I think they fixed the Medic awhile ago. Brawl is still listed as a power but he does not use it at all anymore. I have not seen him run into melee for the past few issues. The only time I see him move is when a target is out of range for him to attack. He will move to within range, park himself there and keep shooting until something is dead. Hopefully not him.

Quote:.01, .02, .03 seconds difference in a cycle of an attack chain does not amount to a hill of beans. I might get one Ablating Strike attack more than you after running 20 cycles of the chain. Compare that to 30ish% damage buff to all your attacks, that's something that will stand out immensely.Well I wanted to see if somehow the gap was messing things up, so I rebuilt guessing at your build. I saved all the IOs and it's an easy enough respec to go back.
Judging by John's comment below, maybe the difference really is Reactive 75% DOT vs. Degen 75% DOT. I'm surprised, because previously the Degen T4 75% DOT was shaving a lot of people's times compared to Reactive.
I guess what I'll do is rebuild up to Reactive T4 (ugh, grinding) and test it first with the Agilty build, and then if that shows improvement, switch back to the Musc build. I'm just surprised that Reactive could be making that much of a difference.
One thing -- above you say "I do have T4 Assault Core Hybrid providing a constant 10% damage buff" -- but I thought your 2.27 time was without Assault Core Hybrid slotted?
EDIT: crapola I watched your video again and I see (I think) Assault Core Hybrid in your tray. Is that 10% part of your 36.5% base damage buff that displays in your combat monitor? Or is it in addition to that? (I built my Agility build to 36.5% base damage buff w/o Hybrid slotted). Is it possible that just having Hybrid slotted is putting you a good 15-20 secs ahead of my times?
EDIT2: Hey one other thing. I'm down here in Rio De Janeiro. Is it possible latency to the game servers is somehow affecting my times? I don't see lag on the runs but I wanted to ask.
All Hybrid powers gives the user a passive bonus regardless if the Hybrid power is toggled on or off. Hybrid Assault gives a 10% damage buff. Yes, 10% from Hybrid Assault is part of my 36.5% damage bonus; no, the Hybrid Assault passive bonus would not account for the 15-20seconds difference.
I think Degenerative Core is always the better option over Radial. Dropping a target's hitpoints (And consistantly keeping it down) also reduces their regeneration rate which seemingly increases DPS.
If the game is running smoothly, being in Rio De Janeiro likely does not matter.
I recommend going T4 Degen Core, T4 Musculature Core and keep using the Empower combo. Position your power tray better as you are getting quite a few misclicks. Toggle off Power Shield, Weave and Maneuvers. Forget the heals. You're playing an /EA, you can survive 2 hits in a row from a pylon. -
Quote:That's a cool build, I like that you hit isoftcap. The damage output will be on the low side if you plan to run with that many attacks but still pretty decent just because you're a stalker. I see you built for some run speed, I did the same at one point. I loved running past players that use Ninja Run when all I had was Sprint.Just want to know if I should slot for a decent amount of resistance or for more endurance management...
It's hard to say how much endurance you need without knowing what attack chain you will be using but it is looking pretty good. Only Assassin's Blade and Sweeping Strike use far more endurance than your actual end gain. As for damage resistance, yours is on the low side but I would not think about it until i24. With the set bonus changes to several IOs, it could possibly change your build quite a bit. -
Quote:Honestly, there are not many cons to this combo except for the psionic hole, enemies with autohit and boredom. Not a lot poses a problem and you will end up having a kamikaze mentality. First one in, take the alpha and 1-shot, 1-shot, 2-shot, 1 shot, 2-shot, 3-shot, 1-shot, 1-shot, 2-shot everything to death. It becomes pretty mind numbing.I'm asking the players that have had any experience with Street Justice and/or Super Reflexes to give me some Pros and Cons of the build.
Build for a good regen and with the IO set bonus change coming up in i24, you may be able to get some decent damage resist numbers. Incarnates can easily fix any problems you may have with the build.
"The best defense is a good offense" but the defense alone is not all that bad to begin with. -
My attacks are slotted the exact same way yours are except I have the Armageddon damage purp instead of the dam/rech. SS can still recharge fast enough to run the chain with the change and it adds a measly 3% damage buff to the attack.
Your times are not that far off from mine. I do have T4 Assault Core Hybrid providing a constant 10% damage buff and I am running T4 Reactive Radial Interface over T4 Degenerative Radial. I could have sworn T4 Degenerative CORE is supposed to be the better option of the degen tree.
Ageless and the heal are hurting your pylon times as well. It's harder to build for endurance gain on a /EA character but then again, an EA character should not need it as it has powers to mitigate that problem: Energize, Energy Drain and Overload. Unfortunately using those will worsen your pylon time.
I can't believe you went Agility, you should be destroying my pylon times with Musculature even with a slightly longer gap. -
Quote:I think it has something to do with BU insta-recharge. It causes queued powers to cancel. When I tested it on my scrapper a few days ago, all melee ST attacks (QS, BB, SB, CS) had normal activation times. Perhaps it's different on stalkers - if so, that would be interesting because it'd show this is a bug tied to stalkers specifically. I can't test it myself, having no KM stalker.

