ok just read up on it, and would happily patronize them more now that i know about the "message"

and back on topic, the whiteboard is obviously the point of the pic, the flame pattern is not new, the thigh high boots might hint at us getting the old ones back, but it does seem that care was taken to make i look muscular, so yeah, i and at least one other particularly vociferous curmudgeon will be happy if thats the news.

perhaps we could specify between single player console games and other mmos. I understand the need to keep from comparisons being made with existing competitors, particularly by players disgruntled with some decisions running down their subscriptions by being as disruptive as possible advertising the competition. but i liked being able to reminisce about classic snes games with other long-time gamers and , as my sig implies, there is a current upcoming single player rpg i'd quite like to discuss. I dont see those as directly competing with coh, and instead reinforce community and build social bonds between gamers who might then be less likely to leave for fear of losing their social circle(sounds nuts, but several have mentioned staying subbed just for the forums) so that rule i feel is a bit overreaching.

  7. i would give somebody else's right arm for a shard revamp, its a place with amazing potential and scale, but unfortunately was made back when the devs were still learning. the devs that made the...arguable...praetoria into something of real quality could make the shadow shard absolutely mind-blowing.
  8. eh, im still lt'd to that other superhero game, might play more of that, but really never meant to play an mmo this long, and would likely take a few months off the treadmills, maybe finish up some bethesda games, with modding and my desire to do everything, added to my touchy luck with computer lifespans, i have a few to finally finish. Its weird, in october when my comp went down for a week, it was kind of nice not being able to play any mmo, they are weird things, ya know?

for me it was the origin of goku's mind reading powers, its becoming my favorite running gag from the series.

is not what anyone is saying, just indication their preferences and opinions on things. people can chipmunk the tfs all they want, i just was expressing that getting on a non-chipmunk tf and having the leader decide to change it to a chipmunk one was irritating, didnt leave, finished out like a good sport, just wishing there were more non-chipmunk ones as well as the speed runs. in the end, it was my own fault, i dont like leaving tfs, so didn't want to look like i was bowing out as an elitist, but it just seems like the wst does exacerbate the issue of the majority of tfs speedrunning and leaving those of us who are more deliberate and want some shards in a lurch.

annoys me too, getting on a non speed lgtf on liberty was an issue, and then the group asks if anyone wants to make it a speed itf and you get the pressure from the rest of the group who just want to chipmunk it and be done. on the itf week i am not even doing it. dont need the stress.
  14. not a bad list. for another example of your "boost " idea for cyborg would be the character from the tekken fighting game series, alisa boskonovich, she uses a boost that is similar, i think, to what you are asking for, and does it in 3d so the look would be close to what we would see here.

pfff. power gamer (yes, if khelds didnt look cool, rian probably wouldn't have made the push either) and for gek, cool to know you are tying alt craziness, I know a lot of your thinking tends to stem from mindsets that originated in eq and older alt-unfriendly games, perhaps a good dose of alt craziness might broaden your perspective on some alternate play philosophies.

at 64 chars i consider myself a mid-range alter myself. a grand total of 3 fiddies too.

You see, I like teaming on this game. Which is odd, considering on most other games, I despise it. Anyway, as of late I am finding it increasingly hard to find a team that is:

    A) Not level 50.
    B) Not doing the WST.

My concern is that, with all the new shiny Incarnate stuff, it is overshadowing pretty much else. Or at least, I feel that way on Union (EU).

Thus, I can only solo, which I despise with a passion. Sure, I could turn the difficulty up, but somehow I don't think my level 10 Brute with 4 attacks could survive +1/4x or anything above average for that fact.

Hopefully, i'll be proven wrong. But so far, the only TF's ever run are the WST. Any mention of anything else is either ignored or suffers a lack of interest.

Whilst I can ask friends to team, it gets boring when there is only two or so people present. I like playing with a full team, and lately, the only time i've done that is on the WST with my main character.

    Any thoughts on this?
well, the full team requirement is not helping your case, i know i had some difficulty getting that regularly well before endgame or wst. honesty i have seen some very enjoyable experiences from 4-5 person teams, jsut me of course, but its a lot easier logistically. people will gravitate to the time investment that generates the most reward, so what was the itf or katie or lgtf before is now the wtf(which had a venn diagram moment this week), so unless rewards baloon for pug mission runs, i dont see that becoming the default for a lot of players. That said, i dont think that you should panic yet, a lot of this is the tension burst from people with several years of 50's getting their characters pimped out, the very rare slot isnt going to be shard cheap. I think tech had a good idea of using the global, and i think you may be overthinking it by thinking you will be seen as a moocher. if you are good on teams, id rather expect your reputation to carry over more as someone who is a well known pug member who knows his stuff and is a safe invite, kind of a pug paul giammatti.

but who knows, there are soem achievement guys who have been begging for endgame who will likely stay at that strata all the time, but i think a fair portion will eventually return to the regular game. besides lets remember that there is non-top level stuff out there, new tips(and i see a lot of pug tips running around) and the leviathan/mediporter stuff came with issue 19 as well. so at least as i read it(i could be wrong) but that endgame content will be a factor in most future releases, not the sum and total of the content.

see, i have been gaming since the 2600 days and before, and i dont see a specific stagnation thats any worse than has been around since everyone was making 2d fighters or mascot based platformers. escalating budgets may have cause the big ticket games to conform a bit more closely to certain overused tropes, but i recall the exact same issue in the 16 bit era.

well, maybe not so much hating them as doing a funny rant on their flaws, basically he takes the things that are annoying you and puts in in a way that makes you chuckle. in a recent review of a peter molyneux game he and i differed entirely as to its quality but he did crucify a part that i disliked in a wonderfully cathartic fashion for me. He would be a horrible reviewer to actually trust about game quality, he is just funny, leave it at that and his output is much better. his taste in games is quite suspect.(and, in my opinion, complete garbage)

you know, if there is one reason i despise these threads, its because people with an axe to grind will make tenuously reasoned jabs at the developers decisions as the single reason why people left, rather than realizing that change are due to a significant combination of economic factors that they cannot possibly hope to fully collate into a simple cause and effect scenario. Simply put, if you were really able to make such concrete market analysis from looking at just one single factor, economics and business in general would be a hell of a lot easier, you are guessing like anyone else, and being quite petty in how you are guessing.
