which ones were poorly recieved? while ther have been the standard complaints from people whos expectations are out of line with sanity or have very specific themes in mind and disliked that, for instance, the ninja run was so conceptually linked to the anime ninja run and would not fit a military or street level hero. the only ones that had significant resistance were the emote pack and the mutant pack, the latter because of a combination of an incomplete build being on test(it lacked tails) and a expectations based on quotes from both positron and david that when looked at objectively really never promised what some people expected.

additionally, the more=better is a doomed statement becasue there will always be more that could theoretically be added, so it sets itsself up to be disappointed. a one time exception that happened as anact of accommodation(which apparently has already thrown expectations out of whack and proven yet again that no good deed goes unpunished) is not a reasonable thing to hold against all future packs, furthermore, you yourself were critical of the wolf tail for being ugly in relation to the other mutant items, so while they Can add more, those that dont carry a thematic flow with the other items can still open them up to additional criticism. in other words, damned if you do, damned if you dont, and doubly damned if you work twice as hard.

first, rockin' well-poisoning with the "childish" tag, dont ever change, ironik. second, that really is not how things work, the pack was most likely planned out with a finite set of features long before a scrap of code was written, while a longer incubation allows for more time to deal with bugs and conflicts, the release date is generally the marketing department's job and the product is very likely already finished(the release of the wolf tail in the mutant pack indicates that likely elements planned for this pack were already in development back when the mutant pack was already out), and now we are just waiting for the ncsoft go ahead. so barring another negative reaction from the forumites causing a scramble, the features that will be released for this pack are already set in stone.

now you are just milking a joke.

and i recall no cows in perez, and i spent lot of time there. there was a cow themed sg on several servers(along with the smurfs and the 6th column) but those were players and certainly un-hittable, i'd hope i'd remember a quadruped skeleton in the game.

nah, no reason, its really just a little rp exercise. so far a lot of respondents have used their item to encapsulate some element of their character's back story or motivations, thats all.
  6. I am flamboyantly gay for the new booster pack.
  7. ya know gg, i love ya like a first cousin, but you keep making these "hinting" posts , and you are either violating information that would be nda'd, or at the very least was meant to be kept in confidence or you are taking speculation and misleadingly making it look like you know something, please stop that. it needlessly makes it look like specific things are going to happen soon, when they really aren't, so far as we know.
  8. for rian, its a rosary from the church at his destroyed home village.

for seraph blue, its her daughter's teddy bear

for violet tendencies, its a single purple flower, similar to the ones that used to grew in a field by the housing project where she grew up before arachnos paved it(and that housing project) over.

each one is linked to the things that made each of them strive to be greater.

lets see, for others... dire worg got a picture of the little girl that died during his first rescue mission.
lady bizzybee got her father's old compass
amara kindwind got a key with the words "come home" on the top but no teeth on it.
space robot 5 got a piece of the meteor that initially changed him.
pax got a miniature globe depicting earth.
charlie in a box got a paper with a lullaby on it from a race that preceded humans. their children loved him as well.
weather bug got a photo of himself, and he loved it
atomic angel got a school textbook "introduction to physics"
kingsnake got a mirror with the glass crashed out.
terra romanov(my widow) got a nesting doll shaped like her family
frost-kat got the collar of her first pet cat
mahvash omidi got a tiny american flag.
persuit got the head of a saxon commander he killed centuries ago, apparently he was to be an incarnate too.
sonya radcliffe got gold coins of inestimable value
glesengel got a music box that played a haunting song of incredible antiquity
jinniya abrar got a flask of water.
oddity mchuggins got a bobblehead of the goofball that made her costume that bizarre, she punched it.

(note, none of those guys are incarnates yet, but i ran with what they would get)
  9. you know, i don't even have a cat/bull/bird/am happy with my wolf character, but the amount of stuff we already hav seen is really nice. beast run really is great, my only hope now is that we get some fish fins, that would make this a slam dunk from orbit for me.
  10. for me its more about motivations. i tend to like characters with relatively basic moral codes that go through incredible hardships but retain a rock-hard moral center though it all. from what i have seen the "iron woobie" (no, i'm not going to link to it, you're welcome) is my favorite type. it is kind of a personal thing, as well as a strong component of my coh characters.

the comic empowered hits this one hard, particularly in the issue where she is captured, but while idlely using her powers, discovered that her captor had a sudden and severe but undetected health issue, and basically went through significant effort to help a nobody despite being insulted, disrespected and humiliated all the way, that basically got me in love with the character, batman wouldn't do that, wolvie probably would have just killed him with no regard, supes might if he could spare a moment to care, that was a actual hero to me. also love nightcrawler, a ugly outsider who still finds joy and blessings in life, not a heavy hitter, but less beaten down by life than a lot of the big hitter.

many, including myself, have been asking for that for a while now. when coh launched, the outfits may have had sets, but they could be mixed and amtched. jay has kind of been a victim of his own success that his more recent sets look great together, but often transition awkwardly, so more boosters and issues that have jsut parts rather than full sets will be welcomed.

  13. well, i think this thread asks a question that may be better framed. i tend to get a bit nervous around throwing around the g term because it tends to attract significant hostility from both those who are significant fans of said specified entity or entities and those who are significant non-fans and it tneds to go sour fast. incarnates access, insofar as i understand it, not the power of sentient primal entities but rather the capacity to manipulate the creative forces of the universe themselves. i dont see why that explanation would preclude either sufficiently advanced technology or a sufficient knowledge of science to manipulate said forces, popular entertainment also is filled with examples of characters who have accessed unsurpassed powers through extreme training, particularly in the martial arts, so from that angle, i see no reason to conceptually limit incarnate powers as specifically divine.

That said, one concept i have seen floating around that seems related to the initial question is "how many people purposely try to keep their characters "street level" powerful?" lets face it, if your character was able to drop the chronos titan solo or in a small group, you aint luke cage anymore, you are darn-near doctor strange by the time you are smashing rularru aspects. A close friend of mine actually has lamented the fact that really after you get to the upper levels, you are simply presented as one seriously powerful character, way beyond what could be believably considered normal but well trained in any real sense, you take on walking tanks head-on and win. now obviously being a incredibly powerful character fits the general superhero theme, and fits a lot of our themes, but i can sympathize with someone trying to just be a tough urban hero who suddenly is clearing rooms filled with behemoth overlords, entities who by both name and appearance would be terrifying opponents for groups of highly trained and well equipped humans, and you are vaporizing them en masse, that doesnt really vibe well.
  14. ya know, i reiterate the question i asked when people went for the last trolling, why do you guys go for the bait? someone trolls, let it slide, we are getting beast run, battle won. haters will hate, 4 channers will make stupid furry comments, but they lost, let reality be your victory lap, otherwise you turn the whole thread into one big urinating contest.

see, i hated that option, because invariably i felt like everyone was sitting around staring at me because i dared what to know what the @#$%ing story was, i get enough pressure from work and family please, i dont need a bunch of speed-runner crack addicts poking me with sticks because i happen to like words.

Chinese comedies are the same, characters love to float in and out of english, particularly characters who are exemplifying american stereotypes (brash, hotheaded, and amorous).

oh, and did i just see the new tier 9 for ar blasters?
