  1. hmm...I'd like to look at it when it's completed. Looks pretty good other than that though.
  2. I forgot when are you doing the recluse TF? I missed it on SAt hopeing to do it sometime. it's the only CoV TF I haven't done atall and on my main.
  3. well I'm glad the council is back. always so boreing when I went in on villains adn found no one in my SG.

Yep I'm in the failure club... for this year. Next year! Next year I willl book holiday and write nonsense, but lots of it!

    [/ QUOTE ]
if I get the money I'll have a laptop so even if I get cartered off on holday I can bring my stories with me

lol don't worry I did too. only got up to 9k words and then my life began to overwhelm me. apparently my parents and stupid job courses don't accept the NaNoWriMo as an excuse to do nothing...also the computers at the course where MS word when I only have MS works. damn crappy program. But atleast it got me into carrying on the rest of my writeing.
  6. stuck on 9k but that's kk. I'm more interested in just writeing it and then writeing the one of the story before hand. I'm not gonna do a Gorge Lucas and publish them in that order I'll finish teh first after the second and then publish the first if I have the chance.
  7. Also I'd like to point out that the use of calling Ghost widow Red Widow is not a typo. I'm useing teh part of the arc Ghost mentioned when I had oto betrey her. She said she was once called her red widow without realiseing it.
  8. damn writeing has been getting harder recently...been triyng to level up on CoH a bit. my main on coH is 18 and my CoV opposite is levl 50. not very even now are they?
  9. lol I kinda gave you a bit of a drawing challenge didn't I swissy? but I hope it's not too much to ask for. I just through the pic would look great.
  10. I only got around 8kish words...damn I wish they chose a better month. perferably the one when I ddin't take on this crappy course. Today's stupid question was: "Which button is the one to minimize the screen."
  11. Ok I put my completed work so far up. but remember this is jsut draft. I'll go back over it when finished.

  12. Prologue

Deep in the city of paragon, now knowing as the city of destiny given after the great battles that occurred here and how the heroes made their final stand finally toppling the evil of the world. There was a large white building that once used to be known as the city hall, but the world changed so much the building was made into a museum. The tour guide smiled as she walked back and letting her old group head back outside. Her hair was jet black and shoulder length. She worse the usual uniform of the museum which was what most museum guide the wore with the general office skirt and top with her badge showing her face and name. It was Heather Veen. She guided them through the halls that were now littered with information of the past gangs and villain groups that used to plague the world.

Soon arriving through the hall of the legendary heroes they passed many costumes all labelled. The famous Freedom Phalanx costumes and even the more not so well story of apex who’s costume was also on exhibit along with the iron sword left by War Witch from her mystic flame turned to iron. There was a room off to the side with the title at the top reading “The Die force”. They were one of the many hundreds of thousands of super groups that helped turn the tide when things looked grim. Entering She turned and smiled once everyone was inside.

The door then automatically closed and the lighting effects began. Soon the room lit up and the walls were all made of arcane stone. It wasn’t real, but it looked it. There were rows of glass cabinets of costumes with model’s that were displaying the cloths. The models were so realistic it was almost as if the hero’s themselves were in the costumes ready to come to life at the first sign of trouble. The names were displayed beneath. It became obvious they were models from the fact the heroes had more than one costume and so there were duplicate of them. All the members were there and even certain items from they’re adventures were displayed.

All the items were relatively ancient and it was hard to believe that they could be in such good condition. There were the broken glasses of Heaven’s wing who had them broken during the Die Force’s greatest fight, Hell’s wings horns which were broken off by himself to free his mind from the evil Dr Aeon. There was even Dee Twelve’s bow handed by the hero himself. There was also a door way leading into another room names “The Neo Die Force” which was the rebuilt super group. After most of the main Die Force retired. Dee Six formed the New Die Force this was only as team of four however. There was a board next to the door with a short history of who the new members were that had joined and their alias’s:

Member 1: Dee Six (The original whom entered this world from another dimension as fully explained within the original Die Force super group room. )

    Member 2: Neo Dee Four
Daughter of Dee Six’s protégée, Sakura Mokoana took up the mantle her mother wore before she retired. Mother and Daughter not only shared the same hero name, but also the same powers. Sakura was just as strong and powerful as her mother was a battle rage to match. Though she never battle the same inner demons as he mother Sakura battled her fair share of demons and villain within paragon city.

