on the webpage it will say "previous drivers"
Here is the link for the 64 bit Windows 7 11.9

Quote:PNY is a 3rd party reseller that sells reference boards. They don't spend any extra engineering time trying to coax better performance/efficiency/etc out of a card. Asus and EVGA will spend some extra time trying to make the a better board rather than use a reference design by AMD/Nvidia. (Although many of the early cards they sell are reference boards until they can come out with an in house model)Fair enough. How about PNY? IIRC they are a good brand. This one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133356
I can't speak for the quality of PNY capacitors or their customer service. I have never dealt with them. Since they use reference boards, it will depend on the quality of parts they use. That would require someone with that card actually checking the capacitors they use. -
Quote:Both of those cards should be fairly low end powerwise, certainly less than a 8600 GT.Great, thank you! I think I'm going to be stuck with nvidia, but because I'm also restrained by a 300w power supply, and all of the AMD/ATI require 400w minimum.
Is there any reason to go with the brand name and not a different one (MSI, elitegroup, ASUS etc?) Others seem to have rebates on them, where the EVGA doesn't.
I generally prefer EVGA ("gamer" focused) and XFX (because of lifetime warranty) for cards because their customer service is good (should the card break) and I rarely have issues with their cards. I find MSI cards to be on the cheap side but ok, they use cheaper capacitors on their products. Elitegroup (ECS) has a bad repuation with many DIY folks because their stuff is often given away at Frys Electronics and the quality is well....
Asus makes good stuff but consider yourself hosed if you have to make an RMA call. If you are lucky, you might be able to get them to take it back, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
There are two camps on video cards, the camp that cares who the 3rd party reseller is and the camp who says buy the GPU chip for the cheapest price. I'm in the 3rd party reseller matters camp. -
If you don't mind going AMD/ATI I would suggest 6570 Runs about $60 and if you send in the rebate you can shave off another $10 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102934
If you want to stick with nvidia....GT 430 is about right for $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130579
Just my .02 INF -
Its really where wide cases like the Cooler Master HAF or 690 II Advanced make you appreicate the extra inch of room they offer.
I for one am glad Antec got rid of the dual chambers on their P280. -
I have a GTX260 card. Its a huge card that pumps out a lot of hot air.
That could would require a big case and decent air flow. Mine in an Antec P182 case usually gets close to 81C. It also sucks lots of power too.
Warden:You *might* find something on ebay, but those parts are worth less than the cost of shipping.
You might be able to find a debranded refurbished computer cheap. At those prices trying to make something new would probably be cheaper in the long run.
http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=SYS Cheap here but man these things are dinosaurs. Those that are not dinosaurs compete with new systems. -
I guess he wasn't around when all of those low level villain arcs had AV/Heroes and it was a pain in the rear when you couldn't clear an arc due to an enormous bag of hit points. At least with an elite boss most characters can solo it.
(For the record, I ran all of those arcs and I would bring in my level 50 from another account and beat down low level AVs.)
As for game mechanics on MY wish list to fix, I would remove all hunts from the game. I couldn't believe First Ward had such silly outdated stuff. -
Is there a possibility that your CoH install might have some corrupted files?
-
GPU temps look good. Your CPU temps are Smoking! 78C is enough to fry an egg! If you are not OC'ing your CPU...ouch.
If it goes much over 60C you are asking for instability, 75C is about the max for that chip.

The only time I had a crash problem was due to bad ATI drivers.10.11 and 11.5. Otherwise, I have been enjoying a lagfree, no DC and no crash game.
-
Brutes perfect? Certainly my preference on Resistance based sets due to higher caps. On Defense based sets I prefer a scrapper.
I'll still vote for controller being my favorite though. -
Quote:Don't type stuff like this, it could end up being the next gimmick on a high end iTrial which requires 48 people to fire off TP and a clicky within 1 second of each other. Yeah, it happens at the end of the trial and if 1 person fails then the trial ends in a failure.I bet you could get it faster with 47 Leaguemates with Recall Friend.
Kidding! -
What sorts of temps are you getting?
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
It could most certainly be a temp issue -
If its crashing in safe mode, then hardware failure is a real possibility. Use Hyperstrike's guide for asking for help.
Its also possible its a heat problem. Give us a readout of HWmonitor.

