  1. I am psyched for it, any eastern-themed costumes are welcome additions to the game, and i'm glad for what i get. Not crazy about the sword, but we have a dao and jian in the natural pack, so its all good. In another thread, it was hoped that staff melee would also have a guan-do(chinese glaive) that would really look great with this pack, hope it gets in. now for a cheongsam and kimono
  2. healing aura. walk into a hospital ward. boom, walk out of a room full of healthy people in need of more fashionable clothes. and, it affects me too, so my life is better too.
if full set, empathy would make a big difference, dont ya think?

yeah, especially ivy, she recounts how many people she saved since you set her up to be a protector bot. its in the high thousands, i think.
  4. Zwill, thanks for your responses, and rest assured, i know you guys respond to feedback, and have defended paragon often in the past(been called a kiss up by professional malcontents ) but Can you answer me one question, have you ever received a post asking for grab bags, Did somebody ask for them? I have never seen one, but I'm not everywhere. And finally, do grab bags get the company a significantly higher profit than buying costume sets?

the basis for those questions is just that here and in a similarly themed game, grab bags have been received in an overwhelmingly negative sense, I just cant see anyone actually wanting them, and just a few accepting them. Now i realized from a business standpoint that they give repeating revenue, but are they that much more profitable than costume sets on the market, I understand that paragon requires a steady stream of income, its why i have bought almost every costume part offered. but are costume sets as they are on the market just not bringing in the cash and we needed this? I want the game to stay profitable because thats how we get new things and talented people, so is it really a situation where we needed them? Anyway, the die is cast, and we will deal with the results, I want paragon to stay healthy, and am glad to do my part, but I completely hate this and it feels forced on us against strenuous opposition.
  5. What side do you pick more than others?
hero or rogue, never enjoyed playing a villain. here or in any of the many good/evil console games. If i want to see evil win, i'll watch the news.

What play style do you prefer?
scrapper, brute, night widow, and dom for crazy front line fighting. I love being in the thick of it smashing people left and right. Also enjoy playing defenders and controllers to be a force multiplier.

What power set(s) do you favor?
martial arts, kinetic melee, and street justice.

What zones do you like the most?
    croatoa
Do you usually play as a male or female characters?
70/30 female/male. usually I only make male characters as movers for purposely general concept, like a generic knight, or werewolf, robot or ninja. otherwise, almost every idea is cooler with a female than a male. With the science pack, there is even a female alt-dimension looks of my male chars.

    Views on Role Playing?
Its cool, but seems like a lot of work, I'll leave it to the pros.

    Servers?
liberty , with some dabbling with virtue, exalted, and protector. mostly liberty though.
  6. well, to filter in, overall a cute ustream damaged by the distressing news about the superpacks. I am holding out hope for the "at launch" qualifier as meaning they eventually will sell them. As it stands, I will not purchase or redeem any vet tokens for them. I, if, in the future, i can get the costume parts in a manner that does not involve luck, then i will purchase them, and might even by a pack or two as a good will offering, but There is only one way to make a point, and that is to be consistent. and only one type of vote really counts.
  7. actually, at present, people seem a bit happier with issue 22, seems to hit a good number of people(though obviously not everyone)'s wish lists. There has been an undercurrent of negativity as long as the forum existed, and it rises and falls. i find happiness is a full ignore list. and staying away from the forums, outside of a quick sewage dive for pertinent info, is a good way to not have the light stolen from your eyes.

sorry, want trying to correct you, just adding my own personal crusade.

well, one of two things, no skirts beneth the knees either, unless they are split and attached to the legs, like the steampunk set.

  11. Well, on the practical level, I"m looking forward to another hero merit. I'm also looking forward to seeing where they are going with it. States himself...really hasn't been a major factor in the ingame universe. books and comics, sure, but igame, i rescued him once, and i talked to him while kicking recluses butt, but the game casts me as the hero, i stopped the rikti commander, i stomped nem a few times, I fought the praetorians with a bunch of other heroes, ditto with imperious, rularru in the cathedral and the other major tf guys. Heck, the loss of a big lb'er s character would affect me ingame more than any tf dispenser. on one hand, its cool, rian frostdrake is a hero, and his "supergroup" is liberty server , but it did miss out on oppertunities to characterize the original npcs as well. I care about tunnel rat more than i do the phalanx.
  12. yo dawg.

I think she meant having an electric guitar as an axe. people sometimes call an electric guitar an axe(or at least they did in the 80's, no idea what you crazy kids call em)
  13. the pic is great, but am i crazy, or does he kind of have skinny legs for a guy who is supposed to have a muscular build? Might be the perspective, but they just look like they were more muscular in other pics.

I just want to give this joke the respect it deserves. I have made similar ones in real life, and im unsure whether my friends dont follow bsg or mining techniques..but it never gets anything.

