Haven't seen the video yet, but I'm fairly certain this will be the first booster pack I pass on. Unless there are some unannounced costume bits or selectable run/fly poses, I just don't see myself spending $8 on this.
That said, I do appreciate Paragon Studios giving us something a little different, it's just not something I necessarily want. -
Best of luck if you guys try this again this weekend. I'll be out of town, so hopefully I'll have another opportunity in the future.

I need the badge(s) for my red-side badge toon. She's a Psi/Fire dom (lvl 50) though, so I don't know if she'd fit the scheme required to complete the trial.

Sadly Tarantula Wasp will have to miss this one. Her (my) Fantasy Football draft is at 5 PM on Saturday, and won't be over in time to join in on this.
Kick a spider in the mandibles for her. -
So if there are more ambushes spawning than the Devs intended, does that mean we've found an Ambush Bug?

It depends what kind of powers I get.
I think it would be a lot easier to "put yourself above it all" if you were invulnerable and nearly omnipotent like Superman. If I had Supes powers and didn't have to worry about a common criminal getting in a lucky shot and killing me, I'd certainly be more likely to treat them like petulant children.
If I'm more like a Green Arrow, or Daredevil type where going up against guys with guns is a serious risk to my life, I'm going to take fewer chances and therefore be more ruthless.
If I get powers like the Vanisher or Kitty Pryde, It would be dishonest to say I wouldn't be tempted to use them to make my life easier (i.e. become a petty criminal). And if I got time travel powers, I would be stinking rich - Marty had the right idea about that. -

Wow, static teams have taken quite the beating lately. I'm on two that are mostly being held together with spit, bailing wire and a healthy dose of willpower. Battledog knows what I'm talking about.
I'm hoping interest will pick back up as the weather turns colder. -
Sauron. Sure, he was scary, but he was really ineffective. Hell, he couldn't even stop two Hobbits from throwing his most prized possession into a volcano right under his nose... er, eye. [Gob]C'mon![/Gob]

My team is looking pretty unstoppable so far.
And for the record, it's @mousedroid
I don't know if the space makes a difference, but I suspect it might. -
I'll be on as soon as the latest blasted patch downloads.

Moved a favorite, but little-played, character on Virtue to Guardian, and moved two RP-friendly characters (one blue, one red) from Guardian to Virtue.
If there had been some server-specific events during this time, I probably would've made more moves, but there weren't, so I didn't. -
Count me in.

Wolverine was set in 1979, at least it was if we are to believe the movie's climax at Three Mile Island was covered-up by the story of the reactor leak that took place in March of that year.
Though I think Emma Frost was to be in that movie and was around... 14 then, meaning she would have been born in 1965.
Then again, Kitty Pryde was like 14 when she was introduced in 1979 and 31 years later, she's only about 18, or 19, so... -
I would say my most iconic villain is Lord Stormbringer (Elect/Storm Corruptor). He is an ancient Scandinavian demigod who posessed the body of a Norwegian contstruction worker. He is bent on world conquest but is hindered by his frail mortal shell's inability to channel the full might of his awesome power.
My most iconic hero on Virtue is probably Captain Astonishing (SS/Inv Tanker). "Captain Astonishing" started as a comic strip character in Paragon City in the 1930s. Later the character was adapted for a radio show, a movie serial, a comic book and a short-lived kids TV show in the 1960s.
The TV show was considered too "trippy" and "psychadelic" for mainstream audiences and was cancelled after only 30 episodes. That was the last people had heard of the character until 2008 when a real life hero calling himself Captain Astonishing showed up on the streets of Paragon City. No one knew where he came from, or who he was, but he was such a shining beacon of justice and virtue that even the litigation-happy owners of the Captain Astonishing trademark - Megaultracorp, LLC - couldn't bring themselves to sue him.

OK, for the record - we can participate in this with an undercover hero (i.e. still technically a full villain) right? Or do we have to use a Rogue/Vigilante?

I sort of had Peter Parker in the back of my mind when I created my teen hero, Beams. His similarity to Peter is on the civilian side though as he's a socially inept teenage genius like original-flavor Pete. Powers-wise though he's nothing like Spider-Man since he wields nuclear energy rather than webs and spider-strength punches.
My first Praetorian character, Wind-Up Doll, was inspired by Hit Girl from Kick ***. However, while Wind-Up Doll is a tough as nails 13 y.o. orphan, she is also a cyborg having lost both legs and an arm Anakin-style in the attack that killed her parents. She also has the ability to channel kinetic energy through her hands, so she doen't bother with swords or guns like Hit Girl. -
I used to have two rules for myself, but I've abandonded both of them, and can't think of any others off-hand. The two rules I used to have:
1) Never log off with debt. I used to hate logging on and feeling like I had to dig myself out of a hole. Then they introduced patrol experience and my debt magically disappeared when I logged off, so it was no longer a big deal.
2) When running solo I used to always "paint" the map, that is run around until all the areas and side walls of the map were filled in. that was a minor OCD thing and I gave up on it after I started teaming more and no one wanted to wait for me to run around like an idiot when there was no point. I do still run the whole way around those loops that occur in the halls of many of the office maps though.
The only existing "rule" I have is that all my characters run through the tutorial regardless of whether they are hero, villain or praetorian. -
I seem to have lost progress on a badge. I used to be one Praetorian Archvillain away from completing... whatever that badge is, but now it says I'm at 12 of 14. Did they add one?

Yeah, more teammates would be nice. I tried to start a recruitment drive thread a few weeks ago, and while it got a fair number of views, I don't think it got a single response. If one of you wants to try your luck, please do. even if we only snagged two new people, it would increase the fun exponentially.

Got a pair of what?
Shannon will be there. -
The 17th will actually be my first day back at work after my vacation to Florida for four days of Star Warsy fun.
-
Accidentally started a new thread, but I wanted to post my SDCC 2010 sketch in the official thread too.
He's a super-intelligent mutant kitten. She's a reanimated corpse. Together, they fight crime.

I'd love to see a prompt added to the Teleport to Mission power that would pop up if you hadn't set your mission. As it is now, it just teleports you to the first one in the list. PITA for such a long recharge power.