Quote:That's sad, the Empower Combo should be improving your DPS. I haven't done any calculations but I did do several runs without using it and the difference was significant enough I decided to integrate it in the chain. I don't remember the average times but was probably a 10-15 second improvement (Anything less than 10s, I likely would not have bothered).Interesting things: using waterspout or even the empower combo (BU-AS-Placate) seems at worst to lower dps and at best not to improve it. My guess is even the slight delay in actually dps caused by casting WS or using Placate (even with 20% boost thereafter to dmg) is enough to eat up dps at this high level. Kind of a bummer as I thought WS would really help. Maybe in both cases redraw in DB also plays a factor.
For all but the last run I was using recovery serum, as my endo is pretty poor unless I use ageless or click Energize (which eats dps).
DB/Nin: T4 Agility Radial and T4 Reactive Radial, 2:27 for 389 DPS.

Quote:Hopped on I24 Beta to be able to test and compare the T4s, but it didn't make for a very convincing experience. There are MAJOR bugs in I24. Sweeping Cross activates instantly almost all the time against a pylon. Queued attacks sometimes stop being queued - unless you mash the keyboard like the maniac, in which case they stay queued perfectly. So, don't mistake the following improvements of these numbers, compared to my Live runs, for a mere result of the PPM changes, there's also something else, something weird, at play.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-eW_P_NqMg -
After i24, a purple damage proc in AS may provide better results than the ATO1 proc. I believe the ATO2 proc is a global. Use your initial power pick as a mule for that.
-
Which Stalker combo are you favoring? Welcome back to the game!
-
Maybe action speaks louder than words. Previous average pylon times was around 2:30 for about 380 DPS. I24 Beta using the same attack chain; same incarnate powers but slight change to build for 1:30ish for 550ish DPS mostly due to the proc changes. Around 170 DPS increase:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-eW_P_NqMg
Blow it up full screen and read the damage inflicted window. The final line at the end of each attack will indicate whether the proc activated by saying the word 'bonus' in the sentence. -
Quote:Sounds like a fun combo I did not really consider. I tried making it a little unique by adding the Moonbeam snipe attack into the build. When i24 hits, you can pretty much get a constant +22% tohit thanks to the Empower Combo/Tactics/Kismet. It would probably hurt your DPS in the end due to redraw. Can still run the Ablat-SS-Ablat-AS attack chain. Agility Alpha recommended to get softcap in S/L/E/N and the little extra recharge boost and Ageless for recharge and endurance:Hey all, i've pretty much done every melee set but spines, EM and DB, and DB has my attention, So does ice armor, So i'm curious what optimum slotting would be. (On ipod currently, Comp is at the shop, so i can't provide any mids data on my side, Sorry.)

EM should be pretty strong come i24. Procs in Total Focus and Energy Transfer should activate 90ish% of the time which would add 200ish damage to each attack if you slot 3 of them. Figure out a chain to get ET to consistently critical and you will be laughing. Bwahahaha!