For me, its a semantic thing, but i HATE using the way the term "gods" has become abused and degraded in contemporary mythos. In coh we are in contact with an using the constituent power of a primal force, we are superheros that found the power cosmic, the "truth" from fullmetal alchemist(and yes, this is kinda God-ish, but its still just function and technique, not consubstantiation), the speed-force, whatever. bringing other things into it limits it conceptually and it drives me nuts. we aint divine, we just got a little stronger using powerful forces of the world.

opinion, natch. but if you mention it on a tf or trial with me i will crawl through the internet and bite you on the ankle.

you know, dont want to come across as attacking you, but its kind of a thing with any thread market related, you seem to always have a problem with it, It is kind of a question at this point what they are allowed to actually use to raise money at this point that wont have you angry. Its seems like you just dislike the market and anything at all that they try to do, no matter how reasonable, it is always a gross abuse and UNACCEPTABLE, with some cheeky link to an actual abusive business practice.

Only if it provokes such. I think most of us have come to realize that paragon has to pay their employees something and that freedom existed in the first place as a way to get additional money into the game so that they can get us more content(which has happened thus far, lot more costume, powersets and new zones than in the past) so monetizing a process that I can still do at no cost whatsoever, not even an issue. that is the kind of thing that im glad they monetized, rather than the gamble packs. I would argue instead that the only way this "naked profiteering" would engender cynicism is if one was already cynical about freedom and merely looking at excuses to throw another fit.
  17. hey, i bet all those who want more "superhero stuff" will be happy now, not only do we get the more classic tights looking Olympian guard costume set, but its even free for vips, good news for all.

also, squid, i share your love of creepy bug monsters, this takes a lot of what i like about the shadow shard and puts it there, now to see what the redesigned tsoo look like, thats my big thing here.

oh , and summoning wolves, now i'm really on board, likely making a dark/dark troller and a dark/dark dom, all 3 sets sound intriguing.

oh, and call Samus Aran... stat.

i'm holding out hope for the staff melee set. it would technically have a blade so we get into a big fuss over smashing/lethal, but frankly scarlett, i dont give a darn.

and as per z, boo on it not being out by cny, but beta will be ok, can live with that.

  20. Chinese dynasty warriors-style costume sets, I approve in an aggressive fashion. but dave...thats still not a cheongsam, c'mon man, please, i gave you a bunch of reference pics even!

also, can we squeeze any new claw patterns in at some point, the sword thing is kind of becoming a thing at this point.

beyond those quibbles, love both sets and will buy.
  21. yep, rian frostdrake is and will be my main (ma/sr scrapper) here and on another superhero game, my main badger, the first through heroic content, first to incarnate content, and my borderline mary sue, but with scales, a tail and massive dragon wings. he was the first character i made, though due to a silly big, i had to reroll him with a slightly different facial marking and set of horns after he got stuck in some bug and wouldnt load my sub main is even the same as in the beginning, seraph blue (empathy/electric defender) will always be my second and my main villain..well, she isnt a villain any more, her bio always pegged her as a catwoman'ish thief with a heart of gold so rogues fit too well, but violet tendencies (plant/thorn dominator) is always my main red...even if she mostly plays blue now. i thnk between those 3 I have a fairly broad feel for the varieties of the gameplay styles, be it a direct damage, a crowd control ranged damage, or a team oriented protector, so they are my mains. they have my favorite bios, they have my favorite costumes, and they have enormous segments of my life invested in them.
  22. Ya know, you say that the developers don't tell us whats on board next. that is a claim that i find patently false, the don't give dates to things, but given how dates slip and users are not always a forgiving lot, I feel that the general time-frames keep us about as in the know as i was on the other mmos i have played. I would also add that I have played a quite a few mmos(its funny, i hate the genre, but its kinda what pc gaming is increasingly about... when in rome) , and i do see a great deal more direct discussion here between players and developers. Babs and castle werevery good for discussion, David has directly asked me, individually about things i asked for while posting on the weekend, didnt see that in swg, didnt see that in ff XI, nor pso nor any of the many games i have tried (will give props to tumerboy over on the competition online, he does the legacy of babs and such proud). paragon is in the interesting position of being just big enough to actually be able to respond to us, within reason, and small enough to be able to care without having to poll massive numbers of people and moving large, difficult to alter schedules. so as for your first point, I simply do not see it, we get state of the games, we get q&a sessions(which can be limited in info, but sometimes you have to ask the right question to get the right answer.), we get producers letters, and we get the ustreams which often are significantly informative. I know everyone is nuts over glow-stick wow, and maybe they have all this interaction too, but we are still getting it 7 years on, this isnt a 3 month fling, its a marriage.
  23. I have recently had an issue with crashing, once a night, for about 2 weeks. prior to that, never had any technical issues beyond what could be expected.i expect some lag on a full-league rikti mothership raid, for instance, or an itf with multiple mm's, that's just simply being reasonable. but normal lag, not since i got my new comp 2 years ago.

  25. I am biased, since i prefer magical settings and enemies, cro is definitely among my favorites, the level range is a bit crowded, so i have missed it a few times, but generally enjoy running it..though the redcaps do require a certain level of masochism to enjoy, i love their theme and concept. also, while i do think the hami seed is the new best giant monster, eochai and jack were always 2 dependable enemies for me to fight. and sally is a giant reptile/sorta dinosaur, so of course much love there.