    Member 3: Dee Eight II
Koichi Lanson, son of Shyntyrr and Belbreena (Bel Mokoana), joined at the request of his parents. Born with his mothers flame abilities but trained in his father’s martial arts Koichi was one of Paragon Cities first flame scrappers. Prior to joining the NDF, he was often seen teaming with Sakura keeping the street of Paragon safe.

    Member 4: Dee Ten II
Tetsuya Lanson, Koichi’s brother, was the final member to join the NDF. He did so as he idolised his brother and wished to follow in his heroic footsteps. Unlike his brother, he was a fire controller, he held a more powerful control over fire than his older brother, but he lacked the combat skills his brother had.

    Other members:
Among the NDF records are several files in which the original Dee Four Belbreena and Shyntyrr where called back into active duty, the most famous of these is the battle against Aeon Next Gen. A set of advanced robotic armour infused with a copy of Doctor Aeon’s personality. The battle ended with the robots destruction with no major injuries sustained to the NDF. After the battle however that was also the day Heaven’s wing and Hell’s wing decided to retire to escape the horrid memories of their past.

After the years went by many members of this new super group also grew old or retired at their own expense of happiness. However Dee Six was still as young as she ever was despite her age and then disappeared. It was rumoured that she lives in hiding awaiting the day she may be needed again and her healing powers to be once again used for good.

The tour guide then cleared her throat to receive everyone’s attention. “As I know you are all aware of this is a room dedicated to the Die Force. Home to many heroes who saved this city and caused many turning points. Many groups like this one made it their job to work hard and fight for truth and justice. Many of you all know the stories of what they did and how they overcame great problems. Such as of the universe where the Circle of Thorns ruled the world and were using a rift to enter this one, but teamed up with the last hero of that world they knocked them back. Or When the Carnival of Shadows took control of the leader, Dee Six’s mind. I’m sure everyone of you would’ve even heard of this one story which made the Die Force as famous as it is today. I shall tell you all the story of the tablet of the Mu which not only brought pain to many, but hope as well. This is the story of Hell and Heaven. They were the most recent recruits, and sadly a few of the last.”

Seeing their interest she smiled as she then turned and using a remove she pressed a button pointing it at the wall which then opened up revealing a large flat screen. The other walls opened too and more screens appeared as the artefacts and costumes moved out of the way for everyone to have a great view of the monitors before they flashed on. Turning back to them she held the remote in her hand as she crossed her arms. “Now let us, at the museum, take you back one thousand years” she then smiled gleefully as she pressed another button and a film began to run showing a re-enactment of what happened all those years ago. Of course…parts were left out but none shall be to those old enough to see and hear these things.
Chapter 1: The Trouble with Tomb Robbing

Hidden deep in one of the many temples of the great and powerful Mu civilisation, whom were believed to have been wiped out and their blood surviving only in the form of being part of most everyday men there was a single ancient tablet which had been known to hold great mystic power. A tablet…that was hidden due to the immense power that was resonating inside of it. A tablet that could focus only the most powerful of elements to the user. The Elements of light and darkness.

There have been of course many hundreds of thousands of depictions of this tablet as well as how its power could be used to subdue even the strongest of enemies. Baffling many historians as to why the Mu never used it in the final battle against the Circle of Thorns is a complete mystery. Recently the hidden temple with that very tablet had its seal broken and now there were intruders running around this sacred place. People who were not welcome in this holy land. They were known today as the circle of thorns and today was the day but once called the Oranbega, they were hoping to find the tablet and use it’s abilities for their own dark purposes.

Many traps were within this temple and many spirits were blocking the paths of the circle of thorns. Unfortunately the circle had already learned many spirit banishing and controlling spells that even their lowest mages could use. The Spirits were then easy work and banished within one word they would mutter. It was almost like child’s play and the final room held the entrance to the final chamber. Blocked by only a giant wall they used the two Behemoth overlords to smash the wall down as the mages waited around the chamber keeping their eyes open for any disturbance what-so-ever.

