IIRC the maximum market slots is 21.

Makes the 'true' inf cap 44 billion inf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But if you were holding 2 billion Inf and you filled all your market slots with 2 billion inf bids, yu wouldn't be able to buy anything.

Also, if you can only hold 2 billion inf on your character, how could you ever bid 2 billion inf each on a stack of 10 of anything? The market never lets me bid more for something than I have in Inf.

Hmm maybe i should get rid of my PvP IO's before i go.....

    [/ QUOTE ]

I could take them off your hands if you don't feel like messing around selling them.
  2. Even Burn and Hot Feet would make sense for such a character, they'd just be used more as defensive powers - keep mobs with high damage melee attacks away from you - than offensive.
  3. Energy/Fire might not be an ideal combo, but it certainly won't be unplayable. Almost all the blaster secondary powers are short/melee range powers, so not a lot of them are going to synergize well with a primary that knocks foes away from the blaster.

But so what? Let her blast the heck out of her foes and take a couple of secondary powers to deal with the ones who get through to her. If she doesn't have to take all the secondary powers she'll have more room in the build for pool powers.
  4. Name: Fortune's Five

Currently Recruiting: Looking for other players/SGs interested in RP.

RP Level: RP-friendly/intensive. SG chat is usually used for OOC conversations, but during missions, everyone stays in character in team chat.

    PvP Level: None established yet

Theme/Concept: Fortune's Five was established by five heroes that were seemingly brought together by fate, and who have survived numerous tough scrapes through unusually good fortune.

Activity: Currently have five active members, but despite our name, we are looking to expand. Our prime teaming time is Tuesdays at 8:30 PM ET, but we often play at 6 PM ET on Sundays as well. As more members join, we may add more team times.

Requirements for Membership: Original members of Fortune's Five are between levels 21 and 23 as of this writing (6/9/09), but we will accept members of all levels. This is an RP SG, so if you don't like to RP, this probably isn't the group for you. As mentioned above, SG chat is used for both in- and OOC communication, team chat is in-character.

Leadership: Baron von Hammer, Hand of Kismet, Samandarun, Clever's Chance, Summer-Snowe

    In-Game Contact(s): @mousedroid, @Deertayorkay

Out-of-Game Contact(s): mousedroid (will let the others add their info if they so choose)

    URL: N/A

    Coalition(s): None at the moment

Other Details: We do our best to keep the original five members pretty close together in level, and we mainly run story arcs - Hollows, Faultline, etc. During these arcs we do our best to keep each member's mission the same so everyone on the team gets the merits. We occasionally run radio missions to get the safeguard temp powers, but we concentrate more on story-driven content. Will eventually begin running TFs as members' time allows.
  5. Membership drive? Cool!

Prospective new members, please see this post for more info on Fortune's Five.

I'll see the rest of you at 8:30 PM ET tonight.

  6. I made a new, two mission arc on Sunday. I started around 10 AM and finished around 4 PM. Now I'm not that proficient at using MA to create arcs, so I had to keep testing and retesting to make sure everything was working as intended, but that's still a long time to spend on a two-mission arc.

The arc tells a story within the confines of my SG, so while it would be cool if other people played it, I wouldn't expect them to really understand all of it. Now, despite the fact that it took that long, and will probably only be played once, I am excited to use the MA again, because I think it's a really cool way to flesh out some aspects of an RP SG.

    Tickets

    From the wiki:

    [ QUOTE ]
Once an arc becomes Dev's Choice, there are no more Ticket drops, instead, you get the regular loot drops of the real game. Also, with a Dev's Choice arc, you get Influence as the mission complete bonus instead of Tickets.

    [/ QUOTE ]
  8. If she's set on Energy as the primary, I'd recommend either a controller or another blaster as a teammate, or maybe a defender.

The last ATs I'd want to play while teamed with an Energy blaster are a scrapper or tank. She will be forever knocking foes away from you.
  9. In my opinion, most things are worth doing at each level. You might just need to create several characters (or use the flashback system after lvl 25) to experience it all.

My days of peacefully sleeping in are probably over now ; )

I haven't needed an alarm clock for going on two years now. My cat Jones wakes me at precisely 5:45 AM every morning. He even has a snooze setting (he wakes me again at 6:15 if I push him off the bed at 5:45).

Very cute kitties. Enjoy their kittenhood as much as possible, because as I'm sure you know, they'll be cats in the blink of an eye.

As far as kitty toys, which it doesn't appear you're hurting for, I recommend something called the Cat Dancer. It's a long piece of springy wire with little bundles of... I don't... cardboard? at the ends. It is the only store-bought toy my cats (now 2 yrs old) will still play with. Their other favorite toys are empty cardboard boxes, balled-up sandwich wrappers from Arbys and a static duster.

  11. I've done it once and it took something like 6.5 or just under 7 hours I think, which is generally considered to be on the long side. 10 AM to 7 PM is nine hours; I think I would put my fist through my monitor if it took that long.

    A couple more questions.

Are the Nemesis Automatons that pose as real people powered by steam? Or do they use some other power source? Since they don't belch steam, and they fool so many people, I'm thinking that they don't use steam at all.

