Personally, I think Energy Melee is (now) the worst primary available to brutes. It is heavy hitting, but anytime I team with anyone else I find that everyone always finishes my meals before I get a chance. In my opinion, it is slow and clunky. Sort of like a bowling ball. Lots of weight, but surprisingly difficult to get it to hit all of your targets at once and be as effective as most of the other sets. I think Dark Melee is a better option for a primary set that is single target focused.

Quote:Oh, I misread that part. I was skimming the OPost and thought that the OP was suggesting something more like a respec with respect to powersets. Still I don't like the idea of rolling a newish toon and keeping badges.I don't know. I don't think it would be game breaking. After all, it puts you back to lvl 1.
All it really does is say "Here, keep the badges you've earned, but you still have to start all over with the new powers."
So it's not you're going from 1-50 with an easy set, and then changing powers to the better set, that's harder to level with.
To the OP, I don't care for the scenerio you wrote outBut I like the idea.
*and BTW isn't this the wrong thread? -
If he is asking for shield charge to function as an auto-dmg cap power, which is fairly silly, I fully disagree. I don't have a problem reaching damage cap on my brutes. As much as I love killing stuff with a brute, I think it would be plain OP to allow this to hit up for full damage regardless of fury.

I like the idea, and I agree that it is near the top of the list of impossible things that would never happen. As game breaking as it could be, there could be balance if there were a list of truly arduous, non-speedable things that would need to be done.

I will research to see what the changes were, but I thought they were kicking around the idea of modifying Scrapper and Tanker shield charge to add more damage. I thought the changes had even been implemented.
And to correct one thing, it doesn't suck for Brutes when they hit the damage cap with AoA, 90% Fury and socketed enhancements- it is actually quite nice.
Here are the notes for the Shield Charge patch. I would suspect that one is in the works for lightning rod as well.
October 14: Shield Defense - Shield Charge: Modified this power's damage to have it correctly be multiplied by the Scrapper damage modifier. The end result is a large increase in damage to this power.
Similar for tankers basically. Except for a large increase, the language expressed a slight increase in damage.
Doesn't this address the issue for Shield Charge?

I am curious to know what shine your brute has lost...
Claws is a great addition to brutes and I am thoroughly enjoying mine. I chose /inv and I am totally enjoying leveling her. Normally I can't stand playing toons at low lvls, but this is one toon that doesn't feel broken in the least at young lvls. -
What do you mean by God mode? Anyone farming with a brute at that likely invested a considerable sum of cash into an alt, regardless of the secondary chosen.
-
Can you? That depends on how well you are built.
As far as the above post is concerned, FA's out of the box holes are largely irrelevant when talking about the high end of the game and farming specifically. I would assume at the very least that anyone at lvl 50 has the KB protection covered.
I wouldn't say that FA has "a lot" of holes, either. The main issue is kb, but that is easily covered with or without IOs. -
That is an excellent suggestion. Perhaps time consuming, but good nonetheless.

I am very excited about the fact that there seems to be a fix for receiving junk/spam emails from people you don't want to receive them from in game. There is one question I have to go with this, however- why is it that we still can't have more or unlimited room on ignore lists? I put a player on ignore today, and was a little dismayed by the fact that I bumped someone else off of the list. I find it a little vexing that our ignore space is still limited. Does anyone know, or care to speculate on why this hasn't been addressed yet?

Are you asking about the powersets or the ATs?
-
*grabbing popcorn*
Just because it is an unlockable archetype means that it is instantly better than any of the five classic Heroic ATs. Some ATs don't suit all playstyles. I personally don't care for blasters or controllers, but love scrappers and defenders. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they are terrible.
Also, there are tons of people who love their HEATs. I would rather play my PB than a troller, but that isn't saying that one is better than the other. -
It seems like you have been trying for some FoTM builds, and that has left you wanting. I suggest running a fire/fire if you want to experience something engaging and challenging. It will be the flip side of SS/WP IMO. Little to no mitigation other than killing. Try that or maybe DB/Fire or DB/elec. Dual Blades are an incredibly fun set.

I could understand that someone playing a WP brute and then rolling into an Inv brute may be concerned about endurance problems. After all, a WP brute can grab Quick Recovery (which clocks better recovery than stamina) and stamina and pretty much kiss all concerns about endurance goodbye permanently. Inv, shield, and SR all feel a little thirsty in that respect because they don't have build in recovery tools like Fiery aura and willpower.
-
As someone who is tired of seeing suggestions for even more SS/WP brutes, I think you should try SS/Elec. Elec armor has great resistance numbers and is *guaranteed* to never let you down on endurance. That, and I hear that energize is currently the bomb too. Elec is the new shiny, but I think you should give it a shot and try not to add to the heaping pile of SS/WP brutes that is in-game.

I don't normally have a problem with people leaving auras on or toggles, but I am sort of irritated with all of the MMs running around with the full entourage in tow. As the above poster mentioned, going to the tailor/BM is quite irritating when there are an extra mass of bodies crowding the area...

Quote:Punctuation is not only fun- it also enables people to make sense of posts. Stream of thought writing is ok for your dream journal, but not really the best idea for a forum.all my brutes have to have taunt all im saying is the brute is the closest thing we have on redside to a tank not a mm an fyi on some missions no tank can save a team wipe so if it does happen its good to be last man standing every one knows a aggro magnet should keep team alive justr like we all know you shouldnt lie cheat or steal but in reality S%#T happens

I will take a large order of spines with a side of regeneration.
-
I would love to see spines on a brute. I would play it til the cows come home. I also don't think there would be any issues with fury generating too slowly.
-
Nice post fulmens. You have only been on a dmg capped brute twice? I am regularly capped. Just carry a kin with you and nearly full fury and ZAM- you will be at +750% dmg. I agree, however, tis a thing of beauty.

Quote:I LOVE the way you think.I agree with you. Mostly people that have the sets claimed best, say they are. I've seen all of those do great in severe, SEVERE situations. I think they're all good in the right hands and with someone who plays passionately and not robotic-like with all the numbers sucking the fun out of it. From my experience all mmos, it's those people that play the worst, and people who just play for what all intents and purposes games are made for, rise high high above them all.
