sashes definitely would be nice, and has been asked for for a long time. That said, I have faith it will happen, they found space in the production schedule for porting the jackets to women, sashes, as well as masks, mask details and night widow waist capes would be next on her list.
one thing, is the hang down absolutely needed? because the cot belt is pretty close to a sash, just without the loose cloth at the end. -

I'm just wondering what illustrious position someone with his spelling and grammar held in the first place.

Our prayers are with you, i know I lost my grandmother, with whom i was very close, 3 years a go, and its something you just have to take your time with. we all have your back.

ditto, I find the man to be basically tom green with a bigger budget and a smaller comedic range.

another for mirror spirit. also praetorian aurora borealis(who most are going to call mother mayhem/tillman, but thats just a mind parasite, the body is aurora)
also, best personality nod goes to tunnel rat.
finally, dangett, IVY is cute. yes shes a robot with blades on her arms, but the coloration variance and hairstyle work.
EDIT: you know, penny looks good too, but since we first met her when she was so young, and looked much younger, it feels creepy to view her now in that way. -
I'm acually surprised nobody went for Jim temblor.
EDIT: sorry oath, for some reason i missed an entire page of posts, my fault there. -

while it would be likely time prohibitive to write stories with a lot of different branches, I would like missions to go on different tracks if certain objectives werent met, yeah.

you know, after she called the 4 legged rig thing, i have begun to pay more attention to her. from what i understand she hits the big developer fan meetups often and has mentioned hearing devs talking ingame with info, so while she cant outright say things, I do sometimes think there may be wisdom in noting if she seems really sure of something. It may not be unreasonable to think that with her general omnipresence in the game and community, she might have some ears that less involved members may not have. also, april is really pretty far off, so I'd be far more surprised if it actually was that long.

for a general answer, i keep coming back for customization, no other mmo on the market does it as well, and most mmos barely do it at all. I play other games across the pc, console and handheld spectrum but coh offers something unique .
plus, since with the decline of japanese developers and western developers allergy to martial arts based heroes, coh does allow me to use a character i want, It is bizarre to me, but almost no recent major game release in the action rpg genre has let me play a character who is primarily an unarmed martial artist, and this is in the midst of the @##$ing mma craze.(last one was the spy one by obsidian, and that was nearly 3 years ago)
as for the missions being similar with blocks of text..well, thats kinda gaming. I'm playing a single player rpg right now where i have tons and tons of sidequests, And i love em, but you quickly see the strings behind the show, the missions are 1. go here and talk to this guy or get this item. 2. kill 10 (in this case, spiders, boggarts, faer gorta or the like) 3. get 10 rat tails 4. kill Micky, the specific rat 5. fight through a kind of linear area till you get a boss and info-dump. and dats pretty much what you see in a lot of games these days. In november i put many many hours doing just that in a popular single player rpg, and it kind of becomes naggingly apparent after a while. and honestly next month i'll do it again in space. games do what they do well, but if you look too deeply, they tend to do the same thing, and its up to you to decide if the window dressing is worth it for you. coh is a mostly standard mmo with some mechanical variations and with window dressing that really appeals to me, so they get my dollar. If another game comes out where i can play a martial arts using blue dragon in samurai armor, i will consider moving,. I dont see that on the horizon.
oh, and while the forums have lately existed largely to get me angry, the ingame community is pretty fun, haven't found a similar one in other online games i have tried. -
well, for me, an interesting character heavily tainted by bad writing and fan power inflation. the recent movies are good though. as are the games, generally. but once he starts being able to beat the guy who can fly into space and smash buildings in one hit, i kind of soured on him.

Quote:well, that is great for heroes. for the question at hand, a superhero is very much the sturm und drang and general flambouyance of the setting and action. even if they lack super powers per se, the may have massively exaggerated versions of natural skills as in some martial arts films, and they fight odds that are unrealistic to think a person could overwhelm otherwise...by a lot. dirty harry isnt a superhero, despite him doing really well in gunfights, but wang chi and jack Burton are in "big trouble in little china"I think the basis for a great Hero is the one moment where they make the choice to believe in something greater than themselves, all the truly memorable Heroes that last through the ages all have that moment that everyone remembers when they go from the simple guy just trying to make it in the world to a legend.
oh, and to answer the other question. my characters tend to be a bit of column a and a bit of column b. There is some sort of logical consistency i feel is needed with my characters that if they really can go toe to toe with the kronos titan, they have to be more than just a well trained human. yes i know its all up with people and such, but its also outright stupid to me when a normal human with some special training can fight rularru or the kronos, It diminishes them by having that even be possible(as always, in my opinion, if you disagree, good for you, you go on and rp that, its your sub). there has to be an aspect of super to a hero fighting at the level of stuff we fight ingame or the suspension of disbelief just dies for me. so most of my characters have an element of the fantastic, dragons, angels, mad science, that sort of thing that justifies their power level. That said, to avoid making them just cardboard cutouts, I try to get into their minds to explain why they do what they do. everyone, no matter how powerful, has some aspect of average Joe/Josephine in them to make them grounded in something we can identify with, its something I try to put in my characters. -
the center flap is actually the second belt option, its not a separate kilt, so you need to wear the belt, but yeah, celestial belt 2 is for you.

