  1. More than purple and blue, less than yellow and orange.

Am I the only person whose cats don't ignore/snub them when they come back from an extended absence?
  2. The Blue Shield - a roleplaying group of law enforcement heroes - is looking to fill out its ranks.

Currently consisting of four regular members and one MIA member, Blue Shield is a group of Paragon City Police Officers of various backgrounds and seniority (i.e. levels 22-29) who have banded together to take on threats too great for regular beat cops to handle by themselves.

If you have what it takes: courage, fortitude, and a dedication to justice (not to mention a police-themed character), then post a message on the bulletin board at your local precinct house (aka this thread), and one of our members will get back to you.

Regular meetings and distributions of beatings take place on Tuesdays between 18:30 and 20:30 hours (i.e. 6:30 to 8:30 PM ET).

Join the few, the loud, the Blue Shield.

P.S.: While we try to play in character most of the time, we're not RP nazis. We're also not a Top "X" SG, but we do have a lot of fun.
  3. Heh, my friend Stan was with me and that's what he wrote on his name tag, but he doesn't play the game (yet) so he doesn't have a handle of any sort (yet). Not sure if that's who you saw or not.

Of course, I didn't use my forum handle either, but I probably will in New York.

Where did you get this information? I had the impression that anyone who upgraded their account with the code Gamestop gives you will have access to these enhancements whether they just bought the game for the first time, or they are a 75 month vet.
  5. Yeah, the Meet 'n Greet was fun, and definitely less crowded than I expected. Not sure what happened to the 600 people who RSVP'ed, but I would estimate the peak at any given time was 100-150 people, which was good since there was only seating for about 30.

Based on the number of raffle tickets that were drawn and not claimed I guess a lot of people stopped by for a bit and then left. Maybe the $7-$8 beers and $11 mixed drinks turned people away. I know I switched to water after only a couple of beers.

It was definitely fun to play around in Praetoria on a machine with truely awesome graphics. And I won one of the exclusive T-shirts by making Positron laugh, so that was cool too.

    Two other highlights for me...

I won a David Nakayama sketch of one of my characters! (posted scan coming soon), and I had a nice, if brief, conversation with War Witch on Sunday afternoon.
  6. Pushing Daisies - Never saw the Oblongs, but I loved Pushing Daisies, so...

The Honeymooners - Probably an unfair match-up, but I gotta give props to Gleason.

Archer - Best Animated Show Ever

Police Squad! - Never thought I'd vote down Dead Like me, but Police Squad! was a classic.

Clerks the Animated Series - Flipped a coin on this one.

The Tick - Another coin toss.

Andy Richter Controls The Universe - For me, HGttG was hurt by the fact that the book was so good.

Freaks and Geeks - Should win every prize ever invented based soley on Linda Cardellini's beautiful smile, but was also an incredible show.

I'm surprised you had down time between panels. I skipped most of the panels I wanted to see because it seemed I would have to get in line 2-3 hours before they started in order to get a seat.

And Preview Night is actually the perfect time to shop in the Exhibit Hall and/or arrange commissions from the artists in attendance. I'm glad I decided to buy my 4-day (+ Preview Night) pass for next year on Thursday. Now I just have to worry about getting a hotel room, as usual.
  8. So the Purple IO recipes that heroes can buy will be HAM-IO recipes.

So quite simply, Heroes and Villains who "re-affirm" their respective 'Hero' and 'Villain' alignments can earn Hero and Villain merits. These merits are different than merits normally earned via Task/Strike Forces and completing story arcs.

Heroes redeem the Hero merits in Fort Trident, and Villains redeem the Villain merits in the Crucible. Characters will be able to CHOOSE the recipe of their choice. (It is not a random roll redemption.)

Fort Trident and the Crucible also has additional functions, but the meat of those areas are the Hero and Villain merits reward redemption.

Only players who have upgraded their accounts with the Going Rogue expansion, and who've chosen to stay true to their Hero and Villain alignments through the Going Rogue Alignment System will gain access to those hero/villain lounges.