After the wall collapsed the mages ran into an empty room. Completely made of black marble. This was strange to them and they both looked around the place unsure what to do. It was obviously a Mu riddle of some kind. A ruin mage then used his earthly powers to try and crack the walls down. A few others joined him and before they knew it a crack was made overhead which opened the room to the light. As the light shone inside the room all the marble disintegrated leaving the pathway clear and revealing a doorway from where to enter.

This new room was from white marble and so the mages knew what was coming and used the soul mages to fire darkness all over the walls to try and darken the room as much as they could. As predictable as they always thought the Mu were the walls melted away leaving this time a large wooden door. Giant silver rings hung from silver heads also attached to the door. One of an angel and the knocker around the neck while on the demon it was the horns but attached to make the knocker shape. An inscription in the ancient Mu language was upon the door engraved in gold.

Beyond the door is the tablet of energy. With it lies what was once known as the ultimate power. This will be the final test for those who seek this power, but heed this warning. “If you are not prepared to balance yourself with both light and darkness you’ll cease to exist.” If you know not the answer leave with you’re lives.

A careless soul mage simply had enough of these riddles and pulled hard on the angelic knocker. It wouldn’t move. Annoyed he let go and let it swing hitting the door, but as he did this beams from the angel’s eyes shot out and burned the mage into powdered ash before the eyes of his comrades. Watching this display with their smoking green aura feeling from the eyes they looked back at the door. Obviously this trap was one not to be taken lightly. They had to think this one through. This time they sent a demon to knock on the demon knocker. At first there was nothing, but then beams from the demon burned the creature as it had done to the mage and it too was now a pile of mess on the floor. Seeing as everything so far was killed the demonic ghosts enters and began to pull at the knockers. Both at once. At first there was nothing. The larger one then grabbed both and the door began to creak slowly open. The head death mage widened his eyes and made sure to watch every moment of the door successfully opening.

There was one problem however, Light shone through and the ghosts were no more. Sapped away and the door slammed shut again. Now a madness made walked over to the death mage and whispered into his ear. Hearing this the death mage smirked and nodded. “Yes. I think we can.” he smirked as he clicked his fingers. Suddenly two heavily cloaked figures appeared carrying a female who was struggling for her life. The Death mage stared at her disgustedly. “You girl. You’ll help us open the door.” he instructed her. She however continued to struggle and the death mage went to the angel head gripping the knocked while she did on the demon knocker. “Do as I say girl. Pull you’re side as I do. After that you’re free to go.” hearing the words of her freedom she stared at them almost receiving a burst of new energy. “R-Really? You’d…You’d let me go?” she asked hopefully and he nodded respectfully closing his eyes.

Agreeing to these new terms the woman pulled hard on the handle just as he did. As with earlier it appeared nothing was happening, but slowly and surely it began to open. Light had stopped shining and only darkness seemed to be within there. After the opening was large enough Behemoth overlord helped pull the doors apart and held them open until they locked into place with a loud and dull thud. After looking into the new room they saw the tablet very clearly. The whole room looked more like a shrine. A shine with all the elements circling it. The stone of the wall represented earth, the water that surrounded it and too up most of the room was water, the mist in the air was air and finally the shelves held many thousands of candles that looked as if they were newly lit. All of them stared in awe. It was just as the scrolls described it.

The innocent woman was attempting to sneak off but with a snap of the death mage’s fingers dark tentacles came up at her feet and held her on the spot. Turning angrily at her she screamed at him. “We had a deal! I help you open that stupid door and you let me go!” but her screams didn’t effect him and he just smirked. “I let you go…but I caught you again after the door was open. I believe that itself was our deal.” he walked slowly towards her as did the handful of mages he had with him. Concentrating together green Smokey flames appeared and her body was lifted into the air. They began to chant and after an hour her soul was lost and one of the Oranbega ancestors was inhabiting it. Smirking she had green glowing eyes and said “Miss me? That door’s defence was painful, brother.” a familiar voice echoed and he nodded. She joined him as they returned to the room where the tablet was.

