I would like to be included too, please.

Consider too that the issue of reasonableness varies from AT to AT with regard to some badges.
For example, if my main badge toon is a Corruptor with Pain Domination, or a Defender with Empathy, earning the first healing badge is probably not going to be too hard. However, my main badge toons are a Dominator and a Scrapper, neither of who have room in their builds for Aid Other. So earning that first healing badge would take some serious, and seriously tedious effort on my part. I have resigned myself to probably never having that badge on those toons, but that doesn't mean the badge is broken, or needs to be fixed, it's just that every badge isn't necessarily intended for every toon. I would never want them to change the criteria for the first healing badge to "Heal one ally," or "Heal allies for 100 points of damage," because then it becomes next to worthless. -
[ QUOTE ]
It does bother me that the Devs decided that it'd better for the game to just slash-n-burn these badges rather than to spend the time trying to rework the requirements to save them. As others have pointed out it sets a bad precedent for the future. If the Devs had the stomach to axe this many badges what would stop them from removing ANY other badge from now on for any pretense?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would think the fact that badges they removed had such a short history of existence made it easier for them to justify pulling them out of the game. I just honestly cannot see them applying this same logic to badges that have been around for years and for which people worked really hard to earn. Lessening the requirements ala Zookeeper - e.g. changing Illusionist from 500 to 100 - I could see, but pulling a badge like Illusionist, Empath, or anything else that is hard to get, but which has been around for ages, just isn't the same as pulling back badges that have been in the game for a few weeks (as of the time of the announcement).
So while I'm not worried about this setting a precedent for the Devs removing any other existing badges, I am concerned about what precedent it (and the new Arena badges) may be setting for future badges.
There's a reason collectors like things like rare coins and stamps, autographed trading cards, and variant cover comics - they are things that you can't just get by "falling out of bed," so getting them feels like something of an accomplishment. Removal of badges won't necessarily kill my interest in the badge-hunting minigame, but removal of any reasonable effort to earn a badge will. -

I use an auto feeder too, and in addition to the dry food they get from it, I give them each a small (4 oz?) can of wet food every 3-4 days as a treat. They also have a water fountain to drink from to ensure they get enough water. The autofeeder still doesn't stop Jones from hovering around me while I eat - even though I never give him people food.
Willow is super picky and will only eat canned food that is as close as possible to people food - in fact she LOVES baby food, but doesn't get that very often. Normally she gets... gah, I can't remember the name, but they are small cans that come in a box of four and have flavors like Chicken Pot Pie and Chinese Chicken dinner. They smell like something I'd eat, but I have never been tempted to try any. Jones is not as picky, but he mainly gets the chicken and turkey varieties Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys. I have heard that feeding cats too much seafood (tuna, salmon, etc.) can lead to urinary tract problems, so they very rarely get a seafood treat.
As for litter, I tried to be good and use World's Best, mainly because it's flushable and environmentally friendly, but also for the health of the kitties,. But I had to switch back to Fresh Step when Willow got a UTI and decided she'd rather pee on the carpet than in the World's Best.At least I have found biodegradable bags to use.

Also, if you we're available last night and you have a chance before the next time we get together, please run through the MA Arc titled, The Search for Samandarun. Make sure you read all the mission text, and clues, and as much dialogue as you can - it's all important to the story.
And please rate it when you're done. -

If you have a freespec and a trial respec and you respec, which one is used first?
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty sure there are two different mechanics to these. For a freespec, you just type /respec in the chat window, but for an earned respec (or vet respec), you have to go visit a contact I believe. -
I was planning to play tonight. I could play tomorrow night instead. Whichever night allows the larger number of the team to get together is preferable to me.
I'll be on at 8:30 ET. -

My vet endorses Science Diet pet food, which is crap, so I'm not really surprised by a lot of things some vets recommend. I always do my own research on an issue before agreeing to anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then get a new vet if you don't trust his approach to things.
[/ QUOTE ]
I trust my vet on medical issues because I've researched their recommendations and found them to be sound. I just think they push Science Diet because 1) It's a little better for animals than Friskies or Alpo or the like, but it's still affordable, and 2) they probably get some sort of advertising revenue from the makers of Science Diet.
My inside cats get EVO, Castor and Pollux Natural Ultramix, or Innova.
My feral cat does get Friskies dry and canned food because she is extremely picky and won't eat the healthy stuff. I figure getting some Friskies in her diet is less unhealthy than having her live off of whatever she can kill or find in someone's garbage. -
My mistake.
Either way you end up with more inf by doing a respec than by not, and this is probably part of the reason freespecs don't stack. -