my main interest in 4 legged rigs is, while it was not an if then statement, posi made the comment that for dinos we would need a 4 legged rig, and he said that comment relatively close to when the Halloween event came out, so it was very likely a statement made with knowledge that such a thing was on the imminent list for being implemented.
as such, My hope is that we get the absolute staple of comics, a dinosaur island type area. dragons also would be nice and do fit in the larger comics genre. so yeah, dinos and dragons, thats my wish. -
Quote:some of my heroes also would be up for that sort of thingIt doesn't matter what all the Villains want - what they all need is a slap
aaanywho. I dont have many vills, and fewer that arent jsut rogues i havent gotten around to switching, of vigs I really dont have time to take all the way...but What my vills want_
Violet tendencies-your wallet, also your pin number and any particularly expensive bits of jewelry. She underwent a bit of a character switch, as she first was concieved as a kind of feral killer human/dev earth hybrid in the vein of the movie "species" but i soon realized that eally was boring to me, so i rejigged her and made her a sort of catwoman type anti-villain who robs pretty much anything she can get her hands on from the wealthy and then fences the proceeds from her thefts(after keeping a percentage for herself) to take care of the lower class people in the rogue islands, basically refuting recluse's ideas of only caring for the strong and wealthy by being strong enough to protect the weak.
Dire worg- if you are a criminal, your femur. Dire is a former hero in self imposed exile after his showboating lead to the death of a hostage. He snapped and exiled himself to a place no innocents could get hurt because there arent any. He nominally works with arachnos so that he can get close enough to L.R. to kill him, and any criminals worth his time he enjoys hunting them down and killing them.
Marquis Renard- money, women and luxury, and more magic to get him more of the above. Basically he is a debased hedonist who comes from a long and infamous family of magic using criminals, and he's just keeping up the family business, after robbing half his family blind, and getting the other half in some very precarious demonic contracts they weren't technically aware he was signing them up for.
Mr. Snowball- some catnip. hes a cat that some scientists without foresight gave super powers and above human level intelligence..that turned out about as well as you'd expect.
Alerunner abney- Ale and wenches. a pirate from an alternate steampunk dimension, he's not a bad guy, he just has personal property issues...and sobriety issues, gains his pain dom powers from the strength of his hangovers.
Persuit- Basically he was summoned centuries ago to kill the saxons who were invading england, he was banished for a few centuries by a particularly powerful priest, but after he was summoned in the rogue islands, he decided to get back to work , tunrs out a lotta people have some saxon blood in them, so it counts to his contract. -
Funny part is the only hero morality one at high level i like is one good spider. unusual suspects is a dumb mission that reuses an overused trope, has wonky flow and just feels dumb and is really stupid on repeat. one good spider is the kind of mision i play he game for, I'm willing to wait for a porterhouse steak, rather than wolf down a cheeseburger in 3 mins.

I will be that guy and say that while i like the new powersets. I'd love to see them take a bit of a breather and concentrate art resources on getting us alt animations for most elemental melee sets, broadsword, app/patrons and pools. as well as some new emination points for projectiles from powersets and lore incarnate powers...hands, mouths, heads and perhaps getting us the possibilities of things like wands(especially the COL ones), ray-guns and maybe electric guitars for sonic blast would allow a lot of thematic breadth in an area that is under-served currently. and yes, more martial arts alt animations that look less like street fighting, since that has its own set now, and more like actual martial arts.
new sets are cool when they can mechanically be justified, but a few alt animations can liven up existing sets to be just about new. -
No, my point was about how exclusives are generally timed. you can see which figure you are buying so no gambling at all there. Its just that they were 3 month exclusives and now they are available everywhere as a secondary push to wring more profit from older content. though in this case all the figs are still selling, making the need to drop exclusivity to retain sales slightly less pressing.
-
Quote:because there will be an initial push by the MUST BUY people and that will trickle off, so eventually it will bring them more money in to put some other desireable item in to get the must buys back in, and sell the set outright because they will see the extra revenue from stubborns like me who wont buy one. It happens all the time, the recent popular game "Skylanders" had 2 exclusive characters to 2 retailers. they sold like hotcakes but then, they released them toa ll retailers after an exclusive window so that they coudl get the cash from people who could not get them at the retailers (of course, all of the figs are selling well, but i know the exclusive figs REALLY sold well, particularly the target exclusive one) so basically, a lot fo think it will happen because it has happend so often, exclusives are almost always a timed exclusives these days. But where does that confidence arise from? What's the business incentive for Paragon Studios to ungate the costume pieces when they can profit from players shelling out 11,000 Points to get them?
For the present, Zwillinger has said only that they don't have plans to offer a secondary option for purchasing the Super Pack-exclusive costumes in "the immediate future". That's not even "soon".
And plus , lets be frank, how often has paragon listened and gone to bat for us and listened to our feedback over the recent past? My strong suspicion is that the packs thing is ncsoft exerting itsself and paragon wanting to respond to our feedback, so the timed exclusive idea seems the most reasonable comprimise. -
Quote:My only contention with your point is this, Define long time. My guess is that its a specific time set up when they think they will get their majority of buyers both impulse buys and people determined to get the sets so they keep buying is probably around 3 months, about one quarter and then they will go for the group they could not get with supers and put them on sale. Is 3 months a long time? depends on perspective, at my elderly state, time goes pretty quickly, and given the quality of other packs that is out I can get by for a few months.Reading between the lines, that says an alternative isn't going to be coming for a long time, if ever.
As i see it, my complaints are registered, and my lack of purchases are kind of where i have pitched my tent, so i cant really buy them now, but between the imperial dynasty stuff and the additions to the old stuff that dink announced, I should be ok. If its a longer time than that, i'll concede my point, but i find a lot of financial decisions happen in quarters, and my intuition is that this will as well. -
Quote:Thats actually another costume set i should nag for, we can kind of do a miko's outfit now, but we need the wide sleeves to fit with robes. oh, dink., have another costume requestThat said, I AM actually rolling a female alt in i22... a Dark/Dark Controller that's a conservative Japanese shrine maiden.

this thread was a great deal more amusing than i had expected, bravo cap.
I will say that t4 is overrated, the shifts are the thing, man, to me t4 are not worth the effort relative to t3.
