Have we set a date to start yet? I have to confess, I was getting a little antsy waiting for this to kick-off, so I logged into Shenaniguns on St. Patrick's Day, and, well... she's level 7 now.
-
Don't forget the Cabal. I always feel vaguely guilty fighting them because it's kind of like punching misguided teenage girls in the face.
-
I'd love to see this applied to shields too, probably even moreso than capes.

Quote:See for almost all my toons I HATE the fire breath power, and I would love an option to change that to a cone of fire projected from the forehead or eyes. I can't explain why that would be cooler than fire breath tome, it just would. Also, I want the ability to replace the various fire swords with just flame-wrapped fists.I know there are powers that launch from the eyes. Really, the only place you see that is Radiation blast. That's why I think it is conceptually fitting to have 1-2 more attacks within that set to also shoot from the eyes.
Same goes for fire, since you've got Breath of Fire, it'd be easy to make a 'dragon' or 'fire breather' if you changed the basic tier 1 and 2 attacks (and perhaps fireball) into a mouth attack. No need for other emanation points for that set because the others would make little sense and only widen the conceptual disparity of this set. What I mean is:
Fire Blast Set:
1. Fire Blast (hands or mouth)
2. Flares (hands or mouth)
3. Fireball (hands or mouth)
4. Rain of Fire (hands)
5. Fire Breath (mouth)
6. Blaze (hands)
7. Blazing bolt (hands)
8. Inferno (body)
Notice that the suggestion revolves around hands and mouth animations. Also notice, there are powers without alternate animations. Also notice that some of those without alternate animations wouldn't make sense to come from anywhere else (Rain of Fire and Fire Breath). Adding eye, chest and body to the mix would just make the set look more unfocused.
Lastly, simply making them emanate from some specified point with simplified animation would result in the travesty that is CO. I have nothing against their game but alot of the animations just look...lazy and boring because eye, chest and hand animations are basically the same. I don't want that. -
Quote:As I understand it, the color green on the Irish flag represents the Catholic faith (orange is for the Protestant faith and white is the uniting influence of God), and since St. Patrick was more than likely Catholic, green represents the Irish folk whose patron he is.This is one of the stupidest "holidays" ever. Most of us aren't Irish. Most of us neither know, nor care, who Patrick was, or why he is a Saint. And the color green has nothing to do with anything.
Frankly, I think it was created because March didn't have any Holidays.
P.S. - Corned Beef and Cabbage is NOT an Irish tradition. It's an American creation.
Also, St. Patrick's Day is no more stupid than St. Valentine's Day. I'll bet more folks could tell you something about St. Patrick than could tell you a single thing about St. Valentine, if there even WAS a St. Valentine. -
Bacon? I missed the bacon. Damn Hamidon Raid!

Quote:I for one was torn on this, and I REALLY need to do more Rikti Raids. But I figured this was the rarer event, and it's about the only time I play one of my two tanks, so I skipped the Dream Team raid once again.I'm surprised that you got anyone to show at all. Tuesdays are standard Dream Team RWZ Raids. Congratulations!!
I had fun despite my untankerly habit of constantly dying. However, Pittsburgh is now level 22, so I can slot SOs or lvl 25 IOs in stamina and I can also pick up Consume, and that should make running my toggles a little more managable.
Looking forward to TT's next visit to Guardian. -

