Quote:spiffy, i'm not done torturing that young man yet with my incessant suggestions.Yep, he is still on board, and working hard it seems.
He showed up (lol) at the Ustream live chat so... He is still with us.
Devs said months ago he was overwhelmed with work, but the Steampunk is all made by Cheryl and her team, and Animal pack heads were made also for another art dev...
So I dont have a clue of what could be Sexy Jay working on...
Backpacks? Also for weapons so we can actually wear things like quivers for archers?
Upgrading the old low-res pieces?
Animated hair?
Time will tell... But for now, gimmie Steampunk pack! -
ya know, random question just because i haven't seen anything from him in a long while, but jay's still here, right? last i saw of him was during the babs firing thing.
-
i am quite pleased, that answered a lot of questions. very well done.

kids, the elderly, the infirm and pets are a good start, basically anything that is callously cruel to the helpless as well as evil, that loosens up my heroes from "superman" to "Saw". also betrayal and manipulation. the "best" evils i have seen have been by those who have gotten people to trust them and then set them up to be harmed for their benefit. pretty much my definition of a villain.

well, sam, maybe david's busy. hope hope
and on to the pontificate divergance, its more that words drift in meaning over time in colloquial usage. as a non-native speaker its not surprising that the softened usage hasnt moved over yet, but its really more a term for when anyone gets on a soap box.
does anyone still use soap boxes? most workers when i was in grocery used dairy crates -
as for neil. i love almost all of his work, check his short story collections. smoke and mirrors and fragile things. also he did a collaboration with the final fantasy artist, yoshitaka amano called sandman: book of dreams, a nice mix of a Japanese story and neail's sandman universe. really amazing art as well.
also supporting coraline and graveyard book, they are technically "childrens books" but neil goes for the oldschool childrens story mindset of making them sufficiently forboding and dark. one other thing that i found worth reading was a collection of short stories inspired by the sandman mythos called. " The sandman:book of dreams" (yeah, i know, original naming there guys)which is very well written and MAY have been responsible for the retconning of a joke character of mine into one of my favorite bios in game. -
for me it is totally the customization. I dont like mmos much and the game play of even the best mmo is, in my not even remotely humble opinion, lacking. coh gives me the ability to craft the look i want regardless of practical applications. (tanker in jeans, check, glass cannon in 3 layers of armor, check) and furthermore, to go with synths point a bit more, its more than just a catch as catch can mix of fantasy and sci-fi, though it has those, its one of the few western games to have a well integrated eastern flare too, katana scrapper, the tsoo, those really cool ancestor spirits, kinetic melee, martial arts scrappers, it aint perfect, and i nag for more eastern things every time i get the option, but the mixture of so many different sub-genres kind of makes coh the open source mmo, make a dwarf with an axe or make a cyborg with a laser gun and robots (or vice versa) and throw em all in samurai armor, its all good.
as i only half jokingly say, gimmie a game where i can play a blue martial-artist dragon, and ill be there till the servers go dark, well this game lets me do that, and slap him in samurai armor. -
QR. I was unaware that we had teamed, but thanks.

Quote:there are things in personal communication on the internet that baffles me, this is one. perhaps my argument would be more persuasive if i were passive aggressive and nasty. Is there a guide somewhere on "How to make sure your suggestions don't get implemented"? Because this really ought to be added to it.
I'd put it right after the entry on, "Suggest how an event should run after it has already started."
In terms of framing this, OP, perhaps a better tactic would have been, "I've looked at the Praetorian invasion information, and thought this idea might be interesting to consider for future invasion scenarios". That might be a little better-received. -
meanwhile, i sit in pennsylvania and fume. at lest we have five guys and red robin.

logged in to the servers..and am totally stuck for ideas, will have to wait to see if we get some proliferation in issue 21 for the trip. save me some bangers and mash.

