If Shalice Tilman was Australian, would she be Sister Crikey?

Quote:You think Paragon City is safe??? Perhaps you missed the thrice hourly muggings on every other street corner, the rampaging giant-ish monsters, or the forces invading from half a dozen different dimensions and/or parallel worlds? Not to mention the drivers who swerve randomly from lane to lane as they drive down the street.I find it interesting they didn't list the REAL reason it's the safest state in the U.S...
Rhode Island FTW.
"Alien"
Sure there are a lot of superheroes there, but even they get beat up so often that they need a system that automatically teleports them to the hospital.
No, I think they did Rhode Island a favor by flat out ignoring the dangers of living in Paragon City. -
Double XP would have been better, but I'll take it. Thanks!

I still need MoTMTF for my Mind/Fire Dom, so I'd be game. Just let me know when.

Ain't that the truth. I logged on at 6 AM ET this morning to get some playtime in before work. Around 6:30 AM ET a red message popped up saying the servers were going down in 30 minutes.
I thought to myself, "I thought they said 5 AM PT, not 4 AM PT."
Another message popped up at 6:35 announcing 25 minutes to server shut-down.
At 6:50 a third message popped up announcing 10 minutes to server shut down.
"Oh well, I should at least be able to get one more mission in," I figured. Unfortunately, my next mission was the Defeat 80 Clockwork mission from Praetorian Penny Yin and I could tell I wasn't going to finish it in the time I had left.
Then, at 6:55 AM ET, a fourth red message popped up saying, "Please disregard all previous messages. Server maintenance will begin in 1 hour and 5 minutes."
I lol'ed, finished beating down the Clockwork at 7:02 AM ET, and logged off to get ready for work.
It was fun to imagine one of the higher-ups at Paragon Studios at home just starting a TF when the 10 minute message popped up and then making a quick call to the office to say, "5 AM! We said 5 AM, not 4 AM!" -
Quote:First MTV stopped showing videos, then the History Channel stopped showing programs about history and now this. Just goes to show that Corporate American can ruin just about anything.First it was professional wrestling and now a cooking show. Did SyFy at least focus on how to make Klingon quisine? No! It's Marcel from Top Chef. I have so many fond memories of watching great Sci-fi on that channel and it hurts to watch it's soul get murdered piece by piece.

Quote:I think it's a legitimate question. I've been to a lot of message boards, and almost all of them have an "Off-Topic" forum. Can't you guys vulcanize my tires yet?
Seriously, what is the point of coming to the City of Heroes forums and asking questions that have absolutely nothing to do with the game, even in the most tangential way?
If you go to a sports bar do you limit your topics of conversation to sports and alcoholic beverages? If you go to church/temple/mosque do you limit your discussions to only your specific religion? When you take a break at work, do you only talk about the Stevens contract or whatever it is your company is working on at the time?
I'm not sure what the harm would be in having a section where people could discuss their favorite bands, sports teams, cuisine, etc. Granted, an O-T forum can be a pain to moderate since topics like religion and politics are inevitably brought up, and they always cause arguements. And that's probably why we don't have one moreso than just, "If it ain't CoX related, take it elsewhere." -
Quote:Another thought - April 18 is the end date for the 7 Years of Super Rewards promo, so maybe they are going to start a week-long Anniversary celebration on the 19th?That was my first thought when I saw that. By only giving us two more weeks, I am going to assume Tuesday Apr 19, is my target date for I20 drop.
Either way, hopefully they aren't going to stop doing WSTs when I20 drops. That would kinda screw people who have characters in the 40s that they want to take Incarnate, not to mention those who'd like the badges but don't have the time or inclination to run six or seven identical S/TFs every week. -
Quote:Quarter-centry-old traditions? That's like... 1986. OMG! Was CoH inspired by Marvel's New Universe???...there are plenty of players out there who honor the quarter-century-old traditions of the comic book universes that inspired City of Heroes to begin with.

