i have some interest, it did annoy me a bit with the standard weapon selections, i understand axes, swords and maces can share animations so thats why companies love to have them be the melee weapons characters can use, but the lack of fist based weapons and pole-arms (on land) kind of irks me. hire another damn animator. beyond that the ocean stuff sounds like it has the potential to be very interesting, particularly with the entirely separate weapon classes including my beloved spears. and the races each intrigue me, so i'll probably give it a shot as a side game.
one thing i'll miss from the first is the fast time to level cap, it diminished the importance of level grinding and placed more emphasis on smart deck building of skills. now it seems like its going to be more focused on the level treadmill. -
Find a single post where she calls a single REAL person a pervert. you overreact, a lot, its your thing, but taking her comments about general comic book villainy(which is, i remind you PRETEND) as indicators of her judging you personally is just indicative of an complete and utter loss of rational perspective. you have made comments where you have suggested she, not a comic book character or an abstract concept as a superhero, is of limited intelligence or bigoted. do you see the concept between making an in character comment about a pretend concept and making a direct personal attack. and people like tech, schis and others go further. quit pretending you are a victim here.

you misunderstand. his point was that the positron, upon our original reaction to the first look were surprised and said that when david originally showed them the tights and spikes look of the initial revamp, they all liked it. that was part of why they were soemwat surprised with the almost uniform dislike that they got on the forums(cavaets, a few people liked them, and there probably was some snowballing mob mentality eventually, but they did look silly to me.) the initial revamp, with tights was mostly disliked on the forums. the new look is kind of a mixed bag for me. they do look a little bright and detailed for low level mobs, but its got some charms to me and i have at least 4 costume revamps waiting for those forecloth/armored sides combos that david said we are getting a form of in the all things art thread. so ill adapt to the look if it means i get it for myself.

yeah, rick is pretty adamant about being gone, i strongly suspect we wouldn't see him till his kids are out of the house, he seemed happy spending time with his kids. cant say i blame him if he can pull it off.

i will be surprised if we dont hear a release window. not a date, dates are bad and summon giant evil programming bugs(or at least that's what my relationship counselor says..i think she might be on hallucinogens though), but a window.

it stats at 1130, Seattle time, so about 3 hours, plus whoever hears it will have to put it together into a readable bit of bites, so i expect probably info will start coming in 3-4 hours.
oh and johnny, pet peeve of mine, elicit, they aren't criminals. -
we have apparently teamed.

actually, i agree, maybe even make these special case areas where only relevant powers would be non-grayed out. its fun on the chalet and it was a blast on guild wars with the beetle racing.it could also keep an eye to make sure you dont go out of the allowable course lines.

when there's rian frostdrake on your team, you get to spend 15 minutes on wikipedia looking up all his stupid references.

grappling and throwing enemies, and weaponizing of the environment. correctly, a light post should be used like bat, cars should be military pressed and slammed front first, a tank should have its barrel ripped off and swat like a flyswatter. also the ability to do distance closing lunge attacks and pull in attacks.
climbing on walls.
visual variety for device based powers should have selectible varieties for broad thematic variations, like magical, high tech and biorganic.
lots of alternate animations, its one of our strong unique points, emphasizing it seems intuitive.
be quite clear that you are including manga influences into the game so people don't constantly question inclusions of manga influences with "but this is just a silver age game and should just be about silver age stuff(mini rant)"
actually include manga influences. more ninja, more mechs, more kanji, more yokai, more martial arts clothes and styles, more Asian themes. we're getting there, but its been a long haul. -
working. thinking about how to sneak good music onto my co-workers mp3 player with speakers.

i need to get better with kelds. they can be played well, but i still need to get the knack. also masterminds. i get by, but not to the level of invulnerability i hear people go on about.

