I think we're in the low to mid teens for level, and it looks like we have at least one opening now. The only requirements are to have a PPD-based toon and to RP.

    Oooo, good info, thanks!
  3. What if, instead of running, when all but a few mobs on a map were defeated, the last few stragglers surrendered? That would be particularly realistic in Paragon City, but maybe not so much in the Rogue Isles.

Of course there would be the issue of XP - since the mob is no longer a threat to you, you technically wouldn't gain any XP. I suspect something like this might play into the "moral choices" aspect of GR - if you accept the enemy's surrender, your morality bar moves towards the blueside; if you strike them down while they're helpless, your morality bar moves towards the redside.
  4. I need the RV time spent badge as well, so maybe I'll try hunting them there next.

I never found (m)any in the RWZ and I knew the ones outdoors in Warburg didn't count, which is a shame since other than Grandville that's where they're most plentiful in the game.

Oops, my mistake. Thanks for the clarification.
  6. After finally using the new interface a bit this weekend I don't have as many complaints as I intially did. My main complaints are:

    1) It is clunky and unattractive. I don't like all the clicking around I have to do to see my various slots. I also don't like the fact that you can't contract something once you've expanded it - hopefully this is just a bug they are working on fixing.

    2) The thing I HATE about this new interface is that if I bid on multiples of something and the market only partially fills my order, I lose a market slot until either I pull the purchased items out, or the bid fills completely. Maybe this was done intentionally to keep people from storing so many things on the market, or maybe it's not as big a deal to others as it is to me, but all other things aside, I'd like to see at least this feature rolled back to the way it used to work.
  7. OK, I have a question regarding what this thread is all about. I ran this mission when it first came out and at the end, after defeating Protean I...

    *****SPOILERS Below*****

...found my duplicate laying dying among a group of other dead duplicates of me. He told me to get out while I could and something elese heroic I can't recall, and shortly thereafter I was forcably zoned back to Talos. Did I miss anything, or is this the way the mission is supposed to end?

    *****End SPOILERS*****

Any answers would be appreciated. Also, what is that one power that Protean uses? Is that available to PCs, and if so, in which powerset(s)?
  8. Are there any locations that reliable and at least regularly, if not frequently, spawn Toxic Tarantulas for heroes? I used to be able to find a few in Sirens Call every play session, but lately I'm lucky to find one for every 45 minutes or so I'm in there. And now that I'm almost done with my Warrior bosses badge, I will not be needing to visit Sirens regularly in the future.

    Thanks for any suggestions.
  9. Blueside: Scrappers (followed by Blasters)

Redside: Dominators (though to be fair, I haven't played many Brutes, so I may like those better if I played them more.)

I was getting salvage and inspiration drops just no PVP drops. What's up?

Either bad luck on your part, or good luck on mine, because my PvP IO drop rate this week equated to roughly 1 per 40.

No worries. Fortunately Shannon has a extremely high metabolism, so she burns through the donut calories before they find their way to her hips. She also secretly brushes her teeth between missions to prevent cavities and gingivitis.

  13. In my experience infamy is easier to come by if you are a seller because everything costs more on the red side. My redside 50 has about 4 times as much infamy as my blueside 50 has influence.
  14. I don't want my outside stuff to make things difficult for anyone else, and I should be finished with my PvP badging by next week, so I think Shannon just found out from her captain that she has to attend a Law Enforcement Conference in Orlando this week.
  15. I'm trying to get some PvP badges and I'm scheduling that around Blue Shield and the Gold Corp until I'm done, so if we are going to push back the start time from 6:30, I'd like to push it all the way back to 9:00 if possible.

If that doesn't work for folks, I understand, but I'm trying to schedule 2 hour blocks of time to work on the badges. I'd rather not tell the guy I'm working with that we can play from 7:00-8:00, then quit, then play from 10:00-11:00 again. If it wasn't for the rep degradation factor, I'd just skip PvP altogether tonight, but every day we skip is another three kills we have to make up the next night.

  18. At least the OP spelled "off" correctly.
  19. IIRC when I ran the new Posi TF this weekend, everyone on the team also got a jet pack temp travel power with a 1 hr usage timer on it in one of the missions in the first half.

I teamed with a Catgirl in Sharkhead this weekend. She kept pestering me about whether I liked Jersey Girl and whether I thought Zack and Miri Make a Porno was funnier than Chasing Amy. At the time I just found it annoying, but now I wonder...

Not sure if it's true or not, of course. May just be rumor, but my comprehension of the EULA leads me to believe it's a possibility.
I spoke to a prominant comic book artist at San Diego two years ago and he said he and his wife (also a comic book artist) used to play. They created and played toons based on their own trademarked characters and got to be such good friends with some other players that they wanted to use some of those players' characters in their comic books. They contacted NCSoft about it to keep everything on the up and up, and they were told that not only were they not allowed to use CoX-originated characters in their comics, but they were not allowed to play their own characters in CoX even if they could prove ownership of the characters.

He said he understood NCSoft saying no to the use of COX-originated characters, but being told they had to delete their own characters or have them generic'd left such a bad taste in their mouths that the left the game. And that's not rumor, it is straight from the guys mouth, so I'd be curious to know whether Mr. Butcher had a different experience.

    Email woahs

Well, when I saw all my e-mails missing, I thought to myself, "Whoa, wait a minute! Where are my e-mails?"

So maybe "Email woahs" is not completely inaccurate.

    Email woahs

Just noticed this myself. With the Auction houses down I was using e-mail to store some recipies until they get them fixed. I hddn't e-mailed anything overly expensive either, but if I find out I'm out 12-13 recipies I'm still not going to be very happy.
  24. Erin Brand - Irish-American BS/WP scrapper whose name means "Sword of Ireland."

Thundershaft - Native American Storm/Archery Defender (have both female & male versions of this toon).

Soviet Winter Knight - Russian Ice/Ice blaster who wears battle armor.

    Head-to-Head - Handicapped Indian-American mutant Mind/Emp controller.

Lord Stormbringer - Ancient Norwegian demi-god/storm-elect corruptor.

Count Gregor - Irradiated Russian Vampire. Not a pleasant dinner companion.
