Thanks to this thread, I have just purchased the following print:
Thanks, thread! -
Neat promo, but quite a gamble, or expense ego boost, for stores to take. I'm willing to bet most of the stores that ordered these are chains. I know the one I visit here in town had some on the shelves, but the store on the cover was one of their other 3-4 shops in another town. It's probably a little easier to swallow if you can spread those 500 comics out over several stores.

"Chief, I need to know what's going on with Mags," Shannon said as she stormed into Chief Conrad Bochco's office.
"First of all, have you never heard of knocking?" Bochco asked as he looked up from the reports he was reading.
"Your door was open," Shannon said, glancing over her shoulder to make sure.
"That's not an invitation for you to just come storming in here," Bochco scolded.
"Storming? I didn't storm, I... just... I have to take longer steps... because I'm short," Shannon retorted.
"You absolutely did storm - it says so in the first sentence."
"The... it... what?"
"Nevermind. Now that you're here, what do you want?"
"Mags, I need to know what's going on with him?"
"Who?" the Chief asked, clearly confused.
"Mags...," Shannon said, and then realizing she was using one of the nicknames her team had for each other she amended, "I mean, Hiller. Officer Hiller."
"What do you mean? What happened?" Bochco said his voice tinged with concern as he rose from his chair.
"What? Nothing happened. What do you mean?" Shannon asked, her brow now furrowed with concern too.
"You said there was a problem, so what's the problem?" Bochco said, backtracking.
"I didn't say there was a problem, I said I wanted to know what's going on with him."
"Alright, have a seat and explain what you mean," Chief Bochco said. He gestured for Shannon to pull over a chair and sat back down.
"Well, he's been... off lately. I'm not sure how to explain it, he's just been quiet, distant. He almost seems... depressed. I've asked him about it a couple of times, but he always plays it off saying he's tired, or hungry, or something."
"Maybe he is."
"No, that's not it. I've worked with my team for over a year now, and I know when something's off with one of them. And something's off with him. Level with me... what are they doing to him at that compound you keep him locked up in?"
"Nothing. Running tests... studying him."
"Bull! If that's all they were doing he'd be free to come and go as he pleased. Chief, this man is an integral part of my team. If something's wrong that's causing him to be less than his best, I need to know, otherwise someone could get hurt... or killed."
Sighing in resignation, the Chief got up from his desk and closed the door to his office. When he sat back down, he looked Shannon in the eye and said, "OK, I'll tell you as much as I can..."
Over to you, Starflier... -
Temperature-altering metahuman Thermo-couple is standing by in the Magesterium, ready for action.
Like Arcananaut, Thermo-couple is also a scientist, and is committed to neither Cole's regime, nor the Resistance's cause. -
The timeline says Paragon Studios was formed 11/06/2007. I didn't join the game until January of 2008, and I know it was at least six months or more, maybe a lot more, after I joined that the Paragon Studios name was announced, so what's that about?
-
I'm confused. Why are you asking about the best AT to solo content when you are clearly running on a team?
-
OK, either is fine with me, just let me know where I need to be Sunday at noon - Nova Praetoria or Mercy Island.
-
Certainly possible. We don't even know whether Posi sent his e-mail to a woman. That's what Numina assumed, but he neither confirmed nor denied it.

OK, vacation day scheduled for 5-27-11. Plenty of time to stock up on Diet Mt. Dew and Doritos.

I haven't done any of the Incarnate trials yet, so I don't know if they include the Praetorian underground that the Devs teased at PAXEast. If they don't, I'm thinking that will be the new zone - a cave system with cool, glowy fungi and bio-organic stuff. I think it was related to the Praetorian DE in some way?

...make a Boss/EB/AV surrender near the end of a fight, like Trapdoor and the Honoree do in the Alpha Slot arc?
I know we can have them flee, but can they be made untargetable? -
Ran the Terra Volta trial last night, and got like seven common IO recipe drops at level 35. I think the only "Invention" recipe drop I got was the St. Louis Slammer, which I get so freaking often that I just automatically delete it.
In summary, it looks like its working just the way everyone said.
Thanks again. -
I don't think any Packs have that do they? That was attached to one of the DVD Collectors Edition versions of the game. They may have made it a vet rewards since then, but I don't think it was ever in one of the packs.