Ma/scrapper. before buying he game i had to make sure it had a MA class.

like i just said, lead one and tell us how easy it is. otherwise your perspective lacks the experience to have a valid point. theres a guy who never played baseball who can tell me the pirates stink, and theres a guy who played pro for a few years and can give me real granular details of what they are doing wrong and what they could do to improve. guess who isn't wasting my time.

it is fun, what would get it run more is for baf to be les zerg-able, until people cant get the rewards by doing the path of least resistance, a vocal portion wont do it because they want the easiest way.

lets just say, i tried my hand at leading a league this weekend, the other members helped a lot with their patience, but particularly in the set-up stage, things get a great deal more hectic than you would think. people are switching and you dont want to leave them behind, you dont know if the new person sending you a tell is that person back again or someone else , the bars look pretty similar between 7 and 8 members at a glance and once you establish that you are leading, you get absolutely swamped with more requests than you can take, including pairs of people who you dont want to upset by splitting. like i said, the people on lib were patient, good humored and everything went off well, but a non-patient crowd that likes to make personal insult threads on the forums, i can see why people would say screw it. ,so maybe these new leaders, particularly ones that havent dont it often, could get some slack. People that put themselves out there to lead these things basically set themselves up to be sniped, one starred about and treated badly by people who will never themselves take the responsibility. I really do have to agree with lemur that if you think leaders are so bad, lead a few and tell us how easy it is.

sam, you know how you dont like it when people circumvent the forum rules to take personal shots at you? look the resistance was originally set up as the ambiguous good guys of gr. they also wanted to show that there were shades of overlap between the two, thats why the resistance has crusaders and loyalists have the responsability path. both do some things that are good and some that are reprehensable. but given what the ingame setup was, yes cole was set up to be bad and those opposing him were the less bad that were working with the earth's heroes. if i recall, player feedback influenced the decisions to have those 2 extra branches, and it was originally to be just loyalist and resistance, likely war dog would not have been there had the extra layers not come in to add the "bad" good guys.

in western pa we had small rumblings..frankly i thought my dog was just shaking the floor with its feet. hope those that got the full effect stay safe.

honestly i see villains as disgusting, or at least focusing on their character flaw, even in their victories.
as for player villains, well i tend to play characters that have one foot in being good but are defined by their character flaw, closer to catwoman than the joker. they don't actively want to harm anyone, but they want what others have, so sometimes someone is going to get non-lethally hurt.
the thing for me was that in light of cov, i didnt really want to play a villain, bu t that was where the content was, so i made the least evil villain possible and ran with it. on both consoles and here i have tried various games that make me a villain, and it aint happening. a sympathetic villain will still be unsympathetic to me because of their character flaw, and the more a author tries to force me to like them(usually as some form of imbedded philosophical commentary of their own) the more their flaw sticks out. as such i tend to be amazed by people who find villains interesting, i cant. no matter how petty or charismatic they are, i see them as pathogens, viruses, nothing more. its cool if people can let that go and make a villain they like, but for me making any villain is simply a reaction to the change in the game's content that i was challenged to adapt to by making a villain that i could tolerate, so i figured a thief was the least reprehensible path to take. -
I loved gauntlet, loved the first reboot where with dark legacy and legends. but seven sorrows(the horrid second reboot) really hurt the series. but the arcade gaem and particularly gauntlet 2, where you could have multiple versions of the same character really helped. my regular group had 2 of us fighting to be wizard.

Quote:hmm i never used the cape trick, but strider was one reason i stared using it.I discovered a few years ago, while futzing around with the costume tool in an idle moment, that if you combine Reaper with the single-shoulder cape set to Tattered 2, with all the colors matched, you replicate the Strider Hiryu super ninja-scarf-mask effect startlingly well.

s'all good, kinda figured but it couldn't hurt to say.

unlikely, one of the problems with mmos is that big time surprise moments like the trailer was entirely comprised of wont happen in game. players will get used to what not to touch, or when to safely touch things, and since mmos tend towards being things play for hundreds of hours, realistic expectations dictate that soon it will be reduced to the same repetition and standardization that happens in mmos. its hard to avoid , you just cant make novelty in a 400 hour experience without major compromises.
