  1. Thank goodness for paranoia! While I have been using the e-mail system to temporarily "store" recipes, I was too worried about a glitch eating my e-mails to actually e-mail myself anything but common IO recipes and temp power recipes. I also did a bunch of crafting this weekend, so if I lost any e-mails it was 3 or 4 common IOs at most.

Still it would have been nice to know about this upfront. And to anyone saying the Devs never intended the e-mail system to be storage, I can't argue with that, but they had to know that's how players were going to use it. If they truely didn't then they are scarily out of touch with their customers.
  2. Gotta mow the lawn before patrolling the streets of Paragaon City tonight, so I might be a wee bit late.

Good news is, I'm leaving work right at 5 o'clock, and I have a small yard.

Potential bad news is, my old mower died when I accidentally ran over one of those steel water main caps last week, so this will be the first night with a brand new mower. Though I guess if the new mower doesn't work, I won't be late at all.

Anyway, I will be there tonight, so don't despair if you don't see Shannon's gorgeous mug right at 6:30 .

    • Players may once again choose to not accept or decline the Mystic Fortune buff power.
So it was actually deemed more annoying to occasionally get a buff that you didn't ask for than to have to click that pop-up message every time someone cast the power on you? Or was this fixed in some other way, like the option to decline teleports?

I have a lvl 14 almost 15 Trap/DP Defender that could join you. Sorry, he's not a healer but he debuffs well.
I'm new to the server and a noob regarding Rp but would like to learn more.
    The character's name is Gismo.
He is a mutant with the ability to create machinery and equipment to suit his needs. Sort of like the X-man Forge but he doesn't need tools...he just forms them with his mind.
As long as he is a member of law enforcement. The team concept is Paragon City Police officers, but we have one Federal Agent on the team as well. Meet us in front of the Kings Row police station around 6:30 PM ET tonight.

    My toon's name is Shenaniguns.

Cost for both room and unit is 75000 Prestige total.
    That did the trick, thanks!

Oh good. When you said he was from Miami, I thought he was going to be named Sonny Sprocket or Ricardo Tubba Bolts.

I'll probably be on tonight sometime before 8:30, but I'm not sure if I have the ability to invite others to the SG.
  7. Scanning the newspaper for your latest job you notice something promising in the Classified section. The infamous mercenary known only as "The Waitress" is looking to hire a crew to help her knock over the Paragon City Bank and Trust branch in Founders Falls. In addition to a full cut of the loot, Waitress will put in a good word with her contacts for the villain who organizes the robbery* and spread the word about all the other members of the crew.** Also, everyone in the crew will get free hot wings for life at a certain sports bar in St. Martial.

Reply to Box 36-24-36 if interested.

    * The mission holder will receive 5 million infamy after the mission, as long as I'm at least able to get the exploration badge, although I would like to do the side missions as well to earn credit towards those badges.

** Each member of the team other than the leader will get 2 Million infamy after completion of the mission.

((While this thread serves a specific purpose for me, I thought it could be an interesting RP way for Redside Virtuites who are looking for a VG, a team, a specific mission, a specific piece of loot, etc. to contact each other. Feel free to use it for such things if you want. I really am looking for the FF Mayhem mission though, and hollering in broadcast in Grandville over the weekend didn't do me any good, so I thought I'd try a different approach.))

By all means. We have a few roster spots open, and we dont' discriminate based on sex, religion, skin color, or factory of origin.

Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Eastern Time is our regular meet-up.
  9. OK, thanks all.

I guess the next dumb question is, how do I increase the base's power?
  10. I've never messed with base building or design, but this morning I was doing a little work on one of the SG bases I've inherited, and I can't figure out why I cannot access the vault I added to the base.

As I understand it, base vaults connect to the other Vaults in PC, but for some reason I can't open the one in my base; I can't get the blue hand of access to appear. Is there something else I have to add to the base to allow access to the vault?
  11. If I was at home I could send you pics of some costumes I have saved, but they aren't on this computer.

