Quote:Yeah, that isn't something I really thought about until now, but if all the characters are PPD, they would probably have a pseudo-militaristic chain-of-command mindset, probably moreso than normal cops given what they face on a daily basis in PC. And as a result, they'd each probably be willing to step into the leadship role if the situation, and/or the safety of the team, required it.Shenaniguns did just fine in the leadership role. Sam wouldn't presume to take control of the team, especially since she's technically still a rookie cop.
Since Agent Ethan assembled the team in the first place, and presumably has more senority than Shannon, who's been on the force five years, she's willing to follow his lead. She'd also being just as willing to follow Kane or Sam as the situation dictates. And despite her seldom-serious nature, she is willing to take the lead if she has to (which is a departure for me, since I don't normally enjoy leading teams). -
I don't want to commit to a regular Friday or Saturday playtime, especially with summer coming, but I'm usually home Sunday nights, so that would work for me. But I'm also fine with keeping it on Tuesdays.

Hope you have better luck next week, Prem. Your absence last night gave Shannon a taste of power. Hopefully it won't go to her head.

For Christmas last year an in-game friend sent me a coffee mug that says, "I am a Superhero cleverly disguised as an Engineer." It is my daily reminder of CoH. If only we had an Engineer day job.

See you then.

Can't you set permissions so that she can't spend prestige? I didn't know anyone in an SG could spend the SG's prestige on whatever they wanted.
I don't know what this person is like, but if she has the permissions and she's a resentful person, there's a chance she could clean out your base and/or spend all your prestige on dumb stuff now that you've scolded her. -
Couldn't they just make the Tiki lounge an instanced map and leave the dance club a... non-instanced map?
-
how do you obtain the accolade?
Earn the Broker, Inspiring, Scrounger, Enhancer, Vendor, Salesperson, Tradesperson, Merchant, Peddler, and Retailer badges (or their Redside equivalents).
how long is the recharge on the accolade?
30 minutes.
and how long will this screen stay up?
Two minutes unless you close it sooner. And it is only usable by you, not by teammates or other nearby players. -
Quote:Well that would certainly work if you had a SG base, but if you didn't...We don't need this, look at the thread that has NPC's in SG bases, that's what we need.
Not to mention, if the objection to this by some people is the amount of programming time it would take to implement it, I would think the SG base NPCs would require even more resources to implement. -
Quote:Thanks, that was insulting.there are more then enough ways to get around. your whining about taking a few mins out of your day to craft something is just that, a whine.
It makes no less sense to me than the Field Fabricator badge/accolade, but the Devs saw fit to incorporate that. -
Noooo! If you get rid of the purse-snatchers, you get rid of the whole reason for one of my favorite villains to exist...

How exactly do you conjure a workbench out of thin air? How exactly does my tights-wearing superhero/villain lug around 153 lbs of silver, gold, iron, steel, platinum, etc. when s/he doesn't have any pockets?
I know there is a day power job for teleporting to WW or the BM, unfortunately if you're in one of the many zones that don't have one, there is no way to TP back to where you were.
Assuming it does only take five seconds to run from the BM/WW to one of the crafting stations in the three zones you mentioned (which I would probably at least double or triple), those five seconds add up when
A) You make the round trip multiple times because you didn't realize that those three Human Blood Samples in your non-existant pocket are used in five of the recipies you wanted to craft.
B) You need another lvl 30 Heal recipe, but you can't remember what they were selling for in WW, or if there were even any for sale.
And if you're not in one of those zones to begin with, then you have to travel to one of those zones.
Not to mention if you're in St. Martial at the magic store and you want to check on what a piece of salvage is selling for at the BM before you sell it at the store for 250/1000/5000 inf. -
We have Accolades for portable work benches and portable MA interfaces, why not ones for Wentworths and the Black Market? Seems like this would be pretty easy to implement since we already have Market badges - just combine a bunch of them into a new accolade.
Heroside the Accolade would cause a laptop to appear in front of you allowing you access to a website that would basically be the WW interface. Villainside, you'd be granted a special phone number to call to place an order or offer up an item to sell through your black market contacts.
A couple of issues this could ease/solve:
- Crowd-related lag at the "brick and mortar" WW/BM locations.
- The ability to throw some items into open market slots in the middle of a mission to avoid trying to guess what salvage/recipe/enhancement to delete because you forgot to stop at the consignment shop on your way to the mission.
- The ability to buy some more inspirations in the middle of a particularly hairy TF/SF.
- If you have the portable workbench, the ability to purchase and craft IOs on the fly for yourself or a teammate.
- The time sink involved with running back and forth between even the closest consignment shops and fabrication facilities if you don't yet have the portable work bench.
I would imagine this has been suggested before, and since we don't yet have such a feature, there may be some drawbacks to the idea, but offhand I can't think of any. -
Any chance we could get the door to the Tiki Lounge recoded so that it works like the Base Teleporters? In other words, when you pop into Pocket D using the VIP teleport power, you can exit the door through which you entered to return to the zone from which you teleported.