Second question, how exactly does Rikti telepathy function?

[/ QUOTE ]A really efficient steam machine wouldn't need to expel the steam, but would instead allow it to cool and condense internally and re-use the same water again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which would violate 2 of the 3 main laws of thermodynamics.

    it's how Airconditioners work ....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I'm not sure why the ambent air around the mechanism couldn't act as the heatsink.

Actually.. I'm shocked I knew something that apparently isn't very common knowledge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh. Don't assume that just because I don't know something it's not common knowledge.

I was playing on Rugged, so I probably encountered some bosses. Still not sure that's what happened though, because like I said, my end went back to full when I rested, it was just like something was sapping me, or causing all my powers to cost more end to use.

I will certainly be more wary bout future missions against the Sword now that I have this information.

    Issue 15 . . . .

I'd be surprised if Going Rogue comes out this year too, although putting a new box on the shelves prior to the holidays would be a huge boon IMO.
  15. I think I disliked Positron more. The Quaterfield TF is longer, but the Positron TF is more annoying IMO.

While I would love the merits, I don't have time this Saturday to devote to it. That and the fact that I only have one toon high enough to do it and she's done it once already. I really need to work on my other Guardian heroes.

The map location placements (front, middle, back) are often pretty messed up, depending on the map.

As for the "clue on first glowy" problem - yeah, that bugged me too. The best workaround I found was to hide the one real glowy among 7 red herrings - if you give them all the same nav text they all show up as one set of objectives in mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately (for now) the 'Clue on click of first glowie' isn't a bug; it's working as intended. Remember that what with got with the MA was basically the tools the Devs use in a nicer wrapper; and it seems the Devs to date, hadn't designed a collection mission that gave a clue at the end of a completed collection objective. It remains to be seen if they'll change the behavior (they haven't as of the I15 build that's on the Test server; but the only workaround is to write your clue to account for the fact bthat it'll be delivered on the first glowie, rather than the last.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you're saying the Devs use the trick KeepDistance recommended? Because I know I've had missions where I run arround searching numerous crates, computers etc., always getting the message, "You find nothing of interest," until I click on the 12th one or something. Seems odd they would tie their own hands like that rather than just giving the clue with the 12th of 12 glowies has been clicked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll try that. It seems to me when I did that on an earlier mission, it said something like "7 Search crates, 1 Search crates," but maybe I put one under plural nav text and one under singular.

    (Edited to add quote)
  18. Is it just me or are the object location placements out of whack? Maybe it's just on certain maps?

I wrote a story yesterday with two collection objectives. I wanted to do my best to have these object collected in a certain order, but since you can't set one collection to start after the other is completed, I decided to put the first one in the "middle" of the map and the second one at the "back."

I must have tested the mission five times, tweeking things here and there, and without fail, the "middle" object spawned on the fourth floor of the map and the "back" object spawned on the second floor. It was driving me crazy, so I swapped middle and back for them, and they spawned where I wanted them to.

I've heard that all the floors on a multifloor mission are actually on the same horizontal plane, so maybe that's what was causing this peculiarity?

And speaking of collections, is there any way to keep the clue from awarding when you click the first of say 8 glowies? If I want people to search through eight file cabinets, it kind of defeats the purpose for them to always find the info they are looking for in the first cabinet. That never happens when I'm in a mission!
  19. Never heard of the Curse of Weariness. After I cleared all the ambushes in the big rescue room, I rested, and my end slowly climbed back to full. After it wasn't as much a problem with the last one or two ambushes. If the curse caps your end at 50% until you log or "cure" it, it certainly wasn't that, but it was odd.
  20. Yeah, I read up on Dark Servant on CoHwiki, and I didn't see anything to do with End or Recvery, but I thought maybe it was bugged. If the VS do have -end/-recov attacks, it must just be the massive bum-rush as soon as you rescue Lady Grey that does it.
  21. I've run this mission twice in the past week and I noticed something odd both times I ran it - right around the time I rescued Lady Grey and pretty much for the rest of the mission, my endurance and recovery seemed to bottom out.

Both toons have Stamina, and one also has Quick Recovery. For the toon with QR, I never have end problems, even with all my toggles running, unless I'm facing a sapper or something. I don't know that the Vanguard Swords' powers include -End/-Recovery because this is the only mission that causes this problem. Is it possible Lady Grey's Dark Servant is somehow adversely affecting me?
  22. The way I learned to keep it straight is to think about a lizard regrowing, or regenerating, a body part - i.e. healing, thus regen = HP.

    Funny Stuff

Do the NPCs watching TV change from time to time? When I ran some TV missions on Saturday I could swear the Crey woman sitting on the ground with her legs crossed was wearing a skirt.

    So frustrating

Thanks for all the replies and the suggestions. Yes, this is a mind/fire dom, and Power Surge is the next toy on my shopping list.

I hadn't tried Confusing the EBs, but I can try that next. I am hoping the I15 buffs will help me out. What's funny is, until I hit the early-mid 40s, I used to solo on Vicious because Villainous was too easy. I miss those days.
