Obviously you don't want to make it easy to get there but i think it should be possible, just imagine a team of level 50 villains turning up at atlas, quicky followed by half a dozen level 50 heroes and a few level 50 NPC's to 'shoo them off' while the strictly PvE players cheer them on alongside a few new lowbies thinking 'Wow! I want to be able to do that one day!"

    Pure Heaven!

How many PvE players would'nt be tempted to join in and maybe even tag along for a counter attack in that situation!?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This PvE player would be leaving the game double quick.

I have no problem with PvP but it's not really my scene. I will PvP in FNFC but I don't want open warfare thank you very much.
  4. Just checked Opera and she's level 11.
  5. I'll be there if only to give Kiken more easy kills
  6. Main thing is the team and the fun we have together not the power sets

I think there should be a new PVP zone, with an entrance from Mercy Island and Galaxy City that is specifically for PVP training. You can fight each other, but you can't outright kill someone - when their health gets to a certain point it automatically restores. This way it allows people to learn to fight in PVP, which may make the casual gamer venture more in to the zones. PVE players get a tutorial, so why not create something to teach PVP players as well?

I enjoy PVP, but CoX PVP isn't fun for everyone, and I count myself as one of them who doesn't find it fun and I find it a shame. My first real experience of it was Jedi Acadamey multiplayer (long ago, though not quite a galaxy far away) and yes, you would get the skilled PVPs who would take you out very quickly, but even a person new to PVP was able to stand their ground and play as a well timed force-push would throw someone in to a pit and that was that. Yes, you'd get trash talk, yes it could be bloody annoying at times, but it was fun and someone going in to a zone and being killed several times without an awareness of what's going on isn't fun and doesn't promote PVP. There will always be the 'that's not fair' people and people who view everyone as fair game as they're in a PVP zone but in my view, that's not what kills the fun. What kills it is you don't get a chance to figure out what you're doing wrong before it's too late. If the PVP are as passionate about PVP as the inevitable arguments seem to suggest, then I can't see a problem with a zone where you can PVP, but can't defeat, in order to train people for the real thing. I don't think PVP is a bad thing, far from it, but it needs to be made more accessible in order for it to be fun for everyone, despite builds and IOs and everything else.

    I'm now very worried.....

....By this time in a PvP Vs non PvP thread Knife are drawn people are slagging each other....Not coming up with something this good

I don't PvP in zones I only Base Raid if they are short of people (and I belong to a SG which PvPs a lot, I think I'm almost the only member who don't join in )

If this came in I would be very tempted to try it.
  8. I don't normally bother to post in PvP threads.

I have been in the zones 3 times in 18 months and each time the same result instant death.

I do take part in base raids because I don't like to see my SG short handed. I guess I have taken part in 5 raids and each one was so one sided it was not fun at all, I found my self watching the timer hoping the hour would soon be up. Four of the raids we won the other we lost.

I did take part in the last defiant FNFC and enjoyed it very much. Because it was A) short duration and B) not at all serious.

But I now find that at 50 plus my reactions are not quick enough, that was the reason I stopped playing Enemy Territory (the original one) I was leader of ZeNClan and we were average win some lose some.

I now like to cheer Supernation from the sideline. I have nothing against PvP but it's not for me now. For those who enjoy it great but remember some of us are no longer up to it (well I'm not anyway )

rereading this I have not added to the discussion at all
  9. Just had a word with Doc and she's happy for us to help her

I've parked Ted next to her they make a lovely couple
  10. mereman

    Up Up and Away!!

    Caught me as well

    Have a good one FFM
  11. I agree Kiken, Must be a first I'm agreeing with you

I was trying to get a low level team together last night, sending tells to players in the correct level range and getting no replies. Now thinking about it I would guess that most were trialists and couldn't reply
  12. I'll be on again (you just can't get rid of me)
  13. Opera is level 4 and parked under Atlas all ready for Friday. I might not be on until 7:10. I have to help with the washing up (yes I'm under the thumb)
  14. I can go one better I just don't go into PvP zones now. Let those who wish to PvP do so. I'll just carry on as my SG leader says playing half a game but I'm happy.
  15. Well as Mrs mereman is getting ready to play I've rolled Opera Mystic a Sonic/Mental blaster. Now thinking about the back story, it never ends
  16. The wife wants to duo tonight so my new alt is on hold until tomorrow.

I'll set mine up tonight and do the practice mission. Once that's done I'll let you know the name (still thinking about that)

As i have many alts i can join you with one of them. Hmmm also maybe with that much trollers in team i instead enter with my PB (human/dwarf) for secondary tanking, damage and team wipes because of cysts.

On the other hand i suggest all to try their characters 'till level 4 and give their final decision before Friday night.

Funny how I'm used to those

Ok I play to level 4 this week (wife permitting )
  18. I'll set mine up tonight and do the practice mission. Once that's done I'll let you know the name (still thinking about that)
  19. My feeling is we should all start together as with PP.

As for slots on Union I've only used 3 so far So plenty to go at.
  20. After teaming with you guys on Defiant I'm up for it (even if it means starting a Union alt ).
I would like to have a Blaster this time possibly Sonic/Mental.

As for when the only problem I have is I work earlies (up at 4:45am) so I could start during the week just after 7pm but would have to log at 10pm.

I like that we finish PP to level 50. But I can spare another night for this.