[ QUOTE ]
Cause if you are like me and you are pleased with your character that you have been working slowly on for the past 3 years, you woild now have about 15 freespecs.
Which I could then use to get lotsa money by selling back my enhancments. Not like I need the money, but I could...
[/ QUOTE ]I'm failing to see how that would work. Once you sell back your enhancements, you have none. You could respec again, but you'd have no enhancements to sell back the second time. Unless you bought new ones, but that just would lead to buying and reselling the same ones again. No profit that I can see.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your toon is at 27 and you outfit it with lvl 30 SOs. You play through to level 32 with those SOs which are now yellow and on the brink of turning red. You...
1) Buy level 35 SOs or level 35 IOs and replace all your level 30 SOs. This costs you X-inf.
Or,
2) You respec and pull out your 10 most valuable level 30 SO (damage and accuracy, I believe) and you either sell them on the market, or just sell them back at stores. Then you buy all your new SO or IO enhancements like you did in option 1. This costs X-infl minus the price of what you sell those 10 enhancements for.
You might not turn a profit, but you'll certainly have more in your pocket using option 2 rather than option 1.
This also helps if you are planning to delete a character and want to x-fer as much inf as possible to another toon. -
Hmmmm, I hadn't thought of that. I guess I can try changing it to the "stunned" animation instead and see if that helps.

In a mission I'm working on, I have the players rescue a tortured captive and escort them to the door. When they get to the door, the captive is so thankful that they collapse with exhaustion, but the mission isn't over, because the captors really want their captive back, so they ambush you. Unfortunately, the ambush causes the supposedly unconscious captive to spring back to his feet, even though he won't fight.
In these circumstances, is there any way to keep the rescued captive from jumping back up? I have already resigned myself to the fact that I can't make him stumble slowly behind you like he should on the way out, but it looks kind of silly for him to say, "Oh, th-thank you so muuuuch..." and pass out, only to jump right back up and be fully alert when the ambushers come running down the hall. -

How would XP removal strip ratings griefing?
*
OTHER than by turning the MA into a ghost town?
[/ QUOTE ]
To be blunt and to the point, if a story-arc is rated, even in part, for it's rewards rather than story-telling and design, then the system missed its mark, at least as far as I'm concerned. So yes, I'd rather see a ghost-town with a few honest story-telling efforts at first, and perhaps have the Devs restore rewards to MA story-arcs once the Devs have figured out how to balance the nightmare.
Even though that's my opinion, I know for sure that this won't happen. No Rewards for AE content is how things SHOULD have started, not how they should end.
[/ QUOTE ]
To be blunt and to the point, MA would've been a colossal failure and a tremendous waste of time and resources if it had been released with no rewards for player-generated content. -

Is the inclusion of Virtual Victor twice a simple oversight, or should one of those be a different badge? -
Yeah, prior to i15, the spawn points on many of my missions were out of order and I had to swap "Middle" and "Back" to get things to spawn where I wanted them. Hopefully they haven't fixed that, otehrwise I'll have to edit those missions yet again.

Program crashes every time I click on the "My Creations" tab in MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
Go into your "Missions" folder inside your COH directory. Create a new folder (call it "old missions" or something.) Move your current missions into it. Something in one of the old missions is causing the crash.
This happened during the MA beta with all the various updates and such, as well.
Add the missions back in, one at a time, until you find which one is causing it to crash - then just leave that mission out.
(It hit me, too. Fortunately, they were *older* missions, not the ones I was working on.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the tip, it worked. Fortunately it appears the problem wasn't with my published arc, or my finished but unpublished arc, which was a huge relief. I still need to retest both to make sure the changes to MA haven't screwed anything up in them though.
And speaking of testing MArcs - when I enter the MA mission stream in test mode, I get the message "Mission Completed."
It scared me at first, but everything worked fine in the first mission, so it seems like it's just a minor bug. -

Only games that allow for player made content outside of the intended scope are flawed, which was my position in the first place, which you failed to see for a second time while incorrectly citing my position...
[/ QUOTE ]
Explain to me then how my statement, "The game included a mechanism that allowed people to cheat, so rather than play it the way it was intended, and maybe enjoy it, you got rid of it," is incorrectly citing your position.
I have never played Neverwinter Nights, so I don't know if they removed all developer generated content and you were FORCED to make your own content to play the game, and further you were forced to cheat when making your own game content. If that's the case then, yes, I misunderstood your position. However, if you gave up on the game because it allowed cheating, but didn't require it, and it was possible to play the game without cheating, then I think my statement was on the money.
If you didn't like the game, regardless of the ability for players to generate their own content, then that's one thing, but you seemed to indicate that the ability to cheat is why you gave up on the game.
I guess you'd never play a pen-and-paper game like Dungeons and Dragons either since it allows players to create their own adventures, huh? The best-selling RPG of all time and likely the reason games like WoW, EQ and even CoX exist in the first place, but it is fatally flawed because it allows players to create their own content.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your assumptions on why I got rid of the game are just your own. You aren't paying attention to what I say or how I say it. You are needlessly arguing assumptions and claims I haven't stated and refusing to acknowledge what I say as I explain it. Therefore you no longer get any acknowledgement of anything you say from this point on.

It was going to come out today, but people insisted that Jay change the Science jackets to 2-toned, so it's been pushed back to October.
