well, maybe, that would be great, but considering the last packs only had so many parts, usually a max of 2 whole sets per, we already have 3 animals, more would rock, buti i'm keeping myself restrained. i have been asking for fish stuff for a while, and it would work for some of my existing characters, so if we get soemthing for the sea, im all smiles.

you know, it would be a lot of work, but a number of distinct movement types for baddies would really really be nice. baby steps i guess, but it would really be something i'd find worthwhile.

Quote:no, not at all. a while a go i watched a few of the older cartoons that i absolutely loved as a kid(he man, gi joe, galaxy rangers, silverhawks, thundercats, and godzilla), the art, animation and stories were painfully bad. nostalgia had me thinking they were a lot better than they were, watching a "fight" scene in g.i. joe where nobody actually hit each other(the dreadnaughts fight over breath mints and candy mints) drove home how bad the old cartoons really were, they were so much worse than we remember. Is anyone else bothered by how "anime" inspired all the cartoons are these days?
I really miss older style animation and seems any time I see a new remake of those old 80s cartoons there redone in some anime-ish fashion and I just don't like it as much.
I prefer the older style animation, though Lion-O did look like a clown. -
Quote:i love ya Troy, but if neil came here, i would be stalking the hell out of him. we need to get adam warren here too.I love you guys.
And no, I don't think this is advertising. If, say, Neil Gaiman suddenly started playing CoH, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have to delete all the threads that pertain to his writing.
Mr_Ultimate - Bless your heart. You are hereby made an official member of Twilight Guardian's Midnight Squad (check here for further info).
And if any of you either can't wait until tomorrow to buy it, or aren't sure if you want to without a "taste," you can check out the first five pages here.
Y'know, it occurs to me that I'll be competing with the death of SPOILER in the Fantastic Four... -

ok, chase, not knowing any of your other friends with boxers, should I be concerned that this is how you remember my dogs?
-
already had a boxing one. it let us all know that greg brady is a wuss and danny partridge is terrifying.

Quote:agreed, there is just being alive, and there is living. maybe his diet was crazy, maybe it wasn't, its not something i did, but his advocacy of physical exercise helped a lot of people live the years they had a great deal more fully. And he was active and exercising to the end...
Call that living? I do!
Thanks Jack!!
and you know, george burns was also a dancer, its not like he sat around in a lazy boy all day, the man did some cardio with his routines. -
off topic of the writing, but finally got around to playing it today, and i really wish on the fire rescue mission that, after slapping arrows on just about every boss at that point, that they had put a indicator that you could use the easy to overlook fire escape door.

Quote:well, if its any consolation, it would be great, i'm just trying to keep expectations reasonable, thats all. they could do it, its not impossible, they just have to decide that the effort would be worth it, if they do, they will. i try to tamp down things a bit because some posters get their expectations unrealistically high, then spend the weeks afterward moaning and complaining in threads that i otherwise was reading,so just setting up the sandbags in a selfish desire to not want to punch my monitor, it was pricey and shards hurt my handOkay, replace them.
Can't I be right about anything in this thread? Jeez, it's just wishful thinking guys. I suggested coats and jackets by placing them on a layer that surrounds the character model which everyone said was impossible and way too much work, but the smart people on the Paragon Studios design and programming staff figured out a way to do just that. I trust them to figure this out, as well..

well, i wouldnt be surprised if it didnt, it would involve redoing every single glove ingame for limited results, but I never say anything is entirely out, outside of things the engine just cant do like grappling or wall climbing.

Quote:anachronisms deal with things that are out of time-frame, not just a stylistic mis-match. machine guns in 300 would be an anachronism. because they didnt exist then. the wolf tails ,by your arguable premise, just looked out of place with the luminous and bio-organic stuff.Because it doesn't match anything else in that pack either stylistically or thematically, and Noble Savage said that Jay whipped it up in a few days and they stuck it into the pack. Ergo "anachronistic." If the mutant pack pieces didn't all look fishy/coral, then I wouldn't have thought anything of it. But that pack has a very cohesive design... except for the wolf tail stuck in at the last minute.

ya know star, i have learned over time that an open internet comments section invites a very specific, very coarse and reactionary type of poster, so i really tend to gloss over that sort of stuff. if you really want to hate the world, go to any major online news site with open commenting and read the comments, I take solace only in the fact that they seem so stupid and narrow minded that they wont ever do anything actively harmful because they are too small and petty to do anything.

honestly it does seem to be an issue of we can get clawed fingers when we get individual fingers, otherwise, as chase said, they would look like slaps(in retrospect, the snakes seem to use the slapping animations, rather than a splayed hands looking strike. so maybe the slaps could work, dont think that that would really satisfy people that are asking for them.) with the current hands. given how much they are asked for, i'd expect claws to happen very quickly after we get the hands options translated into having fingers.

how are wolf tails in a mutant pack anachronistic? are they really really old wolf tails, or werewolves of the future?
-
read it last night, it was a kind of a rookie mistake. ah well, it was a favorable thing overall, kind of funny that they listed coh/v as taking resources from co due to its bad launch.

" The superhero genre is remarkably broad. It incorporates science fiction, horror, fantasy, history, military, action, adventure… Even a little romance and a healthy dose of sex. We’ve told stories about alien invasions, secret societies, unrequited love, magical talismans, Orwellian dystopias, and scientific hubris. "
yep, just like seeing that affirmed by the devs. this is a broad concept hero game, not a slave to the 4 color tights and capes theme. Can we all get along now? -

Quote:it also seems to vary by times. i know i have heard times when suggestive lyrics (in the case that stood out to me rhianna's "rude boy") where it was censored during the morning commute, but was played straight when i was commuting home on the exact same station. similarly the alternate term for a female dog(which is bleeped here) was inconsistent. sometimes i'd hear one song where they let it go, and the very next song it would be altered. i was also amused that the "sublime" song "Santeria"(which discusses beating up an unfaithful girlfriend and shoving a 45 caliber handgun down her new fellow's throat) i have heard unaltered on stations that bleep mentions of firearms or violence, presumably because they didnt understand the terminology. Most of the censorship on radio is self imposed by whatever company owns the station. There's only a few things that are actually actionable by the FCC. So it's generally a case of a media company not wanting to deal with some activist group threatening their sponsors.

well, we try, i have seen some bad behavior, but overall coh is pretty good. part of it may because we are an older communtiy, and are smaller (less likely to be a target for trolls). glad to have you on board.