The tablet itself seemed completely unprotected within this room. It was atop of a stone cylinder alter on top of a much large stone cylinder that was the platform where the robe bridge was attached to from the large ledge in the room itself. Only the two behemoth overlords, five fire thorn casters, two thorn wielders, two soul mages, a madness mage, force mage and death mage along with their other soul mage brought back were all that were left from the large group that entered. The only other problem was creatures like the Devouring Earth also living there and wanting to tare the place apart. Thankfully the place was cleared and all that was needed was the tablet but no one would dare cross it due to what had already happened. After a short while however the death mage just decided to start walking across the bridge with the woman now following him.

As the bridge swayed trying to keep on their weight a madness mage joined them on the bridge before the death mage had reached the alter. The other waited including the thorn wielders. The death mage slowly placed his wrinkled old hands on to the old stone tablet and began to feel a surge or energy from it already. The long nails on his hands shone almost as if they were reacting to touching the tablet. His eyes continued to glow as he began to look at the markings. They were truly the most powerful of spells were used on this to keep the power contained. Not only was it proof that the power within it need to be held with only the best of the Mu’s sorcery but that they themselves feared this power would cause hell on earth…of course the Circle were known for attempting that on more than one occasion and so he grinned. Without a second’s though he pulled the tablet from it’ s place. It had been attached there and held for balancing purposes. Of course he only realised this after removing it and the alter fell. As it did the room shook and everyone looked around as their attentions were diverted to the behemoth overlord that grunted in pain as a huge slab of stone was crushing on top of him.

Rushing back across the death mage and possessed woman knocked the madness mage over who only screamed as he fell before a giant fish jumped and devoured him in one bite. They all began to run past the behemoth demon before the other one tried to shove past but only knocked the other out which made the giant slab crush the one who pushed him out. The temple was shaking violently and began to crumble at the seams. As they ran they hundreds of the many giant bricks were falling and a few archways collapsed which caught the other behemoth and two soul mages. Another few archways fell and now there were only the death mage, possessed female and the two thorn wielders. The place still collapsing they all soon escaped but only barely as the entire place collapsed and they were now safe. Holding the tablet close the Death mage turned seeing how few there are left he smirked victoriously. “Now as you see my brethren…we have the tablet. Now we shall rule over the world as we were meant to.” He began to make a victory walk with it until when turning he noticed the archnose choppers already landed and the many troops armed to the teeth in weaponry. Before they could attempt to attack the guns were already aimed and fired the barrages of bullets that tore through their robes and bodies letting them fall lifelessly.

The huntsman walking with his long cape flowing through the air walked to the tablet. Grasping it he had trouble pulling it from the dead and lifeless hands and grinning.
“Just as Black scorpion said it would be. So easy and the tablet didn’t even get a scratch from the gun fire…must be just as he said.” he then turned to the men bringing the tablet with him. “Pack up boys…mission completed” he called out as they all boarded the choppers heading back to Grandville. The city itself seemed almost as if it were in perpetual darkness and the webs that connected all over the place making it almost seem as if the ruler, Lord Recluse, got out and spun the web himself. It’d to be so hard to believe if it wasn’t for the fact he had giant metal spider legs out of his back with bladed tips. No matter what he looked though no one would defend him nor the four of his inner circle. Black Widow, Scirocco, Black Scorpion and Captain Mako. The five of them together weren’t the kind to be undermined and everyone in the Rouge Islands knew that. They’d gone head-to-head against Freedom Phalanx. Something no other villain could truthfully say without been thrown into jail first.

The Huntsman who recovered the tablet ascended up the elevator and entered the conference room where all the members sat. Lord Recluse was looking out over his city and he only briefly looked at the huntsman before realising the mission was complete. “So the fortunas were right? The Oranbega were there?” he asked and the huntsman nodded. This news didn’t seem to effect Lord Recluse but inside this disturbed him. He was warned by Kalinda that this would happen. The tablet was powerful and if they got their hands on it and managed to unlock their secrets…then not even all 5 of them combined could defeat them. The huntsman placed the tablet laying in the centre of the conference table and everyone eyed it. After the next long moments of the huntsman leaving Lord Recluse suddenly turned to them all with his hands across his chest. “What can we do with this artefact?” he asked as it seemed any choice would be too dangerous no matter what it was. Captain Mako’s slimy webbed hands reached for it but Scirocco drew his sword and attempted to take his hand off. Of course he gave time for Mako to move his hand out eh way but he got a glare back from Mako’s deep black eyes.