Quote:I really just made this character to utilize the snipe power on a stalker as KM has the best chance to add it to a normal attack chain without outside buffs. I haven't gotten my grubby mitts on a stalker ATO2 yet but maybe it might help fill the gap when CS critical fails.Bit of double posting, but twice the exposure on two relevant (albeit similar) topics: Using "the same" slotting, Quick Strike (Mako Proc, Hecatomb (except Acc/Rech): 162 DPA, Concentrated Strike (Mako Proc, Hecatomb (except Dam): 166 DPA. In most other cases where you choose not to slot QS with the Purple Proc, it can still match Body Blow for DPA. So, Concentrated Strike's leverage isn't quite as clear cut.
Swiped this from my Scrapper Pylon post:
Using QS > BB > QS > SB on KM/SR including the ATO2 +Critical, T4 Degenerative Radial, T4 Hybrid Assault Core, T4 Musculature Radial: 3:27 or 313 DPS. With no Hybrid - 4:40 for 264 DPS. I also pulled data from during Hybrid's duration out of the combat log and the KM/SR was doing 400+ DPS during the two minute run of Hybrid. The additional ~1:30 post Hybrid is what leveled it down to the 313. I couldn't match this using Concentrated Strike in any chain without a rather lucky string of CS criticals recharging PS.
Edit: I thought I should mention that the ^ test I ran used the store-bought Hecatomb to make sure I could weigh the PPM in its use.
I want to keep the chain at a 12 second cycle. 12 secs was the magic number to get CU to crit all the time on StJ. I do get 6, 7, 8 BU's in a row but a goof up in the chain and/or misses sort of messes things up a bit. -
Quote:Damn, with CS/BU in the SB-BB-QS-AS chain only adds 3 DPS. That's pretty disappointing. Doesn't seem like a next to perma 80% damage buff counts for much. Losing the critical, 0 DPS of BU's cast time can hurt KM it seems.*snip*
With SB BB QS AS CS BU SB BB QS AS, I'm only getting 240 DPS (no Musc). While the extra QS guarantees an AS crit, it seems the extra animation time spent on low DPA hurts the chain as a whole.
*snip*
Edit 3: call me stupid but I never noticed you could build up to 4 stacks, which results in keeping 1 after AS is used. So that makes the SB BB QS AS CS BU SB BB QS AS chain slightly better than the above numbers, by about 3 DPS. Still lags a bit behind the rest of the pack, though.
On another note, KM on beta is pretty sweet. Adding Moonbeam to the chain is kind of fun to achieve but will probably lose it's luster sometime down the road. I have T3 Musculature Total Radial Revamp and average around 350 DPS (2:55 and 2:48) if I do not run out of end first. Attack chain is sucking and BU is not recharging consistently like I hoped. The endurance consumption is brutal. Using Overload or Recovery Serum alone won't save my end, I need a combination of both. This will be my first Ageless character for sure.
Perfect the chain, add an Interface, manage endurance and KM will be able to achieve StJ and DB DPS numbers. -
Even though CS has a longer cast time, it still does have higher DPS than QS, BB and SB. Though a CS miss would slow KM's DPS quite a bit. Musculature would not skew the numbers but Reactive and Hybrid definitely can. More hits = more ticks of damage and/or more damage buffs. Procs will bump up the numbers in the SB-BB-QS-AS as well, more attacks gives more chances to proc. You can proc out QS (maybe BB too) and likely still have it recharge fast enough to run the chain.
Your chain has merit but I think you can improve the numbers by integrating CS though I have not crunched the numbers:
SB-BB-QS-AS-CS-BU-SB-BB-QS-AS
CS should crit 100% in that chain. All attacks except for CS will have the BU buff. -
Quote:Haha! I don't even know the names of the powers! Current chain: (BU-CS-BU-AS) BB-SB-BB-AS-CS-BU-AS. Planned build after i24 is: (BU-CS-BU-AS) MB-SB-AS-CS-BU/BBLooks at attack chain above. Thinks, "Ricodah loves StJ so much he even writes about it when he means KM"
Quote:What's your secondary (this is in regards to your END troubles)?
Are you also using the Gaussian proc in BU and/or the Decimation proc in Focused Burst?
The ATE2 proc in AS?
I'm also planning on slotting the Forced Feedback proc into Focused Burst and Quick Strike (possibly Burst as well; if and when they get it fixed).
I paired KM with Energy Aura. I'm playing around on live and haven't tested it out on beta. Endurance is only a problem vs a pylon, I use Energy Drain freely during normal play. I do not have any plans to add Focused Burst or Quick Strike to the attack chain though I did take both to act as mules. Current build is below, it will likely stay the same until i24 is released otherwise I will just end up burning respecs.

