I don't PvP, so I'll probably never see one of these drop naturally, and I don't like to play the market game, so what the heck... I'll bid 2 bullion.

Twenty three days and counting until NYCC. You guys and gals from Paragon Studios are still coming, right?
-
So what happened to Matt Murdock? Did he "die"?
-
One suggestion from me - do NOT choose Mutant as your origin. It seems to me at least that there are fewer mobs that drop Mutant origin SOs than any other type. I would suggest Science or Technology.

Posi part II tonight?
-
I won on Virtue last night as well. I used my Mardi Gras inspired brute, Vieux Carre, because what says "party" better than Mardi Gras?
-
Wonder if this means we'll see a crossover with the other Disney characters - Spider-man, Iron Man, the X-Men, etc. Now that he's single again, maybe Spidery could strike up a romance with Mulan!

I wish to never grow older than I am right now, and never die. Would that be considered two wishes?
Of course any wish you could think of could be twisted by a being powerful enough to grant wishes in the first place. -
That's cause they use the metric system.
One owie in the IP system = 2.355 centibruises in the SI system. -
I was never a PvPer, so could someone explain to me, in a nutshell, how I13 broke PvP?
-
Sorry for the confusing and apparently lame joke. I didn't notice your registration date.

Quote:You're equating going to a convention where you are guaranteed a freebie to showing up at an in-game event where you have a slim chance of winning one? Ok.Attention East Coasters. When you feel the need to complain that you get shut out of events such as all the conventions that take place on the West coast remember this. West coast inhabitants with a job are pretty much shut out of all in game special events. Since the Paragon Studios have the same work shift as most of us we never get to see these special events. Not the many invasion events Avatea announces such as past incursions of Malta or whoever it was. Not the devs showing up to spawn hoards of the GMs. And not the events which give away expansion packs and costume codes.
For that matter those of us who don't sit at a desk and have the ability to keep the forums and twitter open in the background also get to miss all the twitter based giveaways. In other words if it's business hours for them it's SOL for us.
Of course this is the first time I've gotten irked at this. Not because of the free party pack. I have no problem paying for that. But because this could have been my one chance to get all the costume codes and that is something which I would happily pay for.
Can't speak for any other non-west coasters, but I could live with missing the in-game appearances if it meant 75-80% of the real life events were on the east coast.
ETA: I'm not sure, but I think to win all the codes, you'd have to be dang lucky, or awesome at costume design, and you'd have to have characters on 8 different servers. They only gave 1 code to a winning player, I think, not all of them. -
Try taking away his magic markers - without them he is powerless.

Quote:Maybe they'd go for General Dodonna. Akbar is a funnier concept, but Dodonna has that whole Robert E. Lee vibe going on....There are alumni down here threatening to stop donating to the school if they don't bring back the Southern Plantation owner-style Rebel.

OK, so it sounds like with Option 1 we get...
...to keep the old, low rez pieces and patterns as long as we don't change them.
...new higher rez pieces, textures and patterns we can update our costumes with.
I'll vote Option 1 in that case.
Just please tell me you are going to make white costume pieces opaque with this change? -
I would if it was later, but this being the first weekend of NFL action, I'll be watching football at 1 PM.

Yeah, I forgot about Black Bolt. Having that kind of power with no "off" switch other then not talking would suck. I wonder what happens if he catches a cold?
Telepathy would be OK if it wasn't an "always on" power, which I don't think it was until the modern age of angsty superheroes. If it was an on-demand power, it would be OK, though it would be a very tempting power to abuse.
Oh, you know who else's power sucks? Destiny from Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants: the power to not quite see the future. "Don't get on that plane, it might crash! Then again, it might not. I'm not really sure because I can't actually see the future, just one of many possible outcomes; y'know, sort of like everyone else on earth."
I used to think immortality would be awesome, but now I agree with the people who think it would suck. You would continually outlive everyone you know and love. And even if you were impervious to harm, and didn't have to eat or breathe, you'd still need money to live a comfortable life, so you'd either have to become a villain, get lucky and strike it rich, or you'd have to work for a living... forever! -
That quote would be more likely to get me to stop playing whatever game(s) he's currently working on than this one.
It sounds to me like he's saying, "What you get at launch is all you're ever going to get. I see no reason to waste time or money adding new features to a game." -
My Grav/kin 'troller, and my Ill/emp 'troller, but maybe that's because I mainly played them solo.
I have a Psi/emp 'troller that I play on a static team, and it's the first support toon I've been able to get past 30.
I still like those other two, but they might be badly in need of a respec and/or a server transfer. -
As much as I'd like to be able to get the "perfect" name for each of my characters, no, I don't want other people on the server to have that same name.
I almost bought a subscription to CO so that I could try to get the names I wanted, but when I heard that they were set up so that multiple people could have the same name, I decided not to bother. -
Quote:If I'm not mistaken, this didn't always happen, did it? Didn't level-rezzes only begin when they made the change that granted us one of each large inspiration when we leveled?that's pretty awsome... I have been playing on and off since CoH was in Beta and I had never had occassion to see any one rez from lvling while dead it may have happened in a party but I can't say I ever actually saw it before now, but having it happin in such an epic fashion like what happened with me or what you describe looks so cool

I have about 20 characters that I regularly, or at least occasionally, play, and at least that many that I rarely or never play.
Of those 40 odd characters, maybe three of them use dual builds, and those are "support" characters (defender/controller/corruptor) with a "solo" build and a "team" build.
It's a nice feature, it's just too dang expensive to me to worry about enhancing two different builds. -
The thing that always made me wonder is, why is he trying to dunk a basketball when he's a baseball player?