“You have any idea what this is even capable of, Mako? Your obsession of power can’t even grasp at this power. From the Mu language I know I can tell they used far too many safety inscriptions upon it for this to be something trivial. Most of them I don’t’ even know!” he exclaimed loudly as Ghost Widow nodded agreeing to him. “He is right…my powers can sense that this lump of rock has more of a chance of taking control of the user instead of the other way around. I’m not touching it.” she mumbled sounding as if she didn’t really care either way. Black Scorpion was unconvinced and wanted to analyse it. “I shall take it Lord Recluse. I’m sure one of my many qualified scientists could take it.” he suggested, but Lord Recluse along with everyone else had an unimpressed look on their faces.
“You going to hand this over to Dr Aeon?” he began to ask but Black scorpion shook his head. “No Lord…I know you all have seen how his experiments have gone wrong…no I have many lower groups who want to achieve trust within Archnose.” he explained. At this Lord Recluse then raised his eyebrow beneath the mask which made it hard to tell if he was going any kind of facial expression unless you could tell by he eyes…which were glowing red and were always unchanging. “You have someone in mind?” after asking this Black Scorpion nodded. “Yes…two in fact whom work together. Their both Geniuses and I was hoping on making them my understudies.” he smirked and as Lord Recluse saw that smirk he knew he was serious and nodded his head. “Take that tablet to them. I wish to learn it’s secrets for our own advantage.” he instructed Black Scorpion who then bowed before taking the tablet with him.

After he left Ghost Widow turned to her Lord looking slightly distressed. “My Lord, is this wise? What if there’s an overload?” he asked but Lord Recluse turned to her shaking his head. “It’ll be better to have it destroyed than somewhere any villain could grab it. Remember that, Red Widow.” he had then accidentally called her but he didn’t seem to notice before stepping through a doorway that lead to where technicians were working on many new things for his new plan Operation: Destiny.
    Chapter 2: The Competition.

On a solitary island off Cap Au Diable there was a large research centre. It wasn’t as impressive as the other labs Black scorpion owned but these two were new. As he watched from above in the chopper he felt an urge to throw the tablet over board. It was powerful, but that power did not come from technology…and this scared him. As his mind wondered it was soon brought to his senses when the chopper landed. After getting out he made sure to carry the tablet with him, but also felt hesitant about it. Could this large slab of rock really have the power within it to crush any force in the world? Was the power truly god-like? He didn’t know the answers but he hoped science could prove it wrong.

Waiting at the entrance there were a few scientists waiting for him to guide him into the complex. The entire place was white and looked like an average lab. The equipment inside however was anything but average. It was quite advanced due to the funding of Black Scorpion. They led him inside towards the main part of the lab where the owners were. His suit made it hard for him to fit through the average sized doorways but he managed to when shifting his body to the side and moving in slowly using his left foot entering first before he came to the main laboratory. One of them was messing around with the laser while his partner was instructing him.

Upon him being seen she tapped him on the shoulder. The female wore her black hair tied up at the back of her head in an oriental style and from the structure of her face it looked as though she was in fact from the orient herself. There were chop sticks in her braided hair keeping it up and nicely together. Her glasses seemed to go well with her features. The cloths she wore were the stereotypical lab coat and black trousers and shoes. Holding a clipboard she was just doing some maintenance checks and forced a friendly smiled over to Black Scorpion even though he was very scary and his height was just extended due to his long robotic tail coming from him back. His red eye seemed to almost sparkle at her.
“I’m guessing that’s you’re husband adjusting the laser.” he smiled. That was one thing he rarely did, but these two were gifted scientists and if they could prove to him that this tablet was fake he would certainly make sure their names work their way through the archnose ranks to be guarded. High priority guards. These two were geniuses, but not mad ones yet they would dare to cross the lines some times. Eventually her partner tried raising his head but it crashed against the metal plating as he forgot to take his head out first before raising it and cursed loudly. He soon regretted it when he saw Black Scorpion standing right there.

