no disagreement there, i fully expect that since the incarnate stuff is to be going on for a while, it will be grafted to whatever big thing is the forefront enemy, coming storm for instance. had it come out before, it might have been related to the return of the 5th column or recluse when they were the main story thrusts, and yes, if the devs are listening at all, it will be related to rularruu.
  2. well jaz, as has been a constant over the years, i disagree with you. the warworks robots are certainly epic in scope by my definition, and while the tasks may or may not fit some definitions of epic, the enemies we fight certainly are epic in scope, furthermore, the issue has added an additional dimension to the equation, now my character is more epic, between massive debuffs, armies of robots, crazy aoe buffs and massive blasts, i think that the content as certainly had as close to an epic feel as i have seen in a non scripted event in a video game. plus we already know that in the next run of trials, we will be taking on the praetorian hamidon, a bretty large confrontation from the lore's perspective.
basically praetoria is building up to a climax, those who dislike it arent going to like it, those who do will continue to enjoy it. as per Prometheus, the coming storm is still looming, so we will likely see some new thematic direction soon, but like any comic book that is doing a continuing storyline, it takes time to finish up.
  3. rapper chammillionaire also loved when al did "white and nerdy" and put it up on his site. I'd think any musician that grew up with weird al would appreciate what him parodying you means. "the key of awesome" also has done some clever gaga parodies.
  4. i'm with bill on propel, not the best on paper, but when you put a statue into somebody's face, it just feels good.

also agreed on the snipe for radiation, snipes are also kind of underwhelming, mechanics wise, but the blast just sounds amazing.

also, crane kick is just a beautiful thing, its a standing front-leg side-kick, one of my favorite techniques in real life, and the sound makes it seem like you had a shotgun in your leg.
  5. as a mmo, city of manga.
my ideal a bethesda style open world rpg.

  7. that is my guess, im guessing the power station and hami will be in 20.5, maybe the thing to purchase with astral merits too.

you know, i wouldnt have made it a mock response, never dismiss the capacities of a well planned out secondary reinforcer to shape behavior.

its a nice gesture, but maybe relay to him that he could communicate better? its basic courtesy really.
  10. here is a thought. would it be too much of a difference for some of the alter tier judgment powers use a lightning rod-esque teleport effect for their attacks. while i cant see a way for a martial arts/sword based ranged aoe that doesnt break theme, i could see a blurring in of the character (they dont have to play it as a teleport, maybe they are just that fast) and then they throw a very fast multi-directon combo with their weapons, fists or feet. seems like the most plausible solution, but would it mechanically be too different from the current ranged judgments? i'm good with rian throwing ice, it fits his name and he is a dragon, but another martial arts strike would cause me to seriously craft both.

not what he said at all, he said that if one just says they are entering the random turnstile, and have a few friends but not a full team, and they take leadership of several teams, those friends would possibly be separated. its not about fear of inexperienced players, its fear that entering the system would separate a small group of friends who may wish to team together AND have some random ads.

nobody loves healers, people like competent buffers who can also heal. people who can play competent buffers(and debuffers) can also play competent stalkers, and would be sought for trials.
  14. qr, if you ran 10 trials on a day this nice, you are very likely alone.

serious answer, well, you likely burned yourself out, im spacing mine out to prevent this, maybe max 6 a weekend, that way it doesnt feel like a job. if you dont practice restraint, then its kind of your own fault.

tonight I didnt even do any trials, just ran with some friends, told some dumb jokes, and stomped redcaps. might run one or 2 later if i feel like it, probably wont. your favorite food would become a chore to eat if you ate it for every meal, same with game content, obsessively grinding will kill your enthusiasm, take it at a comfortable pace, dont feel like you have to keep up with the jonses.

though i gotta ask, was it with your stalker? becasue i remember a few threads(ok, more thana few..a lot more) where you said your stalker would never get teams, i noticed on liberty i have run a few successful lambdas with some stalkers, so i wondered if you noticed similar inclusiveness.

    Overpowered?

i suspect in a few weeks, rwzs are going to get a lot easier.
  16. doms are one of my favorite at's, did you notice that when you pop domination, it protects you from holds/stuns? didnt do that before, but now that it does, its niice. actually doms were a at that really took a few tweaks to get right, i enjoyed them from the launch of cov, but they had limits. these days they do more damage, dom up faster and have mez protection, they are fun. my main one is a plant thorn, but i also have a earth/earth, an ice/ ice, an elc/elec, and a grav/elec,the last one due to a dare.

Okay for you tl;dr people, listen up --

It's not whether your incarnate powers help your character. It's whether you are made obsolete by the powers on the rest of your team. All ATs can now buff, rez, and nuke. Is that healthy for the game?
only if they do it as well, a few buffs arent going to nullify the force mutliplier effects of a defender, nor are judgment shots going to remove blasters. people generally didnt recruit buffers on the premise that they would be there to rez, they looked for the ability to contribute multiple buffs, i dont think that will change, a def or well slotted troller will still be in demand, just like a nasty blaster will for sustained artillery.

my main is a ma scrapper, until the natural booster, issue 4 was the best issue to happen to me, costume wise. issue 17 completed it by finally letting me use tails with robes, but people keep slapping issue 4, but if you like more (admittedly vaguely)Asian themed looks for your character, it was pretty good.

I gotta say I'm very much in your position. I agree, the trials are fun. Visually great, not a huge time commitment, and have a high-stakes, large-scale feel to them. But, like you, I am not sure if I am going to want grind them to death to get the components I need.
heh someone leveled to the new level cap on the day the gorilla's litch king expansion came out, crazy people will do crazy things, you wont stop them. its the luxury that the semi-sane have(a group i only might belong to) that in taking our time, the points you made about the time investment, progression no matter what, and visuals will be nice when i mosey over to getting some.
  22. well sam, heres an idea, super-sam has a huper powered brain, well, technically you could stretch science a bit and go with ion judgement and rationalize it as him brain being able to generate powerful synaptic electricity(the little zaps that travel down the axons in your brain cells) that he can then expel as a weapon.

as for Ezekiel, stone/stone, id actually think, barring waiting for a stone judgement, fire for his ability to generate powerful geothermal energy.

now for the discussion, good question, rian is a marital artist, but hes also a dragon, ..named frostdrake, so not a huge amount of thought on that one. but i can see your point quite well. ya know, one thing i was speculating long ago would be some sort of customizable weapon, like thors hammer, that would open to us, maybe a pistol that just does crazy hand cannon style aoe blasts wouldn't be out of the question, and it would work well for your concept, better than my brain chemistry bodge . i always balk at adding too much dbz style blasts to marital arts, thats one style of martial arts films, but not the only, or even main one. and going with a fancy shuriken limits us to looking too close to the pool powers(and cuts out practitioners of non-japanese styles, thematically) so yeah, really the issue is that non-elemental covers a lot of things, swords dont specifically mean medieval or samurai movie, and with the variety of weapons customization, you can run from tech to naturalistic to fantasy. best i can say is the pistol(add some high tech looking options too) would be a start, maybe when we are working on the customizations later on we could go a bit further with alternate animations that would include a more techie heads up display and orbital blast, or a magic glyph(maybe rune of warding, nudge nudge) as the animation, and then while they still are technically elemental, you would have more thematic breadth

  24. people quit the game over any number of reasons, rational or not. furthermore there are people coming back because they have felt that coh finally got something integral to their mmo experience, endgame. so its not that cut and dried, and again, try other game's endgame before you call this a grindfest, i have a boss on ffXI that took several hours for a optimally armed team to take down, and there was a percentage chance of him dropping something good.
