If they do them too much, they're not special events. It's better, from a business point of view to hold back until there's some demand and then let them have it. It makes them look responsive, and those who do want it are eager for it.

Add me to the list of people who want more raids. More raids, please. -
I must be really gimped or something then because even with
domination up
demonic and charged armor running
fiery embrace popped
three small purples
two small oranges
a medium yellow
a medium red
and a confused Immunes Surgeon healing me
I can't get Polyphemus down below half his hp before he kills me. And it's the same story with all the other Elite (knew that, was just tired last night) Bosses I've run across in Cimeroa. Are they all super resistant to mind control and fire damage or something? -
Why does it seem like everything post lvl 45 has Epic Bosses in it?
I like teaming, but I also like playing solo, but it seems as though higher level missions are designed not to be soloable, at least for certain ATs, unless you have your powers uber slotted.
Why, when I am set to the lowest difficulty level, am I getting missions with two or more Epic Bosses in them? I'm looking at you Sister Airlia. Even if a mission is the final part of a story arc, multiple EBs on villainous? Seriously?
So basicially, I have two missions out of three that I am either forced to find someone to complete them for me, or I drop them, or I go do other stuff until I have outleveled them and therefore have a chance at completing them.
I neither expect, nor want, everything to be a cake-walk, but I'd like to think I have a chance of soloing an arc on the lowest setting without getting my butt handed to me multiple times.
I would also, for the record, LOVE some cheese with my whine. -

Something tells me that Manticore and Hero 1 were really not expecting a) this many questions, and b) the types of questions we're asking.

When, oh when, will the Devs stop underestimating the players?
-
I don't feel underpowered on teams, only solo. And solo I only feel underpowered when I can't take out a red-conning EB by myself; little else I face gives me problems, but when people talk about soloing AVs and I can't even solo an EB, then I feel... inadequate.

Assuming it wasn't previously asked in this thread: To what maximum height could the hero Atlas, grow? Also, was he able to reduce his height to within normal human parameters (i.e. 7' tall or less (give or take)).

Do you really want the devs to give villainside SFs and story arcs the same treatment heroside ones got?
[/ QUOTE ]
Frankly? Yes. Either that or add some new Strikeforces. As annoying as it can be, I would rather run the Positron TF ONCE for 64 merits than have to run Virgil Tarikoss FIVE TIMES for 60 merits.
Heck, by the time I've run through the first five Freedom Phalanx Task Forces I have garnered 28 more merits than running through all ten currently available Strike Forces. I for one would rather be annoyed once per character, than be bored 3-4 times per character for the same, or fewer, rewards. -

Also, a minor addendum: nice thread necromancy, Mouse Droid!
Im also curious - in an average fight how often tdo ou use Incinerate? Also, when you use it in a team situation, how often do you find it is able to deal its full damage, rather than having the mob killed off by a team-mate first?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure what that first part means. Hope I didn't do something wrong - I didn't mean to derail, or kill your thread.
As for incinerate, I probably use it more than I should when I'm solo, or at least more than I should have to - I shouldn't be letting anything get that close to me. The two awesome powers I don't use anywhere near enough are Confuse and Mass Confusion, which also contributes to my self gimpage. In team play I almost never use Incinerate or Combustion, because I'm much more likely to stay out of melee range.
Good point about Blazing Bolt. I've been trying to five slot it with Sting of the Manticore for the +7.5% (I think) recharge, but I guess there are other, easier ways to get that recharge.
For the record, I never PvP. I might try it in an attempt to get some of the new badges, but I won't significantly alter my build for it, and I don't have the Inf to slot out a second, PvP build on this toon. -

...if you had a groups with levels of 1-54, 1-20, 10-30, and 20-40, everything would spawn at 20, and players would be sidekicked or exemplared to 20.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's kind of what I thought too. There's probably some logical reason for it, but it just seems far too limiting to me.
And also, it sounds like the previous posters are saying that I could specifically choose Torches from the Outcast group without getting any Chargers, Bricks, etc. Or at least that's what I assumed they were saying, although it sounds suspiciously too good to be true to me. -
Awesome!
Although this does mean some of my characters will get even less love now. -
Or they could've been going for 25 million and didn't realize they hit both the 4 and 5 keys at the same time.
-
I just read in another forum that the 60 day ignore limit on Market slots was done away with in I14. Is that true? Yeah, I know, I should read the Dev notes for the issue, or do a search, but I'm just too darn excited! So is it true?