“S-Sir! Sorry about this. I was just adjusting the laser. I’d rather not vaporise it.” he explained and laughed a little trying to kind of break the ice but Black Scorpion just remained quiet. It didn’t sound like such a bad to him. Then again he just nodded. “Good to hear…This is delicate. We had to steal it from the Circle Of Thorns before they could use it.” As he told him this he look we dup at him with his own glasses and then moved the glass above his eyes to take a good look at the tablet. He couldn’t believe it was to have that power. His own long hair was dark brown and tied in a long pony tail. It was tied in a black hair band and the end only came about halfway down his upper back. They were both fairly well built and fit, though who wouldn’t be in a city where running for you’re life becomes a everyday task. Black scorpion then walked to the platform the lasers were pointed at and placed the artefact there standing. It almost looked as if it was always mean tot stand like that. Never to be found laying on it’s back. Staring at it uneasily he began to walk to leave them. “I expect the results to be handed to me in person. No excuses” he now said being tough sounded as he exited the building heading for the archnose chopper to be sent back to Grandville.

Before he started to walk into the chopper his communication device in his robotic arm went off without warning. Crossing his arms across his chest he then pressed a button with his left hand and a holographic display appeared. The figured looking back was dressed in a large, thick metal suit. His hair was drew and stuck up in the air long and spiked. The Goggles on his face were the one thing that gave away his identity straight away.
“What is it Doctor Aeon.” Black Scorpion now looking at him clearly annoyed by being interrupted by him. Doctor Aeon had an angry look of his own, however. “I’ve just been told you have taken the tablet to those two low grade scientists. How could you trust such…amateurs with it!” he then shouted but Black Scorpion simply stared back being annoyed by being spoken back to in such a way...but he couldn’t do anything about it. Lord Recluse ordered that Aeon should stay alive ever since years ago they said they executed him. “I chose them because, unlike you, they won’t be reckless with it.” at this Doctor Aeon screamed in rage before aiming both his fists at the machine that was displaying his holographic image and blasted streams of energy which then made his image fizz out. “There was a problem with you’re connection…please try again.” was the new voice that came from his suit and Black Scorpion just sneered at his arm before turning the communication link off. He decided he was just going to leave Doctor Aeon to his own devices as he had enough of him.

The two scientists in question were arguing in their office. It was a private office so the argument couldn’t be watched over by any interested eyes. The room was also sound proofed for their privacy.
“We can’t possibly do something like this. The job is far too difficult for us!” the female argued with her partner and he sighed making sure to be calm and placing his hands on her shoulders. Maria…please, just hear me out. We need this. It’s a big break for us…” he urged her to calm down. He’d never once hit her and he wasn’t going to start today by flipping out. She then just sighed and reached up stroking his cheek gently and affectionately. “I know we need this love…but, If we even make the slightest mistake we’ll be the next experiments.” she pointed to her love.
“I know…but think of it. If we get a high enough reputation within archnose then we can move from here to Paragon. Where we can eventually get married once everything is out the way.” The scientist smiled kissing Maria’s cheek. As she heard this she looked to her finger. It had never occurred but her hand looked bare without a gold ring on her finger. Thinking this over she then nodded and wrapped her arms tightly around him. “Michael, let’s go sleep…it’s starting to get dark and I don’t want to be chased by anyone.” Maria pointed out to her lover Michael. On these islands as soon as it would get dark all the gangs would emerge.
As Maria looked at him he simply held her close and tightly. I know this is wrong…and that we didn’t get into science to help evil and to help mankind along…But Maria this is a stepping stone…if we pull this off we can go wherever we want.” Michael promised her and they both looked into each other height but him being taller. His lips gently pressed against hers as her lips pressed against his. Taking a step back and smiling. “Let’s get home…we can do the research in the morning. Sighing but nodding he followed her gleefully...though he really wanted to get a closer look at the artefact.