OK, first off, I have to admit to not reading all 11 pages of this thread, so I'm sorry if this question was already asked.
I just made a redside hero today, and I want to RP her as much as a hero as I can, therefore I plan to avoid fighting Longbow and other heroic organizations. My question is, given the way the redside game mechanics work, is it possible to advance in the game without doing mayhem missions? If I just let them time out and fail them all, my brokers will still introduce me to new contacts, right? -
If I get tired of a character and decided to delete it, yes, I spend my last few merits on large inspirations, sell them and pass the money on to a different toon before I delete the one I'm tired of.
-
If I had War Witch's job and unlimited resources, I would probably end up breaking this game beyond any reasonable hope of repair.

Quote:Ewok is easy, "Congratulations," like everything else in their language, is, "Nyub-yub."I think I'm gonna start saying "congrats" in different languages, just to throw people off.
Better brush up on my Ewok, Klingon, Vulcan, and Catgirl.
There is no expression of congratulations in Klingon. In fact, in the Klingon version of CoX, any toon that doesn't level during a mission is summarily killed at the end of that mission. It's the best selling MMO in the Empire.
Vulcans only gain a level every seven years and the Ceremony of Congratulations takes longer, and is more excrutiating, than a team of level 10 Ill/Empathy Controllers running a Positron TF.
In Catgirl, "Congrats" is unspoken. You need a special emote that consists of rubbing your cheek on the shin bone of the person you are congratulating while simultaneously purring. The only way to get this emote is to complete the super secret Mynx Task Force that is unlocked by getting a catgirl of every blueside AT and EAT to 50. -
Quote:Without "gratz!" there are many PUGs I've assisted that I'd swear were completely composed of mimes and mutes.
I'm not a real proficient typist, so when I'm playing, particularly when I'm playing a support toon, I have two choices - play or chat. When I chat, there's a chance people will die because by the time I type out a simple sentence I'm like two spawns behind the rest of the team.
Quote:The only thing that perplexes me are the people on teams who will drop everything, even while in the middle of a fight, to say it.
To the OP, if you don't like all the gratz, join a hardcore RP team. I say hardcore because some RP teams will still type out "((gratz))" or "OOC: gratz", which would likely drive you even more nuts (heh-heh), but hardcore RPers don't type anything OOC, so the gratz are likely to be non-existant. -
My ongoing and slowly progressing "Projects"
1) Blueside badging (currently at 365).
1a) Get Field Fabricator on Blueside badge toon (currently at 26.34%).
2) Redside badging (currently at 330).
2a) Get Field Fabricator on Redside badge toon (currently at 49.06%).
3) Get an AT of every type to 50 (currently at 2: Scrapper and Dominator).
4) And the one I am least likely to achieve and most likely to get flamed for: Get rid of all the funky punctuation and intentional misspellings in my toons names by managing to get the names I actually wanted for them (current success rate: 0.0%). -
Well, that explains it then. Wonder what the reasoning was behind that.
-
Weird, I just checked and the option exists for my level 50 Dom, but not for my level 5 Dom. Is it maybe level-locked or something?
-
Did the Devs recently eliminate the ability for players to buy large inspirations from Merit Vendors for 1 Merit each, or am I missing something?
Seems to me I could do this as little as a couple weeks ago, but this morning I tried to and the option wasn't there. I read through the patch notes back to the beginning of March, but I didn't see anything about this. -
He's aware.
