Are you required to run the Earn a Cape mission before you can run the Auras mission?
I'm level 30 and I don't particularly want a cape, but that's the only mission the City Rep will give me. -
Quote:Huh?No it's not. But you need a base that is able to start the trial
How can it be co-op if you need a base to start it? Also, where did you read that on the overview page? Sounded to me like they were giving villains at least some measure of access to the Shadow Shard. -
I like the sound of the new Cathedral of Pain Trial. Rare badge? Maybe a "Master of CoP" badge? Getting 24 toons through the trial with no deaths could be a rare feat indeed.

Quote:PaladinAnd we didn't mention the... I'm forgetting the name now... clockwork knight that spawns in King's Row, but you only get the badge if you prevent him from spawning.
Others that haven't been mentioned (though they may actually be AVs despite their giant size) include Hamidon and Lannaru(sp?) the Mad.
Also, does the Jade Spider only appear during a TF? That thing was a p.i.t.a. to defeat during the anniversary event. -
The bad news - CoH only has 45 votes.
The good news - we only need 1223 more to catch up to Star Wars Galaxies. -
ETA: My responses below apply mainly to PUGs.
1) Do you think that more team leaders should set some simple rules or would you find this offensive?
I think "setting rules" is generally a bad idea, and will turn people off, but they can certainly make suggestions, especially if they are the mission holder. For example, I like doing the side missions in Safeguards/Mayhems, so if I form a team to do one, I'll state up front that we're going to do the sides, and make sure everyone is OK with that. If someone doesn't want to, they usually drop.
2) If you feel that the leader should set some rules, what should they be?
Unless the team is doing really poorly, I don't think the leader needs to lead beyond things like, "Follow Tank X" or asking things like, "Do we want to just stealth this mission?" or "Do we want to mop up stragglers?" Leaders who dictate the way things are going to go, beyond strategy that is needed in some cases (SFs and TFs), tend to cause me to leave the team.
3) If you feel that it would be offensive for the leader to set rules, why?
People play this game to have fun by-and-large, and a lot of people don't find taking orders and following someone else's rules fun. -
I was on vacation for the holiday, so I'll need to check my inbox and voicemail at the station tonight to see if anything important needs our attention.
See everyone around 6:30 ET. -

Something weird is going on. I am currently farming for damage badges on my lvl 50 BS/WP Scrapper.
This toon has the following health-related bonuses:
Large Increased Health Set Bonus x 2 for a total of 3.76%
Moderate Increased Health Set Bonus x 2 for a total of 3%
Task Force Commander Accolade for 5%
Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member Accolade for 10%
(Total Health/HP bonus from above = 21.76%)
I have a total of 1951.7 HP, which is 613.1 HP more than the 1338.6 the wiki lists for a level 50 scrapper.
That means that if an attack hits me for 1060 points of damage, only 447 should count towards my damage badges. Yet I am currently resting in front of a lvl 53 Carnie Iron Strongman who is hammering me for 1060 points of damage with each hit of his mallet and I am getting credit for right around 1050 damage with each hit.
Also 1338.6 x 1.2176 = 1629.9 if the percentages are not compounded, or 1653.3 if they are. Neither is close to the 1951.7 listed for my character though.
What am I missing? -
Keep in mind, your toons name may not be available on the server your considering transferring to. Maybe not a big deal if you plan to transfer back later. However, if the toon has an iconic name, you might want to create a placeholder character on the original server as soon as you make the transfer so you don't risk losing the name while you're on the other server.

That beast fur should option rocks! That's the first time I've seen that. PLEASE bring that back, even if it's just in a Beast Super Booster.
ETA: And please make it available to all three "genders." -
Experience, recommendations, and a killer resumé?

Planning to be there as soon as this blasted patch downloads.

Shannon is still assigned to the mean streets of Kings Row, but I think our next case is in IP, so we can meet there.

ProBABly busy with that Going Rogue thing I heard about.

Cool with me, ChakatStreak. The more the merrier. When you get on tomorrow night shoot a tell to @mousedroid, and I'll invite you to the team. Though if Ethan is there I might let him lead, but in that case I'll tell him you're on so he can invite you.

Unfortunately they also employ contractors who make money by cutting corners and issuing change orders. Not to say all contractors are shady, but some are, even when it comes to high profile buildings. Look at the World Trade Center Towers in NYC - somebody cheaped out on the fire protection foam sprayed on the structural joists. That change may have cost the lives of hundreds of people who would've gotten out of the buildings if they'd stood another 15-20 minutes.

Probably the only time you're going to get these badges is around Halloween. You're right that it takes too much coordination and concerted effort, and too many players to succeed when they randomly spawn.
It's a neat concept, but it just doesn't work as well as the invasions, which can be fought with fewer people and less coordination. It should probably be a specific-time-of-the-year thing like the Winter Lord.