After several hours past the night sky was as black as coal and a dark shadow moved through the lab making it’s way towards the analysing lasers. He took out a powered screwdriver and began to mess around with the wires in the lasers. Each one taking him only the short time of thirty minutes even though the four lasers were all very advanced for a common thief who didn’t even seem to steal anything either. After making his way out he muttered:
“I’ll show that fool for trusting a few amateur scientists who are still wet behind the ears. Their deaths shall be on his hands.” he smirked under his long dark cloak that was used to conceal his identity if he were seen. This figure came across an intern who was about to run to the alarm but the figure lifted a device of some kind which when he activated it paralysed the young intern making him collapse to the floor. The cloaked figure couldn’t let this be seen and so he dragged the body into an office and hid him beneath the desk hoping that the experiment would start long before he was found. As he left he also shut eh door making it look as though no one had entered as it seemed all other doors were wide open. As he exited the building he escaped from the island by boarding a small raft he had at hand. “Damn basic technology…but it’ll do.”

Being proud to get back to the working Michael was making a last few checks on the lasers making sure they were pointed at the tablet and all at the right angle being pointed at it. Satisfied he walked back to the main computer where Maria sat and nodded happily as he placed his goggles. Everyone else did the same and placed their goggles on. Pressing a few buttons on the main terminal she soon started the analysing sequence. As it began the intern was waking up slowly. As soon as he remembered what happened he got up quickly and rushed to the alarm and smashed his palm against the button to activate it…but the alarms were disabled. The experiment was starting. As he panicked the intern began to try and pry the door open but it appeared to have locked. Checking his pocket he found what he feared to be true…the stranger stole his electronic key car and locked him inside, but for what purpose.
As the analysis of the stone slab itself finished Michael kissed Maria gently on the lips before pressing the button himself to start a deep scan and try to find what the energy that emanated from it was. Everyone could feel it but it was yet to be registered on the computer. As the lasers started to began the many different monitors began to light up showing up hundreds of different statistics. All of the different power reading were all over the place. Some gave off massive negative figures while the rest were giving our giant boost of positive energy.

As the scan statistics increased Michael noticed that the laser’s strength was intensifying. “M-Maria…the beams…they’re getting too strong.” Michael began to warn her and as she examined her machine she began to try and alter the beams, but they only grew stronger. As she then began to try and shut down the system hundreds of different error messages were flashing across the screen before it blacked out and a message with a pixelated Dr Aeon’s head above it. Dear Followers of Science,

I personally don’t start sabotaging other people’s equipment as mine is the most advanced within the world, but you have angered me by agreeing to analyse this stone instead of me. Unfortunately I must not destroy the object as well as you’re reputation. I have implanted incriminating evidence for them to find about you all sharing secrets with the longbow.
    Nothing personal. Just business.

    Dr Aeon.

“[censored] I must removed it!” Michael then ran out the mainframe room and towards the lasers and looked back to check if Maria was alright, but she was right behind him.
“What are you doing Maria? You have to get out of here. Head for Paragon and explain everything before Archnose get here.” but she shook her head and grabbed his hand tightly.
“I won’t Michael, I can’t. I won’t leave you here to die. If you’re going to die…I have to too.” Cursing softly Michael looked around for an answer, it came to him. The emergence shut down was on the wall close by. He ran to it and then pulled it down making it shut off all the powers and as was expected everything shut off. Doors, computers, lights and even the few items people had hooked to the main. The lasers were still going however. Sighing in relief Michael walked towards Maria and hugged her tightly.
“We’re safe…” he smiled, but just as they said that the lasers switched themselves on and began their assault on the stone tablet. Michael ran to the circuitry and he could tell someone changed it. The way the screw was screwed back in was in the way of an X, Michael always left them like a cross as he always found maths easy and almost kind of worshipped it, but now was not the time to think about such things. Seeing his ending near he reached for the tablet as did Maria. Everything around them seemed to slow down before they touched the tablet and it shattered into a million pieces which then created a chain reaction of the entire complex to explode creating a giant mushroom cloud which Lord Recluse himself saw when gazing out the vertical city of Grandville.
  13. this was what I've been doing so far and is still in working. Before reading remember that I ahven't gone over it yet. I won't until I have finished so plase don't start complaining about speling errors or things makeing sense. I know there'll be alot of that as sometimes I just write without thinking. Do that alot too lol. So here's a preveiw of prolauge, chapter 1 and 2 in the next post.

