Emphasis on the word 'official' - usually it means they take small things like story canon into account.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh please. That's a lame excuse.
"The stories might not be canon! MY ENJOYMENT IS CRIPPLED."
You're actively looking for stuff to complain about now. -
[ QUOTE ]
Having limited time, personally I prefer to pay for and get official MMO content - not be given the tools to do it myself and told "There you go - unlimited playability!" - because its not the same thing!.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, if only they allowed us to play missions other people created. Instead oh woe is us, we're forced to make missions and play nothing but our own.
You suck Nor Cal. You really should have thought things through. -
[ QUOTE ]
This project turns over something like $20,000,000 a year. Dont you think they should have? I mean, they employ programmers don't they?
[/ QUOTE ]
Man, I hope NC never hire you. Protip: more money =/= quicker results.
[ QUOTE ]
I said it's crazy to concentrate on this when they should have been trying to match upcoming competitions inventiveness.
[/ QUOTE ]
Funnily enough, they've been working on issue 15 alongside issue 14. Basic research ftw. -
[ QUOTE ]
Coca Cola dont sell half empty bottles of drink because they are manufacturing new bottles.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your analogy would only work if you said the Coca Cola company wasn't adding fanta to its coke bottles... -
[ QUOTE ]
Burt the devs do not have our limitations. they have far more resources at their disposal and, if they wanted to could add more.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wanting to and being able to do so with speed are two different things. You've been smacked around these forums enough for that to have sunk in, but continue to ignore it.
Ho-hum. -
[ QUOTE ]
And if the devs did exactly the same thing, why would I complain?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because you're you.
If the developers simply rehashed pre-existing content (which is what players are doing with the MA system, minus writing), the playerbase would scream their bloody head off about how it was lazy and uninspired. You don't put mobs in the Hood 1 costume with some alternate colours and call it done, after all. You weren't on about customising missions, you were on about new ones entirely.
You don't get interesting stuff just by recycling the old. It's why nobody eats their own [censored]. -
[ QUOTE ]
Of course it does. Blimey I made a couple of new mobs and villians in 10 minutes flat. I've seen several engaging player made villians. And this is our spare time. And most definately not our profession. It's a piece of cake.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, what you did is make new costumes for old mobs using old costume pieces. I can bet you'd be among those whinging the developers were being cheap if they used existing costume pieces and packaged the mobs as "new".
Although if that would please you, then I apologise for over-eestimating your standards. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but in the overall picture, this just highlights their shortcomings as far as i'm concerned.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or perhaps it just how overly optimistic you and Cobra Man are.
Yeah, we've been given dev tools. Big whoop. That doesn't mean it's easy for them to add new features to it, create interesting and fresh mobs out of thin air or create new maps.
The only element we're bringing to the game is writing. Everything else already exists inside CoX; so I don't know where the hell people are getting the idea that the MA is an indication new (as in genuinely new) content is simple. -
Man, you can totally see where Jay had wet dreams over these costumes.
-
[ QUOTE ]
No he's not. He's just a dumb little barbarian who didn't bother to extend his thought processes to realise that that would ONLY make sense if the MA was accessed through terminals INSIDE the Vanguard base, rather than a big new shiney building in the middle of a frickin' war zone! (And who the hell did they get to build it anyway?)
[/ QUOTE ]
...and the question of Aeon and Crey business practises/mental states...?
Honestly, even by the usual standard of complaint I see from a lot of my fellow roleplayers this one strikes me incredibly petty. An entire outlet for custom missions, backstories, general storylines, private enviroments, exposition, etc, has been created...yet it gets rumbled on because one of the locations is questionable.
Bloody hell. If we were given a walk function I'd swear someone would string it up because their character story doesn't involve gentle exercise. -
[ QUOTE ]
Who's joking? I'm just working on my post count!
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is the joke in its entirety. -
[ QUOTE ]
Think I can finish of the career mode off BASS in GH:WT before I14 launch after all!
[/ QUOTE ]
Doubt you'll be able to, what with all the time you're investing into constantly prattling away with the same 'joke'. -
[ QUOTE ]
Just more proof that they quit caring about the story in this game a long long time ago...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Aeon and Crey are known as two of the most stable minds of the 21st century.
Jesus. -
Oooo, that's lovely. In truth, that little pout she has more than makes up for anything you missed.
It's fine though, seriously. Jane's got a bit of a funny costume, and I prefer it being symmetrical in something as stylised as this. Thanks again! -
Oooo, I can't pass this up. :>
Jane Lundgren.
Unfortunately she's too frigging big to get into the shot entirely from any other angle. ¬_¬ -
"Incidents like this"? All we've been given so far is her angry post on the matter and nothing that's really substantial. It's rather premature to condemn NC when you don't even know what was said in those e-mails.
-
Your mom stifles creativity.
But, uh. I heartily endorse this service and/or product. -
Yeah, and? I didn't say it wasn't an achievement. I took issue with Phantoms' hideous exaggeration of the effort involved.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, great suggestion. Make hours, days, weeks, months of hard work go to waste.
[/ QUOTE ]
OH MY GOD GRINDING LONGBOW UNDER CONFUSION THE HUMANITY OH NOES WE CAN'T TAKE EFFORT OF THIS MAGNITUDE D: -
Now you know why I can't see Longbow as worse than player characters.
And Knowing is Half The Battle. -
[ QUOTE ]
Edited for accuracy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, and a lot of villains in the game are only 'suspects' that get stuff retroactively attached to them.
The Blue Steel whining annoys the [censored] out of me. -
[ QUOTE ]
But he is probably a good guy who doesn't go round beating prisoners to death.
[/ QUOTE ]
Blue Steel beat a murderer to the point of death. Y'know, like every single bloody PC does a hundred times over in the average play session. -
[ QUOTE ]
The progress bar is STILL there!
[/ QUOTE ]
...that's because they said it would be removed in a future build.
[ QUOTE ]
Why the heck let folks get the badge for 6 issues then all of a sudden say 'oops, wasn't meant to be there' even though the badge specifically states that it's the hero version of the villain badge
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it's an artifact of an earlier, abandoned idea as already said in the thread.
It helps to read these threads if you want to know this stuff. :P -
[ QUOTE ]
If you really stretch the truth, you could call Longbow a group of vigilantes. They operate out side the law, and in many cases they invade the territory of a sovereign nation. Not to mention the many time when parts of longbow decide to play Judge, Jury, and Executioner while on paragon soil.
[/ QUOTE ]
This argument always makes me giggle. They're just doing the stuff PCs have been taking part in for years beforehand.
As I've said before, the only reason people whinge about Longbow is because it distracts from their own brutal treatment of criminals, their own invasions of sovereign countries and their own questionable ethics.
