial. 2:54, 349 DPS.
    NB/SR Stalker. GD-GC-SD-AS. T1 Musculature. 3:55, 291 DPS
    DB/Nin Stalker. Ablat-SS-Ablat-(BU)-AS-(Plac). T4 Agility Radial, T4 Reactive Radial. 2:55, 347 DPS

I have ElM/ElA and EM/EA stalkers at 50, frankenslotted with SOs and IOs. I'll bring them out of retirement and give them a try in the near future.

Ablating has the Hecatomb proc; AS has the Mako proc. I need the 10% recharge set bonus. Another damage proc would be nice but only really have space for an Achilles Heel.

I monitored the damage bonuses and normally have 26.5% and averaged around 106.5%. So iAssault gave a pretty constant 80% damage buff.

SBE = Store Bought Enhancements. Several of them proc better than normal IOs. The most notable is the Performance Shifter proc. It infuses 10% end, 3 times per minute. The normal PF IO proc is about 10% every 50 seconds (20% chance). I have 3 PF procs slotted, getting about 11.5 end infused every 8 seconds and I am still running out.

I didn't like the idea at first but I see the devs point of view even if they have not flat out and said their reason. I see our views as well even if I think the term "Pay2win" is a little exaggerated. I even gave in and dropped a month of points on the PF procs when they were 70 pts each just so my StJ/SR stalker and Spines/DA scrapper can maintain endurance.

In the end, players with (Old Mcdonald had a farm) SBE IOs doesn't affect me, my gameplay or the fun I have. I could be on a team where everyone else is IO'd to the gills with SBE's and I probably wouldn't even notice. I would just think, "Damn, we're pretty good!"
  24. Anyone playing their stalkers in i23 beta? I have a pylon time of 2:07 for 429 DPS on my DB/Nin (Thought I was going to say StJ/SR, didn't you?) with the new incarnate power. Also have the Hecatomb and a Mako's SBE procs equipped since they're free for testing purposes.
  25. Kinetics. I love speed boosted pets, they seem to move as fast as players. The recharge boost will help /Time through the lower levels, until fully IO'd. Don't forget the other powers like Transfusion, Siphon Power, Transference, Fulcrum Shift etc.

Go Corruptor and pair Kinetics with Sonic Attacks. The damage resist debuff is nice and any KB will not be much problem with pumped up pets.

I really hope devs give Kinetics to MM's someday.