Your story is encrypted, no one can read it - you're only judged on your word count - so no, you won't need permission

    [/ QUOTE ]
I meant if alot later on I decided ot send it to a publiser's or something like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you intended to have it professionally published, you'd almost definetly have to gain permission from Cryptic/NCSoft, as you'd be using elements Cryptic had created, unless you wrote the story in such a way it could be about any city with heroes in it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
yeah I was thinking that. by the time I finished the books I'll see if at the time they're working hard or not. If so then I'll ask them. I think I'll post a few chapters or something when it's gdone and rechecked.

Then your on dodgy legal ground, specifically that you're making money from Cryptic's work. The only way you'd be able to get that published would be through with Cryptic's permission; and I'd say they get 5 stories a week asking for that.

Charity would also be a problem, as any negative view of any of Cryptic's artisitc property could be seen as slander/libellous.

My advice, if you think it could sell, is to chat with RJ/Bridger about it and try and have it made part of their own Charity effort, as they did in Brighton, with all the proceeds going to Charity. A very similar thing was done at Continuum with scripts for the LRP's.
I can't say if they'd accept, but it will get your writing name out there for possible publishers and some money to a very deserving charity.

It would be a very nice idea though, and if any of the Rednames agree, it might be something to look at after I8 is released and debugged, as I think they might be too busy until then.

yeah I won't be done with this one for a while anyway. And then I had a thought of the oen before based on my friend's character's origons and everthing and maybe one after which by that tiem I'll have a KEhldian hero and nictus villain

This sounds like the old "You have no life because you spend your time on the computer, unlike all of us who get plastered at the weekend and can't even remember what we did." argument. So according to that, I have no life, whereas they do.

Ahem. I think I'll stick with my lack of life then.

    [/ QUOTE ]
lol same here. I got te hlack of life yet I have a girlfriend...thouhg the only problem is that I seem to be unable at getting a job and this course that's meant to give me qualify cations ofr an office job...it's basically instructions how to use a PC. lol. I mean I know what applications are and that clicking the button with the cross in it means it'll close it. They had 5 whole pages explaining that as well as the maximise/window and minmize buttons!!

Aw you could have left me my illusions!

I suppose, if you were all set to start writing at midnight and just go at it non-stop, it wouldn't be too hard to get it done that quick. But people with jobs and families and lives would find it a little more difficult...

On another subject... I don't suppose anybody here knows anything about natural childbirth? I want to have a sort of midwifery scene for one of my characters but I don't know anything about childbirth personally (and have no wish to either!)

    [/ QUOTE ]
do what the excitable teenagers do and google it! just make sure not to go on images. That will just be something that'll horrify anyone. lol. but that's kinda my suggestion. Lik e search. "Child birth midwifes" or something like that. Something that makes it more specific btu not too specific fro teh search to not find anything. all I can really offer really. I'm only 19 and male at that. Good luck.
  21. ah I forgot to mention...if you're interested my profile on NaNoWriMo site is the same as mine here. I always use the same name.

Based on the "Adopt-A-Dare" thread on the NaNo forums:

    - Everyone no matter what they're writing, genre/timeframe etc, must include a reference to City Of Heroes/Villains.
-Bonus points if this happens in every chapter.
    - x2 Bonus points if your character appears.
    - x3 Bonus points if your character ends up in an intimate situation with your story's main character.

I'm writing a story set in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, starring my main villain, and some cameos from other characters I have, or other peoples. Do I win by default?

    [/ QUOTE ]
my characters are too set in Paragon and rouge islands, as I mention they are my villlain and hero within them and they are romanticaly involved at a certain point. Also my friend's ones are in it to with their own romantic involvement. surely that must be x4 for that too.
