    [ QUOTE ]

Nice one. Completely out of the blue. Why entire a proper conversation when you can be so innovative in your barbs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just figured I'd take a leaf out of your book and retread old ground. No need for innovation, eh?

You're just basically repeating "I'm right" and "no it isn't" over and over again. Murdering many, many, many thesauruses (thesauri?) in the process, but still not saying much. That comment of yours I quoted summed it up, WITH HILARIOUS RESULTS.

My logic is not faulty at all.

But by your own admission you're thick. Why trust the logic of someone like that.

  3. The booster pack isn't a promotion, it's a...booster pack. If Issue 15 was going to be elves and orcs, there'd be a point in there.
  4. Oh good lord. Rushed? My man, you have given me perfection there. Jane's dead on in that shot. Me love you long time, kk?

Insanely jealous of your artistic ability, I really am.

No proliferations at all in i13 and possibly i14 since they think mission architect can carry a whole issue

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course, if you bothered reading Positron's clarification they said plenty of content would be coming with I14, they just felt the creator would have been strong enough to stand by itself if they did choose to release it like that.
  6. Sunday evening, oh god please sunday evening.

I work saturday afternoons, but am free on sundays from 6pm onwards.
  7. I feel like such a freeloader here, but I don't suppose I could get one of my character...?

    Whichever's appealing to you, costume-wise!

In retrospect I should have gotten a few more shots. But, um, cookies and hugs anyway?

Much appreciated there, Catz! Must admit the pic has gotten me tweaking her "casual" costume so this suit takes over as the main one.

WAR, Wrath and so on. A dip's expected, especially with the lull in content patches. If the population is still dropping like this in a few months, then I think the "OMG WE R ALL DED" folk will be vindicated. No sooner than that, though.
  10. FFS.

I won't be there. Work has been whining at me to come in, despite me telling them I had things to do. Oh well.

You don't see anything wrong with the fact its (a) its over a 10% drop and (b) the lowest figure ever for joint USA & EU?

    "The game is not dying."

"[censored] HOW CAN YOU SAY THERE'S NOT A DROP"

Er, yeah. Take my post in its full context please.

    [ QUOTE ]

Nope, wrong, subscribers do not equal players, and non playing subscribers eventually stop being subscribers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Subscribers are still there, despite the best claims of the anti-CoX brigade.

Oh well thats a blow to the "more people than ever playing / numbers aint down" brigade.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a blow to those who insist on screeching the game is dying as well, tbh. 125k monthly users is a considerable number.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
I would but sadly today is WotLK release day (for me...muwahaha peons having to wait till 12am to get it...I can procure my copy at 8:30pm...fear me and my job perks!)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Servers don't go live with Wrath until midnight... >_>

But ye, I'll be there. Provided Zortel can control her current Left 4 Dead pangs.
  14. Righto, back from work now, so I can elaborate a little more.

First up, Jane is attached to a themed Supergroup already. We're trying to give ourselves somehing of a boost in terms of general activity, and I'm trying to go /think on some plots and the like. Unfortunately a lot of time at work has drained me of most mental functions this week, so I'm a bit slow with it.

Secondly, Varrick is indeed a player character. The loyalty is there, but it isn't overriding any and all interaction with other people. My problem is that said attachment to Varrick is one of the biggest facets to Jane, which - as fun as it is - has made her pretty shallow. I'm trying to flesh the girl out without neccesarily diluting that kind of mindset; her rise and fall through the ranks of Arachnos is a pretty significant chunk in her storyline.

However, point taken and I'll sit down and have a think about where I can go from here. Honestly, when I look at it like this I can see it mirroring the reasons I got in a huff with WoW roleplay several years back - though it was never intended to be, my character's partner (Varrick being the non-romantic equivelant here) was a bit too important for my own even though I denied it at the time. You can guess what happened when said person left...
  15. Righto, apologies in advance for the brevity of this thread as - like always - I started it over an hour ago but constant delays on my part ("I'll just listen to 'Be Prepared' three more times...") mean I'm now scrambling to get it up before work in ten minutes.

    Anyway!

A couple months ago I fell out of love with CoX. I wasn't really abel to find much in the way of PVE teaming, my Heroes would flounder in terms of characterisation, and my villain Jane apparently hinged on three things:

    1.) Crab Spider claws.

    2.) Loyalty to Varrick.

3.) An odd blend of Americanisms good ol' Brit sayings.

This time around I'm trying to prepare myself for a more dedicated, more thorough attempt at getting involved in the larger roleplaying community. Unfortunately I need a little help sorting Jane out and making her into something that's a bit more substantial beyond standing around and looking frightening for a few minutes at a time. To that end I currently have three things in mind:

1.) Completely rewrite her Wiki page. Not retcon her or anything, but just flesh her out, add more depth to the page and make her seem like a person rather than a character.

2.) Get a story written for her in the next couple of weeks. Nothing too big, just something which delves into her childhood and the incident that nudged her from Arachnos Grunt to Fanatical Devotee Of Commander Varrick The All-Awesome-And-All-Knowing.

3.) Uh, this is where I fall down.

Is anyone able to help here? Have you had a similar problem before, and if so how did you improve on it? I'm treating my lack of interest in Heroes as a seperate problem right now, but any advice on any of these things would be lovely.

So what exactly are they here for then?

They had the resources to sit monitoring arena chat and pulling someone up for making a joke the other afternoon.

Conversation is a lot more clear cut than someone claiming lag.

Thats about right for EU staff, had you been on a US server that would have been sorted for you within the hour.

Your lucky they didnt tell you to upgrade your drivers in French.

Or blame it on ya ISP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the EU I've always had my problems sorted quickly and quietly. In the US I've never had contact with a GM.

    *tap on the forehead.*
    Good for you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'm glad we agree.

Claiming Shields should have high levels of regeneration because comic heroes had it - from sources that weren't a shield at that - is inherently flawed.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I gues you just failed reading the replies then.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, I read them perfectly - which is why I find them so flawed.
  21. [ QUOTE ]

Such line, i never seen a katana or broadsword give the whielder a super damage boost, neither a gun spray unlimited bullets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lovely strawman you have there. Nobody was defending those powersets. You, however, were bringing up irrelevant comparisons.

    [ QUOTE ]
Then, along your line of view, several powers of this set have NOTHING to do with a shield: Phalanx, active, AaO (except the deflect, but inv/wp/ice does the same) and offcourse One with the shield, wich is basicly the WP/Inv combo tier9.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I haven't given my view. I was merely pointing out the horrific flaws in your own.
  22. [ QUOTE ]

Why not? Captain America, Mr Shield himself also have an increased health regen. Wonder Woman i can recall having a shield once in a while has powers close to Hercules himself, not some stupid defense.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you want to get technical, neither of those people you mentioned have their regeneration bolstered by a shield.

    [ QUOTE ]
Added, if you prefer more realistic, whielding a shield in such maner requires great training (as seen for example on 300), thus increased natural strength would be logical.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can keep running without ever taking a break, leap over vehicles in a single bound, get into extended fights with super humans and still have enough left in you to /em dance afterwards. Let's see the Spartans do that.

    [ QUOTE ]
Gamewise, take a look at Paladin (WoW), Paragon (GW), Guardian (AoC), and sortlike.

    [/ QUOTE ]

None of those classes regenerated because of their shield. They regenerated because they had other abilities.
  23. [ QUOTE ]

City of Heroes uses its own engine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I REMEMBERED CORRECTLY.

You may touch me if you wish.
  24. The engine is an in-house creation, IIRC, so not directly based on any other.
