((BTW, I wasn't implying that we needed to get together on Friday for anything. That talk about debriefing our superiors was strickly "off-camera" story development stuff. I'm guessing you all got that, but I wanted to make sure.))

Yeah, I think it's a riff on Obi-Wan's comment in A New Hope that, "Sand people travel in single file to hide their numbers."

Subject: Operation Disco
First of all, guys, you have Chief Bochco to thank for the name of this operation, not me. Second of all, were to rendezvous in Pocket D at 19:00. The mission is supposed to be reconnaissance only, but lets face it, they wouldnt be sending us if they didnt expect trouble, so bring your side-arms. But make sure they are concealed. At 19:10, Im supposed to get a call letting us know who our contact is and where to meet him, or her.
See you then,
Shannon
"I can already see tomorrow's headline: 'Broken Ankle Leads to Officer's Death.'" Shannon thought as she considered the 4" stiletto heel in her hand.
"Arrrggh, Buntz! Bad cat! Get off my new clothes, you freak!" she yelled, shooing the corpulant feline off the designer jacket lying on her bed.
"Creepio, see if you can clean the cat hair off this jacket before I have to leave tonight," she called to the little Mekman robot watching Oprah in the living room, "And do NOT destroy it like you did those pants my sister lent me. When you're done with that, figure out how to get my guns and gun belt into this clutch purse..." -
I'd just like to see an announcement as to whether there is anything special planned for the 28th, or whenever the actual anniversary date is.
I usually take a day, or a half-day, off work to participate in the GM and AV hunts, but I need to give advance notice. -
Time Traveler according to my birth year, but I am neither punctual, nor cosmopolitan.

Fix the friggin game!
In the past three days I've lost all my rewards from two Hamidon raids and a Rikti Mothership Raid thanks to these lousy zone crashes.
I understand the occasional glitch, but I'm extremely displeased about losing everything I earned because of them.
This is ridiculous. -
Questions:
1. How do healing enhancements work in Regen. Aura, and Adren. Boost? Do they just provide an initial heal to the target, or do they increase the regen rate boost that these powers apply to the targets?
2. If I slot a Regen Tissue: Regeneration unique, a Miracle: Recovery unique, or a Numina's: Regen/Recovery unique, do the bonuses from the IOs apply to the target or just the caster.
3. Does it make sense to put any of these IOs in these powers?
I thought there were more, but I had to go to a meeting and now I forgot them. -
Great idea and much appreciated even if work prevents me from participating in these.

I agree, and I would further argue that it's equally sad that "real" science channels have to turn to sci-fi shows, or dreck like paranormal investigations, to attract viewers. Actually, upon reflection, that's even sadder than what's happened to SyFy.

One thing we were obviously lacking last night was "control." With a way to lock down, confuse, or even slow the running bombs, it probably would've been less painful.
Like I said last night, I couldn't kill even the orange-conning ones before they were on top of me and exploding, let alone the much more prevalent red- and purple-conning ones. Because of that and the seemingly endless supply of them dropping from the ceiling, flat-out damage probably isn't the answer.
I am curious whether there is a limit to the number of them that spawn, or if they just keep coming until you take down Riptide and/or Harbinger. they oviously made it through Beta as is, so there must be a non-game-breaking strategy for dealing with them. -
Quote:If you hang out with me every single day and then call to complain about having to come over for my birthday because it's such a big chore, and detail how many hours you spend hanging out with me and how it's so much work, then you and I have problems with our friendship.
I think the analogy SingeryX was going for was more like, "I'm throwing a big New Years Eve party. If you want to come, you need to call me every day in October, November and December. If you forget to call me even one day, you can't come to my party."
But even that analogy is flawed because Paragon Studios and NCSoft are not our friends. Yes, they do nice things for us from time to time, but they do those nice things with an ulterior motive - to get us to keep paying them money!
Let's say your insurance company has a customer loyalty program. If you are their customer for seven straight years they will give you a discount on your insurance. After five years you let your insurance expire, or you switch insurance companies for six months before coming back to the original company. Would you expect them to still give you their loyalty bonus two years later even though you weren't their customer for six months? No, because they're not your friend and they aren't giving you a bonus out of the goodness of their hearts. -
Quote:How many accounts do you have, and do you need to have every feature available on every one of them?Just noticed that issue 20 'features' requires going rogue, so it already ends here. Im not gonna pay sub, and packs, and going rogue, and as cherry on the top the upcomming server-list merge.
This 'joke' gonna cost me over 200 euro, it just aint worth it anymore. And even if i had the money, paypal aint working anyhow..
If 200 Euros is too much then don't keep all your accounts active, and just do without.
That people still don't get that corporations are in business to turn a profit flummoxes me. -
One thing that I have often noticed causing "phantom characters" is double spacing after a period. I always do that because I think it's the proper way to type, but when my bio runs over the character limit and I start deleting the extra spaces, it seems like I pick up 3-5 characters for every space I delete.

