  2. really i wouldn't put anything absolutely off or on the table. basically i know we will be paying for some subset of many things. if it gets overbearing and included vip things become scarce, then i'll be annoyed, but any specific item/concept as yea or nay, id prefer to work on a case-by-case basis.
  3. i dunno, saying that its a fun community to integrate into might work for some non-gamers, how many non gamer friends of mine are addicted to farmville? thats mostly community(sending stuff to friends looking at each other's farm). dunno. As for me, id say to a gamer or non gamer(and have) that the game lives on its customization. you can make a wide variety of looks and enjoy yourself.

yep, it doesnt get old. finding a new player is usually a recipe for a fun night, all the old stuff you don't even see anymore comes back and starts looking new through their questions.

I know that I'll probably want costumes #6-10 on more characters down the line eventually.
indeed, its a value thing. i only have maybe 5 real costume horse characters out of 60 or so, but if inspiration should strike me, it is very encouraging that they are there and convenient. it was the only thing holding my enthusiasm back initially, but now i can really cut loose. and yes, on launch i shall have all the costume slots i can.
  6. ok costume slots are global, time to get spendy
  7. for me the big ones are not some of the more side characters.
mirror spirit, i love her look, the unique top, hair accessory and even leg detail mark her as unique

flower knight. love the emblem on the back of her robe, makes her outfit look more like an authentic martial arts outfit.

maelstrom- his outfit looks like a cool modern super heroic look. it has some tights elements but enough armor to give it a distinctive silhouette and give him a more believable look as someone who could fight in a real-ish world setting. plus his outfit, while staying true to a western comic look, does have some elements that would not be out of place in a manga, so kudos from me for that

mako- love the fins and the teeth, not a subtle character but he doesnt have to be, he has one theme, a predator, and everything about him reaffirms that.

belladonna vertano. the hair, the armor, the glow guns, she just looks awesome. love just about everything about her look.

praetorian vanessa devore. so many things right, the beautiful cameo locket on her waist sash, the fine detailing of most parts of her costume, she is just designed to look like an aristocratic hero who has an air of supernatural authority.

honorable mention goes to the higher level ppd hardsuit tree characters. those cool helmets with the single eyes remind me of the "invid" from robotech and they just have a really cool power-suit. love the boss class robots as well.

not a bad idea, but i , in the past, suggested a mroe proactive path. rathr than a single missions, a hero/vig could become an antagonist of one of the patrons. a series of a few arcs where you becoem interested in taking one of recluses lieuts down by repetedly foiling one of his henchies plans. to me that just makes it seem more fun, to keep robbing bs's tech or saving planned assasination victims of mako. since they draw their power from external sources, it doesnt conflict too badly with canon, you are just power-blocking them.
  9. loved the flash, appreciated martian maneater, power guy needed more bulk. but overall pretty good.

i cant help but notice you are ignoring responses that deal with the correctly prescribed remedies and only fixating on an ancillary part of the discussion.

gyah!, "men" do not support this behavior. a few ill-bred yutzes do, petition them into the stone ages and rid the community of that type. men do not support harassing behavior and do not win when such happens, we lose.

i fully wish to subscribe to your newsletter. Just make them grey out problematic powers, a naga archer or centaur would be great.

ok, link it or please stop it. womans intuition dont fly and if it was said in confidence, as i strongly infer it was, you shouldnt be saying it out of respect for that confidence. but given posi's past ustream comment about needing new animation rigs for dinosaurs and your strongly hinting of a 4 leg rig, implying you were told or hinted something at sdcc, you are getting my hopes WAY up a bit early.

oh and as for the poor neglected op, id prefer they use single player models for everything. its a bit more work at the start, but it allows for a lot more flexibility with costumes that then can be given to the players.

    Rocket Boards?

ok well, the staff hasnt officially been revealed, though it has been pretty thoroughly unofficially reveled. Since you are just easing back into the info, heres some other news, 2 other powersets, a heavily single target ranged blast set with a laser rifle and a "street vengeance" set that is the much requested street brawling set. street vengeance also introduces a new "combo" mechanic. both will be purchasable sets, 800 pts(10 bucks usd) currently though as per posi, those prices are still in beta. now, don't you feel better ?
  18. eh i can see the reasoning behind this, but i disagree strongly. there are and will always be a vocal contrarian element on the forums and attempting to design by committee here would be a ripe target to stonewall any and all creativity. this change was poorly received, it is fairly unique in that it has been so strongly(but not universally) disliked, most other cases you invite factionalism and malcontents to stifle the game. vehemently unsigned.
  19. i was pretty happy with the fast turnaround on this myself, 2 of my main incarnate characters used the corset with some form of tights, and it looked very bad. the ixp fix was just icing on the top really.
  20. lots of interesting news, i know there was a sizeable number of posters that wanted older stuff updated, glad its starting..now..lets all start chanting SHADOW SHARD really really loudly.
  21. as for the topic at hand. well, i can see why some are balking at it, but 10 bucks does seem fair to me. i maintain that we really will not be able to judge how comparable the amount of content after freedom with additional transactions stacks up with the amount of content we had before freedom with only subs, expansions and the occasional booster. i arbitrarily set the time to tell at 6 months, but i'm suspecting that the difference will be apparent pretty fast, and we will merely be judging pace and consistency.

while smersh is being, well smersh, his point is true. "common sense" of a laymen who doesnt work in the industry really is unable to account for the realities of how video games are made or what resources are required. he could have put it in a more civilized fashion, but you really dont know the processes as well as arcanavill(who has worked in the industry) and that really compromises your ability to make a cogent point. games are really really expensive to make, this is a constant you find going through several developers blogs, and thats the stuff they can share, "common sense" has nothing to do with an intricate and technical industry.

actually, as a frequent player of japanese games, this has happened for me several times, its unfortunate, but i understand the reality of the situation and the game simply came out there first.