My top three:
3. Add a teriary color selection. This could be a ton of work, but having the ability to outline some of the existsing patterns in a third color would greatly increase the variety of looks you could make without having to create a ton of new costume pieces.
2. Asymmetry. See arguements above.
1. FIX WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE. Why after almost seven years do we still have a problem with white tops on females making it look like they're in a wet T-shirt contest? And why, for the love of Cole why, have the old patterns that bleed into their background surfaces never been fixed? -
Ah, Happy Birthday, TK!

When this arc was first introduced, I soloed both Trapdoor and the weakened Honoree with both my BS/WP scrapper and my Mind/Fire Dom. Then the Devs "fixed" at least the Trapdoor mission. Last week I teamed my latest 50 with a scrapper and we had to call in a third to take down Trappy, then we needed four to take down the Honoree and whoever the other EB/Av is in that mission.
Definitely seems like it got harder to unlock your Alpha slot. -
Quote:I feel your pain. I have managed to snag all of the costume codes they've made so far and it was for a character whose concept was that he could steal the bodies of others.I had basically wanted a concept character but now it's botched, all because of Shadow Fall. Not that my character is unplayable, just a concept I wanted and can't do it. She still performs just as I hoped, but kinda bummed I can't use the costume now.
One of the ideas I had was to use Stealth to simulate his ability to walk through a group of villains undetected if he was disguised as one of them. No such luck. Also, since he was a controller, he got mezzed and/or stunned a lot and that always turned the power off too.
So I would vote for both the ability to use Stealth powers with the costumes toggled, and for not toggling the powers off when you get stunned or mezzed. The costumes give no inherent advantage, so there is no issue of balance that would preclude these changes. -

Well, for one thing - if people (like you) could transfer characters you like from those two accounts you don't play much, then those people might cancel those accounts and NCSoft would lose that subscription income.
Would you pay for account transfers? Would you pay the equivalent of one month's subscription for each transfer? Because that's the only way I ever see it happening. If you're hoping for free transfers, I think you'd be as well off wishing for a flying pony. -

Quote:I seem to have missed these "best efforts." What was done? Were threats made? Were people banned? Were any animals harmed in the making of these efforts?Just to clarify, because I'm that sort of guy:
WST = Weekly Strike Target = (next week) Manticore TF/Renault SF
WSF = Weekly Strike Force = Renault
WTF = Weekly Task Force = Manticore = an incredibly immature acronym that a majority of the playerbase seems to have adopted despite the devs' best efforts at discouraging it -
I know its been asked before, but what arcs or missions should I seek out to farm Fake Nemeses to get the Unveiler badge?

Nice!
Just heard the other day that Being Human was picked up for a second season, so it's been a good week. -
Quote:Nah. You put it on a timer and if it gets ignored after 10-15 minutes you either have the people get out with life rafts/personal floatation devices, or you have someone else come to rescue them - harbor patrol, or a signature hero.I always thought a Plane crash in the water would be a good mission of this type. Heroes would have to somehow get people off the the wreck before it sinks. My guess is a concern the Devs have is what happens if the event is ignored? Do civilians just sink and die?

Quote:Emphasis mine.Speaking from experience in helping to organize and run large Events (the most recent 10 Billion in size), I would say 250 Million INF and up for the top prize will generally have a pretty good turnout and will bring some of the top costume designers out of the woodwork. Less INF = Less Turnout.
The above quote is a good reason to occasionally have costume contests with smaller prizes IMO. While I would love to win 250-million inf or more in a cc, I know it's just not going to happen when the top costume designers are there.
I still may enter such a contest if there are a slew of lower prizes, but if it's just like 250-million for first, 100-million for second and 50-million for third, I'll probably skip it. I may think I have some pretty good costumes, but I don't have anything that can take top prize in a contest like that. -
I didn't take hasten on my DP/Dev blaster, and I don't miss it at all.