What passes for public banter on Virtue these days:
Hero X: How do I get to the University?
Joe Heroic: Sewer team forming, pst
Valiant Lass: lvl 42 tank lf AE farm
Captain Sparkles: lvl 52 Boss mish forming
Blandman: lvl 23 healer looking for AE mish
Gutbuster: Study, study, study
Pitchweaver: New to Paragon City? Looking for a place to hang your tights? The Punchy Paragon Paladins, a top 562 SG with full teleporters, a med bay and free shrimp Tuesdays and Thursdays are recruiting. RP is not required, but no one will team with you if you don't.
Joe Heroic: Sewer team forming three spots left pst
Gorrak the Rouge: lf AE farm, any lvl

Princess Purrball: Costume Contest under Atlas in 10 minutes, over 25-million in prizes!
Captain Sparkles: lvl 52 boss AE mish forming, 2 spots left
Gutbuster: Nevermind, Hero X

Doctor Old School: fire/kin lvl 6 lf any non-AE team
Gorrak the Rouge: lf AE farm, any lvl
Hero X: Nevermind what? All I want to know is where the University is.
Joe Heroic: Sewer team full, sorry
Professor Ed Norton: lvl 2 scrap lf sewer team
Princess Purrball: Costume Contest under Atlas in 9 minutes, over 25-million in prizes!
Oliver Wendle Douglas Man: lf AE farm
Gutbuster: *sigh* there's a university in Steel Canyon
Princess Purrball: Costume Contest under Atlas in 8.7 minutes, over 25-million in prizes!
ETA: That said, I will try to throw out some witty banter and/or smart aleck remarks when the opportunity presents itself. The other night I was in Steel Canyon and someone broadcast something like, "After all, they don't call me 'The Midnight Terror' for nothing." To which I replied, "Really? How much do they charge?" Of course, as in my example above, my response was separated from the original post by three or four "lf AE farm" type broadcasts. -
Good luck, and thank you!
Also, make sure you don't leave anything in the market that you don't want to lose. -
My map of the Rogue Isles shows a small island just off the southwest shore of Port Oakes, halfway between the two ferries. There is a little rocket drawn on this island, and the key on the post-it note attached to the map indicates that little rocket is a "Launch Site." A launch site for what?

Yes, but you have to have 3 other people to start it and go through the hunt mission first. The one on the mother ship can be suicided during a ship raid - no need to participate at all.
[/ QUOTE ] But it may be easier to get the 3 people together to start the Trial than it does to get a bunch of people together to take the pylons down.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, depending on what server you're on and whether they have regular raids. If you're on a server with regular raids, all you have to do is show up the night of the raid, wait until the shield drops and get the badge.
For the Hydra, you have to convince three other people to help you with the first step of a suicide mission which has little or no reward for them. That to me is harder, and that's why I'd say that badge is harder to get. Also, you could be a villain, in which case, it's REALLY hard to get.
I've never been on a Hamidon raid, but isn't there an exploration badge under him too? -

I only have one in Test mode, never published, that my badger runs from time to time for test mode badges.

Fiery Assault and Thorny Assault provide the best AoE damage in the earlier levels...
[/ QUOTE ]
What are earlie levels? From 1-19, Fiery Assault has one AoE attack, and it's a cone. At lvl 20 and level 28 it picks up two more that are both melee range. Do the other sets really have less low level AoE that that? -

Use the type of character you want in a CustomVillainGroup, then you wont get the ones you don't want.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm, that's interesting. I haven't played with the MA enough to realize you could do that. So I could, for example, create a custom, level 1-X group called "Disciples of Big Burning Fire Guy" and throw some Hellions, Igneous, Bat'Zul, and Outcast Torches in it, and the MA would pick which group to populate the mission with based on what level the player was? I have a feeling that's too good to be true, but it would be so, SO sweet if it was. -
The possibility of a staff member joining one of the tiny, obscur SGs/VGs I'm in is so unlikely as to be laughable. Heh. See?
Wouldn't it be funny though, if the player who got control of the VG in this thread was actually a Mod? -
I know there are groups with specific mobs that use fire, but if I put Outcasts in an MA story, I'm going to get as many Volts, Bricks and Chillers as I am Torches. Same with CoT. What I'm looking for is a fire using faction, like Hellions or Igneous.
What level? Ideally 1-54, but I'd be OK with 15-40 too since that would cover a significant range of player levels and difficulty. Is fire too uber at upper levels? Or is it not strong enough by itself and therefore has to be supplemented with other damage types to challenge players?
ETA: What is teh level range of Bat'zul? I haven't encountered them much in CoV. -
Dang, same as Hellions.
Why are there no higher level fire-based enemy factions? I need one for an MA story/arc. -
Better yet, how about some sort of icons on the doors? A steel beam or a canyon for one, a waterfall for another, and for Croatoa... the word "Croatoan" scratched roughly into the door - although that might lead people to think they were going to end up in North Carolina.