Quote:Not going well. I am pretty unimpressed with a KM Stalker's damage output. So much so I do not think Moonbeam would greatly improve it's DPS. Endurance usage is really high. Crafted a Recovery Serum temp and have an end gain of 4.16 e/s and still managing to run out. Currently running: (BU-CS-BU-AS) HB-SB-HB-AS-CU-BU-AS. Planned build after i24 is: (BU-CS-BU-AS) MB-SB-AS-CU-BU/HB.I love your Build Up Stalker concept with Moonbeam. That's pretty slick thinking and a great way to leverage new game mechanics. I hit a wall trying to figure out how you can keep BU up enough to have Moonbeam always ready ... it seemed like there would be one run through of the chain where MB wasn't fast cast, every other go or so? Maybe that is where the new Stalker ATO proc can make a difference.
Anyway it's a killer idea. Let us know how it goes.
For MB to be a perma-snipe in the above, it would need BU to recharge every 2nd cycle of the attack chain. -
I like the idea but some may see it as being OP even if they are temp powers. For example, my MM on a LRSF:
-
The build looks icap'd to me. 61.59% def to S/L and 60.35% to Energy. Did you mean to leave Maneuvers off?
-
Most cases, not a good idea. Every NB/Kat player should have enough recharge to run their attack chain without relying on the randomness of the FF proc to achieve it for them. It really depends on the secondary. Getting powers like Fiery Embrace, MoG, Dark Regeneration etc to recharge at a quicker rate would be a bonus.
-
Quote:Wow! You are reading my mind. I just started working on a KM/EA stalker yesterday to try to utilize stacked BU and integrating Moonbeam into the attack chain as it is supposed to be affected by the i24 snipe change. So far, the planned chain is BU/BB-SB-MB-AS-CS.From what I could glean from the forumites, Kinetic Melee is near the top because of Concentrated Strike's ability to keep BU recharged almost indefinitely; meaning that you're running at 80% higher than listed damage... almost indefinitely.
There's a proc coming that may allow the same effect but a lower chance that could help fill that down time (slotted into a different power)
Throw a Decimation proc into Focused Burst and a Gausian proc into BU and you should be golden.
And the attacks give you added survivability. (I do have a question about the extent of that survivability; I know that the damage debuff doesn't stack when delivered from the same power... but does it stack when chaining different attacks?)
[Another question: Are Stalker Snipes going to be affected by changes in i24?]
Played for 6 hours yesterday and hit lvl 26 and 40 Vampyri away from the Atlas Medallion. The stalker ATO is fantastic in KM, AS-Burst and everyone gets a critical. -
Fully slotted with 6 Cloud Senses. Out of the 5 powers Dark Servant has, there is only 1 heal, 1 hold and 1 immobilize. Slotting any of those IO types would be less beneficial as using Cloud Sense (4 out of 5 powers is a -tohit debuff). Accurate -tohit debuff IOs over the regular -tohit debuff as I want DS powers to hit more frequently. Cloud Sense over Siphon Insight as the damage proc is more appealing than +tohit buff proc.

Quote:-Slot for endurance reduction in toggles and attacks. What are some ways that people controled endurance consumption on a spine/dark armor scrapper between the levels of 25-35 without IOs?
-Slot a Theft of Essence proc into Dark Regeneration as soon as you pick it,
-Slot a Miracle unique at level 17,
-4 slot Stamina and a Performance Shifter proc by level 18,
-Switch to SOs at level 22,
-Get the Atlas Medallion by level 25
-Slot a Numina unique at level 27,

I also recommend not using Cloak of Fear until you have your endurance under control. You are going to love the Cardiac Alpha on your build. -