We'll have more information about this as the Going Rogue launch approaches.

I hope that clarifies it....there were so many things we had to cover during the panel.
Thanks, Ghost Falcon. I guess I was wondering if there was an option to randomly roll for a purple. i.e. it would cost 500 new merits to choose the recipe you want, or 100 of them to get a random purple.
  10. I don't know if it's old news and that's why it wasn't mentioned, but something I had never heard before that I learned at the panel:

An advantage of NOT switching sides will be access to Hero and Villain "lounges" - locations that Rogues and Vigilantes can't get into. What's the big deal about that? Well, apparently in these lounges, you can use merits to buy purple recipies.

Things I'm not clear on and/or don't recall:

    1) Whether you can use existing merits, or they are introducing a new kind.
    2) Whether you can roll randomly (thus potentially increasing the number of purples on the market).
    3) Whether you can go rogue and then access the lounge on the other side, or if only hero ATs have access to hero lounges, and vice versa.

Guess I should have asked some questions to clear those things up.
  11. Logged onto character A1 this morning and she got the temp power too even though she wasn't on the team or even logged in when the mission was completed.
  12. Indeed - having the mission holder enter the mission before logging out was the key. Only one Safeguard mission exploration badge to go now.

Oh and a nice surprise - I got the temp power End Increase from completing the mission. I thought once you outleveled the Safeguard mission you couldn't get the temp power even if you had never gotten it before.

This may be the key. I didn't have A1 enter the mission. Going to try that now.
  14. Still no dice. Maybe the Devs "fixed" this.

I had character B enter the mission, then logged character A1 off. I logged character A2 on and had character B, who was in the mission, invite character A2 to the team. That all worked fine. However, character A2 could not enter the mission and although character B could have completed it, it no longer showed up as his active mission any more either.

I guess I am stuck with needing to find another player who has these missions, which so far hasn't worked any better.
  15. You would need a ticket to Comic Con to attend the panel on Thursday afternoon, but the Meet and Greet is at the Hard Rock Cafe/Hotel, and you don't need a ticket to Comic Con to attend it.

I just hope I'm able to get in. It sounds like way more people are planning to attend this than they can accomodate.

I also wish I could figure out how to get Twitter to send COH_OCR updates straight to my phone. I can check Twitter from my phone, but I have a feeling they are going to be sending Tweets like, "The first person to ask War Witch for one will receive a costume code of their choice," in which case just randomly checking my phone isn't going to cut it.

Yeah, that is the key ingredient I was missing and probably should have worked out on my own.

    Thanks again for the replies.
  17. So you can invite someone to your team from inside a mission?

I never tried that, and didn't know it was even possible.
  18. OK, that didn't work for some reason.

I got the mission on Character A1, and invited Character B (on a second account) to team with Character A1. I then logged off Character A1, and logged on Character A2 (same account as A1). I invited A2 to team with B, and everything seemed OK.

Then I tried to enter the mission with A2 and was immediately bounced back out. After that the mission disappeared from both toons, and neither could enter it (obviously). Should Character B have entered the mission first? Should he have entered before Character A1 logged off?
  19. Is it still possible to get a Safegaurd mission, team up with an alt on a second account, quit as the mission holder on the first account and log in another character and have the alt on the second account invite the new toon from the first account?

In other words, Captain Hero needs the exploration badge for the Talos Island safeguard mission, but has outleveled it and can't find any other players who have the mission.

However, the Silver Paragon, a charater on the same account as Captain Hero has the mission. Can the Silver Paragon invite Doctor Alternate to team up on the TI safe guard mission, and then quit the team allowing Captain Hero to log on and get the mission by teaming with Doctor Alternate? What if Doctor Alternate is only level 10, i.e. not high enough to hold the mission herself?
  20. I'm in. Tarantula Wasp has not been active in ages and this will be a great opportunity to play her since her primary reason for being in the Isles is to take down Arachnos.