I think the secret is to use either the baggy top or a jacket or vest - something that hides the muscular definition of the tights options. The smooth tights option isn't bad, but even that is more muscular than a normal 10 y.o. kid would be.

I have one costume saved at home called Sheriff Tommy that I was going to use for a dual pistols character. I think it captures the look of a kid dressed as a cowboy pretty well, but I never used it because I just couldn't see myself playing a 10 y.o. kid. A woman? Yes. A werewolf cop? Sure. An indestructible, demonically posessed robot? No problem. Just not a 10 y.o. kid.
  12. When I ran a Manticore TF last weekend, he kept sending us to Dark Astoria.

Yeah, I signed up for that as soon as someone, maybe you, mentioned it before. Just wish I could figure out why I can't seem to get the updates sent to my phone.

It's just bad luck. Recently I was working on the PvP rep badges with a friend, taking turns killing each others' "fodder" toons to increase our rep to the fabled 400. Over the course of about 8-10 days of doing this, we each had approximately 416-420 PvP kills. In that time he got one PvP recipe drop; I got five.

If you check e-Bay, people are selling 4-day passes to SDCC for anywhere from $300-$600 each. I'm not sure exactly how that works, since you can't get your actual badge until the Wednesday or Thursday of the convention, and you're supposed to show a photo ID that matches the name on the confirmation print out.

As much as I would love to be able to upgrade my measley Thursday & Sunday 1-Day passes to a full 4-Day pass, and as willing as I would be to pay hundreds of dollars to do so, it just seems waaaaay too risky to send a stranger on e-Bay that kind of money and trust them to show up, stand in line to get the badge, and then hand it over to you.
  16. Apparently the best use for them is for you to make as many random rolls as you can and then put everything on the market so that other players can get recipies easier and cheaper and aren't forced to grind Task Forces.

If you don't use all your merits regularly or you personally use any of the rewards you get you are ruining this game!

Obviously lots of players play the game lots off different ways, but the bulk of them are reward driven and will thus flow toward the path of least resistance. When the devs change the rules, they change those paths and the behavior of their reward seeking playerbase.
So I get to choose how I play the game, but you and the bulk of the players in this game don't? I had no idea. That really sucks for you guys.

Patently false. I didn't grind TF before merits existed and I don't grind them now. If I do a TF it's to level and/or get a badge. My main blue badge toon and only blue 50 has never repeated a TF as far as I can recall. She has over 1000 merits and has never spent a single one - that's how important it is to me to "grind for merits."

Regarding Milady's_Knight's assertion that people like me who don't cash in, or "hoard," their merits are depriving the people who use the market, of which I am one, of recipies and such and therefore the system should be changed to force them to cash in their merits, I say screw that! If that change ever occured, I would vendor all random recipies I couldn't use just out of spite.

You know who/what is telling you how to play? YOU. YOU are the one deciding you NEED certain recipies or IOs, not the game. Not one of my toons has a single purple enhancement slotted, and few have any really powerful sets slotted, and I enjoy playing them anyway.

The game doesn't force me to spend millions or billions of inf on enhancements to enjoy the upper levels, any more than it forces me to spend hours at a time in RV trying to get the badge for controlling heavies, so if I choose to spend those millions or billions on those enhancements, or those hours in RV trying to get that badge, it is ME telling MYSELF how to play the game, not the Devs.

    Things change in life, adapt.
  19. Mags and I ran the first two missions of the Nance "Dark Mirror(?)" arc tonight. If you guys are level 20 or higher and want to run those two missions you'll be caught up to us next week.

Also, wondering if we should start another recruiting drive since we seem to be bleeding teammates. Thoughts?

If your friend is in a SG/VG and is in SG/VG mode, their earned prestige will continue to increase, which could give away the fact that they are online, but someone would really have to be looking for that to find them out that way.

Likewise if they add something to, or take something out of SG/VG storage, the log will record what time they did it. But again, you'd have to really have a stalker for someone to determine that you were online in that manner.
  21. Roll call, June 1, 2010:

Shannon - will be there at 6:30.
    Dread - on special assignment.
    Ethan - ?
    Mag - ?
    Mac - ?