Nothing new to report, while I have received enough mixed reviews on 11.12 to not stick it on the recommended list, I can at least update it on the unconfirmed list.
I'll test 11.12 next btw. -
I'm sure the piledriver will address some of the bulldozer shortcomings. It might take a year like the Phenom I to II. Llano at least is a decent sucess and a decent boon for budget gaming laptops.
Quote:Yes the hex core Sandy Bridge E CPUs are actually octo cores with 20MB of L3 cache (with the hex core having only 12.5-15MB of L3). The reasons behind that decision that have been bandied about includes no need to compete; low 8 core yields; and exceeding targeted power and/or heat limits. AnandTech has a review of the true 4 core version with 10MB of L3 cache, i7-3820, and only found it slightly faster than the i7-2600K, in line with the difference in base clock speed.
Tom's Hardware have been saying since Sandy Bridge's introduction that for gaming, that any CPU priced beyond the i5-2500K is a waste of money but that doesn't stop gamers with deep pockets though.
Oh, and last nail in the AMD Vs Intel debate. -
I live 10 miles from newegg. I really liked it when they added in will call. Even so, I can usually get next day if I order early enough. Of course, it sucks when they ship it from out of state and it takes a few days.

I played a popular online space game that had a much better market than WWs.

There was an almost identical post just a little earlier.

Please make sure to use a "safe" amd driver. -
Some people have said 11.12 is stable others disagree. Given the mixed reviews I have not given those drivers any endorsement.

only problem with making new stuff to fight, if players view them as too tough or gimmicky, they will be avoided.
Notice how Freakshow went from everyone's favorite punching bags to one of those well...not so fun end draining groups. All that was done was adding the Super Stunner with its auto hit big end drain rez. Now, its possible to game that since SS xp via rez is the same and fewer people nearby means less health. So the trick is to have one person stand in range.
FW added anti-Stalker apparitions. Not only are the intitial forms worth 0 XP, it completely removes the ability for the stalker to get that first surprise strike in. Moral, I'll never run a stalker in FW. -
Looks like hyperstrike answered everything.
If you were able to build your own computer 8 years ago it will be pretty much the same today. If anything, its easier than ever. The last few builds I had booted up and I was able to start installing on the first try.
Some cases are easier to work on than others. Cheap cases are vampires! I stick with Antec, Cooler Master and Corsair. I prefer the CM and Corsair cases because they are wider and that extra little room makes a big difference when you have to deal with massive air cooling heatsinks and trying to stuff all the spare cabling under the motherboard panel. -
Its to slow down the AE/DFB 1-35 -> ITF 35-50 path.

If the person fesses up and admits they goofed, I am probably willing to forgive a goof. It happens.
If the person denies it happened or aruges it was ok and "within the rules" well 1 star and instant ignore list.
This is why the newer iTrials will be less popular, Sure some will be run if they are quick enough, but the Level 56 AVs + way too many ways to grief it = will lose popularity once the shiny wears off and all of the good players have the Mo badges and have less incentive to run them.
Quote:I was just leading a TPN on Freedom. I explained, many many times, NO AoES, NO DMG AURAS, NO PETS.
We got to the stage where Maelstrom is outside, and someone decided that Ion judgement is a single target attack. If he'd have had tier 4, we'd have instant wiped. As it was, he took us from around 150 public opinion to 30 in one move.
I usually don't have many bad PuG stories, but this one was so special I though I should share. What do you think about using Ion on civilians? Was he farming them? He chose the right judgement then. Though maybe he could have gotten more if he had using Pryonic or Vorpal or Void, as the chain may have ended prematurely.
I propose that any player that kills 30 or more civilians should get a badge.
"Griefer" - You are the best at griefing. You griefed an entire incarnate trial into failure.
"Griefer" would give an accolade that stops the use of the team-up teleporter.
Either that, or make a very special badge called "Idiot", displayed in size 70 font, that cannot be unequipped. Though I guess badgers would still try and get it, so that may actually be a horrible idea.