Aw, it's like watching poor Charlie Brown, sitting by his mailbox, waiting for a Valentine from the little red-haired girl.

So Onxy is opposed to... old King Cole?
Going redside is fine with me, but as members of, or sympathizers to, the Resistance, what is our redside motivation? Recruit for the fight against Cole? Take down Lord Recluse? Introduce a comprehensive recycling program to the Rogue Islands?
I have access to a fully loaded VG base - everyone who started it has left the game and one of my characters is now in charge. The only problem is, it has a really dumb name. Still, we could use it until we create our own VG.
Edited to remove dumb statement about Prestige accumulation, and to add that I have decided on my character. S/He will be a Corruptor/Dominator. Hope that's specific enough. -
I might still need the Mac-Pack on my second account, so that's a possibility, but I already have the GvE pack on both accounts and no interest in the Wedding Pack or Jet Pack.
I also might take advantage of the rename and/or server transfer sales.
Looking forward to the "future deals." Maybe a differnt pack(s) on sale each week through the month of May? -
Is one of them Incredible Hulk 181? That issue is the first appearance of Wolverine, and it was drawn by Herb Trimpe (not Trimbe). It's worth a small fortune in good condition.
Aside from that, enjoy them, but don't bother putting them in plastic or trying to sell them. Unless you stumbled upon a key issue like the one mentioned above, they are probably close to worthless and most of them could probably replaced with better copies out of a comic dealer's $2 stock. -
((I don't really know what the differences are between a Traps/X Defender and a X/Traps Corruptor, but I would think the added damage from the offensive set becoming your primary, and the addition of scourge would offset any drawbacks related to the buff/debuff set becoming your secondary. I say go for it as long as you enjoy AR. I tried it a couple of times and just couldn't get into it.))

The comic shops around here limit you to three as well, I think, but if you make a donation to whatever childrens' charity they are sponsoring that year - Make-A-Wish, the Childhood Leukemia Foundation, etc. - they let you pick more based on how much you donate.
-
Thought of another one:
The Day After Tomorrow - I'm a sucker for apocalyptic, end of the world type movies. -
((Just kidding with that last line.

Tripping over her boots and stubbing her toe as she ran to the door, Shannon called out, "Who is it?"
"Delivery for a Mrs. Shannon Callahan," came the muffled respose from the hallway.
Wrapped in nothing but a fluffy pink towel, her hair still dripping from the shower, Shannon considered running back to the bedroom to put on some clothes, but when she looked though the peephole, she saw the delivery person was a young woman about her age, so she opened the door and peeked around it. "Yes?"
"Flowers for a Mrs. Shannon Callahan?" the girl half asked.
"Miss, but yes, that's me," Shannon replied.
"Could you sign here, Miss Callahan?"
"Sure," Shannon said, taking the proffered clipboard and pen and scribbling her name on the line indicated. "Sorry about dripping water on your paperwork."
"No problem," the girl smiled taking the clipboard back in exchange for the flowers in her left hand. "You have a nice day, Miss Callahan."
"Thanks, you too!"
Shannon closed the door, and took a deep breath of the bouquet. "Gerber daisies," she thought, "How the heck did he know that?"
Placing the flowers in a quickly scrounged vase (her only one), she plucked the card from its holder and smiled as she read the sweet, but slightly cheesy poem written on it. She replaced the card and stood looking at the flowers lost in thought for a moment.
Shaking her head to snap herself out of her reverie, her hair flung water on Buntz who complained loudly from his sun-drenched spot on the rug. This caused Shannon to burst into a fit of uncontrollable giggles. When she recovered her composure she made her way back to the bathroom quietly humming an indiscernible tune.
Smiling, she thought to herself, "You really know how to make a girl feel special, Chief Bochco."