Keep in mind if you ever exemp below the level of the enhancement you'll experience diminishing returns.
Set IOs are the way to go. -
Quote:Is this really true? The catch 22 of Set IOs to me has always been that set IOs enhance more than one aspect of a power at a lower percentage than an equal level basic IO. So is it really correct to say that slotting a six piece set of lvl 35 IOs into a power gives ≥ accuracy, damage, and end redux than say slotting two lvl 35 SOs, or two lvl 30 basic IOs of each? Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I explained my intent properly. Just to clarify, say I am at 32, I can slot my attacks with 35 IO Sets, and it be equivalent or better than SO's or generic IO's as far as acc, dam, end redux, and also benefit from the set bonuses?
You get the set bonuses with the set IOs of course, but do you really get better acc, dam and end redux? -
Yeah, I'd go see it.
The thing that would disappoint me the most about a CoH movie would be if they didn't use any of the game music in it. Not all of it would fit of course, but a CoH movie without the Atlas Park theme, for example, would be like a Star Wars movie without an opening crawl. -
Quote:I think this Friday is OK with me, but I'm not going to commit to playing every Friday.I'm Going with Tuesday(Next) or Friday
6:30 pm till 9:00 pm
any objections?
Next Tuesday works too, even though EVERYTHING seems to take place on Tuesdays. Though if we're done at 9 PM ET, I can still hop over to Guardian for a Rikti Raid or two. -
- War Mace/Empathy or Empathy/War Mace... whatever... Tank? Defender? Controller?
- Super Strength/whatever Scrapper.
- Illusion control/Psi Dominator. -
Seems like EVERYTHING happens at the same time - Virtue Hami Raids at 8PM and Guardian Mothership Raids at 9PM also. At least I can TiVo Lost.
I guess since Tanker Tuesday on Guardian is not an every week event, I can pass on the other stuff in favor of this, this week. Pittsburgh will be there. -
Anyone ever try to RP a claustrophobic? Not necessarily so bad that they won't go into caves, but bad enough that they won't get on elevators? I think this would be ultimately unplayable, but I'm curious if anyone has ever tried.

I wrote back to EMpulse, and this was her response:
Quote:Im assuming it is fine as it isnt listed on their website as a no-no and Jillians has not mentioned anything to us about it. Plus, I am assuming that even though we will be providing bags for merchandise, some people will want to bring backpacks to put their loot in. So, Im going to assume its okay! -
Edited because the post above just makes my whole point meaningless.
If what is posted above is true, well... good luck in life - you have a lot more to worry about than how the market works in a pretend world online. -
I got my reply at 2:08 AM ET this morning, which was 11:08 PM PT last night. I would say that these were just a form e-mail reply, but mine was different from the one BlackSun17 got - for example, mine didn't mention the bar's dress code. Which makes me wonder if EMPulse was sending these out one at a time and semi-personalizing each of them? Late at night, on a weekend, to boot!
Thanks for posting the dress code, Blacksun.
To any Community Relations folks that might be reading this - do you know if it's OK for patrons to bring in backpacks? Like if someone was to head there right from the convention? -
The place I found the most regularly spawn mob bosses was the northeast neighborhood in St. Martial. I forget what it is called. There is a building there, near the beach, around which bosses seemed to spawn with enough regularity that you could kill... I want to say 30-40 an hour? Not sure though, it's been a while.

Yeah, Rose sounds like a perfect fit for the mostly young mutants of The Gold Corp.
-
You can play Bingo in WoW? I'll bet that's why my Aunt Ruth has started playing!
-
Yep, I'm still in. Just let me know the when and the where.
-
I didn't get an "Undeliverable" message, but I never heard back from them either. Not that I expected to.

Quote:If I enter a costume contest and I don't win, I don't lose anything. Even if, as some people claim, the judges are in league with a few of the contestants, no one loses anything except the 5-30 minutes of playing time they wasted standing around under the Atlas statue or wherever. That's why you don't see costume contests with entry fees. And that's all valid. I guess. But, does it break any rules to do this?
I'm thinking "no."
Sure, there's a possibility for sleazy underhanded ******** dealings, but the same has happened in costume contests and other contests that have taken place. It really just boils down to who's willing to take the risk and who ain't.
If you don't gamble, don't go to the casino. It's that simple.
If I bet on a PvP match and the person I bet on loses, I lose whatever I bet. And since this isn't like the NFL or NCAA where there are rules against cheating, and severe, real world penalties for throwing a game, I have no idea whether I lost my money fairly, or the match was thrown because the contestants were in league with some of the bettors. That is the biggest issue and I guarantee it would lead to nothing but problems. Bad, bad idea IMO. -
I won't be entering either, because if I won I'd have to change my non-refundable plane ticket and that'd probably end up costing me more than a pass to the show would have on the secondary market. That's OK though. I just hope they do something like this for SDCC.
The 4-day, Friday, and Saturday passes to SDCC were all sold out before I realized it, and now I can only get in on Thursday and Sunday and I'm flying the whole way across the country for that.
