I keep getting a message around the 71% point that says, "Cannot create a file when that file already exists."
When I hit the Repair button, I get a second error message that says, "Access to the path is denied."
This only happened on my home computer. When I ran the patch on my laptop at work, it worked fine.
Anyone else have, or had, a similar problem? -
Having problems with the update. Keep encountering a problem I can't seem to get past, or repair. Go ahead and start without me and I'll catch up to you guys if and when I can get logged in.

A new badge for anyone who transfers a toon from a NA server to an EU server, or vice-versa.
Keeps Passport exclusive to those who earned it the intended way. -
I don't have any experience with Union, but I would LOVE having another RP server since I'm out of slots on Virtue.
-
Nay, it was just a thought - not something I had my heart set on. We can run some other missions instead.
-
Can everyone get into Cimerar... Cimeroar... Cimeror... that Roman place? Thought maybe we could run some Caeseriffic missions tonight in honor of the Ides of March.
-
Anyone have, or know of, a good St. Patrick's Day MA Arc? Preferably something team-oriented with 4 or 5 missions.

Quote:No, I never did, which is really odd since I recall playing S1, S2, and S4.Never played Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, then?

Quote:Wow, D&D has really changed since my half-elf ranger fought that blue dragon and got its +3 bow.Holy crap. This is PERFECT! Nyargh! I only wish I had known about it before the game, and I would have used it in a heartbeat! Oh well. The guy they were fighting isn't dead, and he still has eight other cronies that are yet to emerge, so I've got plenty of opportunities to use them in the future.
So a brief summary of the game for anyone who cares (I love the way this game turned out, I can't resist sharing).
So the PC's learned a while back that a group of godlike, sentient stars known as the Solari, lead by a white giant named Korion, are about to launch an attack on the world, and have set out to warn as many people as they can about the impending war. Thing is, they got a tip from an old friend of theirs who said that he might have a way to win it before it even starts, and to meet him in the ruins of an ancient, out of the way city.
The friend in question? My old player character, a half Illithid, half angel artificer named Gnosis that was their adventuring buddy back before our old DM left and I took over. He's a complete Mary Sue, but the PC's like him so there weren't any hard feelings.
After braving their way through the city (which had literally come alive, and was trying to kill them), they met up with Gnosis, who explained that he found an ancient idol of Korion built millions of years ago during the first time the Solari attacked the world. The plan was to incarnate Korion into the idol, and then kill it, trapping his mind inside.
And that's exactly what they did. Korion was incarnated, the battle began, the completely broken and overpowered rogue somehow managed to do over 300 damage during the course of the encounter, and Korion looked finished, as he toppled into a chasm.
Too bad he was only pulling the Disney death, and came roaring back, at which point he crushed Gnosis beneath his feet, picked him up, bit him in half, and chucked his corpse at the rogue, who had an enormous crush on him. At this point the PC's made the wise move to GTFO, and booked it. Korion almost managed to kill the party's sorcerer, but due to some quick thinking from the rogue and the bard, escaped with only a pair of broken arms. At that point the enchantment wore off, and Korion was released back into the void.
And then he rose over the horizon, in his true form as a white giant star, summoned the other eight Solari, sent an army of abberant monsters hurtling down to earth in meteors, and provided the campaign with a MASSIVE cliffhanger that will unfortunately not be resolved until September.
And the best part? The party was level EIGHT when this happened. -
As always with City of Heroes, no good deed goes unpunished.
Give a group of players something they have been asking for for years, but tell them that in the process a small number of them might have to make a concession because of it, and suddenly that benefit that they have been asking for for years is seen as a slap in the face.
Yes, it stinks that some European players will have their global names altered - I would be disappointed if it happened to me too - but isn't that kind of a small sacrifice to make for access to, what... 11 more servers? -
If I'm on Virtue, and I am playing a character who has an origin and/or background for which mystical powers don't make sense, I never use it. Example - my sentient Clockwork has no magical abilities, therefore he can't cast fortunes.
If I'm on a character where it makes sense, or if I'm on a non-RP server, I'll buff the whole team if I need to. I rarely fdo drive-by fortunes unless it's in AP or Mercy on a low level character. -
I'm currently at the Boston meet and greet, so allow me to express my appreciation this Friday to the Devs, Paragon Studios, and NCSoft for hooking us up with yet another rocking East Coast party. Only wish War Witch could've come again. Hope to see you in San Diego, WW.

If you renewed on Feb 11, and keep your account active until April 18, you should get the reward. If you didn't renew until Feb 15, you will, unfortunately, miss out.

Were you guys ERPing in Pocket D again? You should apologize.

Just snagged Star of India on Virtue, which really surprised me.

Now for old times' sake I'm going to have to pick up a box of Peanutbutter C'nC and a box of C'nC with Crunchberries. Two of my favorites as a kid, when by the way, I was rail thin.

Allow me to add my condolences as well. I hope that your grief passes quickly and your memories of him last a lifetime.

Off hand the only one I can think of is Kilowasp. She is my electric/kin corruptor and she can only fly/hover when she is shrunk down to insect size (i.e. the smallest I can get under the current limitations + insect wings).
I have binds set up to change her into her insect size costume and trigger Fly or Hover, and other binds that turn off hover/fly and return her to normal size sans wings. Since I can't truely make her the size of a wasp, she has a stealth IO slotted in each of her fly powers to simulate the fact that she is much smaller than she appears.
She can use her primary and secondary powers at any size though. -
Quote:Thanks, Turgenev. I'll wait to buy.Actually, we're both sorta right... so here's what happens:
1. You can login a toon that has the rename flag on it.
2. BUT, you have a window in the middle of your screen that you "have" to address - can't drag it, can't minimize it - where it prompts you for the immediate name change in the game GUI.
You CAN hide your GUI, and you can fight and chat and do other things while that window is up. However, it's very annoying to work around.
Hope this helps, mouse. -
An X-Men movie with Sentinels. Maybe something based on Days of Future Past.
Echo - the Terry Moore series
Planetary - sort of like Fringe with superpowers.
Kickers, Inc. - OK, this one is a joke
Death - maybe an adaptation of Death: The High Cost of Living
The Spectre - the silver age version who meted out justice by doing freaky stuff like turning criminals to wood and then setting them on fire. -
My Mardi Gras inspired Dual Blades/Willpower brute, Vieux Carre in the costume that won me one of the Party Packs:
