Yoo-hoo, anybody out there?
-
-
As far as I know, we have four regular members, so there is room for four more.
Our regular day/time is Tuesday from 6:30-8:30/9:00 PM Eastern Time (4:30-6:30 MT or 3:30-5:30 PT). -
I think Shenaniguns is the highest level and she's only 11, so catching up shouldn't be a problem.
-
Thanks from me too, Blood_Beret. I really appreciate you taking the initiative to pull this together. And thanks to everyone else who participated too.
Now I have to see if maybe I can get something like this going on Virtue so my redside badger can get these. -
I'll be there.
-
Only move I made was to take a single scrapper from Guardian to Virtue where he will have more opportunity for RP.
I also started a second account and used that to transfer some influence from Guardian to Virtue and some infamy from Virtue to Guardian, but those aren't toons I play otherwise. -
My blueside badge toon is a Scrapper and doesn't have any PvP badges, and I don't know anything about PvP tournies, but I'm free tonight, so I'd be willing to participate in any of these events.
Toon is Erin Brand, a lvl 50 BS/WP scrapper. -
I know the Devs aren't likely to ever go back and tweak existing Vet Rewards, but I think a partial solution would be to give players a power around 18-14 months that grants you a contact's cell phone number immediately.

How about this - the sky darkens to night and searchlights spring up throughout the zone? Not that realistic for it to instantly become night, but honestly, who would attack using black zeppelins in broad daylight?
-
Showed up in the D last night and hung out by DJ Zero from like 10:02 - 10:20 PM ET. Sorry if I missed you, Mercator.

There should be another piece of advice that says,
"If you're patrolling in a zone that's close to your level, don't fight near police drones, because the wonky AI of street mobs practially guarantees that as soon as you get them down to 5-10% of their HP, they will flee directly into the line of fire of the drone and you'll get bupkiss." -
Crud. Going by the dates of your posts I was thinking the regular raids were on Thursday night, but now that I pay attention to what I'm reading, I see they are on Wednesday nights.

IMO the only BAD thing about Ninja Run are the stances - both the running position and the standing still position. I still use the power because it is awesome, but I feel personally embarassed every time I do because the running animation and idle stances look so stupid.
MY suggestion? Give me an opportunity to use a "Beast Run" animation and "Beast Crouch" stance with this power and I would be about 75% less displeased. Give me the power to also use a normal run animation and normal idle stance and I will be 100% pleased. -
OP,
Move to the Rogue Isles; everything sells for more there. -
Worst Freedom Phalanx makeover ever.
Sister Psyche looks so manish. Bleh. -
Historically the "summer" 2xXP weekend occurs like a week before the San Diego Comicon, which is July 22 - 25 this year.
But, as all those investment scams disclaim - past results are no guarantee of future performance. -
I have a lvl 50 villain who still has the Snaptooth mission available. I don't know if she will be able to run it more than once, but I'll be in the D around 10 PM ET if you want to run it at least once.
My toon's name is The Waitress.. -
My night was not as productive. I keep forgetting when the regular raid times are on various servers, so I missed doing any redside Hami raids on Virtue last night. I did get in two mothership raids on Guardian, but thanks to some weird glitch, I stopped earning merits, Inf, Prestige, etc. about halfway through the second raid.
ETA: I got a free lobster dinner though, so that was a plus. -
Question - is the start time still 9:30 ET?

When I started playing I knew nothing about CoH other than what I read on the box. I had never played a minute of an MMO before I bought CoH and I knew no one else who played. And in fact, when I bought CoH, I wasn't sure I wanted to play it, ESPECIALLY if it cost me $15 a month to play on top of the $30 for the game! All I really wanted was the ability to make cool super hero costumes.
Because of the above, I waited almost three years before I finally buckled and bought the game. When I signed up, I figured I'd try it for a month and quit if it sucked. The day I installed it, I sat down and played for 12 hours straight.
I can't speak for anyone's financial situation, especially someone in a foreign country (although from what I saw when I was in Singapore 10 years ago, it was a pretty afluent country), so I can't say he should just bite the bullet and buy the game. But the simple fact of the matter is, he's not going to know if he likes the game until he tries it, and if he doesn't like it the way it is today, it's doubtful the Ultramode and GR updates are going to be enough to change his mind. The game will look prettier when those updates arrive, but they won't significantly change the experience of playing a character. -
I too usually pick powers based on a concept. Sometimes this is a problem, especially in the case of fire powers. Just because my character can generate massive internal temperatures doesn't mean he or she can breathe fire or form swords out of fire. I am hoping one day we will get even more power customization so that we can better make the look of our powers fit our character concepts.
Usually I come up with an idea ("Hey, I need a giant robot character!") and then choose power sets to go with it. Sometimes though I decide I want to try a new power set before I come up with a concept, but usually it's the other way around.
Travel powers and other pool powers I usually base on concept too. Most of my psychic or power armor characters can fly through the use of telekinesis or antigravity technology respectively. If the character is to be super strong, they usually get super leap. If they are a time manipulator, they get teleport. If they have no reason for having a super travel power, they just stick with sprint and Ninja Run.
Oh and another thing - sometimes I pick powers based on how much teaming I expect to do. For example, I have a toon with mind control who I recently respeced out of Mass Hypnosis because I only run the toon with a static team, and the power was virtually worthless since someone's AoE power would wake all the sleepers as soon as I cast it. If I ran the toon solo, that power would be invaluable. -
Woo-hoo, free dinner!
I'll be home later than our normal start time, and could team up for a bit later on tonight, but I guess that might not work for Mutant_Dream what with the early getin' up schedule. -
Shannon just got a new bottle of gun polish and she's still on a sugar high from all that easter chocolate, so she's ready and raring to bust some perps tonight.
ETA: If for whatever reason we aren't getting together tonight, please let me know. I just found out about a business dinner tonight. It's not mandatory, and I don't mind skipping it, but I don't want to miss out on a free meal if we're not on for tonight.