Favorite lines? Only ALL of them!
My favorite line to throw out in every day situations is, "And that's how you get ants!"
I was reading a back issue of Incorruptible last night and suddenly realized I was reading Max Damage's lines in H. John Benjamin's voice. I found it weirdly appropriate. -

Starstryke, have you tried contacting Support about your issue? If you've maintained an account for seven years and it accidentally lapsed for three days due to a bank error, I would imagine they'll find a way to make sure you get the badge and the Vanguard pack. If they don't, then I wouldn't blame you one bit for quitting.

Unless you're leading a TF/SF, and especially if you're going for a Master of... badge, you really don't need to do much "leading" in this game.
If you are leading a TF/SF, read the wiki and know what to expect. The only ones I can really think of that need any kind of "strategy" are STF, LRSF, and Baraccuda.
If you're planning to lead a Master of... SF/TF, let the players know ahead of time, and know what it takes to achieve the goal.
I joined a Master of Tin Mage TF this weekend that was advertised ahead of time to be a Master of... run, but apparently I was the only one who read the strategy on how to get the Dodger badge, and therefore the only one who bothered to get nukes or an HVAS. When I tried to explain the strategy to the leader, his response was, "OK everyone, on three. 1... 2... 3..." and everyone rushed into the warehouse while I was summoning my HVAS and preparing my nukes. Needless to say, we didn't even come close to getting the Dodger badge, and I wasted three nukes and 250 vanguard merits. I very nearly quit the TF then, but I stuck around until I had to leave for RL matters because it was my fault they were late getting started. I would team with those folks again, but I strongly doubt I'd consider joining a Master of... run with that leader in the future. -
starting last mish of Manti now

Might be a few minutes late finishing up a Manticore

Quote:Boy, all you people who are so clever that you can't be fooled and post about it, you're just soooo clever!
I can just see you at the second story window...
"Meredith! Meredith! Up here! All your family and friend are hiding inside to throw you a surprise party! I just want to let you know, that *I* am not surprised!"
You really know how to go along with a joke. Very, very clever!
C'mon now. As an AFD joke it was about as believable as Brian Williams announcing that the government was conducting bombing missions in Libya from the backs of flying unicorns. -
I blame complacent reliance on cheap, foreign sources of XP. Instead of cultivating sustainable, domestic XP crops, Pargon Studios took the easy road and now we're running out.
Perhaps we can purchase excess XP at reduced prices from failing games that have no use for their backstock?
Also, a little too silly to be believable as an AFD prank, but still amusing. -
1 PM Central, 2 PM ET, right? That should work for me.
My Character's name is The Waitress. She's level 49+2and is a Mind/Fire Dom. She likes long walks on the beach, customers who tip generously, and the collected works of Marcel Proust. She dislikes babies, Larry the Cable Guy, and people who order white zinfindel.