Quote:it really isnt going to end. for one thing, an mmo makes money by keeping people invested for the long term. while the old way of just roll an alt, and another and another, worked for some, it also burned a lot of people out and we saw significant drop offs from the 2 big introductory phases. issue 1 and issue 6. a lot of people apparently like having their concepts that they have invested significant time on continue advancing. and by comparison, the end game here is barely a blip compared to the other bigger mmos on the market in terms of time commitment or requirement to do content. we have no gear scores, and im cool with that. One thing which concerns me is that the developers seem to have made it an objective to keep people perpetually and constantly interested in end game. So even when the current "stuff" grows old and stale, they'll be trying to add more. More raids, more powers, more unlocks and so forth.
I'm not sure the current over-interest in end game will ever end, or at the very least will end any time soon. And I'm not sure it's intended to.
end game also existed long before incarnates were a defined concept, first they were hami-os, then they were the good recipies(usually the named ones),then then they were purples, maybe pvp ios too, they were insanely expensive for a while, havent looked recently. and there always has been a "tilt" to some content over others. katie hannon had her day in the sun, the cap sf was popular, and the itf was and still is kind of a darling of the masses due to its speed and dense enemy groups. but long long ago it was a lot easier to get a itf running than eden trial(especially after they fixed the exploit), people just gravitate towards things that require less investment for greater reward.
really outside of just after launch with perez hunting, i dont ever remember a time that one could just get a group together very quickly just by broadcastin., but on the same token, i also dont remember a time that it has been easier to find a group, thanks to the functionality of the global channels. -
Quote:in other words, posi already has been working on this threadSee I wasn't sure whether it was a joke or not because most the time it does seem that there's always two doors that never get acid grenaded.
If his comment was a joke then I am the one who is joke impaired.and yeah, it was unquestionably a joke, ran a few lambdas with lb, and all doors went down instantly.

some of those were posted a long time ago, they had little bio things too. the mask guy's story was kind of cool, and the one woman is a korean music star. i do like how much coh is represented
as a habitual brain picker, how people represent themselves when given a blank slate to do so always interest me, and when given a system with comparably fewer restrictions some people do some very interesting things to improve or alter the reality.

you missed an important one "23 of 24 are ready" means 24, tab out and watch some funny kitten vids on youtube.

eh let it slide, there were constructive answers, focus on them.

have you joined the main global channel? i'm not familiar with infinity, but if you head to the subforum, there should be threads that tell you what the most active globals are. they tend to not only be good for teaming, but good for reliable, competent teaming. one warning is that right now a lot of people who had a backlog of 50s is probably running trials, so you may initially find a lot of people occupied there. if you have a 50, that may be an option to look into.

Quote:one thing to point out to clarify though, the "skins" arent as impressive as they sound, they are cloth, leather and metallic(plus oily options+those options). they do not allow such things as using the various tattoo options or the animalistic skins with the tights top patterns. those are still fixed.7 years on, it's got to the point where characters are recognisably dated compared to newer games:
Champions, which is terrible except for the character editor, which has a LOT less options available than Cityof, but is awesomely well done, especially the body sliders which allow much more variance than Cityof. Also being able to choose 'skins' of outfits is brilliant and should be an option on every Cityof piece ( for example the Metallic skin in Champions looks badass and doubles up for cool looking shiny clothes in the style of http://tinyurl.com/covtexture )
for mixing specific unusual skin textures, you are forced to use second layer options, like chest pieces and shirts, just like in coh. so really the main difference is largely a lighting, reflection issue, not a massive qualitative difference. he gave an expectation of an issue? i missed that, i recall david saying it would be allowed for players eventually, but never a prediction of which issue, and especially i19 we were specifically told they would NOT be available to players within a few days of a idf pic being shown. -
thanks, hope you have fun
and good eye, the third costume was kind of her "power armor" ideally for fighting rikti or higher threat levels, shes kind of evolving character. figured the spike belts kept the bee motif.
gotta say, strong showing all around, i see some great combos here that i didnt even think of, for other themes. -
honestly channels are made by the common agreement of the main users, so really the moderation is whatever the channel wants it to be, if its not disruptive enough to cause the majority of users to leave, then it must be in-line with what people want, so i wouldn't see the problem. the moderation is what the community will allow, if you dont want it and cannot find a groundswell of support to change the rules, then it may not be the channel for you.

this is awesome. and as mentioned, it advances a technology that has a myraid of practical applications, and it looks fun.
